Medellin Colombia, not so bad!!

KingFish

I was in San Andres last fall and it was the BEST trip I've done yet. It far surpassed Dominican Republic Mexico etc.

And I got the same reaction "Are you crazy".

I researched it carefully. I think people are far too ready to comment on something they have no experience on lol

Travelling with Children?
Posted: 6/26/2009 7:43:03 PM
Kids adjust accordingly and very well. In fact they do far better than adults do at settling in.
Although she won't have the same routine as she might as home, you will actually develop a routine for her while you're out travelling. Bed time is still going to be bedtime no matter where you are. Eating will still be food. Exploring will be, well, the world for her is a huge adventure but now it's your adventure too
One of my biggest pet peeves is that people never leave their own backyard and have no clue what the rest of the world is like.
It shows in their attitude and knowledge

International travel is on hold until I meet a great girl who wants to travel the world with me.

Why would you want to waste any more of your life time? Go!! Do it.. She just might be out there in the world travelling too

Scuba diving' great locations
Posted: 6/11/2009 8:21:03 PM
I'm going to bump this thread back up because since the last time I was on here I had not done a lot of diving.
Since then, Puerta Vallarta (not so good), San Andres Island (on the list but the snorkelling was out of this world) Roatan (it IS one of the best).

I might actually do some diving this summer up at Tobermory...but I'm not sure about the cold weather. Any ideas?

Should men act their age?
Posted: 6/11/2009 2:39:28 PM
I hope not because you'll be "old" long before your time.

"Age" is a chronological indicator of how long we've been alive. Society likes to get in on it too and say how we should "act".
I'm old enough now that I realize my "drummer" isn't like everyone else's and trying to stay inside the "box " gives me headaches I don't want.
If it's an issue for others? That would be theirs to process out and be "old". I'm not going to start living my life now according to what never worked for me to start with and personally I would find it very attractive to see a man who would skinny dip, or start a water fight with me.

Old broads and come ons. . . .
Posted: 6/11/2009 2:26:37 PM
As some others have commented, perhaps she has had negative experiences in the past and isn't able to try again. This isn't something that usually just "happens" over nite though so I would suspect she's always been shying away from "the deed"

Maybe she's gay? bisexual? Menopause drained all her "life energy" from her? Physical reasons? I'll apologize now for not reading the prior 5 pages so if it's already been mentioned, my apologies.

"Isn't it wrong to assume that just because a woman may dress or look sexy that she's "easy?" "

Yes. Maybe, just maybe she's dressed that way for herself because it feels damn good! :)

Why do we have rules?
Posted: 6/11/2009 2:13:54 PM
I think it's true that the older we get, the more we realize that life isn't so "black and white" and that it allows for more "grey". But I think some rules define what we definitely do and don't want in our lives.
Personally? I love a glass of wine occasionally, but someone who drinks daily? Not so much. Out partying all the time? I have to get up verrry early so not likely. Some of the "rules' just lay out guidelines to what we do and don't want in our lives.. and if that eliminates some folks, well my life will go on

New study shows that men can't read women
Posted: 4/28/2008 8:06:12 PM
This is a pretty hot topic. I don't think it's that men "can't read women" at all. I think we just "think" or "process" differently. It's our lack of communication to each other that creates the problems. I don't expect a man to "think" like me nor do I expect to be able to "think" like a man.

We just need to find middle ground so we can "talk" to each other.

TTC Strike - your opinions
Posted: 4/28/2008 7:44:10 PM

I think the way they went about going on strike is despicable, they could have waited until they shut down for the day

Given the reaction of anger in this thread to the TTC going on strike, they really didn't have any other choice than to do it this way. Had they gone on strike during the work week, can anyone imagine how much more chaos there would be? Not to mention the number of TTC drivers and workers that would be assaulted? You can be your sweet tushie they planned this when it would incur the least amount of assaults

And if you consider it for one moment, they started the strike on a weekend. Long enough for you to figure out how to get to work. They could have started during the week but didn't.

They are not an essential service. It's inconvenient but they are certainly not essential at all..

When is taking a drunk girl home from a bar and having sex considered rape?
Posted: 4/22/2008 10:43:13 PM
It may SOUND consensual but it is her prerogative to say "No" at ANY TIME before AND during sex.

