Starbucks goes Instant
Posted:

Starbucks is good but Mc Donalds coffee is soooooooo good and much cheaper. Plus, they'll put in the cream and sugar for you. No one mentioned Tim Horton's. Now they have great coffee too. We have SpeedWay gas stations and 7-11's that also make great coffee so there's no way i'll pay Starbucks prices. As far as what I make at home, I just buy what's on sale and it's usually Kroger's brand. Not bad. I love coffee but since i'm old now I can't really drink it past 5 in the evening or I won't be able to sleep. lol I refuse to drink decaf.

Your favortie cooking website

I only use Allrecipes.com. It's easy to use and I love how everything is reviewed. I often use the changes people make and there's a place where you can type in personal notes on what you changed so it'll print out on the recipe. Lord knows I can't remember 10 mins ago so this is definately helpful. lol This site also has a recipe box so you can keep track of what interests you that you might not be ready to print out yet. It's a five star rating system and I'll only make 4 stars and higher. Love, love, love this site.

Clemintines are wonderful but so expensive. They want $8 a box here so I'll wait until they are on sale. They do peel super easy, are sweet and I've never had a seed yet.

Daycare is driving me crazy!
Posted:
11/30/2008 10:42:16 AM
I'm new on this forum but I wanted to put my two cents in. I've worked with kids of all ages, environments and development for 5 yrs now and trust me, the parents rule above all else. They want your business and like it or not, money is the bottom line these days. I wouldn't waste time talking to the daycare workers because they are just following rules and even if a parent is angry at something they still need to understand that. I would go to the person right above them with this problem. If it can't be handled with that person then go one step higher. I know from previous experience, if the boss hears from an upset parent exceptions will be made for that child and we're happy to do it but we can't make that decision ourselves. I know this is a rather older post but I'd love to hear what the outcome is so please keep us posted. Best of luck

Best Pizza Place in Your Hometown
Posted:
11/17/2008 3:44:14 AM
I thought Calvino's was more of a wine place unless there's also a Calvino's pizza place. Anyways in Toledo the best pizza right now is from Vitos. They're a chain and pretty new to the area but it's all in the sauce and they've got the best so far. If you like your pizza a little greasy then the best place is Gino's Pizza. It's been around since I was a kid. Yummy spaghetti and i would assume yummy subs too but the pizza's so good I never wanna try much else when I treat myself. lol

My mom has always made her Banana cream pie using 2 large boxes of banana cream pudding(instant). She leaves out a little of the milk and adds a big spoonful of cool whip to the mixture and of course bananas. Pours it all into a graham cracker crust and tops with cool whip. Very delish and easy.

She brings her friend on the date.
Posted:
9/28/2008 6:43:28 AM
Her friend could of been her "rescue" in case the date wasn't going well. I don't know about men but sometimes women arrange ahead of time for her friend to call with an "emergency" or show up so we have an easy exit available. If I was having a good time with a guy I would of called my friend and asked her not to show so I could have him to myself. Sorry you drove all that way for nothing.

Is there such thing as Chocolate buttercream icing?
Posted:
9/23/2008 3:19:43 AM
Mia Allrecipes.com will have chocolate buttercream icing and it'll be rated 1 to 5 stars so you'll know which one is the best. The recipes are all reviewed by people like us so maybe you can pick up a tip or two also. I get all my recipes from this site and only choose the ones with 41/2 to 5 stars. Always winners.

Posted:

First of all i've noticed you took your picture down and hid your profile all of a sudden. Why? If you did this so your ex wouldn't realize it was you who slept with his friend, i'm sure it's too late. Second, don't put all the blame on this guy you slept with by saying he had alterior motives to take advantage of you. Unless you drank so much you were in a coma, you knew what you were doing and who with. We all have made stupid decisions in our lives we just want to forget but you brought this to the forums so everyone would know and yet you're upset because this guy is flappin his jaws?? As painful as it is, move on and stop waiting for your phone to ring. Each day will get easier and you'll be better for it.

Stop blaming the alcohol for a stupid action. You wanted to sleep with him or you wouldn't of done it, plain and simple. This guy dumped you, you weren't cheating and you owe him no explaination or apologies. That guy you slept with is an idiot. He plays juvenile high school games by telling people he slept with you and proud he's doing it. Distance yourself from both these men, find your pride and self esteem and take a break from dating for a little while. You can do better for yourself if you believe you can. Never settle for less than you're worth. There's a good man out there for you when you're ready and have taken care of yourself first.

