I have found that dating sites are like "Ebay ", most people are shopping for the perfect person at the lowest price. I hate to tell the men out there, but Barbie is the only woman that is perfection in plastic. Real women have flaws, even Supermodels have cellulite & bad breath!

Sweeping statements? I'm feeling the stress & pressures of a typical life of a single 40~ish woman with an unending crowd of younger, slimmer "surgically enhanced" ladies in their 20's~30's. Men in their 40's (my age group) are hitting the mid~life crisis stage & out hunting for a skinny "EGO" boost to their manhood. Being a bit overweight (25 lbs) just adds to the frustration of trying to attract men. Who by the way, no matter how many physical "flaws" they have still want the perfect woman.

Dating online has become like posting a resume for a job! Seems like everyone "twicks" (little white lies?) their profile to make themselves sound more attractive to a possible employer (man &/or woman). Read between the lines & trust your intuition about "red flags". If it sounds to good to be true it's probably false. Take everything with a few grains of salt. The only thing you can be sure of is yourself (your own honesty & motives).

Stats on the average size of adult woman in America is a SIZE 14/16. Hate to tell you that a SIZE 2 isn't normal unless she is petite & 5 ft or under, only eats celery, consumes large amounts of diet pills or exercises 5 hours a day non~stop!

Maybe you just haven't turned over the right ROCK yet, gmoneygeorge! LOL! I have found that people are "bargain shopping" for a great deal at a low price. Or they aren't really interested in meeting (in person & in public) , just out here to goof around, be silly & chat in general.

I've been on my fair share of internet dates, mostly for coffee @ Starbucks. Navy Seal dating, get in~get out & no one gets their feelings hurt if you don't like each other. Sitting thru dinner with someone that you're not attracted to can be awkward & sometimes painful. I'm a very cheap date, I can afford to buy my own Latte! LOL!

OMG! Someone replied to this post! I was starting to think i had been voted off the island! LOL! No one showed up last night except for a friend of mine from work. We sat out on the deck, laughed & chatted til after 9pm. One more Wednesday left in May, after that i guess i'll stop trying since no one seems interested in coming out but me (& maybe Ctorj49).

I like a creatively descriptive & engaging profile with a taste of their personality & character. I don't really put much stock in pics. Some people just don't photograph well & present a better image in person. You never really know who or what they are til you meet them anyway.

I feel your pain & frustration SSCOTTO & i totally understand where you're coming from. I have the same profile posted & running on multiple dating sites (all as nicenurse64). It's hard to get serious responses for actual public meetings between 2 people!

I tried to be myself & honest about who & what i am in my profile. People can take anything you write as a positive or negative from their perspective. If they are interested, they will email or move on to the next profile. I look at Net/Web dating as a version of human Ebay. "If you like the profile/pics, you're choice to make a BID or not".

I drive a 93' Nissan Sentra (or i would be if i could afford the new clutch it needs installed), til then i am sharing the use of my son's car. I live in a 3 bedroom double~wide & wear $25 jeans bought @ Walmart! I completely understand you're frustration because i have gotten the same reaction from men about my lifestyle/economic situation. I'm lower~middle class, paycheck to paycheck with not much wiggle room to spare.

Yep! I work 3 (12hr) night shifts 7p~7a Fri.Sat.Sun., it does put a small cramp in trying to have a social life but i try to find things to do during the week To get out & meet people.
