The Heart of Letting Go
I think your right
We moved too fast
I can tell because of the way
my hearts is beating
The things you think
In a sudden crash
And you come down
To see that love is fleeting
And I'm sorry, Yes I'm sorry
That I took the road I did
But I guess you never know
How you will be
When your at the heart of letting go
You can't fight reality
you said
but I was clinging
To hope instead
The things you do
When you are still where
It all began
And now she isn't there
And I'm sorry, Yes I'm sorry
That I didn't let go as fast
But I guess you never know
How you will be
When you're at the heart of letting go
Trust me
It's nothing that you did
It's not fair
but you couldn't win
I wish regardless
of what happened
I would've stepped
Away and we'd be friends
And I'm sorry, Yes I'm sorry
For the lack of oxygen
But I'll guess you never know
How you will be at the heart of letting go
I know you did what you had to do
No matter what I still care for you
I know you did what you had to do
And I still care for you
I know you did what you had to do
And I still care for you
I know you did what you had to do
And I still care for you
Just like I did for you
At the the heart of letting go

"Digital Angel"
You are my digital angel
and even though
I haven't held you
the thought is familiar
You are the closest connection
To what I've wanted
in my life
It's in your reflection
You are too humble to believe
all the claims
of your perfection
that are pouring out from me
You have to trust me angel
Whatever you will perceive
as your "Flaws"
I know I can accept them
And as I live life
in the moments
of our divide
Your always on my mind
And as you live yours
in those moments
I hope you realize
You've added so much to my life
And I will give back
Because of all that you give
And I will reach out
Just to give all of this
Cause all that I know
And all I breathe in
Is the truth of knowing you
Is all that I was seeking
And with every touch
that I touch these keys
It's worth it just for my words
to be seen
By my digital angel
And every little part of me
I leave with you because I believe
We both believe
In the same things
Because you are my digital angel
You are my digital angel
And when I have
the chance to hold you
This will all come together
And when I have the chance
To hold you
This will all come together
This will all come together
This will all come together
Because you are
my digital angel
and when I have the chance to hold you
This will all come together

"Leaves"
"Leaves"
Like the leaves before they die
We look for the color in our lives
We all want to find that magic
Before we're dead and dry
It's in the nature of our being
to keep searching for that feeling
It's in the depths of our soul
to find someone who believes in
All we are
and all that we stand for
After all this time
my prayers have been answered
and all I know
is I've become submerged in this moment
and I promise myself
I will take this and I'll own it
Because
She's all I know of love
and she's all I understand
She's the only source of warmth
I'll ever want
in the palm of my own hand
Like a bird without a song
We all tend to soar along
In the air of our own regrets
until something proves us wrong
It's in this changing of our minds
that we seeing with brighter eyes
It's in this moment of clarity
that fate brings someone in our lives
Because all we are
and all that we stand for
comes in time
and your prayers shall be answered
and all I know
is I've become submerged in this moment
and I promise myself
I will take this and I'll own it
Because
She's all I know of love
and she's all I understand
She's the only source of warmth
I'll ever want
in the palm of my own hand
and I'll take this now
I will take this and I'll own it
and I promise myself
I will take this and I'll own it
I will take this and I'll own it
I will take this and I'll own it
I will take this and I'll own it
Like the leaves before they die
We all look
For the color in our lives

See Vanders Mark, you saw into an element that was positive about a band you don't really care about because you LOVE music and understanding the inner workings let's you find what works in all music whether you like it or not. I had a big awakening when I started looking for forums to discuss my passion for music. My mode of thinking was "Gee, I love music! If I love music and talk to others who love music I can find new music to love because people who love music love sharing that love for music!" (long huh?) lol Boy, was I wrong! People who claim to be music fans just seem to stick to proven bands that are "GENIUS"! The longer they have lingered in "GENIUS" territory, the better! So unless you learn those top ten "GENIUS" bands or only post some obscure German speed metal band ummmm...... like Gugenflimer or something then they will seek out threads that are just the opposite to tell you that your taste clearly suck! So much for building off a topic (music) that so many are supposed to sincerely love and furthering the experience through sharing that love.

