FORUMS: Redundant Threads - Why not get rid of old ones?
I have come to pof a few times... not a regular by any stretch of the imagination and not really actively trying to meet anyone here but I have, out of interest come to the forums.
My observation is that only old threads with a bazillion pages/posts remain... and it's boring as every opinion on there has been debated etc. The second observation and it's what causes the first observation is that most new posts get deleted.
my two cents worth

Recovering From Abuse

I don't pretend to even comprehend what you've been through... and feel sorry you had to go through whatever you went through... celebrate the fact you are out of the relationship now.
my worthless opinion... (you know what they say... opinions are like buttholes...everyone has one).
Not to diss on your guy you just met... he may turn out to be the best person in the world... buttttttttt
my thoughts are that you need time for YOU
you need to heal
and maybe he is part of the healing... i just think it could complicate the situation or have you defer dealing with it
because this is such a traumatic experience... don't rely on the opinions of pof to give you a solid answer (no disrespect for the helpful souls here... everyone means well i'm sure) but I would get professional counciling (sp) and more importantly have a support group that you should go to and meet with....
and to reiterate what i said at the top of the post... "Celebrate" the fact you had the strength to break free.

who cares what a therapist thinks... the more important issue is what do you think?

Why men don't date strong women...
Posted:

to be honest... i find them very very sexy... but i will be honest... intimidating... must be the fragile male ego... i guess i wonder when she'll move on to someone better... the old trust thing you know.... just my two cents worth.

Reading your partner's emails...how serious an offence?
Posted:
2/12/2008 3:20:19 PM
Interesting situation....
on one hand the first response would be wtf!?
if I had something to hide I'd be like Oh ****... what did she see!
but more than anything I think I would be intrigued (sp?) that this woman is actually that interested in me that she wants to know what's in my emails... obviously she is interested... perhaps worried... maybe insecure... or maybe trying to see how I tick... anyway you slice it (unless you are dating some whacked out stalking physco, which you probably aren't as you would have discovered this well before 2-3 months), what is shows me is this person is giving themselves to me... investing more... and for one reason or another... either wants to insure that before they give more... I'm on the level... i.e. no hidden secrets etc.... or just wants to know more about me. So I say cool.
I would bring it up to her... not in a threatening or embarrassing way to her.... and ask her what does she want to know... let me know and I'll tell her.... I don't have anything to hide and if she wants to read my emails... cool... maybe she can filter out my junk mail too!!!

Adults living at home with Mom and Dad
Posted:
2/12/2008 3:11:44 PM
As a guy... I think a guy living at home as an adult (apart from some temporary extraordinary event or to look after an ill parent) is bizarre and would have to believe this person has something majorly and emotionally wrong with them. If I met a lady who was living at home... the same thing applies. I'd have to ask why... just in case there is a valid reason... but seriously... my bias would be this person is emotionally stunted and I would not ... WOULD NOT be having a relationship with this person.... (unless of course I wanted to inherit some instant parents

Why do men ruin relationships with video games?
Posted:
2/12/2008 3:00:13 PM
Video games are great if you are a pimple faced teenager or twenty something... I used to get into the "old" ...lol games years ago and they are addictive..... I just don't have the time to invest into them and don't know how anyone outside of the two groups I mentioned above do... I mean I bought a Wii because it's cool... but I think I've played it a total of 1 hour max.... I can think of other things (smiles) I'd rather be doing with my free time.
