Stupid Warning Labels

These are actual warnings on products...

On a large folding cardboard sunshade for car windscreens
"Do not attempt to operate vehicle with sunshade in place."

In a VCR manual section about time recording programs
"Only events in the future can be recorded on this machine, not in the past. Resetting the clock to an earlier time will not accurately record past events."

On a car lock which loops around both the clutch pedal and the steering wheel
"Warning -- Remove lock before driving."

On a packet of juggling balls
"This product contains small granules under 3 millimetres. Not suitable for children under the age of 14 years in Europe or 8 years in the USA."

On a packet of Nytol sleeping tablets
"Warning: may cause drowsiness."

On a packet of peanuts served on an internal flight in China (written in both English and Chinese)
"Open packet and eat contents."

On 500g packets of Sainsbury's peanuts
"Contains nuts."

Seen on a camera
"This camera only works when there is a film inside."

On a bottle of flavored milk drink
"After opening, keep upright."

On a can of windscreen de-icing spray
"Spray works in sub-zero temperatures."

On a can of insect spray
"Kills all kinds of insects! Warning: This spray is harmful to bees."

A different brand of insect spray
"Kills flies, wasps, mosquitoes, midges, and other flying insects. Not tested on animals."

On an ocean buoy for determining the position of submarines
"Protect from seawater."

On a Halloween Batman costume
"This cape does not give the wearer the ability to fly."

On a Rowenta iron

In the instructions for a Korean kitchen knife

On the "CycleAware" helmet-mounted mirror
"Remember: Objects in the mirror are actually behind you."

Profile update...
Posted: 1/9/2007 4:45:36 AM
I just updated my profile and would really appreciate some constructive critism.
I've kinda run out of ideas to make my profile better so any ideas welcome!! I've been told I go on too much about my bad points and that it puts people off, do you agree or do you think honesty is the best policy???????

Just a question - why is saying I smoke regulaly a negative? I see it as being honest. If I lied then went to meet someone who was really anti-smoking and lit up a cigarette it'd be awful. I smoke occasionaly when I'm out and I'd rather be straight up about that.

Posted: 2/24/2006 11:03:49 AM
Jake, I totally agree with you and I really can't see the problem. Someone I was seeing for quite a while (and who I split up with for something totally unrelated btw) used to see his girlfriend all the time. It was nice to know he could still be friends with his exs and I trusted him completely. Even tho we've split, we're still really good friends and I hope when he gets with someone else, nothings gona change that.

Has anyone else out there been in the situation where you've met someone, got on amazingly well with them, felt like something really special had happened, given them your number and then just never heard from them again. I'm sure it's happened to loads of people but I just don't understand why.
Surely if I've felt a connection, they must have felt something to?

So ya wanna be a poet?
Posted: 1/23/2006 11:08:14 AM
You love to touch and make yourself known
Force me to feel that I'm never alone
Sometimes on, sometimes off, you're not always there
Is your love a fantasy? I'm not sure that you care
Like a candle flickering in spite of the storm
Whenever you're close I'll always be warm
That power is yours, I'm helpless to stop
This flame being extinguised from just one raindrop

Why does something simple seem to be so complex?
We're drawn to each other with no obvious effects
It's hot, it's cold, but it's always there
A ghost, I'm a spectator in this stupid affair
People's opinions, we worry too much,
When all we need is each others touch
But what can I do? It's your shot to call
I'm here waiting, forever, ready to fall.

For Dan...
Posted: 1/23/2006 11:01:21 AM
It's a stone cold night
Rain solidifies on the road and I feel
If this coldness could enter me and grasp at my heart
No pain would be stronger than losing you

Memories pound my mind
Harsh as this wind they cruelly persist
Fingers so lonely push tears from my cheeks
No longer entwined with your love

Sheets of bold saffron
Ignite the gaunt midnight skies
I call out your name and no-one replies
But the sing ice-threatened sea

My eyes to the heavens
My heart always yours
I dream of us dancing as one in the stars...

And jump.

I think all of us make escape plans, whether consiously or not. It's just basic human nature to always think of a way out of a situation, even if we feel secure.

All of the turn offs women do and they know it
Posted: 11/26/2005 1:20:02 AM
1} Maybe she's trying to tell you something.
2} You'd complain if she never called and was out with her mates every night.
3} Yeah, true! But think of it this way - it gives you a chance to watch the football or go out for a pint.
4} Oh come on, you know you don't really want her to tell you. Spending two hours on a Saturday afternoon comforting your girlfriend about her period pains cannot be your idea of fun.
5} Why are you on this kind of dating site if you dislike women that much? And I won't even mention your attitude (and I mean YOU, spanishcod, not men in general.)
6} It's called being assertive. Women like a man in control, maybe that's where you're going wrong.

Try not to fall asleep in a Portaloo on a building site after one too many tequilas. Kinda embarrasing when you wake up in the morning and have to walk past the builders, trailing loo roll from your boots.

THE DUMBEST LAWS u EVER heard
Posted: 10/12/2005 6:12:38 AM
I live near York in England where it is legal to shoot a Scotsman with a bow and arrow from the city walls providing he's wearing a suit.

Oh and one for the taxi drivers out there. It's legal to urinate against the back wheel of your taxi as long as you put your left arm in the air and say ' I need to relieve myself'.
