very so much so
i think astrology, both chinese and western, seem to be fairly accurate and it makes sense because after all its a pretty exact science since mathematical and geometrical theories and pracitices come to play when astrology is read

Religion attacks science...again
Posted:
8/31/2007 2:18:17 PM
Obviously the religious industry will feel really threatened by science and scientists proving each and every day more and more things about the teachings being untrue.
I think you have to be nuts to think that the earth is on the centre of this universe. I dont understand what more proof is otu there than actual photographs of our milky way to prove that the earth not only is not the centre of the universe, but is not even the centre of our solar system. The earth actually goes around the sun and so do other planets, while our solar system goes around the centre of our milky way galaxy. This is grade 9 math, i feel sorry for grown peopel who still ask for proof when questions like this are risen., You obviously show sings of blind faith when you take a holy book as poof opposing to latest scientific technologies.

How do you know that the word of christ is the word of god? You will never know that. Scripture is as earthly as a jules verne novel. How can you be so confident that you need to accept jesus to be saved. How do you know that to be saved instead of jesus you need to accept buddah?
YOU CAN NEVER EXPLAIN THAT. NEVER.

Blind Faith
Posted:
8/25/2007 11:11:07 PM
Blind faith is for whom is not able to pusuhe his or her own spirituality. For them who are not able to open their mind into different ideas and see things from different point of views. All of you beleivers here are so confident about your beleiefs that you do not try to see other views from different prespectives, yet you have no proof that what you beleive is what it really is. What im trying to say is that blind beleief = blind confidence. No matter how much you put faith into your god you will never know that all that effort that you put in it will come to be true in the end.
You all say our creator. Which creator do you mean? The maya creator? The hindu creator, or the pegan creator? How can you be so sure about something where there are so many options where you can look into.

UFO phenomenon
Posted:

Why do you think that people who beleive in UFOs do not beleive in god? that is so absurd. and what are they waiting for? what do you want them to do ....go to the Larry King live and give an interview? I dont think is going to happen like that...as buddy above said we are not prepared yet to confront such reality. Gradualy we are being eased into understanding this phenomenon. Im pretty sure our government knows much more than us on the subject and its up to them if they want us to knwo or not. I think its totally close minded and ignorant to beleive that we are alone in this vast universe that is infinite in size.

fascinating stuff fellas. i was reading that people can actually make contacts with et telapathicly, but only when people get together and focus all their energy into calling "them" down. I personally always try this experiment with my girlfriend and other friends in my own backyard including shooting beems of lazer lights in the sky, but so far it hasn't worked, or at least not that i know of. can anyone make contact or you need to have a medium or someone with a deeper spiritual understanding or telepathic powers to make it?

hey
there could be a possibility that normal people do have contact with ET through abductions, telepathy etc. I cant judge the man as for far as I know he has no reason to lie about his experisnces. I myself have never had an experience in my life, except once driving through the canadian wildirness in the middle of nowhere at night, i saw a strange light descending from the heavens than going back up vertically within 5-10 seconds. it could have been hallucinations since i was really tired after driving for hours at night, but again it was unexplainable.
please you people who claim to have had close encounters with ET be more specific and tell the story, if you dont like to disclose your story to the forums be free to send it to me through a message

thank you very much guys for the interesting and insightful comments. So do you think we posses alien technology that could save our planet from enviromental catastrophe and end all wrong doing and poverty in the world? Do you think that we have reached the point of the evolutionary scale in which we can be able to understand those technologies and understand that our universe is filled with life in every corner?
And do you think we will have a complete disclosure within 20-40 years?

this is my second thread about this subject. The other thread that I made before was blocked for some "unkknown" reason. I hope this time liberal ideas like this one wont be opressed anymore by admins of this site.
Anyways, what is your oppinion on this fascinationg phenomoenon? US president Jimmy Carter himself has had an encounter while he was governor of Georgia, and many other events witnessed by 100 of thousands of people makes me go to a conclusion that this subject is something that should be looked into and explained.
what are your thoughts?

coming of a new age has nothing to do with doomsday and cataclysm or armagedon. It has nothign to do with scripture. it has nothing to do with judeo christian beleief. coming of a new age is an astrological event that happens every 25 thousand years.

There is only 1 major sport in this planet. This sport is called football. Narrow minded North Americans call it soccer.
The greatest football player has to be the number one sporting legend of all the time.
as i mentioned above that is the brazilian dude called Pele

Wow Christians like you are so ignorant and close minded. You have no difference what so ever from a muslim jihadi. What makes you so confident and sure that your lord is the only path to heaven? I don't think you come here to debate about something, I think you come here to tell us that you are on the right path and you will go to paradise because of your close minded beleiefs.

No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. (Daniel 2:27-2
I find this verse to be very close minded. If no wise men told us that the world was round instead of flat, colombus would not have sailed to the new world.

How could a buddhist understand your god when his beleiefs are radically different from yours. How is a buddhist going to understand that accepting jesus he will be saved? For him salvation is not going to heaven, for him salvation is to excape the pains of reality by not being reincarnated anymore. How will a buddhist accept god when their understanding of god is diffetent form that of a christian?

Dawkins gets a little extreme sometimes, but most of the time when I hear him speak about the subject i agree with him 90%. I myself can not comprehend the idea to restrict my children from exploring the world and their spirituality though.

Religion itself is the TRUE root of "evil". Karl Marx said that " religion is the opium of the masses". All what religion does to us humans is dividesus, gives us a name tag in order to distinguish one group from the other. This deep separation brings into diputes , wars, etc. We are living proof that religion could be a major cause of a war. I dont think that something that divides us as a species can benefit us.

How can something be written in a christian prespective and can be related to someone who is a buddhist? To a buddhist the idea of judment day and hell or heaven does not make sense. what could make a buddhist possibly think that jesus will save them when they can not understand the idea of jesus becase they have a different concept of life and death

when will people start looking at homosexuality as a geneologic issue more than a social choice issue?
I dont think I ever met a homosexual in my life who was homosexual by choice. They were homosexuals because from when they hit puberty even when they were yuonger they showed signs of being sexually attracted to people of the same sex. Attraction is far from a choice. Some guys dont choose that they like blondes over brunettes because they cant. It's a natural thing.

I wonder what Christians have to say about the people of other religions. Will they go to hell or heaven when judgement day comes? I am not talking about jews and muslims but every other religion in this worl, like hinduism, buddhism ,. sikhism etc. Will they not be welcomed in the kindom of god if they dont accept Jesus?

Taking biblical events litteraly is probably the most insane thing to do. The bible and the holy books are just metaphoricaly weitten and most un-natural events described in the holy books are fictious. Just to mention the story of Noah. How could have been possible that the world was flooded thousands of years ago ?

I don't like how you christians try to merge the mayan predictions with second coming of christ and armagedon. This calendar has nothing to do with the bible nor with abrahamic religion. The maya recorded their prophecies according to their own gods and beleiefs.

Posted:

2012 does not mean the end of days. 2012 means the coming of a new age. Yes its the end of the mayan calendar and they predicted the world will end as WE know it, but this doesn't mean that the world will get destroyed in an armagedon style doomsday. The coming of the new age is something that we shall look forward to , because it will be a radical chage of things as we know it. The maya prediccted that their seprent god will come down to earth once again to stear human race into a new era of evolution. The astronomical significance of this date is that a cycle is happening, a cycle which happens every 6 thousand years. The astronomical event will happen with the age of pisces which we live in right now shifting into the age of aquarious. Last time we had a shift like this human kid first recorded history, and civilization started to flourish.
