Are Northerners more Dirty?
Posted: 10/31/2008 11:49:21 AM
Of course northerners are dirtier, its a poorer place to live we all have outside loos and no electric. Got to keep the myth going that it's grim up north. Otherwise we'd be invaded by all those southerners wanting somewhere nice and friendly to live.

There certainly would be if it was my daughter and I'd planned it right, he wouldn't be doing it ever again

taliban and canadian elections
Posted: 9/13/2008 12:05:20 PM
More bullshit, Spain did not vote their govt out because of fear of more terrorist attacks they voted them out because they didn't think they should have gone into Iraq in the first place and the govt ignored the protests, also the way the govt reacted after the Madrid bombs. You fail to mention there have been terrorist attacks in Spain long before 9/11 and the long before the Madrid train bombing. There have been attacks since too have you ever heard of ETA? Do you know anything of the politics of Spain? The Spanish people were angry at their govt for lying to them about who committed the atrocity, again do you know who ETA are? What is more to point there are still Spanish soldiers in Afghanistan. You could google it but I suspect you have already made your mind up and don't want any inconvenient facts to get in the way.
But back on track I think Canadians will treat the threats with the contempt they deserve.

Hijack and obfuscation of the truth, yes the terrorists called for Spain to remove their troops yet you forget to mention the protests in Spain before the invasion not to go in to Iraq, long before the terrorists even thought about Spain. Well muslim ones anyway ... Mustn't forget about the ETA. You forget over the water, a lot of European and other countries have been living and coping with terrorism long before 9/11. What do you have against Spaniards and Spain whatever? Whatever you think or have been told the Madrid bombing was not capitulation of Spain to terrorism.
In essence you do what you can to prevent it, but don't let it affect how you think or believe nor should it affect the actions you take in accordance with your own beliefs.

Sorry Sanderick thats a thread hijack the spaniards did not vote out their govt because of the attack. The spanish were already pissed off for the govt taking them into iraq and the govt lies after the attack. But this a whole other thread.
However what should you do? Did the Taliban say which party to vote for? If not its a pointless question anyway. But anyway you do what any good democrat does you vote according to your concience and who you think is best suited to telling you what to do and what is right or wrong for the next few years where can you can do it again. In between do as you are told and obey whatever laws they pass

Murdered, her history ends here. But Leila was a hero
Posted: 9/12/2008 11:35:47 AM
An excellent question.
Should the U.S. or other modern countries, place a Women's Rights Stipulation upon any Aid that is given to a country's government?

Two obvious problems with this, the first being if you do it is no longer "aid" but a bribe.
The second is if a govt refuses to change their constitution and you refuse the aid who will suffer first and who will suffer the most? Women and children of course, so the punishment for not giving these women equal rights would be to let those same women you want to help, starve. So I would say no, better to educate the masses and then help them raise themselves you can't force civilisation (oxymoron) on to someone, only educate them to grasp it for themselves.

Bring back Tony Blair
Posted: 9/8/2008 9:47:16 AM
Anyone get the feeling we were conned back in 97? All those empty promises, Blair and Brown have continued the ****'s (maggie) policies of screw the poor and give to the rich. Get rid of them all a bunch of self serving greedy **stards the lot of them. I can see it now come the next election Cameron gets in and we all look back fondly on the days of labour wondering what the hell went wrong. Face it, no matter who gets in we're going to get screwed... again

I can't believe some of the reactionary and frankly disgusting attitudes to those less fortunate than yourselves of some people on these forums. Who gets to decide who gets sterilised? I wouldn't want something liike that on my concience and I don't begrudge the small percentage of my tax that goes to those less well off. I do begrudge the super rich getting tax breaks etc no one bothers about that, why sterilise those too they take more from your pocket than people on benefits. Maybe its because the poor make a better scapegoat. While you are at it why not go the whole hog and if you lose your job just euthanize your whole family? Much better than upsetting some greedy **stard who has to pay for all those "scroungers"

Talking to Iran... and others
Posted: 9/6/2008 2:57:22 PM
I used to chat in the yahoo forums and others but most of those have become quite restricted these days, but I still have "e"friends from around the world from them. A shame really because as a well travelled sort of person (I used to be a roadie).
I have been to a lot of of foreign countries. In fact I've probably visited more slums (it was a punk band) around the world than I could count. One thing I always used to do no matter where we where was to find the nearest local non music bar and have a drink and try to chat to the locals. No matter where we went I found that people are just people a few are good most are just average take them or leave them and a few are **stards, exactly like you get in your home town or even your close circle of friends. We all want very similar things in life our kids to do better than we did etc. One very useful bit of info if you are travelling abroad you need very few words to get by in most countries. Please and thank you, hello, good bye, will serve you well where ever you go. (beer and you are pretty girl used to work too) English is the most popular international language and it is likely you will find someone trying to learn it where ever you end up. But politeness doesn't cost and does open doors.

