I havent had any since suffering a stroke in 2003, and now I've turned 61, so the prospects aren't improving. It's just something I reckon I'll have to get used to. But do I really miss it? HELL YES I DO!

YANKEES ALL THE WAY THIS YEAR!!!!

Rotero, I must give you credit for your prediction. Those Yankees really kicked the crap outta detroit, didn't they. Maybe they should have played a longer series. 4 games just wasn't enough for the most over paid team in history.

Should Women Play In The PGA?

Heck, since this thread started, has she even won a women's tournament? I'd much rather see Annika give it a shot, because she has way more than proven herself to dominate the LPGA

When your team has a player you hate?
Posted: 9/11/2006 12:22:08 PM
It's getting easy to feel that way here in Jacksonville. Since Del Rio took over as coach, the team has taken on a thuggish persona, much more so than Tom Coughlin would have ever allowed. And if you look closely at Byron Leftwich, you realize he may be pure genius but he looks dumb as a fireplug. God how i wish Coughlin were still here.

The only way that would ever happen in this day of money hungry executives would be for one channel to bid a zillion or so dollars when the next contract is up. Sure it would be easier for the viewer if there were one channel, the same could apply to the NFL. But the big guys in both sports aren't concerned with the comfort of their viewers, they're only concerned with the $$$$

Kylene and Kurtina will get a break next year. I can turn my pent up anger toward the Tojos. So feel my wrath, Mikey and Dale. And while we're at it. I went back and reviewed my posting wherin I so thoughtlessly used the word "retarded"(for which I have already apologized), and I did not misspell it. Perhaps my attacker misread it. Now let's get on with the rest of the racing season.

I find it amazing that these liberal misanthropes, will defend to the death some foolish idea that there is a "right" to privacy, which as best as I can tell doesn't appear in our constitution, but they're quick to dismiss the 2nd amendment, which is an integral building block of our Bill of Rights

Gawd, I don't think I've ever seen so many misspelled words in one thread. Come on folks. You are dog people. at least try and seem semi-literate. Easy words like "Siberian" and "inbreeding"should come naturally. And I have a red-nose bull who's as good a boy as any father could want. Bad dogs are a product of bad owners.

IS IT OK TO HAVE TWO GIRLFRIENDS?????
Posted: 7/2/2006 2:37:50 PM
I guess at my age I didn't feel the need to refer to girls as girlfriends. They were simply girls I happened to be dating simultaneously. I was already 44 years old when I divorced. I had met several young ladies during my marriage with whom I'd have liked to go out. Once the opportunity presented itself, I began asking all of them out at different times. Apparently attitudes had changed since my marriage in the mid 60's, and after a date or two I ended up sleeping with each of them. I never saw it as a problem, until one of them wanted more from the relationship. I never lied to any of them. But eventually all good things must end. So I moved to Florida and started over before things got out of hand. In short, there is no problem with having sex with multiple partners, unless you or they have a problem. And hey, there's something to be said for Florida girls.

Greatest 4 NFL teams in different eras...
Posted: 6/22/2006 2:40:44 PM
I have to second the 85 Bears, and in the 90's, the Vikings have been off the radar. New York probably had a better 90's than Minnesota. The old Purple People Eaters were truly devastating to opponent's O-lines. And even the lowly Falcons made a tiny run in the 80's with Steve Bartkowski & co., Leeman Bennett, and GM Eddie LeBaron.

I actually relented and watched some of that US vs. Ghana-rea match. I know nothing about that silly game, but I know athletic ability when I see it. I saw none of it from US team today. Compared to the Ghana-reas, they looked listless and confused. The Ghanadians owned them from the outset, just based on athleticism. 40 years of soccer moms and SUV's, and that was the best we could do. Maybe we should challenge them to a war.

interracial couples
Posted: 6/21/2006 7:11:18 AM
Some of us were raised in a different area and time when interracial dating, or marrying, was looked down upon, and preached against(preached as in by parents, not by pastors, before some of you godless heathens begin to attack religion). Heck, I can remember my uncle complaining to my momma because I dated a Catholic girl. Their idea of mixed dating was anything that didn't involve two people of like raising. This upbringing has been ingrained and remains with us to this day. I get upset when I see any gender mix, and I wouldn't date a white woman who had dated a black man. Sorry if that offends, but it's just a matter of fact. And by the way onair, it looks like many haven't learned from your teachings.

Everyone in this thread is right about Kylene. She's definitely a spoiled brat, and not fit to represent Hendrick Motorsports. I agree with you all. You know, back in the days of moonshiners, a kiddy like Kylene wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes on the track. Someone like Junior Johnson woeld run him over the rails and out of the track. Those guys were real racers, and not to be toyed with. But of course Bill France, Sr., and his retarded offspring, decided that big money would make it better. Better rethink that one Billy.Thank God we still have the Saturday night local tracks. Everyone should support them if you have the opportunity.

I guess my Kasey Kahne sarcasm must have been lost on nice guy, I'm really just trying to make the point that he aint HOF naterial yet. Heck, even Flip Flop Carl may make it. But these guys need some championships first. There are a bunch of great drivers from each decade who'll ultimately make it, but I believe the 60's will take up the most space.

You go Bullitt. It's good to have someone else here to revere the old timers. Sinjia and Highgear are like that. The "Silver Fox" got his real Nascar boost when he took over the Holman-Moody ride from Fred Lorenzen. Man, those were days of great racing and great drivers. We'll never see anything like that again in Cashcar.

