How to Find Out The Real Situation
Posted: 10/9/2009 7:53:58 AM

Ummmm...plenty of women manage quite well, thankyouverymuch. You must lead a sheltered (and stereotyped) existence.

Hurray for the women that manage quite well!
You must be a minority.
...yes, I'm a troll that lives under a bridge and never come out at night. So you can say I live a sheltered life from human kind, and have a hatred for the female species (what a ridiculous assumption on your part)

Wow...I guess you've never had family who suddenly needed long-term care, or had an accident or illness that created major medical bills, or lost a job, or lost a spouse and didn't have enough life insurance? I see these things every day in my work, happening to people who (believe it or not) have very healthy relationships. Judgemental, much?

Well, you just applauded yourself for being financially stable and then you remark on what "if" situations. So, if you have it together, saying having adequate insurance and money put away, a crisis can be handled accordingly. It's only common sense if you have your priorities straight, in otherwords, not going out and spending yourself into a huge debt...right?

How to Find Out The Real Situation
Posted: 10/8/2009 2:22:10 PM
I know you want women to respond, but dude, what woman doesn't have "financial problems"? To me, she's trying to cop out of a possible relationship. In otherwords, financial situations shouldn't be in the way of just a simple meet and greet or taking in the fact that, the good things in life are free. If she thinks money is the wall that keeps in having a relationship, then she's NOT a good catch.
Face it, she can't keep her life on track financially, what makes you think she can hold a good relationship?
Another question, why would she even consider dating pending on the fact of her crippling financial situation?
Bad timing? I don't think so. She might be looking for a sugar daddy and maybe that is why there's no second date.
I'm sure you considered that.

Is Getting an LTR like Getting a job?
Posted: 10/8/2009 1:55:31 PM
OP, I commend you on such a intelligent observation and taking the time to write your thread thoughtfully to get others thinking (getting tired of threads of people thinking only about themselves).
You're right, dating that would gradually lead up to a relationship and possibly marriage, should be thought as getting a job (more or less indirectly).
My insight that is a little off this matter is for those who can literally, hold a job. Seems to me, if someone can't hold on to a job; can't be a good loyal partner in life. Usually they get fired for not attributing to the company or are just plain lazy in appearance, work ethnic, or anything else that makes someone a good employee. I find this true in relationships, but the only problem is that these people that I'm writing about are dependent cry babies that rely on their partners to get by. They use the old excuses, after excuses, after excuses technique to keep their partners feeling sorry for them. They're masters of this technique...but this kind of relationship I tend to stay away from - if you can't keep a job, you're not a good partner.

I have seen some real life success with women that have met men while they are in prison. A close friend of mine is actually one of those women, and now that he is out, they have one of the better relationships i have seen.

....and then they fall in love and have children. Years later, kids visit daddy during visitation hours at the Penitentiary. Quite the fairytale.

Looks like Mirco's retiring:
This has been a hectic month in regards to retirement talk in MMA, and it appears that it’s Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic’s turn as reports have surfaced the striker is pulling the plug on his illustrious career.

The guy has a glass chin...smack him in the head and he's KO'd.
So what if he retires, I won't miss him.

Are unions at work good anymore?
Posted: 10/3/2009 5:46:05 PM
One thing I always thought, if I was a Union Employee, is that I would have a problem; working beside a co-worker, who's incompetent and unproductive, but is entitled to the same wages and benefits that I do. Does this kind of remind you of our Government trying to push equal pay for everyone?
This incompetence along with many other problems (including expenses) associated with Unions, are now becoming undesirable; effect the bottom line.
Today's private businesses with this economy and a highly competitive market can't afford to pay high wages and expensive benefits to Unionized employees. Add to the fact that our Governments (federal and state) want to raise taxes on businesses, making it even worse for businesses to deal with Unions.
Unions are losing ground and will have to compromise with lowering wages and benefits to survive.
I know in my trade, many Union businesses have closed their doors due to the fact that they can no longer afford to stay in business...too expensive to stay Union.

What is going to happen to/in America?
Posted: 9/25/2009 9:39:08 PM
It's really up to us Americans. Plain and simple.
You can either sit and wait for the government to take over all your freedoms or you can keep freedom by keeping the government out.
What I can see by the growing attendence of the Tea Parties, I would concur that its the later of the forementioned is what the people want.
The outcome of the elections in November 2010, will tell us what we really want to happen.

Taxing junk food!!!