Unreasonable time with kids??
Posted: 9/6/2008 2:35:37 PM
unlike my ex who whilst more than happy to share his 17 seconds during conception..
I just sprayed beer over my monitor reading this. (no wonder I'm still single )
5 days out of 30 is unreasonable - it's not even close to being enough. It's sad for your kids that he doesn't want to see them but you are doing the right thing by being honest with them, if you lied and made excuses for him you would just be enabling him. Honesty, while being painful at the time, doesn't grow out of proportion the way lies have a tendency to do. It's going to hurt then for a while and probably when they are at their most vulnerable time of life. But they are lucky to have you there to help get them through it. In the long run (which doesn't help for the present) it will be he that loses out as other posters have said when he decides to take more interest it's unlikely they will want to know.
I'd love to be in the gallery if he does take it to court have you called his bluff? I can just see it now.

Food For Foreplay
Posted: 9/6/2008 2:13:51 PM

We're always taught to wash our hands after going to the toilet whilst we're growing up, but I must have skipped the lesson that involved washing my hands before going to the toilet (having just chopped a quantity of fresh chillies).

I learnt that the hard way too and to cap it all my gf at the then walked into my old bedsit to see me at the sink in the corner with d**k under the cold water tap.
But on topic food for foreplay would be chocolate cake and fresh cream liberally applied and licked off, but then chocolate cake and fresh cream needs no excuse

Government should Cut All Benefits Immediately.
Posted: 9/6/2008 2:07:59 PM
If tax is at 22% that would put the op earning around 10k a month, and is jealous of someone in a 4 bedroomed 3 story house but he doesn't say its a council house or even that she's on the dole it could be inherited and have a private income, he just sounds a little envious because someone is doing less and appears to have more. How sad, better to spend your time enjoying what you have rather than envying what others others have. What percentage of your tax is spent on the dole not including sick or disabled? Unless you envy them too? Have you researched it? Do you even care or would you rather make the unemployed the scapegoats for your dissatisfaction rather than the people who are taxing you so much? Much easier to attack the weak though isn't it?

Maybe these questions have been answered in previous posts ( there are enough of them). God forbid that you ever need help and have to go cap in hand to govt for help. Couldn't happen? Recessions/depressions never happen again?

Rather than castigating everyone in that position you should castigate the ones you actually know the truth about. Keep your hatred personal not general else you are perceived to be just another wealthy bigoted abuser of the less well off. Does wealth really beget such envy? I wouldn't know as I'm far too lazy to amass anything remotely resembling wealth.

Baldness - is it an issue?

It's not really an issue as the only time the ladies really get chance to see it in detail is when your man is down there doing a spot of "tongue wrestling the clitoris" and if you're winning they tend to be a little distracted anyway

I tried that wooing thing - it doesn't work... Supposed to meet for a drink tonight but the wind got up. So I sent a text saying "Sorry I feel a bit wooey I can't make it tonight" She replied "you lying tw*t the wind is blowing and the tide is in I know where you are and I'm going to cut your lines"
See, wooing doesn't always work. Or I need more practice?

Spiritualist church
Posted: 8/23/2008 12:41:02 AM
People believe as they wish and if it helps a person get some sort of comfort from it where's the harm? The spiritualist church as an organisation is not out to con or rip people off. Granted there are some individuals that will try it but that can be said for all walks of life, so there is no exploitation either by the church. Mostly these people/practitioners genuinely believe they have contact with the spirit. For the most part they do help comfort the bereaved. As for Reiki that is not strictly a spiritualist church thing as it deals more with living spirits as opposed to the "dead" An ancient Tibetan form of healing revitalised in Japan, it is mainly focussed on channeling healing spiritual energies. Again though if it helps the person receiving it why knock it even placebos have their place in healing, would you rather disprove it to your mum so she can suffer knowing she isn't being conned?

