Ron Paul: The US is heading into an illegal attack on Iran
Posted: 8/11/2008 5:38:23 PM
You must be young:
There was VietNam, which we visited only because the French wanted out. And VietNam was competing with American farmers in the world market for rice.
There was the Dominican Republic, where we had to save 300 medical students from a electoral change in govt.
There was Panama, where we felt it necessary to stop the very successful exporting of drugs by the President and his friends to the US, exceeding the quantity we would have preferred, and invading made it possible to kidnap that man, Noriega, and put him on trial in the US.
I understand we did it in the 1930s, invading Nicaragua to protect American owned banana plantations from confiscation by the govt.

Nothing new.

In VietNam, our super weapon, agent orange, sickened hundreds of our soldiers.
In the first Gulf War, Uranium hardened artillery shells sickened hundreds of soldiers riding alongside those shells in tanks.
In the next war, hundreds or thousands of our troops will be downwind from the tactical nukes we'll be using, so they will get sick and die from ordinary fallout.

In EVERY war we've fought, except in the Caribbean, we've readied our troops for combat with benzedrine, so that they'd be drug addicts when discharged.

Our President give no consideration to the lives and quality of lives of our troops.

The govt may tell your children they have to go, but it is your natural right as the support for your children to deny them permission. People with brains choose which wars they participate in. iow, America does not NEED to let this happen .
btw, the war in Iraq was also illegal, if that means there's no military objective.

False Teeth ........
Posted: 8/2/2008 1:53:30 AM
Some people think the top plate is all there is to see. Denture wearers OFTEN leave one or both plates out because they are uncomfortable. I have a friend who went back for adjustments twice and will only wear them when going out and when eating. Won't use adhesives. He's tired of going for adjustments (don't know what else he'd do with his time). He thinks they won't get better. He also thinks no one cares. In effect he's right because friends won't complain. Well I let him be because he's OLD. If he were my husband (ha ha - I'm male) I'd insist that he get the best adjustment possible AND he wear adhesives and he consider how he looks all the time. His behavior reminds me I've got to get teeth for myself, though finances are tight. If you want to be pleased by your mate's appearance all the time, just say so. Once the matter is settled, any resentment should fade.

sugg. weight ratio
Posted: 5/27/2008 7:54:45 PM
The BMI, body mass index, is supposed to be what you're asking for, but it's not scientific; all bio majors know that normal healthy growth is according to the dimension(s) being measured: height is a linear measure; profile area or footprint is a square measure; volume or mass is a cubic measure. This measure of "ratio" should be the cube root of one's weight divided by the height, but it aint, so all you silly people using the BMI standard are dreaming.

Definitely add JD, MD, trade diploma, MFC, etc etc; we need an exhaustive list with monthly updates, and lotsa radio buttons or check boxes so that the fillin process takes a few hours.

Hey, admin, will ya put in my 47 suggestions, too?
How much are you being paid to do dumb stuff?

They actually have a degree in between Bachelor's and PhD in Canada? Who knew?

Just because you don't get out of the house is no reason to assume there was logic behind the questions, old OR new.

As I've said elsewhere, this is part of a slippery trend to ask so many multiple choice questions as to detract from the personal flavor of one's bio. If many "factors" in one's decision are going to be multiple choice that means they can be computer coded, and we're back to "computer dating" by matching responses, as it existed in the 1970s on some campuses. (Or is that campi?)

I think the guy who runs this site has found himself with too much time on his hands; he could have enhanced the "personality match" feature instead, but NOOOO, he had to ask irrelevant questions. There are a few presentation features that are needed to dispel confusion, too. And a few that are good at generating reactions like WTF? So what if some people are so idle that they were searching on the website in the last hour or so? Did I say I'm looking for a mindless desperate person?

NEW FEATURE: Listing of Car or no car unfairly penalizes less affluent
Posted: 5/27/2008 7:12:40 PM
I see how one might get offended by the presence of the question, but the proactive man looks upon this as an opportunity, for NA can mean any of the following:
1. I drive a million dollar european sports car and no first date is gonna lay eyes on that baby.
2. I have a Humvee and I wisely choose to keep it off the road until it becomes a museum piece.
3. My vehicle happens to cost a lot to drive (bad gas mileage), though I love it to death. I also value watching my money, so I ride a bus MOST of the time. You'll see it when we blaze new trails through the redwoods or the desert.
4. I just want to see if when it's your turn to suggest a date, you can think INSIDE the box and suggest something that's close by, to maximize face time. I also want to see if such structure will reveal your practical side.
5. The question is irrelevant; this site is about dating and mating.
6. Let me ask YOU: Do you own a vibrator or blow-up lover? I'm trying to figure out your need factor.

This question is leading down a slippery slope to too many multiple choice questions for the profile to reflect the member's self-image.

Free will vs. God
Posted: 2/11/2008 2:39:07 PM
It is predestined that a fully functional person will choose his/her path. It is predetermined that a less-than-complete person will be at the mercy of others. IOW, fate is not predetermined for most. Still, the fully functional (probably) cannot exceed their programming. There's not likely to be another Jesus (if there ever was one). Free will is a romantic notion that may be a grand temptation.

We're winning
Posted: 12/11/2007 9:13:50 PM
Around '96 the blind imam from Brooklyn who tried to bring down the WTC was arrested, tried, and some heavy punishment was visited upon him. I forget what was done with him. We were winning. Nothing big happened til '01. Were we winning while nothing was happening? Define winning.

Today, while there are no attacks on NATO or US troops, some unknown no. of Iraqi civilians died of the wounds received in the prior weeks, some radical teacher gave another lesson of encouragement for suicide bombing, and some family or a dozen buried its dead and vowed there would be vengeance. This is called winning, also

And how many days or months before the next rehearsed attack actually happens?

One way to win is Go Home and Declare Victory. I like that definition.

Plans to meet 6 different times- and 6 times does not show up!
Posted: 12/11/2007 4:11:28 PM
The 2hr nap story meant he had a woman over and her presence prevented him from calling you.
The son being unable to feed the dog was whole-cloth crap. Dogs can do without ONE meal.
Laying a guilt trip and using your religion is just MEAN.

NOW, tell him you'll be friends BY EMAIL, NOT VOICE. When he wants to come over, say FINE, and don't be there for at least 8 hours. Apologize and say good night. Always apologize NEVER meet!

This guy is an ass, for what he says and what he expects to get away with.

“NEXT!” (or words to that effect)
Posted: 11/23/2007 1:17:10 AM
NO NO NO! Do you know how many sucky profiles I went thru before deciding to respond to yours? I REALLY want to know which of my many faults touches you as eccch. Maybe I'll work on that one (have the wart excised) before wasting my time on another profile-response. I REALLY HATE a response that tells me nothing except BACK OFF JACK. Well, it tells me you're really rude, but that's not a whole lotta info.

I really hate it when a woman keeps secret why I'm not for her. I'd like to know whether it's my screwy humor or the big wart on my nose: one I can change and one I can't. I really hate it. Did I say that already? Let me know if I'm a wuss or a bore, PUHLEEZ!