That is so strange! I finally decided to buy "The Breakfast Club" DVD a week ago because I was feeling nostalgic about the movie and wanted to watch the new documentary. I feel that in eras that the 70's was best for horror and the 80's was the best for comedy which is owed HUGELY to John Hughes!

Vanders Mark, I think people like you are responding that aren't really elitist ! If you are someone that is open minded and are telling others to try some different music then that's cool. It's Elitist that are all up in arms about what others are listening too and treat them like they are beneath them. For example, I don't care for them but if someone put up a Nickelback thread here it's GUARANTEED that some missionary for taste is going to take time out of their busy lives to tell them how bad their taste is and blah blah blah! How many of these intellectuals will say "Hey, I can see the appeal but if their music appeals to you then you might want to check this (insert name) band out?" A little more productive and non-elitist in my opinion! Expanding your musical taste, as even ones who don't partake in the craft of musical are capable of doing doesn't mean throwing prior taste in the sh***er!

When music preference stems from hair styles, clothing types and peer conformity, the genre becomes the box that can't be thought outside of. This isn't a problem for me, though it does make the idea of informed choice a bit more than a stretch.
Wine is a good example, some people drink the same brand of wine their whole lives (after all, their parents drank it all their lives, it must be good). Others realize that different wineries will have good/bad wines from year to year and choose accordingly. Both will enjoy the wine, but the latter will enjoy it in a way that the former will never know.
If they discuss wine, the reasons for preferences will be different from both camps, the former can learn from the latter, but will not be able return the favor.
The problem is when people claim to know why someone else has picked their music. Not knowing how to play an instrument does not signify that I've chosen music for the wrong reason. I could close my eyes and not even know what a band looks like and still have the same impact from their music. Believe it or not even non musicians can have sincerity in their choices and sincerely like something someone calls crap without being influenced by outside sources. :)

I think that people can love something in different ways! I mean there are a lot of sports fans who will never have the skill to BE a professional player but have you seen how rabid they are as fans. I would say they love sports with a passion and they aren't made to feel bad because of it. There is a community for sports fans. While I respect musicians immensely and their knowledge as well would I be spending my hard earned cash constantly and on a regular basis if I wasn't an avid music fan. Am I any less worthy because I can't give you a dissection on it. Is there really a music community where people can actually share their love of music. It seems rare to me and it seems it's due to the lame competition to be the smartest fan. It's counterproductive to me! Peace!

Maybe you handle the knowledge differently. :) Music has enough sides where it can be approached from and still have great value. If you (you being in general) look down on people for their own connections because of your knowledge then you would be an elitist! We need musicians who are adventurous and love making music but their is no need to have the attitude that some bring with it. It's useless baggage! Peace!

When you are jaded by anything enough to not just be able to ENJOY music at the most primal level and scoff at people who can do this then you are an elitist! Playing music is a craft and good for those that can do that masterfully and gain a deeper knowledge of it! When you are listening to music in a detached way where you analyze it to death instead of just letting it sink in and letting it soothe you, elevate your emotions and just take you to a different place then I feel bad for you and wouldn't trade places with you for anything in the world. I don't care if it's Limp Bizkit or Miles Davis being listened to, I would envy the listener who felt it the most rather than the one who could break down note by note what they were doing!

It's the leap frog mentality! They don't like their relationship but at the same time can't be alone so they have to have something available just in case where they can immediately jump too! No one wants space between relationships anymore it seems so someone in the wings always has to be available! Guys do this too! Just my take! Peace!

World!
Let's not pretend to like each other
Because we don't
All I ask for is an empty road
so I can walk and cleanse this vapid soul
because I'm too attached to
leave this mortal coil
World!
If I could just start this life again
Maybe we'd find ourselves to be friends
But in this world once your broken
you become the mistake that
life won't let you end
I'm real sorry
that I blame you
for my despair
but I need to
to blame something
bigger than I am
and you're what's there
but one day I'll
find peace and
I'll stop trudging
on your back
I'll recoil
into your soil
and become unattached
So world!
for now just give me a place
where I can hide and sleep
It never seems like
you share enough space
where I can find release
So world!
Since my last words
will likely be to you
I'll be taken without consent
so let's make peace before I bid adieu
and sink into the better part of you
I'm real sorry
that I blamed you
I'm sorry that in my despair
that I needed to
to blame something
bigger than I am
and you happened to be there
I know one day I'll
find peace and
I'll stop trudging
on your back
I'll recoil
into your soil
and become unattached
I'll recoil
into your soil
and become unattached

