Flirt with other girls who have hot bodies (waitresses, cashiers, etc.) Compliment them on their amazing figure. Do it while she's watching and listening. It's a win-win situation. Either she'll dump you thus relieving you of 1) the "he dumped me because he's shallow" label and 2) her slack-nasty body, OR she'll stop treating her mouth like a garbage disposal and lose the weight.

Yes. 1) Went to a night club. Neither of us cared too much for the other, and we were both downers to one another. She left and I stayed to have fun! 2) Restaurant in her city with two of her friends. We tried scheduling something else, but eventually she said she doesn't want to talk to me anymore. Oh well. I've been apprehensive about meeting other people since. Honestly, most of the people I meet online aren't through POF or another dating site, rather social networking sites that aren't Facebook or MySpace. I've met more people through activity groups/clubs and it's always much less stressful (you're going for the club, not to find a date) and more rewarding (at the very least you make more friends).

Singing. I've always admired and been attracted to women who can sing. I'm not talking about singing along to crap on the radio, and not the "ability" to sing like all these mainstream pop stars either. They all suck. More along the lines of opera quality singing. Gardening. I'd definitely like someone who can garden well. Anyone can spit a few watermelon seeds into the ground and watch them grow, or buy a tree and dig a hole. Along those lines, if she can create floral arrangements, I'd be impressed! Baking. I love pastries, cakes, and cookies, especially around the winter holidays! The best ones are those made from scratch, not this Betty Crocker nonsense. Biking and swimming. If she can't ride a bicycle or doesn't know how to swim, I will think less of her.

That depends on what I'm looking for. Just to go out & hang out with? Nah, age doesn't matter much at all. I try to stick with 21+ because there are fewer restrictions on places to go. To date? Yes, it matters a lot, so I remain very picky. My preferred dating age range is actually my age ± a couple years, but I also would rather date someone a few years younger than I am, so I'm kind of screwed right now. haha

I pretty much only use any type of IM to send links of websites to people I already know in person. It's quite annoying to recite each character of a long website address so they may see exactly what I'm talking about. The same applies to texting. I don't enjoy texting anyone I haven't already known for several months in person. It's all about personality. If I've never met you or don't already know you very well, anything I say to you can be misconstrued. You'll think I'm being mean or inconsiderate. My friends know better and won't get butt-hurt. Another problem is this feeling of obligation to respond immediately. I hate getting IMs that read, "Are you there?" Eff off! lol To me, IM is better left for pre-existing friendships only.

I disagree. Most women should not have to lie about paying for their own meal to get a date. Furthermore, I feel that if I'm not willing to pay for the entire meal, regardless of the cost, then she wasn't worth the breakfast/lunch/dinner date to begin with.

Too much, but I love it! 5-6 times a week for weight training. On days I'm not in the gym, I go on long runs. During months I'm cutting, I'll run in the morning and lift in the evening. I also made sure "traveling for work" would not be in my book of excuses by getting gym memberships (yes, plural) at gyms where I can go anywhere in the country (e.g., Bally Fitness, LA Fitness, etc.).

You're a woman. You're supposed to have something like 15% body fat. It's only natural. You could do like my friend Maxine and fast for 3 days at a time, or take my approach, and zig-zag, while maintaining the same amount of physical activity. Basically, you consume fewer calories over a period of 2-3 days, then on the last day, consume the amount necessary to maintain your body weight, and repeat! The last day is supposed to trick your body into believing it's not being "starved," and the fewer calories the past few days was just an accident. Try it if you haven't already. Also live stress free and get your rest!

Thanks. So what are you saying with the first parenthetical statement? Are the things I listed that I suck at making me seem stuck up? Or are you saying cute people generally come across as stuck up? ;) Thanks for the compliment by the way. Saying "suck" is not really natural per say, I just came up with a list of five things across four general categories and threw them together with some commas: my physical activity, things I do alone, social-esque activities, and things I'm not good at, but still do. Yeah I'm mixed, but I didn't really want to get into it on my profile. I figure, if anyone cares enough, she'll ask. I'll consider it for now, but if more people think it's something I should mention, I'll add it. About what I'm looking for... My standards for women begin with the standards I hold for myself, which tend to be very strict, but not unreasonable. I've only ever met ONE girl who met 5 out of the 5 "basic criteria." (I got that term from her actually.) If at the time I had supplemental criteria, she'd have met most of those too. My criteria tend to be too strict for most, and listing them will just eliminate 99% of the female population. I tried it once on this well known "Harmony" site, and they deleted me because I refused to revise it hahaha! So umm... I'm looking for anyone who will speak with me 'cause at least I'll know if she meets criterion #3... intelligence/grammar/spelling/coherency. :) Maybe I really am stuck up.

I too was wondering why there aren't any POF get togethers in NoVA, so I thought about it for a moment. First, what do you consider "northern" Virginia? I ask because there are only really three or four counties that are TRULY northern Virginia. Second, most people who live in NoVA already know to go into Washington, D.C. or know the hot spots within their own county or city, of which there are plenty. After considering all that and looking at the population density, I understand why southern VA needs to organize get togethers. Am I right, or what?

I would typically agree with the need for people to provide at least one full body shot, but I realize that most people absolutely suck at taking photos. I also know that POF does a superior job at resizing and reducing picture quality. Neither of the aforementioned does either party justice. There's also another problem: people who wear black in their full body shots. If you don't already know, black is an over-weight person's favorite color 'cause it makes him/her look thinner. The solution? Swimsuit pictures ...but that only introduces new problems: shallow people. I've been told I have a great/hot body, but I don't show it off because it only attracts girls who don't have any interest in building a relationship, no matter how much they litter their profile with statements such as, "looking for a great guy who doesn't want drama." I also think they might violate POF's "no torso pictures" policy... So..... I don't think people should provide body shots. If you don't like surprises, don't do online dating! :)

I agree, the availability of "average" is silly. Every overweight person is going to select average instead of revealing the truth. I'd like to see a "ripped" option, because athletic doesn't always cut it. One can be athletic, but not ripped.

Every time I upload a certain picture it gets cropped such that my head is missing and only my chest is visible. On the upload page it reads that one shall not upload torso pics, yet your script crops my image to exactly that. Ironic, isn't it? http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/6555/poffailoe7.jpg
