who recovers faster after a breakup men or women?
Posted: 1/13/2009 5:52:47 PM
I don't think one recovers faster than the other. I do it's easier for a woman to break it off with a man than vice versa. Women always seem to change themselves after a breakup (at least mine have), any one else noticed this? They go and get a totally different hair style, maybe a different clothing style, and so on...

the sleep issue

I far prefer sleeping alone. If we're in a king with seperate sheets/blankets it could work, most folks seem to have queens though.

What do women think of guys who dont drink??
Posted: 8/9/2008 3:30:48 PM
I don't drink. It REALLY seems to hurt my dating. Almost everything social revolves around it. For example, my buddies drink pretty heavy, but they stopped inviting me out, as I'm "no fun" anymore. When I used to drink, I'd go to clubs and tear it up on the floor, but I needed alcohol to do it. Now that I don't drink, I don't get on the floor. Heck, I don't even go to clubs anymore because I feel so out of place. I don't mind if a girl I'm seeing drinks, though I don't want to date a "party girl" type, who must go out every week.

Why is American law enforcement so obsessed with drivers speeding
Posted: 8/5/2008 10:47:39 AM
I'm a cop. What's happening is that speed enforcement is a very visible activity, meaning EVERYONE goes through "speed traps". We're not obsessed with speeders, it's just that you're exposed to it much more than say domestic violence, drug stuff, shoplifting, and so on, which most of the time goes on outside of the public eye.

Is it ok for straight guys to be watching porn together with no women around?
Posted: 7/7/2008 10:17:01 PM
We used to do this when I was younger. Sit around drinking, porn on one tv, sports or video game on another, drinking games going on, etc.. Just part of the background. There were ususally plenty of girls there too, they didn't seem to mind the porn.

Your Pet or YourRelationship?

If a woman tried to get me to get rid of my cat, my guitar stuff, or my transformer collection (yes, toys), she would be given the boot swiftly.

When she complained about the toilet seat, is it over ?.
Posted: 7/6/2008 6:50:07 PM
Haha, when I look back on my relationships, I can point to a certain argument that was the beginning of the end. At the time I never realize it, but looking back I recognize exactly the point in which things turn. It's usually been when I've been very frank about a topic or stood my ground firmly about something. I think they then realize I'm not going to "go along with things". They usually mentally shut me out, or start holding back sex. Their whole demeanor changes. We might even stay in the relationship for months, but I can usually point to the incident in which things turn. Lately I've gone ahead and ended it when I notice a change.

Men over 30, unmarried no children
Posted: 6/12/2008 10:49:08 AM
Well, for me, I have a top "bucket list" like most people do. My list includes:

1. Decent job
2. Decent house
3. Stay in shape
4. Be able to play guitar well

And that's it. Everything outside of this list is a "maybe". You don't see wife or kids on the list, so this means they are optional in my life.

Also, I LOVE my freedom. I don't sleep around though. I'm just commitment phobic, because I really enjoy my free time, and do exactly what I want with it.

I see most of my co-workers and friends in horrible marriages. Most are divorced or in the process. I will not be screwed in a divorce, or be stuck in a bad marriage.

I also have the whole if I like them, they don't like me. And if they like me, I don't like them thing going on with most women.

I'm perfectly fine being single, infact I enjoy it greatly. There's always the possibility that I'll meet "the one" though.

Your Gym?
Posted: 5/18/2008 8:32:29 AM
I lift in our dept's weightroom, the dungeon LOL. I'm one of two people out of about a hundered who have access that actually goes. Since it's basically mine, I moved things around where I want them, and take care of everything. It's nice to be able to go in, not wait for stuff, use chalk, and play whatever music I want on the old boombox.

Is this true about marrying someone in law enforcement?
Posted: 4/7/2008 6:09:47 PM
I am sorry (truly) to you guys who've had bad expirences with officers. I honestly don't see the type of things alot of you are talking about going on. Granted, I'm not going home with the other guys, so I don't really know what they are like outside of work all that much. It's just like the regular working world, some people take their banking, medical, i.t., jobs home with them, some don't. Don't think I'm trying to defend the job/officers. I'm just giving you my perspective on what I've seen. You have to look at the person individually, and not make a sweeping generalization about all officers.

To the poster who said I must live in Mayberry to not be taking my job home. I work in the downtown area of Raleigh (capital city of NC). Like I typed above, look at the person you were with. Could HE have made it the way it was himself? Did HE have to take it home with him? Would SOMEONE ELSE have done it differently? We all don't act like that. I'm sitting here with me feet propped up on my guitar amp, eating ben and jerry's, with not a care in the world. Don't think negatively about us all, it's all about the individual.

I'm a cop, my input:

Some, but not all, are control freaks like you guys said. I'm laid back myself. The schedule is rough (I work straight 12hr nights), and is not the best for relationships, but is no worse than nursing, lawyers, and so on. Alot of guys use the whole hollywood police thing to make themselves look cool/pickup girls. As far as divorce, in my department, I'd say about half of the guys have been divorced, so it's actually not too far off from "normal society" rates. Domestic violence, I have no idea, though I've never heard of anyone I've come into contact with in my career be accused. On the personality note, I'm not sure where the type A, confident, stuff comes from. Personally I'm type B, introvert. I'm nice to everyone, but doing this job, you have to put your foot down, or you'll get walked on. I think this may be where the type A thing comes from; even if you're shy you have to be able to take command. Our department is a 50-50 mix of type A and type B I'd say. Heck, when I'm off, I forget I'm a cop, even if my freinds and neighbors keep it in the front of their minds, I don't even think about it. When I'm hanging out with folks, I'm just like everyone else there. My only rule when I'm off is, I don't want to see or hear about anything drug related. That would be the only time I'd say something while at a party or something. Honestly, I don't see alot of the negative things that have been mentioned about dating law enforcement. It's no different than dating anyone else, except for maybe the schedule.

Weight...
Posted: 4/4/2008 11:12:32 PM
BMI sucks for athletes. I just did mine. It came out to 26.5, overweight. I'm only about 12%-13% bodyfat. Normal bodyfat in males is 15%-18%. Overweight is, of course over 18%.

When men get all GIRLIE.
Posted: 3/21/2008 2:01:16 PM
I don't get girly at all in a relationship. I think this is a big reason I'm still single. I just won't put up with their crap. I do what I want, when I want. If they don't like it, bye bye.

I collect Transformers (toys). Most folks think it's a little odd. I don't care. It makes me happy. If women don't like it, there are plenty of men out there they can date....

Problems with your man turning you down?
Posted: 2/12/2008 2:36:59 PM
You may need to have a relationship talk with him. I dated a girl for about 4 years. Near the end, I turned her down quite a few times. I just didn't like her anymore. Broke up with her soon after. Good luck.

men in uniforms

The attention is nice. I know what a woman feels like now (attention from the opposite sex). Sucks that I have a personal "no flirting/asking women out while in uniform" policy (trying to aviod any trouble in the job).

Dump her, or at least put her further down the "totem pole", for grilling you after only dating for WEEKS.