"Crutch"
I'm drowning
I can't see the surface
If I could breathe a sigh
of something with a purpose
I would be inspired
to make this all be worth it
If I could find a place
where I didn't feel so weak
I wouldn't be the one who's helpless
when others are needing me
If I could start again
I would find what's lost
So I could be the crutch
to help the ones I love
stand on their own feet
Because a better me is a better you
A better me is a better fate
It takes a better me to better them
I believe a better me is all it takes
I'm thinking
I just can't help but thinking
If I could get away
I could just stop sinking
I could find my way
and come back with a burning
If I could start again
I could be the man to fix
and I would be the seed
planted for better things
but I don't see that now
so I hope you can forgive me
I want to be more than this
I've got to be more than this
If I could be more than this
So you can be more than this
Because a better me is a better you
A better me is a better fate
It takes a better me to better them
I believe a better me is all it takes
Because a better me is a better you
(I want to be more than this)
A better me is a better fate)
(I've got to be more than this)
It takes a better me to better them
(If I could be more than this)
I believe a better me is all it takes
So you can be more than this

Mr. Smart Fun,
If you thought High Tension was sadism then you definitely wouldn't like Inside or Martyrs! Very graphic! lol I did see The Others and The Orphanage and they were pretty good! IMO the best part about The Orphanage was Guillermos influence on the style! The story seemed flat to me! I did see the Japanese version of The Eye just recently and besides wishing it was still Jessica Alba in the main role it was still better! lol

Foreign Horror Seems to Have way more kahonas than American does recently?

The French filmmakers are sadistic as hell and the Japanese ones are on some serious drugs but they are making far more creative films that are actually original as opposed to America and it's crappy remakes! I'm definitely not a movie snob but here are some suggestions if you are a HUGE horror fan like myself and you are hungry for something where the film makers had the kahunas to make something original and that pushes the boundaries of how far horror can go and still be respectful then here's a list of suggestions:
The French-
Inside-Pregnant woman trapped in a house with a crazy lady who seems to want the baby even more than she does. Great visuals and intensity in this movie. A great thriller that takes you for a ride once the film gets going!
Martyrs-I WON'T truly recommend this movie but I will say that it is the first movie I've seen in a LONG time where I thought it was almost to intense to finish. It disturbed me! I can't say it's bad because it affected me and had me going back and forth on whether it was just powerful or exploitative so in that I'll say it did it's job!
High Tension-I'm sure most know this and the enjoyment hinges on whether the final revelation works for you. Like most of what the director has done since! It's the first French horror to get me curious though about foreign horror!
Notable mentions: Them, Calvaire, Frontiers
Japanese:
Audition-I think this is pretty well known but it's basically a rich man literally auditioning woman to be his next wife. She turns out to be f***ing cuckoo!
I love the subtle moments in this film that give me the creeps!
Tokyo Gore Police-Holy crap was this a f***ed up movie! Just for a brief synopsis, it involves a privatized police force battling what are called Engineers! WHEREVER, the Engineers are hurt they grow a weapon in that region! Use your imagination there and you still won't even come close! So out there I had no choice but to enjoy it! lol
Spanish-
Pans Labyrinth-Love Guillermo Del Torro! Nuf Said!
Norwegian-
Let The Right One In-Deep, introspective artful story about vampires that makes me even more sure I won't bother to watch Twilight anytime soon!
Props to USA for:
Hard Candy and Eden Lake were two exceptions I saw in the last five years or so!
Have you seen most of these? Do you like them? Do you have any other suggestions? Peace!