Why Do Bald Blokes With Tattoos Appeal To Women So Much?
Posted: 8/22/2008 12:03:42 PM
Chavs and fashion? I thought that was tracksuits and burberry does that make us trendsetters?. I started going bald in my late teens and shaved my head ever since usually with clippers but if going out i'll take it down to the wood with a mach 3. Tattoos yes a few and probably more to come, also got a piercing. I think some women do like bald and tatts others don't. Generalisations are usually false. I have been contacted by a few lovely ladies some of whom have become friends and never made first contact. 1 told me i missed the **** of my life because the wind was blowing. Ah well, the chance of a "maybe" against a 20 knot wind bang onshore is no contest shrug "sorry" It does say the truth on my profile
So in the words of the song

All you gotta be is bald and proud"

I think Obama is Bungling McCain's House Scandal
Posted: 8/22/2008 1:13:34 AM
I really don't understand US presidential politics although it is very entertaining. From what I can see is basically you have two people ripping each others reputations to shreds calling each names and then you vote to let someone else decide who you think is the least incompetent?
Have you ever tried listening to what each has to say about their own policies and decide on that instead?
But after watching what we can over here I would be worried about a man who doesn't even know how many houses he owns. Would he know how many states he'd have if he won?

Good my vote is keep him alive and miserable for as long as we can. Why give him the death he craves? You want to end his suffering? I'd rather make him pay for as long a possible he doesn't deserve any merciful death. I don't agree with execution, state sanctioned death is still killing in my book, just because a bunch of politicians say it's ok doesn't make it so. Contraversery over the confederate flag.
Posted: 8/15/2008 10:59:45 AM
The English had a similar problem over the Cross of St George, from the 70s to the new century it was taken over by the fascists and nazis who wanted a "white" England. For many it was tainted and represented a racist class. But we took it back I'm English and proud and in no way shape or form am I or the many flying the flag can be considered racist. It is no longer seen to be a racist statement.
Take back your flag from the Klan and others. Don't let the racist **stards make it a symbol of hatred. By the way it was done here mainly through a grass roots movement of football fans. (The real game of football the one where you kick the ball with your feet not the american version of rugby you call football )

Russians Not to Blame for Attacks??
Posted: 8/15/2008 9:18:15 AM
As far as I can tell from the bbc is that south ossetia wanted indepedence from georgia since the soviet break up (old tribal rivalries in caucasus). They broke away in the 90s and now georgia invaded against western advice. Russia moved in but then carried on beyond and into Georgia itself. Look at the map and you can see the strategic importance both militarily and economically of Georgia.
I do find it strange that the US has made a point of ruling out military intervention, unlike Iran where they did the opposite ie made a point of not ruling it out. When I say strange I don't mean it, its obvious really Iran doesn't have the power to hurt the US like Russia still has. But that aside this was a major blunder on Georgia's part and I think the result will be Ossetia will be Russian in the end.

PUA is that similar to the crap ads you used to get in Marvel comics? Stuff like the Charles Atlas "you too can look like an Adonis and pick up girls" Or hypnosis ads "mesmerise the girl of your choice" It's adolescent fantasy time kiddies. Better learn to improve your own self esteem and respect others. Do you really think the key is to con your way into your future partners life with a load of bollox? Or is it just to get your end away? I'd rather try 100 positions with the one i love than the same position with a 100 different partners.

Posted: 8/15/2008 8:55:35 AM
I've tried a few and still WoW and yes it can take over but if you have any self discipline it won't, similar to everything else really. Personally i find it good fun and relaxing as to having a "life" define what a "life" is first. Lots of people have hobbies this is just another of them and yes some people can become obsessed but so can people who like football. Nothing glazes my eyes quicker than a football geek talking about his or her team. It's all about what your interests are just because you don't like it doesn't mean there is something wrong with other people liking it. That is a very judgemental close minded attitude. I'm waiting for the new Warhammer out in Sept. Bought Conan but I fried my high end pc shortly after so don't know if its any good. Anyone else tried it?

Rape???
Posted: 8/13/2008 2:11:14 PM
Look at the 18-30s holidays, we've all seen the pictures etc all you see are absolutely blind drunk women falling over on the floor with the tiniest skirt ever flashing off a thong, its hardly surprising some guy thinks he's in there and shags/rapes her. If you go around acting like that and wearing clothes like that, in that drunken stupor, you are inviting all sorts of trouble.
Only from predators and rapists and it's still rape. Just because someone looks gorgeous and is shitfaced does not mean they want to be raped.
In essence what you are saying is "don't wear sexy clothes and get pissed or you are asking for it" Blame the victim not the predator. I've been pissed, stoned, whatever with women in a worse state than me and never once tried it on. Lets face it anyone in that state wouldn't be much of a shag anyway. Probably about the same fun as a blow up doll unless it's the fact that you know they are incapable that turns you on. Perhaps you could go the whole hog and say that unless women are sober and wearing a burka they are asking for it.