"Taxing junk food!!!"<<notice the triple exclamation marks afterward, like some appending disaster is coming.
Hey WTF, we have so many overweight people in this country... why not? ...and the growing number of unhealthy people is why healthcare is so expensive. Get your priorities straight, if you can afford: a nice new car; high speed internet and new computer; big screen TV and cable; PS3; stuff your face with junk food, etc., and complain that nobody can afford healthcare? then something's wrong here. In other words, health above all other things, should be the priority.
If healthy food is so expensive, then why not get off your whining butts and make a garden! Besides think of the excersize and the "green" benefits! ...and I'm not a lefty telling you so.
This government is going to find many ways to pay for all these bailouts, Cash for Clunkers, and other pork. by milking the taxpayers and trickle down to non-taxpayers by taxing necessities. Get use to the "change" or vote Nov. 2010 and get these clowns out of OUR government.

Women who try to come back after shutting you out
Posted: 9/18/2009 3:01:06 PM
I could really care less to talk to her, however we both are close with our gay friend and was wondering what is on this ladies mind? What are her intentions, is she embarrassed to talk to me seeing that she dropped me at the beginning of the year without an explanation and hooked up with her friend of a few years that apparently was not good enough for her and now using actions, i.e. waiving, pinching waste etc, to make it a point that “she is still around”?

You really could care less? You're infatuated by her (duh?). If she's trying to get your attention, do yourself a favor, use her like the tramp that she seemly betrays herself as, and with that said, you give no emotional attachment to her (she doesn't deserve it).

^^^Its all about racing and winning, when it comes to winning - nothing is dirty. Its up to the NASCAR officials to call "foul" (we know they scrutinize everything), not the fans' opinions.
Dale Sr. was a great race car driver and if it requires bumping and pushing someone out of the way that shouldn't be in the lead...then he shouldn't be leading...even if it means crashing the fool. Its that easy.
When is competition all about being polite and respectful? Its all about one thing, winning!

It's all mental, if you want it, you can have it.
Why don't you have a vision on how you want to look and then work from there.
Isolate muscle groups, example - abs (usually the place most fat is stored on a man).
Focus on your how you exercise your abs and watch for results. If, in about a month, you don't start seeing results, check your routine and modify it. Get educated on different types of exercises and diets. Try things and monitor the results.
The main thing is that you have to visualize things in your mind and work from there.
You got to want it bad to see the changes! (seriously) In other words, if your just going through the movements, don't expect much.

I hate this toilet seat debate crap, it always irritates me that someone would be so petty about who left it up or down.
My suggestion? zip it and understand that nobody is perfect...it's not anybody's responsiblity to leave it up or down.
...and if it irritates you, I'll leave the toilet seat in the position you don't like it in

more on pencils, drawing and art supplies...
Posted: 9/10/2009 7:40:49 PM
When drawing with pencil: I outline the intial drawing with 2H, then go back and start roughing it in with H, and finally, tighten the lines up with HB.
Tonal gradation studies for a painting, usually go with 2B or 3B.
I'm heavy handed when I draw, so using the H range of pencils works better for me.
I seem to not have any problems with glare of pencil line, maybe it has to do with the type of lighting i use? or that I have a non-glare coating on my glasses?

The real problem with relationships today.
Posted: 9/5/2009 6:04:02 AM
Unrealistic expectations; a lot of people today live in a fantasy world and need to wake up to reality. Example: Why do you think many of you voted for an unqualified person to run this country? ...and some think a government entity will pay their bills?
The way people think today is the root cause of all the problems.

Why are Americans so Anti Socialist?
Posted: 8/18/2009 7:52:52 PM

Americans aren't necessarily "anti-socialist;" they've just been conditioned to accept simple definitions and look for bogeymen, rather than doing their due diligence on any given subject...why else would so many Americans just blindly accept the right-wing spin that there are going to be "death panels?" This is the United States of America, for cryin' out loud! Honestly, if enough scare-mongers told enough of us that "red roses" actually meant a smoking pile of excrement-over and over, loudly and frighteningly- the rest of the world would start wondering why Americans hate pretty, sweet-smelling flowers so much...

...Bravo Steveo! You would make Pelosi, Reid proud. Keep up the good work on criticizing Americans' intelligence...it shouldn't take an Einstein to figure out why we have a Opposition. "Due Diligence"? -People have read the Healthcare Bill, are attending these townhall meetings (along with the Rent-a-Acorn), and are demanding answers. I doubt Obama has read it yet and he's trying to push this through.
Scare mongers?: who's using Global Warming tactics thus we need to be "green" or we're doomed? who's using the Stimulus Package, because the economy would be a lot worse if we didn't bail them out (even though the aftermath we had bankruptcies/failures/record unemployment)?
WTF.