MJ Memorial: Truth and Tears of a Child
Posted:
7/8/2009 3:41:48 AM
In a night of a memorial
A night of spectacle and emotion
of tribute and devotion
the purity of words
washed the night away
Family
Friends
Legends
Fans
All came together for this man
when all was said
and done
Ones words had become
All that there was to say
Since she came from the womb
Her first words consumed
By the world
Were for the man
Everyone thought they knew
As the mike was lowered
To the one to closest to the truth
You had to feel something
You had to be moved
At the end of a night
filled with song and dance
It ended with the words
Filled with simplicity
Poise and elegance
Words
from a daughter
about a father
A relationship
Closest
To the man
That she comes closer to
Understand
Than anyone one critic
or any one fan
In the tears of one child
We see what MJ loved
Nothing scandalous
Just Innocence
Just the Purity of Love
The world of the jaded
The Judge and Jury
We created
Hasn't reached this ones world
Because like her father
She only knows
the world for beauty
and saw her fathers soul
A man that like her
had yet to let that soul grow old

Goodbye Michael Jackson..................

I don't think I've seen such a sad moment as I have just barely seeing MJs daughter speak her peace and state in tears what a good father Michael was and how much she loved him! That was the realest, most pure moment in the memorial! I think that only the most jaded could have seen anything staged or insincere about that! If nothing else maybe this "freak" was a human! Who better to give that perspective than his own daughter. She came off as very brave, spoke with grace and in a line or two said more than what the whole memorial had. I think she truly lost a great father and she and as well as MJs other two children have suffered tenfold what the rest of the world has in this event. :( Peace!

"Forgive Me Father" by David Ford
Posted:
7/5/2009 11:46:32 PM
I went out of my way to find these lyrics from the new David Ford song because I'm in love with the song and he definitely is one of the better lyricists today IMO! Peace!
"Forgive Me Father" by David Ford
Exactly where should I begin?
Forgive me father, I have sinned
Caught perpetuating wrongs
I screamed an accusation
Yet convinced that still I can
Somehow be better than I am
If I could only bring myself to step in one direction
Now all the progress I have made has left me bitter and afraid
I’ll bolt the doors and let the trappings of my life surround me
And hope to God nobody calls
I’ll trust the scratching in the walls
To be my comfort and my shelter from the world around me
Ignore the whisper on the wind
Forgive me father, I have sinned
Right now I swear I’d cling to anything you’d care to show me
To save me from improper thoughts, a modern miracle of sorts
Against the tide of advertising and survival only
A precondition has been set
And every new potential threat must be eradicated from the face of all that’s sacred
And none shall stand before the cause
I’ll be hysterically yours
And deaf to any reason, evidence or explanation
So tell me what have I become?
A middle finger to the sun
I traded fireworks for love and I was left with nothing
But paper shards and empty shells
A burst of sulphur blown to hell
It just might be that all this history has taught me something
It’s taking lessons from the past
I won’t build anything to last, but engineer to fall apart the day the warranty expires
So keep the wheels turning round
Keep the flag pinned to the ground
Just don’t look back and don’t look down
In fact, just don’t look at all
Or you’ll see opinion dressed as fact and definitions inexact
Explain away the darkest days as misinterpretation
It’s like the dumbing down,
It’s so uncouth
Like there’s one single f***ing truth
Like right or wrong or left and right could be so uncomplicated
Swagger dripping from the stage
I curse the impatience of the age
It all takes time, and time is money
Money talks, and talk is cheap
Cheapest road to lead the way
From seed to forest in a day
And by the time the sun is set there’s only dirt and matchwood
So could it be the end is nigh
And the time for idly standing by is now upon us?
Everybody look to some distraction
I throw my patience to the wind
Forgive me father, all my sins
Feel like they're woven double-stitched into the fabric of the world…

New rap music
Posted:
7/5/2009 5:23:58 AM
My favorites are Mickey Avalon, Dirt Nasty, Andre Legacy and Beardo who together make up the Dyslexic Speedreaders. They just make music that satires the new bling bling rap and their attitude in their music reminds me of The Beastie Boys when they did "Fight For Your Right". They are all unlikely faces in rap as well which make them more interesting. As far as serious rappers, the last one I got into was Sage Francis who's a great lyricist who blends rap with touches of spoken word and poetry. As far as new rap music, I can appreciate hip hop that is made to dance to. A lot of rap in the early days was made for fun and didn't have to change the world. So while I love artist like 2pac and Public Enemy for their social messages I'll jam out to Black Eyed Peas, Flo-rida, T.I. and Outkast any day. Peace!