Lets reconsider that but substitute theft or robbery for rape. I should be able to wear what I want, put my money where I want, leave my car unlocked any place I want. If I walk down the street in a rough area of town with cash hanging out of my pocket or leave cash on the seat of an unlocked vehicle or get too drunk to protect my money and allow myself to become incapable of saying no to people who ask to have it, and if I subsequently am unwillingly relieved of my cash by somebody then robbery or theft (or maybe some other form of dishonest gain) has certainly occurred.

However if I reported this as robbery or theft everybody from my neighbour to the judge would tell me I had brought it on myself through my own reckless and silly behaviour.

It's still a crime though, your stupidity doesn't make any less illegal does it?

Don't take it personal by the way unless the cap fits, it's just a response to the quotes.

Disciplinary in the work place
Posted: 8/7/2008 4:58:54 AM
Do you have a union are you in it? What was the timeline for the previous warning ie when and if it should be removed from your record? What is your contract? Were the procedures followed correctly? Do you even have access to disciplinary procedures? There are a lot of questions to be asked and answered before advice can be given. But the most important is join the union they are there to fight your corner in precisely these cases or at least my union is anyway. We have a lot of "stuff" going on but most important is personal cases, grievances and disciplinaries. If you don't have one I would seriously think about joining one though they wouldn't be able to help in this particular case unless you are already a member.

US marine removed over coin claim
Posted: 8/7/2008 2:58:50 AM
I vaguely remember this war started because Sadam had WMD, oops that wasn't true. Then it was because of his links to Al Qayeeda, ooops not true either. So then it became a war to liberate the people of Iraq from an evil dictator not convert them. The same people this marine is trying to convert to christianity which makes it a crusade now (at least for him I guess).

In a religious war, it really IS my God is better than your God.
Two problems with this quote the first being this was not a religious war - if it was you haven't even started winning yet, how many converts so far? How come the christians living there in peace before the war had to leave? What is the definition of victory in this war?
The second should be obvious The God of the Christians, the Jews and the Muslims is the same god so how can my god be stronger than your god in this case?

I do agree that this soldier was stupid though I question his bravery if he was brave he would be on his own in the market square proselitizing and giving out those coins when out of uniform Not sneaking around a checkpoint with all his buddies fully armed to back him up if he got into trouble.

It looks like the Chinese themselves have decided not to keep politics out of the games by refusing an athlete permission to enter the country. So I guess it's going to be political open season on them now.
By the way the previous protests don't count as the torch bearing has always been political ever since Hitler introduced it.

religion and homophobia hand in hand?
Posted: 8/2/2008 12:49:37 PM
Most of those people against homosexuality and who use the bible as the reason (excuse) conveniently forget other parts of the same book Leviticus where it talks about pigs being dirty and shellfish I know lots of christians quite happy to eat a bacon butty while talking about how god hates fags. What about fancying your neighbour's wife fornication in thought is the same as the deed again Leviticus. You see her sunbathing next door and naturally think phwoar are you going to pluck your own eye out?
Finally two thoughts Levituc where most of this bigotry comes fron is Ols Testament ie pre christian. Now if you are christian did not christ state in the sermon on the mount judge not lest ye be judged? Funny how that one gets forgotten a lot too eh?

The hate is there anyway religion is just a piss poor attempt to legitimise it.

"He refused to comply with the officers and so the officers had to deploy their Tasers in order to subdue him. He is making incoherent statements; he's also making statements such as, 'Shoot cops, kill cops,' things like that. So there was cause for concern to the officers."

So he's incoherent and got a broken back so obviously he was dangerous to the cops and gets tasered 19 times.

Posted: 7/22/2008 12:36:39 AM
It will be interesting to see how this works, after all people already pay to have a website. So they plan to make you pay to visit a website paid for already? The real test will be how many get prosecuted when the way round it is figured out? You can already get free access anyway all you need is a laptop and mobility. It's unbelievable how many people don't p'word protect their wirelesss.
Thats a point will the person have to pay for visiting the sites a webjacker (ooh new crime ) visits?

