Does time really slow down close to a black hole
Posted:

Time is a relative term. Theoretically the 'time' we experience is our frame of reference, and as we get into a stronger gravitational field, outside observers would see that our "time" would appear to slow down (and as we view from the inside the 'outside' time would appear to speed up)
The problem is, if the big bang existed, that massive amount (or whatever it was) was theoretically all there was so there could be no relative frame of reference.

The worst breakup line ever
Posted:

I've got two funny lines that I've heard before:
"You are so cute! Are you shy?" (when a girl moved away and I was asking her if she wanted to try a long-distance relationship)
"I'll piss on your face if I ever see you again" (got this one over IM one time)

How can men stop having feelings so quickly?
Posted:
12/14/2008 2:04:00 PM
Oh, to be one of these men that could supposedly just turn feelings off.
If they stop having feelings that quickly then they were probably just looking for a good time. Men who are serious about a woman don't stop like that... we hurt for a long time. Eventually people don't want to listen anymore though so we just end up hiding it.

Do guys talk about how they really feel with other guys?
Posted:
11/19/2008 4:05:04 PM
occasionally - but usually with guys who are slightly older than me and are out of the 'just screwing around with a bunch of people' phase.
And they quickly get sick of me talking about it for the most part

nope. I tend to get along with girls better than guys anyway, but if I was in love... friendship with other girls... always strive to never cross that line between friendship and more than that. You don't want to ruin a good thing.

My boyfriend broke up with me by email
Posted:
11/3/2008 4:46:07 PM
"Just had the same thing happen to me. Only by a woman. "
I had the same thing happen to me a few months ago - although slightly weirder - after being really sweet for 2 months, the girl broke up with me by cancelling me on facebook. Didn't even tell me she was breaking up with me - and then a friend of hers made a comment on my profile "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger - but in the meantime, boo!".
That's sad when you can't even do so much as message someone yourself to break up with them. I'd expect something like that with someone i went on a few dates with but not someone you're serious with!

Just think... it's only a few months till Valentine's Day (or "singles awareness day"). Last time that came around, I attended an anti-Valentines day social event at a Vietnamese restaurant to avoid all the cute couples for one night.

why do men go for the ditsy thin girls?
Posted:

The men who go for the ditsy thin girls with no brains aren't looking for something real, they're probably just looking for the "other" thing. Don't worry about those guys.

I don't believe the 'big bang' ever happened...

Well if you can find scientific evidence to back up your theory then go for it. Theories get disproven. We used to think that everything in space revolved around the earth.

How is it that we go from a life in time into eternity?
Posted:
3/31/2008 7:19:08 PM
One thing about a life in time... time is relative. If you live under a strong gravitational field (i.e gravity comparable to a black hole) then to an outside observer, you would appear to go in slow motion, and you would view the outside universe as going much faster.

For me, if I try to reach out to a girl and I don't feel like she's making an adequate effort to reach back (i.e. talk only if she has nothing better to do) then that's certainly a big way to lose interest.

Prior To The Universe
Posted:
3/28/2008 7:02:50 PM
There was no one second before the big bang by theory... because the universe exists in space-time. Time began when matter and space began. (The whole deal with as you approach light speed, it appears that the atomic clock you carry runs slower to an outsider). Time is relative to both your velocity and do gravitational forces.

Do Christian Women Scare You Off ???
Posted:
3/27/2008 3:49:00 PM
If you believe your religion is superior to another you are admitting that you are no better than a biggot or racest. You would truly be a hyprocrate because you claim to love everyone yet make the claim that you are superior....
If you make the claim you are superior based on religion, I would agree that makes someone a hypocrite. (Although I say this from a Christian perspective, where it teaches that we're all sinners and in need of Christ as savior.... there is no pride to be found in how "righteous" you appear to be, as the natural man is not righteous to God)

I'd be willing to try long-distance for the right person, if we could visit each other frequently. (Ironically, the girl I was recently dating, I suggested this to her because she is now moving a few hours away, but no dice

Should disabilities be listed on profiles?
Posted:
3/23/2008 12:08:16 PM
Well, I figure if it's going to turn someone off against you, might as well be turning them off before getting to know each other. I haven't had much success on this site; I'm not sure if it's because I list that I have a health condition on my profile, but I would certainly rather have a girl not want to talk to me in the 1st place than spend a lot of time getting to know her, develop an emotional attachment, and then have her find out about it and leave because she didn't want to put up with it.

yeah I'd agree it's misleading, although to what degree it's misleading I guess it depends on what you're looking for, if you're just looking for a friend I don't think it's that big of a deal but certainly it's a big deal if looking for a relationship

Pro Bowl?
Posted:
2/10/2008 6:02:13 PM
I watched a small part of the first half. The announcers were going through the "different rules" of the pro bowl... what offensive/defensive formations aren't allowed in that game.... stuff like you can't play in formations with 5/6 defensive backs... makes the game really vanilla from a strategy perspective.
Granted to the average fan I don't think we'd notice too much, I doubt I'd ever be like "Hey why aren't they using 6 defensive backs??"

here's a theory.... people just acting too selfishly and not making the effort to please their partner before themselves. Maybe if we all did that a little more then marriages would be happier.

Catholicism vs Wiccan
Posted:
1/30/2008 4:47:36 PM
Didn't Jesus walk on water? wouldn't be that considered witch craft? Didn't he heal people just by saying so? I have seen christians being healed on tv, heck they might be a witch according to their own standards.
Well, one theme about the supernatural in the Bible is that the devil likes to mimic whatever God is doing. From a Christian perspective, witchcraft would be a cheap copy of God's true miracles, used for evil purposes.