I like both worlds of music! The underground, indie, etc. and the mainstream! What I hate is choosing one over the other! :) I haven't even found a forum, nevermind a person, that feels the same way with the exception of one or two friends I've known forever.

Ben Folds A Capella
Posted:

Has anyone heard the last project by Ben Folds where he had various A Capella groups sing songs from his catalog. I can't lie, I buy everything Ben Folds but I was reluctant to buy this one because I was afraid it would be corny. I ended up buying it anyway and I was shocked. I loved it! I would even venture to say that parts of it were simply beautiful. Obviously the harmonies were amazing. The standout track for me was "Magic" which was from Ben Folds Fives second c.d. and wasn't even written by Ben himself. Has anyone else tried this c.d. out? Impressed? Disappointed? Indifferent? Let me know! Peace!
p.s. The last time I put a question about a particular album (Blue October) it got deleted so I hope this doesn't. If it does could someone just tell me straight out why an album question might get deleted here. Thanks!

Does a muse have to be a real person? lol I tend to write about an ideal of what I want. That's my muse! :)

I actually do have a thread going on the poetry forum and enjoy it. I have the poem on my page to give a teaser of something creative that I do to someone who views it. As far as the beard I haven't had a full one in quite a while. I just like being honest and giving a full perspective on my profile. I labled the pictures to show that I don't currently have a beard. lol Thanks for the compliment though! Peace!

I like that honestly! Thank you! You got exactly what I was asking for! I think now that I see this, the poem I wrote speaks for itself and I didn't need to connect it to the rest of my dialogue. The way you wrote it is more concise and says everything. Much appreciated!

Indie musique anyone? :D

lol Try finding your music soulmate living in small town NH! My problem is that I like a little bit of everything so I can relate to anyones music to a degree but very few can relate to the stuff I have the deepest connection to. As for your question, I like the indie stuff that isn't afraid of a little pop sensibility like and own all of Regina Spektor (love the new c.d. Far) and both of Eisleys! Decemberist (I have The Crane Wife) aren't bad and I'm slowly getting into Iron and Wine. I like a couple of songs by the Shins, Death Cab For Cutie and Band of Horses as well. My personal favorites indie or indie labels bands are South FM (broken up), City and Colour, David Ford, Katie Trotta, M83 and One Less Reason. If you include more mainstream indie labels like Tooth and Nail, Vagrant, etc. I could name tons more but I'll try to stay within boundaries. lol

O.K. I tried a simpler header over the song lyric and eliminated the smiley faces! I agree the smiley face thing comes off as unnecessary now that I think about it! As far as the length it's understandable but I know when I'm surfing that I hate short profiles that say nothing. It gets me thinking "Why are you here again?". Maybe if some can tell me a more concise way of saying what I have presented and still paint the same picture.
To expand on things, I haven't had trouble getting responses! Actually I've had some good content in my messages where I got to know some cool details about people and share my own. At the same time I seem to reach a stop at about message three each time. More than trying to get a response I'm trying to paint a full enough picture where the girl can tell from my profile what the good traits as well as the quirks are from me so I'll rein in the girl who'll already have the initial interest. I want to be past the interview part quicker and just have a fun conversation and if she's already interested it makes the process more fun. To anyone with the patience to read, could you throw me some tidbits! Peace!

I'm not going to lie! I like your debating style and you've done your homework! You also haven't cracked and come off as rude in my opinion. I do find it unfortunate and a little distasteful that there couldn't be one tribute thread for the artist that wasn't polluted for the people that were true fans (way bigger fans than myself) to just put in their well wishes! Another thread could have easily been started for the verbal ping pong matches! My idea about music in general is that it should be something that brings peace to people. It's the ultimate catharsis IMO. I come here to share in that as well as expand on what I like but all people do here is have arguments that can't very well end because what you like isn't something that can be rationalized. It's an endless battle usually with the same handful of artist being thrown around monotonously to win some sort of musical battle royal. Just don't see the point! Who wins? Peace!