Dating someone who lives with his parents
Posted: 7/6/2008 9:25:56 AM
What is so wrong with living with your parents? Being brought up in a happy stable home, happy enough that you'd rather stay there than waste money on a flat you could save for a place for when you meet someone. In this modern day with prices the way they are it makes sense. It's fine in other cultures and was fine for ours not so long ago. But nowadays its the "me" ethos brought about by Maggie and continued to this day. Imagine a family staying together and helping each other through life. A couple going out to work their kids brought up by the grandparents always someone at home when the kids get home from school. No worries about daycare and babysitting. Is that so awful?
On the flip side what about women living with their parents?

Grandma, show us your new tattoo!

You go ahead and call me judgmental and closed-minded. Tattoos are stupid. They are bad choices by people looking for attention, end of story.

OK you're judgemental and close minded.

p2p downloads will get you disconnected from the internet
Posted: 7/6/2008 7:01:34 AM
It won't work and won't get stopped not in these days of wireless connections and computer illiteracy. All you need is a car and a laptop you can get your downloads for free using someone else's connection. There are so many people out there who don't password protect their netwoork it's ridiculous. Be bloody unfortunate if you lose your connection because someone had used your wireless network though. Not that I have or would ever do something like that

Wax figure of Hitler glorification or a period in history that must be remembered?
Posted: 7/6/2008 5:56:43 AM

Hitler actually did a lot of good for teh German people and for the world as a whole. You have to remember he was elected, and you also have to remember there hasn't been any other politician in history who was elected with such a strong majority.

Actually he wasn't elected, Hindenburg was in 1932, Hitler was appointed chancellor in 1933 to appease the nazis. On Hindenburg's death in 1934 Hitler abolished the office of president and appointed himself fuhrer and reich chancellor.

But back to the topic this does seem to be a pathetic sort of act but without knowing the context of where the waxwork was placed its difficult to have a say really. He could have been in the section of berlins most infamous characters or germany's best leaders, unlikely i know but it does illustrate my point.

Abuse of power?
Posted: 7/6/2008 5:42:00 AM
This is a great idea, there's this man down our street he hasn't actually done anything wrong but his wife is gorgeous. All I have to do now is report him for acting suspiciously then when he gets the extra ordinary rendition treatment, I can go comfort his wife Or get his job/house etc. Of course no one in our free society would dream of doing that would they?

The govt are only protecting you from terrorism. They have this plan see. The terrorists hate our freedom. So the govt take away our freedom so that the terrorists have no reason to hate us anymore and won't attack us anymore.

Its worth remembering:

"The world is a dangerous place to live in;
not because of the people who are evil,
but because of the people who don't do anything about it"

Albert Einstein but hey what does he know?

Free the Gitmo270

These people cannot be called soldiers. Their allegiance is not to a country but to a terrorist ideal. They do not have formal uniforms and no central command structure. To use the term soldier is disingenuous. But does illustrate a lack of knowledge.

What would be considered "participation" or "involvement" in terrorist acts.
Planning?
Equipping?
Moving equipment is support of an act?
Aiming the gun?
Pulling the trigger?
Teaching someone how to build bombs?
Recruiting people to blow themselves up?

These people are not soldiers, but terrorists, bent on killing and disrupting the current government in the hopes of gaining control of the country, and imposing their religious law.

How do you know that? They haven't been charged or had a fair trial. You are basing it on what the current administration are telling you. The current administration doesn't really have that good a record where the "truth" is concerned (reasons for war with Iraq) do they?

The Fable. We Need Many Migrant Workers.
Posted: 7/2/2008 11:57:12 AM
Why is it always the illegal immigrant at fault? All they are doing is what anyone else would do in their position. Working hard to earn a crust. The fault is not with these people working for nextto nothing to feed their families. The problem is greedy bosses they would rather pay an illegal immigrant a pittance than a legal worker a decent humane salary. Why is that? Greed they want to squeeze every cent of profit they can. If you really want to stop illegal immigrant workers then hammer the greedy **stards hiring them. Make the punishment so high they can't afford to be caught. If there is no work for them they'll go elsewhere looking for work. Or alternatively keep on blaming the immigrants and it will never end. If I was in that situation I would do any work I could get for my family rather than see them starve and I suspect a number of you otherwise law abiding citizens would do the same for their families. So punish the greedy **stards hiring them not the poor **stards being exploited.