Did you go to public school in America?
Have you driven on a highway recently?
Ever have need of the fire department?
Ever have to call the police for help?
Know anyone on Medicaid?

If the answer to any of those questions is 'yes', then you need to know that they are all paid for by the government upon which you depend.

...Then this poster needs to know that they are all paid for by the taxpayers, in which the government depends on (hello)
So we're all depending on ourselves, the taxpayers (the working class, excluding the deadbeats), because without us, who's going to pay for all this pork?

Calling All Divorcees
Posted: 8/16/2009 12:18:46 PM

These days women know they don't have to put up with abuse, alcoholism, infidelity. Women of today most of us work and are self sufficient don't have to take that crap.

Good for you women of today!
A new report has come out about the rising amount OUIs coming from these self-sufficient women. The contributing factors said by a doctor that women are finding taking on men's roles with the added stress of bringing up a family ends up with drug/alcohol abuse. It's must not be only a man thing anymore.
No that can't be true...must be that drive-by media that everyone has depended on to elect this current administration.

A few men have wanted to continue seeing me, but without the spark, I couldn't lead them on and hurt them later.

I respect that in you, being honest with yourself and not wanting to hurt others.
I wish some women had qualities that you possess. Someday you'll come around and find that spark again. But until then, enjoy life and don't focus on why it's not happening; you'll find that you have wasted a lot of time

Calling All Divorcees
Posted: 8/16/2009 10:43:59 AM
I know women who are married, are mentally divorced. They're now in search of a man who can carry the torch for them and ready to cheat on her husband to get him. Until then, they will stay married.
From stories I have heard from divorced men, their ex-wives had things planned years before calling it quits, including a new man that she's suddenly moving in with shortly after the divorce is finalized.
Problem is that some men take things for granted in a marriage...that's a fault.
If I were a married man and suspect my wife was detaching from the marriage. I would cut through the chase, get an investigator to find out what she's up to and then, if she's been cheating, file the papers. I'm willing to bet that men filing for divorce would be equal to women doing it first.
Women are like monkeys swinging from tree to tree. Once they got a firm grip on the next branch, they let go of the former.

What's one thing you loved/love/miss about your ex?
Posted: 8/16/2009 10:11:21 AM
This one isn't about me, because what I have learned from the past is when I'm finished with a relationship, I move on.
But, I have to add about a letter an ex-girlfriend sent to me 2 years after a breakup in a long-term relationship.
The letter was 3 pages long and explained of how wonderful of a guy I was and missed deeply. This comes after the fact that she cheated on me and put me in a deep depression for months. The misery had passed in a year.
Then a year later, I recieve the letter, read it, and seems that now she is hurting.
I had a smirk on my face as I threw the letter away.

girls never approach guys and never ask guys out, girls never initiate conversations with guys, that is my point, it's always the guy that does the pursuing and chasing, thats the way it is and the way it is always going to be, unfortuneately.

Again... UTTERLY false. I do the approaching often.. as do a lot of women on this thread.

Just because you, of the very few women, who do the approaching - doesn't prove that OP's statement is entirely UTTERLY false.
This is a assessment done by a panel of women at a social get together, who I'm friends with, in which I didn't ask for their advice, but was assumed why I'm still single...they said my problem is that I don't chase women. So it's anonymous, by what you can call a "study group" or "microcosm" of what most woman want - to be chased.
I also agree with them, that one of the reasons I'm still single is that I don't chase and I don't believe in chasing.

Decoding the Female Language
Posted: 8/16/2009 8:46:02 AM
I didn't go through reading all the posts in this huge debate on communication between the sexes.
To me its simple, everything being mutual - I like you and you like me - then, carry on an innocent conversation, start to know one another, and grow into friendship.
I don't get into flirtious games, to me its a turn-off (why is she flirting with a total stranger?) I would just say to everyone, be yourself and start a conversation. The art of seduction and romance comes after knowing each other, not before. Makes sense doesn't it?
So, the little hints and messages are meaningless until I know what the woman is all about; knowing that every woman is different.

