Religion and sex in dating
Posted: 8/19/2009 5:54:17 PM
And from this simple mind for those who cast stones or have different views: The NKJ version of my Bible and life time studying the word, makes me want to share this with all:
Did not Joseph stepped up and claimed Mary as his wife?
There where NO papers, no marriage license and or judgment on his behavior-no forgiveness required!
He Paid the tax on his wife and then they moved on-with their lives.
It does SAY when two people commit to each other verbally and have sex- then they are married in his eyes.
Again no PAPERWORK Needed!
My BIBLE says-also, for those who make mistakes in living in this world:
Ask and ye shall be forgiven of all sins- and that there is only *1* sin that we commit that is unforgivable- and that is using his Fathers' name in vain.
Simply saying-----personally I see no need to request forgiveness when loving another as he gives our hearts, minds and souls the ability to do so. I don't think Christianity establishes guidelines for the heart- It might preach right from wrong, but that too is in the eyes of the beholder when deciding on where a relationship heads and I require no assistance to tell me where my heart resides!

But I do understand the OPs concern---a twin sister can twist our hearts at their choices in life and all we can do- really *****
IS BE THERE, to share the good and the bad! Love, is, one emotion we all will share!

Do you discriminate based on age?
Posted: 8/13/2009 4:05:07 PM
Older is Soooooooooooo Much Better!
I don't have the mentally to find a younger man attractive, mentally or physically.....As for getting to know each other....
I have yet to speak with one who is concerned about his future at that age....Some are concerned with how much money
an older woman has---but that is the LANDING STRIP that they are searching for... and my sincere apologies to anyone
who is looking for an OLDER WOMAN and doesn't consider her bank account interesting!!!!

When is it appropriate to take the step of inviting new friend home for dinner/movie?
Posted: 8/13/2009 3:41:44 PM
I just couldn't past it UP, Sapphireeyes===
YOU ladies think he remembered to use a good quality CONDOM---
LOL------I mean--2 new ladies sharing the same man who has a powerful sex drive, WOnder if he has different one every night?????
I just got good laugh out of the fact that ----HE glad the CIALIS was still working!!!! LOL----I don't know, but perhaps someone with more experience than I could explain -if medically it is enhanced to help keep your BODY CLEAR of Stds'
'''''''Don't believe the fellow had that on his mind, do you and he might procure his thru the mail order business----
What a way to go!
He might wish to entertain himself with one of those BLOW UP PLASTIC BARBIE GIRLS that he knows hasn't been somewhere else the night before!!!! She be ready when he is!!!! He would just need to insert HOT AIR and away , he can go!!!!
and this Blonde thought his post was about the ability no to understand ladies when they spoke to him and I suggested discreet hearing aids.....Go figure~
Guess my IQ at 142 is being tampered with by simple encouraging thought!!!!

When is it appropriate to take the step of inviting new friend home for dinner/movie?

OP:
When ever they wish to come over is fine with me! I mean, I am as I am- and if he is the strong type---I might be tempted to spend the evening admiring his muscles.....course we can always watch a DVD, swing on the porch or take a walk in the woods. And if my housekeeping is the MAIN DRAW--I already in TROUBLE~~~ I live in a DIY house--
as for the hearing difficulties---They make some wonderful hearing aids now days that does away with the buzz.... Go get one, as
most women would consider you either rude or not really listening to them when they speak. It is embrassing to have to say over and over ((Pardon)) (( Would U repeat that)))) Oh-- sorry, afraid I didn't read your lips!! Give it up and get yourself one of those discreet
little miracle ears---AND ask---the only thing you have to loose is---She might be busy as she got tired of repeating herself!!

