Are you not of your generation musically speaking
Posted: 4/5/2009 10:33:03 PM
Most of the people within five years north or south of my age range seem to be into the hip-hop and pop stuff, and I'm mostly a rock/metal person, with a little pop here and there.. so not really part of it quite so much.

IS it me or should HIP HOP be DEAD YET?
Posted: 4/5/2009 10:26:29 PM
I would honestly say I think hip hop should have died when Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac did.

Those were the only rappers I've heard in the past who I would actually still enjoy listening to today.

Any Grunge Lovers?
Posted: 4/5/2009 10:25:33 PM
I love my own fair share of Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Stone Temple Pilots.

Favorite grunge album is Pearl Jam's "Ten." No idea of a favorite grunge song but I would probably have to go with STP's "Plush" or Pearl Jam's "Alive," though I also love Alice in Chains' "Man in the Box" and "Rotten Apple."

Anyone read Angels & Demons? Other suggestions?
Posted: 4/5/2009 10:22:14 PM
I know, the book isn't the newest in the world, but I must say, I'm only about 1/4 of the way through it so far but it's turning out to be one of the most intriguing books I've read in a long time.

Any suggestions of similar kinds of books?

Are there any people left that date one at a time?
Posted: 4/5/2009 3:36:34 PM
I tend to date none at a time, at least that's how it seems lately.

Actually, I prefer to talk to the ladies one at a time, but I'll usually send out multiple messages and if I get multiple responses, I'll check in with who seems to be most interested and who seems like the most promising person.

Do you believe that there are some Good Men left ?
Posted: 4/5/2009 3:33:53 PM
Yeah, there's good men left, we just tend to get looked over for either not being overflowing with charisma, overflowing with money, looking average, or a plethora of other things that I can only theorize on.

Racism in Dating
Posted: 4/5/2009 3:32:25 PM
People are stupid. I agree that it's everyone's right to date whoever they want, racially limited or not, but whoever said those things to you were some foul people.

Is it too much to expect a level playing field?
Posted: 4/5/2009 3:19:12 PM
I'd say it is too much to expect that kind of a playing field, sadly enough. People think ill-intent only flows one way, but they are completely wrong.. it is everywhere.

IMO it's illogical when someone creates a profile and wants to chat and all that, but then when the step is taken to bring things to the next level (after all, aren't we all pretty much here for that?), they wimp out.

Does God exist?
Posted: 4/5/2009 3:13:51 PM
I proclaim agnosticism simply because if any such god exists, he/she/it/they exist outside of the realm of human discovery, and such existence cannot be proven.. and inexistence can only really be proven by searching all realms of possibility, and since any such gods are supposedly outside of the realm of human discovery, we cannot gather enough evidence to 100% say that there exists no such being.

I treat the world as if there is none, though.

Exchanging numbers crisis
Posted: 4/5/2009 3:01:00 PM
She probably won't call. I had a similar situation recently.. I fumbled a bit, the chick asked for my #.. I asked for hers next time I saw her (since it had been four days and she hadn't called), and she replied that she doesn't give hers out.

So yeah.

I'm 0-for-all. Profile review?
Posted: 8/28/2008 8:23:45 PM
Right on.. didn't really think about the whole looking for dating part lol. I only recently changed it to "Friends" though. For the vast majority of my existence on here I've had it set to "Long Term" which is ultimately the best possible outcome.

As for smiling.. I'll have to work on that.. I'm one of those weird people that have a hard time smiling unless it's really forced outta me.

I'm 0-for-all. Profile review?
Posted: 8/28/2008 6:55:35 PM
Curious. When I send a message I usually follow along something listed in the person's profile whom I contacted, especially if it's a common interest.

I don't consider myself the best looking guy in the world but I also don't think I look bad necessarily so I can't really say I see that being the whole culprit. Maybe in some cases but not this many *holds hands wide apart*.

Thanks in advance

Your PoF experience.
Posted: 6/19/2008 12:07:43 AM
Thus far...

-Talked to a gal from Ft. Wayne for a while, but nothing really became of that.
-Talked to a gal from Muncie, only to find out less than a week before we planned to meet up that she was really a homosexual male.
-Talked to & met a gal from around here, she was cool but not relationship fodder.
-TONS AND TONS OF "Read Deleted"

So overall.. so-so at best. But it's free, so I will keep hopes alive.

Online dating - a waste of time

I know exactly how you feel, Mr. Topic Creator.

I've sent tens, perhaps hundreds of messages on here, and I can remember probably two times when I didn't get a "Read Deleted."

Makes you wonder what in tarnation is up.

Feel that there is no reason for me to live
Posted: 6/19/2008 12:01:15 AM

I don't quite understand why I'm posted this to complete strangers

I do the same thing, and I think it's just our way of letting out.

I know to a lesser extent what you're going through though.. people heap on the whole "man up" thing but we're just humans as well and it's pretty damn tough putting up with so much crap after it's piled up so high.

Tell me there are women who still want this? (a chaste guy)
Posted: 6/18/2008 11:56:02 PM
I have a buddy recently who got married and his wife had saved herself. My other buddy who got married almost two years ago, his wife also saved herself. Neither of them had saved themselves, but both regret doing so (largely from being born-again Christian types).

Wife has a friend - help :-(
Posted: 6/18/2008 11:54:38 PM
I don't really see why she couldn't just be straight up about it.. I'd FAR rather a woman be forthcoming beforehand, rather than me finding it out on my own. That kills trust and gives them a very hard time convincing you that there's not something fishy going on.

No sympathy for breaking up over a married guy
Posted: 6/18/2008 11:50:54 PM
I knew a girl not long ago who decided to turn down a relationship opportunity with me for a relationship with a married man.

She lost most of my respect there and all of my friends' respect. I never liked the guy in the first place but even less so after finding out he's a married man with 3 kids.

I don't care who does it, IMO it's wrong.

Ever feel like your going to be alone forever?

Ever feel like your going to be alone forever?

All the time. I have a buddy who just got married, another one who's been there for almost two years, every gal I do know who I would date has a boyfriend, and it doesn't help that I'm pretty anti-social.

Do men resent women who make more money than they do?
Posted: 10/28/2007 5:57:05 PM
I wouldn't resent a woman regardless of her income, so long as she doesn't use her income (or mine) as a means of arguing with me.

Posted: 10/28/2007 5:55:32 PM
I'd change the "first date" area of your profile if I were you. Maybe say something about how you would go out to eat. Nothing too in-depth. Especially naming off what you would eat and what the date would eat. Or something.

Definitely not on the first date. But we all know how random people can be.
