Several times I've gotten that IM thingie box pop up and there was no message from whoever it was that was IMing me...I have always assumed I hit a key wrong or something and that I IMd them by mistake...I've always been embarassed and just closed it out....

Even then, don't do it. If you're running from the monster, expect to trip or fall down at least twice, more if you are of a female.