Can u fall out of love??
Posted: 8/10/2009 6:22:35 PM
I think so, if there isn't anything there to build a relationship on. I still believe that real love is a gift and it takes time to grow. It does need to be nurtured and it doesn't happen over night. So many people I have known in the last 3 years have fell in and out of love at least 4 times. Simpler saying would be to say---they fell into a heat wave----and then cried when they realized that was all it was.
Individuals tend to confuse the passion with real heart felt emotions and the world today accepts the moments of passion much more easily than the need to build a true relationship based upon knowing each others heart, the things that make their world spin and what they REALLY do have in COMMON.
SO---Can U fall out of love! Not if you are in love---but you can fall out of that INCREDIBLE HEAT WAVE you have allowed yourself to enjoy----In that case- YOU have to get over it and get on with living.....chances are the other dumping partner has already found a new toy to play with!

do you look like your pictures?
Posted: 8/10/2009 5:51:29 PM
Unfortunately MINE are way to REAL...
I look like that all the time--and most of the time, I couldn't hide if I wanted too
- I hear someone yell *SilverCee* as soon as I hit the door!
I have attend several POF events and as many as half of the attendees didn't look like their picture...
So, I think I prefer to be the same in person as in photo profile. The good, the bad and the ugly----ME!

Another EMAIL break up!!! ...
Posted: 7/2/2009 9:51:12 PM
Be cool, calm, collected and capable.!
a. Call him up and ask him to meet you over at the Ex' girlfriends house-
b. Go straight over
c. Back your vehicle in the drive and just toss his memories right out on the ground ****But not to close to the anything else****
d. Pour some Charcoal lighter on a piece of cotton material---(His shorts would be a great choice!)
e. When he approaches---
Get 'ER done
a. No chance of running into memories any more
b. No reminders at the house off the 2 wasted year
c. And you MIGHT just go ahead and LET HIM KNOW - if there is seems to be any doubt on his face what so ever--
Baby--this is WHERE you NEEDS TO STAY AT.......
d. Exit
Cause YOU have managed to really pay him back in the same COLD sense, he used you, and then said good-bye with the email!
AND it is to be positive! It is now completely DEAD and DONE with!
e. Don't look back----Some men love having several women----and unfortunately the total commitment of his heart is for the EX-
You tried, You lost- Live girl- and don't look back.......
And if you run across another one without ethics and morals- U might wish to tell him---U play very fair!
Screw me---I will return the favor!
,, and this is a true story!
And I DID have a co-worker ONCE who was married to a girl and ran around on her- and he also had ONE of his Mistress' do that to him-(She spent 5 years waiting for him to leave his wife and found out about the other 2 girlfriends) --Unfortunately- she set the house on fire cause she piled all os his stuff up beside of the front door before she lit it! (she also got 5 years at the womans' prison!) Hmmmm--Don't get to close to the house ---Ya here!
*************** Get on up and Out the Door--Let that MAN see the last of you- 4 ever more!

Something ALL women on pof should put in their profiles
Posted: 6/30/2009 6:50:55 PM
For,myself- I don't ask MEN out! And if we have dinner, then I assume since he invited me-He has enough to pick up the check!
As when I invite someone to dinner- then I know up front- that is is my bill. Just as if I entertain them at my home, I don't ask them to stop and pick up meat, potatoes and veggies along with desert. (I think we all take it for granted that COMMON KNOWLEDGE among the worlds SINGLES ASSOCIATION___****** who ever invites, picks up the tab!*****. You only get to pick the place...
LOL---Make up some bolonga sandwiches (without cheese), 2 bottles of POP, bag of chips and make a picnic routine!

To what extent is the past in the past for you in assessing others?
Posted: 6/30/2009 6:00:49 PM
It doesn't exist. I normally never judge another as I am accepting of the fact that I myself, am IMPERFECT.
It is all about the person they are now. We , all have made mistakes and stumbled thru life before we meet
and it is inconceivable to allow something they did before affect our future friendships. Take TIME to know each other
and then you won't have to do any ASSESSMENTS!

