can girls actually be trusted?
Posted: 2/21/2009 11:49:24 PM
I post a hypothetical question on POF like... "What would you do if the mega millions ticket that you bought for your boyfriend, that is still in your purse, was a winner?" Then wait for them to tell me if they can be trusted.

Ladies, are there first contact rules these days?
Posted: 2/21/2009 10:53:02 PM
"first contact" etiquette...
Be nice?
Honest?
respectful?

Subtle differences that will set you apart from the herd.
Or so I've been told.

A majority, or just a few?

Women are like flowers. If you give them the proper attention they are beautiful... if you don't, there will be death and destruction in your future.

How do I go about this when I'm not used to online chat
Posted: 2/21/2009 9:53:51 PM
Well...
I don't know much, but I believe that "generous" implies that you are willing to pay for it... so, you might want to either rethink your screen name, or forget about the nice decent girl.

Hypothetical Question # 4 (Been a while)
Posted: 2/21/2009 9:46:56 PM
You are headed to the store.
Your boyfriend gives you a buck and asks you to pick up a mega millions ticket for him.
You do. You have the ticket in your purse.
The ticket is a winner.
What is the split of the winnings?
(What percentage do you you get?)

I have the questions if you got the answers?
Posted: 2/20/2009 11:35:07 PM
When someone says, "I think you're too good for me", it just about always means they aren't good enough for you. That should answer all of your 5 questions.

Connection vs Chemistry
Posted: 2/4/2009 8:43:17 PM
A CONNECTION is a relationship based on similar interest, personality, or some other characteristics that you have in common....
CHEMISTRY is when you can stir her heart and make her feel alive inside.

Why do Women Sabotage Relationships ?

Best way to deal with GF's bad mood?
Posted: 8/15/2008 1:19:13 PM
Like Aristotle would say... A is A.

You are making a choice to stay in a relationship with a person that choses to be in a bad mood.

Chose to accept the fact or chose something different.

If it's a one time thing... well we all have off days... If it's a chronic condition... be aware of your choices.

Are bandanna's ok to wear at 44?
Posted: 8/15/2008 12:55:05 PM
Some days I work under the big hard sun...
and to keep the sweat out of my eyes, I wear a bandanna.

But it seems like it makes people nervous.
Now at 6'-5" and 280... I can do that without a bandanna.

Just wondering what the freaking problem is?

Guns
Posted: 8/5/2008 9:28:07 PM
First... Just because your trained and certified, does that make you qualified?
And if your qualified, does that make you not an idiot?
The world is full of qualified idiots.

I am untrained, but practiced and intense. And I am not an idiot.

I find women that are not afraid of guns very attractive, if they are attractive.

My ex wife would not allow a handgun in the house. I shoulda kept the gun and took the loss on her. I think that in her case it was a control issue. I would never date a girl again that had an issue with guns. it's not like I'm out hunting Bambie...

I haven't had much luck with the lottery lately...
So, I say... GO FOR IT, I only ask one thing for this bit of contrarian advice...
Say a little million dollar life insurance policy. Not a big one, just a little one.
Who knows, this may work out rather well for both of us. (I promise to split it with you)

All my shirts are no iron shirts as soon as they get home.
I gave all the 100% cotton things to the salvation army shortly after my divorce, which today is the anniversary of... Cool.

I think I will buy that Carson book that someone mentioned. I read the stuff on it on Amazon.... sounds good.

Where did I hear that polo's were out... It was on another thread here on the Fish, (So it must be true?)

Thank you all... especially Laughinglibra, and my favorite.

As far as the handcuffs go, the girlfriend came with these black velcro cuff things when I got her. 2 for ankles and 2 for wrists... and a strap that ties them all together. Important thing was that it matched the black polo...

Seriously... I'm a simple man... just trying to learn what's in style.

I learned in the winter that my cut off's are out.
Now the black polo... and now I'm not supposed to wear it in the summer either...
I've been known to do some freaky things... but i will wear a salmon anything.... um... never.

Spandex.... never tried that... but I stopped wearing a speedo in the 7th grade... was too self conscious. (and skinny.)

I guess the solid color button down over a t shirt is out too... since I can't find the shirts anymore...

What are we supposed to wear?
How about plain white oxford... maybe buy a stack of those and be set?

So at the age of 45, I finally put on a black polo shirt and was told that it looks good on me, and that black is my color... So today... I read that these things are now out of style...
La.. De... Da...
I went from a button down to the freakin' polo...
I seem to be out of sync here...
What the heck is in style?
How about helping out those of us who are fashion challenged...
Please.

I never dated 2 at the same time. My ability to multi task sucks.
But I do believe the answer is...
You and each of them is free to do whatever you want until such time as you have "the talk," with one of them.

Here is some information on adding value:

Waste and Value: Basic Lean Concepts

In assessing a process, it is important to understand what activities in the process actually add value to the end result. All other activities are wasteful.