Any time it is not consentual, and certainly not "implied", it transcends that line to "sexual assault"

why do men think they can use women for sex?
Posted: 3/9/2008 8:28:15 PM
There's a really great song by The Eagles called "Get Over It"...The words are PURRRFECT for this ongoing battle lmao

From the album Hell Freezes Over (1994)

I turn on the tube and what do I see

A whole lotta people cryin' 'Don't blame me'

They point their crooked little fingers ar everybody else
Spend all their time feelin' sorry for themselves

Victim of this, victim of that
Your momma's too thin; your daddy's too fat

Get over it
Get over it
All this whinin' and cryin' and pitchin' a fit
Get over it, get over it

You say you haven't been the same since you had your little crash
But you might feel better if I gave you some cash
The more I think about it, Old Billy was right
Let's kill all the lawyers, kill 'em tonight
You don't want to work, you want to live like a king
But the big, bad world doesn't owe you a thing

Get over it
Get over it
If you don't want to play, then you might as well split
Get over it, Get over it

It's like going to confession every time I hear you speak
You're makin' the most of your losin' streak
Some call it sick, but I call it weak

You drag it around like a ball and chain
You wallow in the guilt; you wallow in the pain
You wave it like a flag, you wear it like a crown
Got your mind in the gutter, bringin' everybody down
Complain about the present and blame it on the past
I'd like to find your inner child and kick its little ass

Get over it
Get over it
All this ****in' and moanin' and pitchin' a fit
Get over it, get over it

Get over it
Get over it
It's gotta stop sometime, so why don't you quit
Get over it, get over it

Pretty hard to set up the boundaries of a "relationship" that has yet to be established, never mind on one date.

I do feel badly for you vixen but learn your lessons and carry on

Playing with her while she sleeps
Posted: 3/6/2008 3:13:31 PM

works for me....but then I am aware who I am in bed with beforehand....so it is not so much an invasion or a surprise to me.

I'm aware of who I am in bed with as well but my consent is required. Whether its your husband or boyfriend etc, my consent to touch me is always required.

Anything beyond that? is assault :) and that was my point

made it clear that i wasn't into one nite stands
This is YOU saying this to the GUY right????

We ended up in bed
Shocking!!!..totally shocking..lmao

You're serious? You say one thing but do another. Confusing signals is what you are sending out here. You're messed up..not him so don't be blaming HIM for your own moves.

Is it my fault for sleeping with him on the first date?

Sure as hell isn't HIS now is it? Or are you expecting to get sympathy because you had sex with him and feel guilty?

Nope..no sympathy for you whatsoever. If you can't follow through with your own convictions it hardly makes the man the scum bag for doing what would be natural. Course he's going to want to have sex..It's NORMAL!!!

Perhaps it's time you stopped using booty as a way of trapping men into long term relationships?

My son and I just got certified. We did the first part up here in Ontario and the OW in Dominican Republic.
Our dive instructor used to teach in Punta Cana and said that although the water is beautiful, the visi is poor because of the pounding surf etc.

We did our dives in Puerta Plata and now I cant WAIT to go do MORE SCOOOBA!!!

Girls with LONG Blonde Hair extensions???
Posted: 3/4/2008 8:22:24 PM
As you can see from my picture I have long blonde hair and I am very fortunate-it's my own hair.

I think you should do what makes YOU feel good..you are the one who has to wear it and deal with it. Having long hair and maintaining it takes a lot of time, work and energy. I'm lucky and lazy. I could care less what it looks like and I'm well beyond giving a rat's cheek what anyone else thinks of it.

You'll be gorgeous whatever you decide to do but do it for you..no one else

Is Great Sex THAT important?
Posted: 3/4/2008 8:01:23 PM

of course great sex is important......... well, speaking from a mans point of view

And a woman's too IMO

From my point of view it's 50% of a great relationship. The best "convo" happen at pillow talk time. I'm a woman;...not a young girl who only "dreams" about sex that rocks my world. I want to enjoy it 100% of the time and I want to have that part of my relationship as healthy and open as all the other parts.

If the mojo ain't rising then there needs to be some talking going on I think

What are some good tricks when going down on a woman??
Posted: 3/4/2008 7:50:12 PM
How about observing how she responds to what you are doing? Asking her if it "feels good"?

Watch how her body responds to you: is her clit getting harder or is it receding back? is she getting wetter?

Those are great tricks and they certainly work on me

What is the problem with a single mom if the dad isn't in the picture at all?
Posted: 8/25/2007 6:01:53 PM

yet they still have a problem

This is the answer right here. It's not your problem, nor is it your daughter's.

It's truly that simple and please don't allow it to be yours.

proper bedroom etiquette
Posted: 8/25/2007 12:55:55 PM
Hmm I wonder if this is about etiquette or just plain old fashioned manners and respect?

If I'm going to be intimate with a man, then by the time that occurs, we should have already discussed condoms, STD's and a few other things that count (say birth control? lol) As one lady posted, maybe I do want him outta there before morning comes

Otherwise it's all up to the individuals

How long should one wait at a meeting place?
Posted: 8/25/2007 12:48:01 PM
Wow you all are so patient. I wait 10 minutes and then call if they have a cell phone. If they don't have a cell phone, after 10 minutes I'm gone.

I'm often running late so I always call to say that I'm going to be late instead of having the person sit waiting and wondering.

That's not cool to do that