Cash for Clunkers, its the "feel good thing" our liberalized government made the feeble-minded thinking its a great deal - reality check:
1) the Eco-libs think its taking away those nasty excessive carbon footprints, in reality,
what's taking 250,ooo cars off the road really going to put a dent in anything? vs.
there's over 300,000,000 cars on the road (if you consider one car/U.S. pop.)
2) as mentioned before, how much polution was made manufacturing a car that was
never considered by our good doers?
3) saving jobs? Besides Ford taking a little part of sales, the bulk of sales have been
our foreign competitors; Honda, Toyota, Hyundai. Chrysler has matched CARS
handout with another $4500.00 (total of a possible $9000.00 off a new program
acceptable car) and still dead last in the top 10 cars sold through the program. GM
is #9.
4)Bottom line, just putting us further in debt and f'n the taxpayer who can't take
advantage of the program.
Stimulus, CARS, and if Socialized Healthcare passes... welcome to liberal world

Art vs. Craft

I've dated a woman that was into crafts, so I have been in craft stores.
My first impression of craft stores is that they're stuffy, uncreative atmosphere; in a sense, uninspiring crap.
Come on, it's all about dried up weeds and cut up 2X4s painted white with a novice job of painting the word "soap" on it, then asking $10 for it. .
Art, on the other hand, is the opposite.

Why does love become so complicated as we age?

I don't think love is complicated, it's everything else nowadays that makes it complicated...first thing, turn off your cellphone.

Why are relationships difficult lately??
Posted: 7/12/2009 7:28:46 AM
People seem to be too busy for anything. They complicate their lives and are competitive with everyone. I don't know what the need is...or why people need to stick 10 lbs. of crap in a 5 lb bag mentality everyday. Also, the cellphone/computer has become the people's companion instead of human interaction (involvement).
I get busy, but do take time to smell the roses. When I look around me, seems like I'm alone.

Permits, Architects, Decks oh my!!
Posted: 7/8/2009 3:25:50 PM
Draw your own on a****ail napkin and sublit it. nobody says it has to be a "professional" doing it. You can be your own architect.

That's the best advice. Why pay out all this money to have a architect making plans and stuff? Heck, go to the library or bookstore, find something on building decks. Then read the books and make your own drawings to scale. That's all they (New York) need to look at to approve a permit. They have their own state appointed engineers to help you smooth out the rough edges. You don't have to be an Einstein to get a permit, and they deal with people who bring in napkins (literally) and get approved for a permit. I've seen it while working on a City Hall building, you should see who comes in there trying to get stuff approved for a permit.
Wtf, do it on your own sister or get a contractor who will build the deck, get the permit.
Better yet, let the Contractors, who know all the codes and everything else, do all the leg work, while you sip on your strawberry dac.

KC and The Sunshine Band.

...and Hot Chocolate ("You Sexy Thing" and "Everyone's a Winner"), Ohio Players ("Love Rollercoaster"), and Commodores ("Brickhouse")
I always get into the "say what?" ("love rollercoaster...say what?") and "ahhhoww" (like,"she's a Brickhowwwssss")

I don't get the Ramones thing, I thought they sucked (Rock 'n Roll High School? lol)
...Didn't Johnny Rotten (Sex Pistols) get the credit for starting the whole punk rock movement? I mean that was hardcore punk.
Hey OP, you forgot "The Talking Heads"

Goodbye Michael Jackson..................
Posted: 6/27/2009 8:06:08 AM
I've been there seeing the Jackson 5 during the "Flip Wilson Show" on TV.
That was the rage back in the 70's, Teenybopper bands like the Osmonds, Partridge Family, etc. Whatever.
I admit that Michael, as well as some members of the Jackson Family, was/are talented.
But I can't admire Michael's antics from doing his trademark "grabbing his crotch and spin" dance move (people would get arrested doing that in public) to suspending his
child over a balcony railing to the child sleep overs. Its those morals and values that he has shown, loses my respect for him. To be honest, I don't have any feelings for the guy's death.

Decent guys: are they all either taken or gay?
Posted: 6/14/2009 8:37:05 AM

Let's see, women are not willing to compromise? 99% of the men who have contacted me on POF have all thought that I was great until I sent them a pic.

It's the limits of dating sites that people can just judge a person by their physical appearance (pic), is the downfall of internet dating.
Other than Dating sites, I'm talking about interacting, physically meeting or at a social event. I can tell how women feel about a man's height, they seem to be attracted by all facets of my personality, but! you can tell that I don't cut the deal for being 5'7".
Then there's a man with a personality of a stone and they're all ga-ga, subservient because of his height. That's what I'm talking about, doesn't what-so-ever make any sense to me.
I don't need to debate about this, because I really don't care anymore about dating.
I'm only in here for the forums and maybe sometimes, shed some light to those women searching and maybe helping those men looking, and thinking WTF?