CVA (Customer Value Added - or just VA for Value Added): adding form fit or function to a product or service, an activity that the customer would be willing to pay for in isolation if they knew it was being done – e.g. Creating code, implementing functionality.

BVA (Business Value Added - non-negotiable waste): an activity that is required to operate the business but the customer is unwilling to pay for – e.g. Budget tracking, code documentation.

NVA (Non-Value Added): an activity that is not required by the business nor is the customer willing to pay for – e.g. Waiting for resource allocation, requirements documents.

Wow...
When I was dating... I just considered it an acceptable risk... met them, and accepted them as they were. Then decided what column they fit into. But then, I like people.

For the record... I didn't find the post hard to follow... that has me a little nervous.

I recently had a job interview...
I was one of 8 interviewed out of 600 applicants.
1. You better have a really good resume...
2. Interview as often as you can (even jobs that you don't want...for practice...)
3. Start looking in other states... A company flew me out to Seattle for an interview recently,
unfortunately I cannot sell my house, so I could not take the job.
CareerBuilder is a good place to start.

Remember that getting hired is a skill that has to be learned, probably different from what you are used to doing...
At the end of the day, it's not the best hamburger maker that the hamburger house hires...
The hamburger house hires the best interviewee that can make hamburgers.

Better start looking now...
You don't want to be on the Granholm Diet... (No money... No food)

My check for 2 cents is in the mail.

When's a good time to suggest toys?
Posted: 5/1/2008 6:24:51 AM
Does this mean I should not shop on ebay for these?

Hey... if you shop at garage sales for these and hook up with the garage sale lady... you can HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO!

1.) If the toys are unopened... you know she isn't into this.. (Time saving tip number 1)
2.) If the toys are open, but hardly used... maybe her partner wasn't into them and she played with them on the side...
3.) If the toys are worn out... BINGO!!!! (Don't bother buying any of the batteries in the jar next to the shoe box... they're all used up.)
4.) You can buy your toys on the second hand market at a discount, yet they wouldn't be considered the icky used kind.

Here's to you Mr. GaragSaleLoverMan...
Second hand lover in a whole new way.

Workable pickup lines to use on a guy
Posted: 4/28/2008 8:29:37 PM
1. Yes... It always happens where there is something to talk about... there has to be a subject... like someone seriously goofy in the next line... Never a line of bs, but a few words about a fact.
2. Her motive was to communicate with me. I would go if I was available.
3. Comment on the weather would not be strange.
4. Comment on the weather followed by something fun that you did on a day like today.. see where it goes....

serial dating or loose morals???

A lawyer once explained it to me like this... You aren't exclusive until you have the talk.
But your girl sounds like a bit of a sociopath.
Be true to yourself... next time have the talk, and demand the respect that you deserve.
There are lots of nice girls out there.. leave the psycho's for the players.

What makes a woman good in bed?
Posted: 4/24/2008 4:24:49 PM
Synergy in mind and spirit that effectively creates a freedom that allows a dynamo of animalistic pleasure at the very lowest level, based on our highest values, wherein each is pleased, pleasing, and has the desire to further pleasure their partner... further creating a higher level of satisfaction, wherein each is pleased, pleasing, and... (and so on)

A little freaky, and a couple shots of Tequila followed by a couple hours of foreplay never hurt either.

I would never brag... they would never believe me...

Can I afford a girlfriend?
Posted: 4/4/2008 8:58:56 PM
Last February I found myself contemplating the same question. I wanted to date, but felt that my financial condition would absolutely preclude that from happening. I was concerned mostly that I wouldn't be able to treat a girl the way that I thought a girl should be treated. I met someone on line. We emailed a lot, and shared an interest in a couple common areas, that involved our philosophies

Because of my cash crunch... I put off meeting for about 6 weeks...which was not good... because after 6 weeks, you build up expectations that may be pretty hard to live up to... but anyway, after 6 weeks, we had a Non-date. I met her at a Chile's for a coke, at 6PM. At Midnight, I walked her to her car. At 2:00 am, she drove off. Now, I haven't had many first dates, but I guess it's rare that they go for 8 hours. We've been dating ever since.

I will tell you that if you come across someone that loves you when you have nothing, that believes in you , you have found someone special. That person might actually be harder to find when things are going well, and when you can afford to give them what ever they want, or what you think they want.

Remember "Happiness is only real when it's shared"

Last time you wore cut-offs - still have them?
Posted: 3/28/2008 5:39:52 PM
I cut em off long... and use them for painting, working around the place or the girlfriends place... they are good for swimming.... and good for fixing the friend's dock... They are great for embarrassing the kid on an occasional trip to the grocery... Not because they are short...but because they are a really crappy looking pair of shorts... and at the end of the day, they look way better than a speedo would. The nice shorts are just too preppie for me.

I like a girl in shorts... cutoffs or whatever is fine with me.
