It's OFFICIAL - Pentagon: No Iraq/al-Qaeda
Posted: 4/11/2007 8:18:17 PM
you are right in a way, but yes, there is Syrian maryrs and Iranians running weapons into Iraq-- WE CAUGHT THEM WHEN I WAS THERE! yes, alot are form Jordan (we routinely found 155mm artillery shells boxed in military cargo boxes reading "the republic of Jordan" in homes of insugents we raided in the night), but you discount the neighboring influences. And yes, they go to kill Americans, they don't care about welfare of that nation or Iraqis themselves. They just want to kill Americans. They fight guerilla tactics (carobombs, suicide bombers, IED's, etc) because they know they cannot stand toe to toe with the American military. They don't even think they can kill all of us, they just want to slow us down in our operations and hope to eventually "change our minds" and get us to leave the Islamic world. As far as to the satements that there was no intel EVER, you are wrong. It was outdated intle, no doubting that claim, and yes, there were NBC capabilities in progress pre-invasion Iraq. Small scale, not a threat to the mainland US, but that little intel got blown out of proportion, and the president executed knowing what he knew, be it correct or not. I also do not dispute your statement of no Iraq-al qaeda link pre-911. There wasn't. Never was. There are al-qaeda in Iraq now, and no, the Iraqis would not "turn their wrath" on them. We thought fundamentalism would be stamped out in Afghanistan in the late 80's after Russia left, but instead, they took control! No, Iraqis would welcome their Islamic brothers. They would resent outward influence, but would gladly take Muslim guests over "soldiers of the Cross" as they call us. The radicals from other nations would grab a foothold in Iraq, and then it would be a haven for terrorism just like other nations in that area. The Iraqis are not ready to assume responsibility yet. There are a strong population that is willing to stand up and do something, but there are still alot of undecided people that are on the fence wether to support a comprimise between Sunni and Shia or just to bomb the other guys until their side wins.

It's OFFICIAL - Pentagon: No Iraq/al-Qaeda

the above comment has some truth and some half truths in it. The Iraqi people, the neutral civilians, like Americans as a people, but do resent an occupying force that draws foriegn fighters in, causing mayhem in their streets and killing innocents. They are just like you or I-- they want to run their shops, send their kids to school, and not worry about getting blown up by a Syrian in a suicide carbomb. The Syrian/Egyptian/Iranian/Saudi/whatever fighter doesn't care about the economy of Iraq, or it's future, they just see it as a center stage to try to kill Americans. However, we went into Iraq with the best info possible AT THE TIME. JUDGING BY THE INTEL, WE WERE RIGHT TO GO IN. There were weapons of mass destruction, they got shipped to Iran as we crossed in to Iraq. Several of Saddam's generals have now said so. It was a small program, surely not a threat to mainland USA, but the itelligence community blew it out of proportion and that's how we got involed in Iraq. Simply for a news story. SO there was no al-Qaeda presence in Iraq pre-2003. THERE IS NOW, NO QUESTION. The insurgency is fueled by foriegn dollars, alot of which are DRUG RELATED (see Afghanistan's massive opium fields) by elite al-qaeda representatives sent to slow America's potential progress against al-qaeda interests. If we are tied up in Iraq, we can't really focus on the other areas where al-qaeda is making it's money and growing it's numbers (afghanistan, syria, jordan, IRAN, pakistan, turkey). It's designed solely as a drain on American assets so the al-qaeda operatives have a better chance of spreading influence. As an Iraqi vet, I tell you-- we are there, and I'd rather create a center stage to kill al-qaeda INSIDE of Iraq rather than in AMERICA.

Turn Off The Life Support: America is Dead
Posted: 3/11/2007 7:20:07 AM
oh jeez this is so melodramatic- "another evil despot now rules the land" or some garbage like that... look, the nation is in a tight spot. It has been before. What if during WW2 the American people said, "hey, this is cramping my lifestyle, it costs too much money, we should pull out" ? Sacrifices aren't even being made here in the US! In 1942, 48% of the US gross national product was used to fight WW2. thats 48%. In 2006, 3% was used to fight the war in iraq/afghanistan. wow a whopping 3%. This generation is weak, spoiled rotten, and makes me sick. We have had it too easy for too long, and we are a fat, lazy, whining community now. Shame on you, America. Just when the going gets a little tough, you back down and give up? Not in my country. Grow up and realize that while you sit around and debate what flavor of ice cream to buy and what tv show to watch tonight, there are MILLIONS around the world just wondering where there next meal is going to come from. And wondering if militia death squads are going to pay their house a visit tonight. If no one will stand up against these leeches that rob the developing world, what hope does the WORLD have? none. If we would have stood idly by and watch hitler conquer Europe, sure, no Americans would have died in combat, but a tyrant, a real one, would have seized power of an entire HEMISPHERE and drained it for all it was worth, all for his personal gain. So, no, America is not dead.

is iran considerd an enemy
Posted: 2/8/2007 12:41:38 AM
yes, iran is predominantly shia. no, the insurgency is not predominantly sunni. that's what the media tells you. it's universal. the gov't of iran HARBORS the al-qaeda middlemen who fund and arm the IRAQI insurgency, not just sunni or shia. to say that it is an assumption shows lack of experience.... have any of you ever been to iraq??? the insurgency envelopes men, boys, women, girls, shia, sunni, old, young, poor, poorer whatever you name it we saw it. the shia would much rather help the sunni kill us than vice versa. the sunni/shia fued is overplayed by the media... they both want us gone, THEN they can fight amongst themselves.