Posted:

Ok, You seriously need to stop telling us you guys have great, awsome, fabulous sex. We don't care and if you think a guy can ONLY have that kind of sex with just one person at a time and you're baseing the stability of your relationship on that, then you do have problems. If he was happy and content with the relationship he would of changed his profile or deleted it. Take your blinders off and save your dignity. There's never just one red flag so stop allowing him and yourself to make excuses. It is what you're thinking and you know it.

Chili Cheese Dip...adjust sizes for amount of people
1 small brick of mexican velveeta
1 can of any chili (I bet the campbells roadhouse chili would be great. They have spicy ones)
Melt velveeta in microwave and add chili. That's it and eat with doritos. Some of the spicier doritos would be perfect
Taco Roll Ups
1pkg 8-10 inch flour tortillas(10 in a pkg)
1 pkg of cream cheese
few tablespoons of Picante sauce. (you can buy the hot or mild flavor)
1/2 pkg taco seasoning
Mix all together and spread a little more than a tablespoon down the middle of a tortilla and roll. Cut roll into 6-8 bite size pieces. Always a huge hit and makes 60-80 pieces from one pkg of tortillas.
What about buying lil smokies and some good chili like the campbells roadhouse chili and pouring the chili over the smokies? they can use tooth picks for the mini chili dogs. Bushes has great chili in a jar but since you like it spicy campbells is the way to go.

Does Being Married More Than Four Times Make You Less A Person For A Relationship
Posted:
9/7/2008 8:19:16 AM
Sorry, but 4 times would be a deal breaker for me also. In my eyes it's the same saying if I would be dating a man who cheats....if he's cheated before he'll cheat again and I couldn't change a man like that. If you've married so many times in the past, what makes me think I could be the one who changes you and you won't divorce me? I'm glad you found someone to love throughout your life, but it couldn't of been true unconditional love cuz maybe you would of fought for it. I'm 39yrs old and haven't found one person I could give myself to like that for the rest of my life. I've been in love a few times and have had long relationships but in the end it just couldn't be a forever love. We don't have divorce in my family so I guess that's why I'm not in a hurry and won't settle. If it happens wonderful! If not, i'm happy too.

LOL doesn't matter Madskillz. We're all getting some great ideas for future use. I've tried some recipes using the crab meat in a can and it was a little fishy tasting so I just use the imitation crab meat and dice it. I also use the imitation crab meat to duplicate the seafood subs you get at subway. I mix it with light miracle whip and add chopped black olives and few banana peppers. YUM!

so she was quit(quiet) and you couldn't figure out what was wrong? After a few days earlier you tell her you want out of a 16 yr relationship?? I'm sorry you weren't happy anymore and if you've done all you can to turn things around then yes, get out but don't get mad if she's with someone else and the timing isn't convienent for you. Perhaps one of you needs to move out so you can start your own lives again.

You keep your focus and strength by doing what's best for the baby and you. By demanding better for yourself and for that the baby will reap the benefits also. My baby just turned 18 yrs old this month. I wrote her a letter full of advice for these important yrs to come and memories of how proud she made me. I also told her she saved me when she was born. I knew I had to give her the best life I possibly could and in doing that I demanded better in every part of my life for myself in these last 18yrs so I could lead by example. I"m not telling you to leave this man but always demand the very best for yourself. It's scary and you always second guess yourself but if you believe you're a strong woman, you can do anything. Do everything you can to try to save this relationship so you're not left with "what if's". Either way, I hope it works out for you

Where were u living before you met him? Were you able to pay the bills before he came along? Also, you should really change your profile. That's not showing commitment on your part or honesty. What about assistance? I know no one WANTS to go on Welfare but it's there for people who truely NEED it. You can get help with groceries, utilities and some counties offer cash help for 2 yrs. You can do this if need be, on your own. Pretty soon your focus will need to be on raising your child and the environment you put him/her in and not on you and your partner and the lack of emotional commitment coming from him. I'm sorry you have to go through this now and having it prevent you from all the joy of becoming a mom can bring but don't waste your life and your time being unhappy. You are now someone's mom, forever, and he/she needs you to be whole and happy and sacrificing for them not for an ungrateful man who doesn't enriche your life but adds heartache and problems. Best of luck and love to you and your little one.

banana muffins/bread
Posted:
8/18/2008 12:29:38 PM
I had one problem with my bread. After a few days the bananas in it turned black. I couldn't bring myself to eat it after that. Did I use too many bananas? I used Jenn's recipe which I think called for 3 bananas and then used Sandericks idea of adding the 4th banana last min. I can't use these as holiday gifts if it's going to be black and yucky. any suggestions??