The Aqua Mist of Silence

Thank you PLB! That's a huge compliment coming from you! I'm starting to feel more of a place here!
"The Aqua Mist of Silence"
In the aqua mist
of silence
we were awkward
blushing
violets
saturated under the sky's
joyous tears
In her eyes
I saw an island
paradise
beneath her eyelids
as I brush the dew
from the dark
strands
of her hair
My forehead
rested on
her forehead
my palms
braced
on her hips
our heads tilted
slightly
to quench the thirst
from our lips
our own little haven
one of our
few moments
alone
our moment beneath
that bridge
was a moment
I lived
A moment I felt home

Hello! I'm not a newbie here guys and gals, so I honestly can say that I'm not here to find out whether anyone thinks I'm hot/ugly or if my accolades are appealing enough to get anyone interested. All the content I want is in my profile to describe who I am, what I'm interested in and what I want in a woman. It's all ME bare and honest! Here's what I humbly ask from you! :) All the info presented I want to keep but I want to make sure I'm representing myself right in the WAY I say things. Sometimes I don't recognize how things come off as far as tact when it's in writing! I don't know what TMI is as well socially on here or if something can be said in a way that's not so awkward! Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated and absorbed! I appreciate your time! Peace!

Goodbye Michael Jackson..................

I think our biggest mistake is to put all these people on a pedestal in the first place and go into shock when they do something or get accused of something less than perfect. In Michaels case far less than perfect. My favorite musician is Billy Corgan but I can admit that he seems like an egocencentric pretentious pr**k. I'll never throw away the art he makes because I love what comes out of him as an artist under ANY circumstances. Person and art are separate IMO. In Michaels case, I like his music but he's not even in my top 50 artist. The only reason I've made post in regards to him is that I knew people were going to jump on a bandwagon to down anyone that loved his ART when it's a TRIBUTE thread. "Goodbye Michael Jackson.... " is what the thread is titled and people should have the right to that. Opinions are cool but why didn't ANY of the people who were more concerned with crucifying him for his accusations or even his accolades start a different thread where it's more topical. It just seems to be people baiting people which seems unnecessary. This is not directed at any particular person but I believe that we are missing the point of what art is. Maybe the art world would be better if artist just released material anonymously to be judged on it's own merit! Peace!

Here's what I don't get! You exposed insecurities about how people rated you low on your looks but you did the same thing to them! The difference is that your opinion wasn't asked for by the ones that rated you but you asked them for theirs! They gave it! This whole thing seems vain! I think there are a lot harder blows a person can take to their self worth than a rating on their pic IMO!

The Far End of the Black

The Far End of the Black by J.R. Richards
It's in those days when nothing seems right
when the world feels as if it's stumbling from a fight
I pray for you to wash the harm from my back
for my greatest fear in the world will be
that I won't be there to stop the world if it comes to take you
that I won't be there to stop the world
on the far end of the black there was light
and it was you
I wait in the black as you bathe yourself in light
and pray for you to wash the harm from my back
my greatest fear in the world it will be
that I won't be there to stop the world if it comes to take you
that I won't be there to stop the world
on the far end of the black there was light
on the far end of the black there was light
and it was you
but you don't seem to care
your smile is your dare to those around you - beware

Is it possible to look past insecurities
Posted:
6/28/2009 2:05:44 AM
It depends if the insecurities are internalized or projected if that makes any sense! Like if they are so insecure that they practically hate the world and everything around it and blame them for everything that takes more work than anything I could fix. If they just need to be reminded that they are a beautiful, intelligent, kind person that could do anything they wanted if they put there mind to it then I could do it! If I love someone, I do believe they can do anything but if someone is so hardened from their own doing then it's beyond my abilities! Peace!

You're right if you are trying to say that society is a fickle bunch with a low attention span! lol I, like you, enjoy old soul artist like Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. I don't believe that Marvin is still being plastered all over the place either but his music like any talent is still accessible based on marketing nostalgia just like MJs will be. Any music that ever made an impact will be in popular consciousness because people always believe that if it's old and was once popular then it's "classic". So outside of arguments about artistic merit which is impossible to prove/disprove outside of preference, Micheal Jackson will forever hold relevance because art and commerce is forever carried by us as part of societys nostalgia.