Interest / Still online
Posted: 6/30/2009 5:45:28 PM
Speaking for the myself.
I often date a guy and the first thing he does is change his profile to *Not Looking* (get all possessive, and dead serious!)
Demands that I hide mine or delete it. (which is like trying to make a train take a dirt road!)
and most of the time in less than 30 days- HE CAN GO EDIT IT AGAIN. If you have allowed it to be a sexual relationship without any stings attached-then you fall under the *Friends with Benefits* category and you are both are still free to look and seek till your hearts are content. It takes a long time to know and understand another person. HEADS UP HONEY---You have accepted his terms off dating - if you are wishing for more, you might wish to have a real conversation with the man.

And in agreement with some of the others,
there is a lot to learn about on-line dating and the FORUMS can be your best educational tool. I Love'em !

A LICK AND A PROMISE-
We have had a wonderful time promoting this event. Reesie and I have warped the mind, spun the imagination and spurred conventions as we have show ourselves to be totally imperfect, country and dynamic personalities looking forward to meeting so many new single people in the area. And we are sincere in wishing everyone will attend and have a wonderful time. Life isn't a planned event and we really have to take what comes with a smile! So- lets' give it a lick and a promise to meet someone who may change our lives and the way we look at tomorrow. And as for the lick and a promise- suffice it to say, it is an old phrase our generations before us used to described the agenda in living. I have heard them all, so my thought to each of you is-if you have
1. A Bone to Pick (someone who wants to discuss a disagreement) avoid them!
2.. An Axe to Grind (Someone who has a hidden motive)
3.. One bad apple will spoil the whole barrel (a corrupt person can cause all the others to go bad if you don't remove the bad one)
4.. At sea (lost or not understanding something)
and U
5. Run across a Bad Egg (Someone who isn't a good person)
and you feel like you are
6. Barking up the wrong tree (talking about something that was completely the wrong issue with the wrong person)
and perhaps U have gotten a
7.. Bee in your bonnet (To have an idea that won't let loose )
8. Been through the mill (had a rough time of it)
feel like you are the
9. Calaboose (a jail)
and some days things just ARE,
10. Catawampus (Something that sits crooked such as a piece of furniture sitting at an angle)
and it just won't DO not to
11.****r (To barter or trade)
and U think U need a
12. Feather in Your Cap (to accomplish a goal. This came from years ago in wartime when warriors might receive a feather they would put in their cap for defeating an enemy)
and know how to
13. Hold your horses (Be patient!)
then
14. I reckon (I suppose)
all the
15. Jawing/Jawboning (Talking or arguing)
over the BuckHead Saloon
16. Kit and caboodle (The whole thing)
might leave some
17. Madder than an wet hen (really angry)
cause sometimes we all seem to warrent
18. Taken down a notch or two (like notches in a belt usually a young person who thinks too highly of himself and needs a lesson)
and accepting the fact that many are
19.Not a Spring Chicken (Not young anymore)
but also are
20.Persnickety (overly particular or snobbish)
and feel like it is
21.Pert-near (short for pretty close)
to knowing that
22.Pretty is as pretty does (your actions are more important than your looks)
then
23.Red up (clean the house and yourself)
avoid the
24.Scalawags (a rascal or unprincipled person)
Look out for them who might be
25.Scarce as hen's teeth (something difficult to obtain)
and
26.Skedaddle (Get out of that place you call home - quickly)
so you can go a
27. Sparking (courting)
as
28.Straight From the Horse's Mouth (privileged information from the one concerned)
there be some
29.Stringing around, gallivanting around, or piddling (Not doing anything of value)
and you need to find that
30 .Sunday go to meetin' dress (The best you have)
cause I know
and we aren't going to
31.Tie the Knot ( get married)
as we are hoping there will be
32.Too many irons in the fire (to be involved in too many conversations and dancing things)
But we want to be-
33.Tuckered out (tired and all worn out)
CAUSE
We are looking forward to seeing you there
34.Wearing your 'best bib and tucker' (Being all dressed up)
Knowing and accepting that
35. You ain't the only duck in the pond (It's not all about you)

And those are the loving thoughts of two women who have Ranted, Raved, Laughed and Let Go---So SAYING!