Hey Nascar "Remember Pearl Harbor"
Posted: 5/28/2006 7:03:52 PM
Next year Toyota brings the Tojos to Nascar. There's an underlying plan that goes with this. I know I sound paranoid, but it happened in Formula One, and also in IRL. The Japanese will enter year one with very little fanfare. They will carefully select teams and drivers who have a reasonable fan base, with no history of pissing people off. The Japanese auto companies are among the wealthiest corporations in existence. They will gradually increase their presence. One day we will look up at a race, and there'll be nothing but Honda and Toyota billboards at our tracks. They are a smart people, We will lose Nascar without there ever being a shot fired. Remember Pearl Harbor. The most brilliant, and cowardly invasion in history
was engineered and carried out by the same people who'll be running our motor sport. OK, enough of my babbling.

TOUCHING!
Posted: 5/28/2006 6:37:16 PM
Maybe it's just because I've gotten so dang-goned old, but I now find I enjoy prolonged foreplay more. It could also be that subconsciously, since my stroke, I'm a little concerned about the activity. Whatever the cause, the result is I enjoy spending an inordinate amount of time just laying in the bed, in the dark, and simply exploring my partner's body with my hands and fingers. Good problem to have.

Nascar 2005
Posted: 5/14/2006 8:45:33 AM
Man, I love the way everyone's memory in here goes all the way back to Dale Earnhardt. In the days of the Flock Brothers, Red Byron, even as late as Harry Gantt, Earnhardt would have simply been another driver on the track, win a few, lose a few. You have to remember, Nascar far predated all the pretty boys and their IROC styled look-alike cars.

Biggest Sporting Event of the Year
Posted: 5/14/2006 8:16:28 AM
I'm afraid I have to lean toward any American sport's championship, just to offset the rash of anti-Americanism which always shows up in a thread like this one. I have been known to watch every play of a World Series or Rose Bowl, I've attended a Super Bowl, several Peach Bowls, Gator Bowls, and Citrus Bowls (or whatever they call them now), but I have yet to attend a world cup, so I wouldn't be a good judge of which is best. I know europeans take them seriously, and even the French don't automatically surrender a match, like they surrender everything else. Until I know more about them, though, I'll continue to believe in World Series and Super Bowls.

best and worst sports movies.
Posted: 5/14/2006 7:03:02 AM
Auto racing and Nascar just don't translate well to the big screen. Probably the best, however was "Thunder in Carolina" filmed back in the 50's and based loosely on the history of Darlington. By the time of "Days of Blunder" nothing much had improved. They used a real car at a few tracks, but that had already been done in the 60's with"Red Line 7000".That stupid line "Rubbin is Racing" has been so overused by just about everyone, and it is basically meaningless. The fan of that movie is a mirror image of today's Nascar fan. Rednecks feeding on the mental simplicity of other rednecks, and not a real bootlegger in the bunch. I concur with the originator of this thread about "Slapshot", a real laugher.

They should set up a "powderpuff" division for girls like the Busch sisters. Except that back in the days when Nascar ran Powderpuff races, those women could have kicked Kylene and Kurtina's respective effiminate butts. Of course, back then the grand national division was officially called "Strictly Stock", a misnomer by today's standards.

How'd your team do in the NFL draft?
Posted: 5/6/2006 6:14:27 AM
Team: Jiguars

I give them a rousing C-. They neither drafted for the best available black guy, nor did they draft for need. They really need two things:
1. Break up the Jack and Shack show. Neither has shown any real ability in their chosen fields, Ronald McRio should go test the waters with another team.

2. For God's sake please find us a capable starting quarterback. 31 QB's in the NFL are able to use a legitimate wind-up and throwing movement, and then there's Tyrone Fraudwich, who dips his throwing arm down to touch his ankle before releasing the ball, allowing any half-wit DL in the league to get him before he throws.

The draft is a good time to start working these things out. But I guess waiting for action by wayne weaver and the shoe patrol is too much to hope for.

Kasey Kahne may get in if they have an exhibit for best coiffed hair. If he spends as much time on his driving as he does on his hair, he'll be a shoo-in. You guys have come up with some real goodies though. Rusty and Ricky will probably be first balloters. And because he won one of Nascars chasey raceys, I'm sorry to say that even girly-boy Kurt Busch will make it. Maybe at his exhibit, they'll run a film of Jimmy Spencer breaking his girly nose. As you'll probably note, I'm not as big a fan of todays sweetie-pies as I was of guys in the 50's and 60's. There will be a ton of those guys there. I'm gonna reserve judgement on little E until I see his eventual accomplishments. You guys keep it running. And hey dragracer, I remember Richard Petty crashing in that drag race, but I believe it was in the 70's rather than the 50's.

Do you think Nascar can be considered a Sport?
Posted: 4/22/2006 4:16:17 PM
Hell, regardless of what answer eventually develops in this thread, I consider it a sport, and I follow it just as I follow baseball, football, lacrosse, etc. by reading box scores, stories, and watching the competition on tv. No one here is going to change my mind, so I guess we agree to disagree and everyone goes on his/her merry way.

I'm glad to see everyone having a little fun with this thread. That was my intention when I started it. I can't agree with everything so far though, although I must say I DO agree with most. Some thoughtful ideas being presented. While I think there'll be a special place in the hall for Dale earnhardt, I don't believe he's the "best ever". I saw too many real greats come before him for that. In terms of best ever, I'd lean more toward Mark Donahue or AJ Foyt. Unless Junior starts doing some serious winning, the only Junior in the hall will be Junior Johnson. And Michael Waltrip????Where did that come from. Maybe if they have an exhibit for the driver who took the longest to win his first points race. He's still only won at two tracks, and now he doesn't have DEI behind him. And next year he starts driving a Toyota. No way can I ever pull for a Toyota in NASCAR. "Remember Pearl Harbor". Keep up the good posting guys. It's fun to read what you have to say.