Thank you! I didn't follow Farrah Fawcetts career as well, but like so many people, my life has been affected by cancer. I've had an Uncle and Aunt who died from it and my heart goes out to any who experiences something that painful. People who try to fight that are so brave! So in saying that I agree that Farrah Fawcett was another huge loss and may she R.I.P! peace!

These are my feelings on the MJ situation and celebrity in general!
Let's demystify the artist!
People let's raise the bar!
He was just a man!
He was just a star!
He didn't create the pedestal
You did!
Then you knocked it down
because he's human!
He's just a man!
He's just a star!
He left you with something
bigger than him!
He gave you his art, love, and hope!
You only saw the grim!
He's just a man!
He's just a star!
He died alone and banished
by the world he knew!
He was accused of things
of debatable truth!
He's just a man!
He's just a star!
He gave of himself like a man!
He played your shining star!
He sank into darkness like any man
whose world turns on his heart!
He's just a man!
He's just a star!
He splits the sides in two
but no side knows the truth!
He should be respected for his art!
That's what he did contribute!
He's just a man!
He's just a star!
MJ, Rest In Peace!
Forget the world and sleep!
As a man your creations seap
into our creative conscious deep!
He's just a man!
He's just a star!

I wrote this because I love art and I believe that it transcends celebrity! IMO, A persons art should leave a trail and not his actions! I especially see this now where WE built up an icon and after leaving our existence we still find it tasteful to publicly trash him as if we never expected him to be human in the first place! I would love to have a thread about celebrity in art in general! Hopefully, you'll feel free to contribute! Peace!

Communication
Posted:

I've learned that sometimes you are with a partner that is volatile at communication and it leads you to other means of trying to figure out what to do. I've learned that when the communication gets to that point that the solution is to walk away because if you are meant for each other the ability to communicate will be there in the first place.

My question to you is.....
Posted:

Hi, my name is Bryan! From the few post I've made on here I'm potentially a whiner, troll, drama king, attention whore, etc. Here is my perspective about the issue! I use these forums as a sort of blog to project my feelings and regardless of the outcome seeing what I write helps me to put things in perspective! I put myself into someone elses world and gamble on getting a golden nugget of advice! Not one poster has any way of knowing what piece will be most beneficial to me so a VARIETY of replies is beneficial to me! I find that I try to be as humble as I can even when the advice is harsh and I don't lash out at people who give it to me! I do try to give more perspective in response to what they say because the more info I give the more they can add. I find the one thing that is the most helpful is when people give personal experiences that reflect how they overcame or figured something out! When someone says "Just be confident!" or something that pointed I always think "Well great, were you born that way!" or "Where did you find yourself waking up and getting that"? I crave perspective! I also wish that people would realize that common sense is thrown around like we all learn the same! If people just learned that people learn best from not being judged then the world would be a better place and people would actually be better human beings through others kindness! Sorry, if that last comment is too bleeding heart! lol Peace!

New Music. On It's A**e

I'm sorry guys but I just don't get why I can't ever find a forum out their where "music lovers" do anything but rant about how much music sucks blah, blah, blah....! Where are the "Music fans" that just can't get enough of the medium altogether! The addicts! The ones who just feel the art rather than being pretentious about how the same tired groups are the ones who will never be topped! Maybe it's because a lot of you guys are musicians and it becomes a craft rather than an art! Maybe you are just jaded! I don't personally know! Zzzzzz! Have your favorites but add to the plate! I love the old stuff, the new stuff, the alternative, the rock, the rap, the alternative, the dance, the adult alternative, the electronic, the pop, the country, the disco, the classical, etc. I may not like Celine Dion, for example, but I don't make a thread about it! I may make a tongue in cheek reference or a remark about but I'd rather explore, explore, explore new music than waste my time on not liking her! That's my rant on ranting! lol Peace!

R.I.P. MJ! I don't care about your infamy! I respect your legacy! When it comes to artist it's about time that society respects an individuals work and creative genius over their personal life! We put talent on such a pedestal only to knock them off and forget what attracted us to them in the first place! MJ, you helped me appreciate pop music! Peace!