Give tonight a
A LICK & A PROMISE! and Now COME OUT and Say Hello-
It's one night out of a million and we already know and understand. *Life is taking chances, saying HI to someone you may like or dislike- and meet and greet a few of us old timers-- We will be waiting to say hello!
Be careful coming- Expect Little, receive more than you think was possible
and YOU MIGHT JUST FIND YOU A BLESSING in that Saloon tonight!
************************And wouldn't that make it all worth while!************************

I know where my LIL Sista and her best friend are going to be staying! LOL
But the Clarion is the closest-(The tallest building down town) U almost can just walk across the street to it--and on page 1 there are listings of very close by hotels with prices and telephone numbers also. Most rooms have double beds and if you need a roomie- HOLLER OUT and I am sure one of these others from out of town will check back with you. There are lots of cabs lined up to take you back to whatever hotel you chose-it is a busy night life area and very easy to grab a cab if you wish to stay farther out on Capital Blvd also. Welcome to Raleigh!

Marriage v LTR
Posted: 6/10/2009 8:25:11 PM
I am at the age where I can start drawing from the first retirement and 3+ years from the second and the social security check. The government has made it a financial issue if , we as senior citizens say I do and get papers -then the checks are cut..... as they allot only so much S.S money to a household there is a top out pay by the month and yearly earnings based on man and women being married.
I guess the next thing they might do- is provide S.S income for states that reconize same sex marriages and there is no paper there--or is it? But back to the main post----
Which means if I say I DO....He would have to be RICH enough to pick up the slack that is ensured when they cut both our monthly deposits cause we believed in marriage verses living together. Now---they took God out of the courthouse, working on taking it off our money, removed it from public education critera and the world WONDERS about our MORALS> I am a baby boomer---I went to work at 15 full time- have two degrees and a good life- why ever should I wish to live like a pauper so the government can use my life time earnings to support all the other projects.....Course maybe we can all get some of that fresh money the adminstation is giving away!
Serious--I settle for some MAN to sweep me off my feet- and eat vegetables the rest of my life in peace and harmony !

And the streets are well lit- and there are several clubs in the area. If you don't find parking on the street, there is
several lots that charge $5.00 for the night-directly behind the saloon on the same side of the street AND they are secured and there are COPS all over down town....LOL,
try parking where you shouldn't in a restricted zone and you be wrapped up in Blue Uniforms on Horses, Motorcycles,
and Golf Carts, plus $100 tickets!!!.
.Downtown RALEIGH is a happening place, right now....The largest gay night club in NC is behind the Buckhead
Saloon- (Did I say that?) as well as many other night spots and eating houses!!!
**and No, I have never been to that CLUB--if anyone is wondering! I stay in TROUBLE,
DeAnne watch out SiSTA---I might have to adopt UR name myself!!!

Folk Music....
Posted: 5/29/2009 7:38:18 PM
I love the Bluegrass and the festivals. Nothing like singing and playing all night and seeing the SUN break thru the clouds at daybreak.
I have met a lot of the old country ones and had the pleasure of entertaining some of todays Top Stars when they where just kids, learning. And the music, the lyrics and the harmony of insturments and voices are one of the greatest things I have ever experienced in life. I do love the old stuff, and the 80 and 90 rockers who crossed over, but then it is the HISTORIANS that hold the heart. Country Gentlemen, John Duffy, Done Reno, Marty Stewart, EmmyLou, Wilma Lee, Jimmy Martin, Jody Rainwater, Dolly before she ever made it to Nashville, and Rhonda Vincent, as a very young mom, Alison Krause before she learned to play her fiddle....Oh those Memories....
Nothing is finer, than being in Carolina in the Festival Season!!!!
Love the thread!!! Keep on picking and grinnin!!!!