is Iran considered an enemy
Posted: 2/1/2007 2:48:58 PM
iran is a key route in which the weapons that are fueling the insurgency are funneled through. alot of al-qaeda frontmen reside in iran, pumping the neighbor to the west (iraq) with weapons, money, and more foriegn fighters. also, study a map. who else is next to iran? hmm afghanistan who happens to be a top supplier of opium, which the profits from are being used by the druglords/arms dealers (one in the same) to fund the iraqi insurgency. for the average iraqi, there is no jobs, no money. so if a foriegner offers you a month's salary to plant a roadside bomb (all taking less than 3 minutes to do), you take it-- not because you necessarily hate the americans, but because look- you just fed your family for a month. most iraqis dont like us, but dont like the foriegn influences either-- they are just tired of their homes and towns being blown up and their kids killed. iran IS a threat because it harbors these terror magnates who use the empoverished iraqis as tools in their political war against the US. going into iran would uproot a central command for the worldwide terrorist connection. sure they would just settle somewhere else, but it should be done. and Ahmadinejad is on the payroll of the region's drug barons, and as long as he sees profits, he is going to be anti-US. He isnt a proponent of anti-west religios fanaticism-- the ppl paying him are! so it is convenient for him to propel this message, because, hey, as long as he gets paid-- whatever. duh this is a war on drugs as much as it is one on terror.

A new idea... troop surge in Iraq so we can win the war...
Posted: 1/20/2007 10:00:24 AM
great idea actually. i hated iraq, trust me, but we were so shorthanded it was a joke to think we had everything under control. its gonna get better with more people. now it will be harder to smuggle in the weapons that are fueling this fire. and hey, its time to go get some ... those f*cks will learn lol

What will come first female president or black president.
Posted: 1/20/2007 9:31:37 AM
probably black only because the minority population in the US is quickly becoming the majority. I dont thin k it will hapen in 2008, for either. America isnt quite ready for a woman prez-- only because of the tradiotional idea of the president is a man. not to say a woman wouldnt make a fine prez, just, i dont think the majority of the us voters would vote for one. And Hilary is a conniving evil greedy human being who is far too abrasive to get enough votes/

Would you give up your gas guzzler to end the Gulf war
Posted: 1/20/2007 9:27:23 AM
it wouldnt end the war on terror idiots. How about you stop using drugs? Thats where terror is funded. lol open your eyes. afghanistan=opium haven. trade routes for these drugs are interlocked throughout areas of operation in the middle east. so your cocaine habit or whatever is supporting the other side, not having a truck lol.

haha I love when the news media says "Marines operating around the syrian border." LMFAO For you uninformed, that means 10 to 15 miles INSIDE of Syria. hahaha Yeah, the Iraqis are pretty inept at fighting the insurgents. Kinda hard to want to fight when your brothers are fighting on the other side and are in contact with you daily.

conservatives were called fascists, were told to leave, that we had no right to be in "their streets" (meaning the protesters).. So 100 people showed up for a rally in support of the US ... so what? Are those 100 people now wrong for supporting the war and the president? NO! ITS THEIR RIGHT TO EXPRESS THEIR OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love how when anti-war protesters are confronted by pro-war demonstrators, they shut them out, throw things at them and tell them to leave. "Free speach for all unless, of course, you don't agree with me", right liberals? how true.. try and tell me thats not the way it is

let the sun continue to fry those who refuse to recognize law and order, buck the system, and think that it is their right, not priveledge, to enter the US. If you really want to become a citizen, take the test. One of the Marines in my platoon is in process of getting his citezenship, and he did it the right way, the moral way, not sneaking across in the back of an 18 wheeler.

UNITED NEGRO COLLEGE FUND
Posted: 8/19/2005 4:22:26 PM
where's the united-middle-class-white-kid-who-doesn't-have-enough-money-to-go-to-school fund?? I joined the Marines out of patriotism, but the deciding factor was the fact that I didn't (nor did my parents, who are working middle class folks) have quite enough to pay for it AND I didn't recieve financial aid because the government said my parents "earned too much" for me to recieve aid! No racism here, but it seems strange that blacks will cry foul and demand special priveledges when they feel slighted, but whites (well, at least this white kid) suck it up and pull ourselves up by our bootstraps! Isn't it more rewarding if you EARN your success, not have it given to you because you are a minority??? Sorry, I'm venting because I feel it is unfair to give preference due to color, race, or national origin. Yet the average white family is expected to foot their own bill for education. As if we make a WHOLE LOT MORE than ya'll do.... affirmative action and its cousins are PLAIN WRONG and should be illegal.............................. much love, everyone

Bin Laden Cocaine Plot!
Posted: 7/26/2005 7:00:35 PM
drugs are just another tool for the terrorists to gain wealth, power. A drugged enemy is easier to fight than a sober one, eh? They can't beat us head-to-head, but hope to undermine society as a whole and make it easier to influence. In Afghanistan, women weren't allowed to go to school- and it held them down. Now, since the free world already IS educated, the only way to destroy the resistance to their thought process is to introduce a flood of drugs into our countries. And because human beings have no self control, they will buy these drugs, and support the destuction of their own way of life........... tsk tsk druggies, terrorists, and all who support either.