That recipe has been in my family for decades Deena, except we use it as a chip dip.
1pkg of cream cheese
1 jar of sliced green olives
little bit of milk to thin it out
a few dashes of garlic powder to taste
Always a huge hit and tried and true
Here's another one that makes 80 appetizers
1 large pkg of Budwig Beef slices (the 40 serving size pkg)
2 pkgs of cream cheese
1 small jar of sweet pickle relish
Mix cream cheese and pickle relish together. Using back of a spoon, spread some in the middle of the meat. Roll and cut in half. continue with rest of pkg. Always popular

wow, they come up with new words for old problems everyday don't they? I've been FUBAR'd a time or two, but i'm good right now. I feel bad for this guy. That's no way to live and definately not a good thing to allow someone this much power. She's sucking the life right out of you and u guys aren't even dating. This is your life that you're wasting. Think about it...she's enjoying hers whether you like it or not, why are u slowly failing to exist? I know you want her back desperately but you very well could be passing up someone who's great for someone who's not.

Sending text message for b-day That was sweet

If" sweet= nice with some personal thought or heart into it" then sweet doesn't even cover what he did. He didn't put any heart or personal thought into texting a message to her. He stated they've gone out 5 or 6 times in a month or so. That's alot of "getting to know you" time and they obviously liked each other to spend this time together. I don't know, hopefully we're all overreacting and she truely didn't mind his way of saying happy birthday. You can get a .99 cent card anywhere these days and even on my bad days i'm worth a whole $1.00.

I might not of spelled any of those fabulous dishes correctly but they're all wonderful. I could eat lebanese food everyday.

LOL you are so right, mindless. Sometimes with a woman, ok with me lol, It's all in how it's said or in this case text. Did she say thank you, that was sweet or just, that was sweet? Anal, perhaps, but trust me how she did it means something. Obviously things were going great between you 2 so why not slip a card in her front door or mailbox for her to find? IT'S HER BIRTHDAY. Time for you to shine my man and show her how sweet and thoughtful you can be. No need to go over the top since you guys are in your early dating stages but come on, a text? You guys are still trying to impress each other. Just remember, it's always the thought that counts, never the money.

cooking for my marine.. HELP!
Posted:

I promise you, the cooking website you'll go to time and time again is Allrecipes.com. You can scale each recipe up or down, every recipe is rated 1 to 5 stars and all have reviews from everyday people telling how they liked it, hated it and/or changed it. I use it constantly and only make 4.5 or 5 star recipes. I get rave reviews thanks to them with everything I make. Also, it's easy to navigate and not just a bunch of recipes mixed together running down your screen. You'll love it

omg....hummus without tahini and olive oil?? That's like pizza without the delivery number
I know there can be many variations on this yummy stuff but if you're leaving out 2 main ingredients please don't call it hummus.

dbndon, I agree totally with you. What a great analogy. However, I think we actually have more patience breaking in the shoes than we do with human beings. My daughter's almost 18 and I've always tried to lead by example in many things but especially with dating. She's been dating this guy for almost 3yrs now and he has every excuse as to why he's not succeeding and all of it is someone else's fault. Thank god it hasn't rubbed off on her but they break up and make up almost on a weekly basis. I know they're both young but I still try to help her realize, this isn't a healthy relationship and it's not suppose to be this much work. It should flow and you should BOTH be contributing and not bailing everytime there's a problem. I worry about her because as you say, they're both comfortable and use each other as a crutch instead of finding or demanding better for themselves. We all do this at some point in our lives I suppose. However, when you're on the outside looking in, like I am with my daughter, you realize just how much you're short changing your own happiness. With age comes wisdom from what I hear. lol

Office romance and break ups. A simple question.

Do we ever get too old to play games? Saying hello would be the ADULT thing to do. If it should open up unwanted communication between you two then simply tell her, If it's not work related you don't have anything to say to her and you'd like to keep your relationship strictly business. She knows what she did and if you verbalize only what you want from her it should be enough. You're almost 40yrs old. Do you really need to make this public by asking questions you already should know the answers to? Take the high road, always, and don't play games.

Dude, my thought is, she's sick. She might be the only person in the world to get sick on a saturday night, so I see why you're confused and paranoid, but it's bound to happen to someone you know eventually. Don't mess this up and let her know you're getting paranoid. Just tell her you hope she feels better and is there anything she needs?

Smiling, I am interested. Between my mom, me and I work in a high school and elementary school so I plan on doing a supply drive, we should be able to help them out.
