I have yet to see many of the world's lakes but 2 come to mind as my favorites:

Lake Tahoe, CA/NV will always hold a special place in my heart for many reasons

Lake Crescent, WA... in the Olympic Mountains is prestine and quiet

So is Washington the only POF location that doesn't have get-togethers?
Posted: 12/23/2007 8:54:25 PM
I believe since we have such proxcimity to BC and there are so many get togethers north of the border that we have a disadvantage here in WA.

Another Trophy
Posted: 7/15/2006 12:29:49 PM
Another trophy on your headboard
I bet this time you think you’ve scored
In time you’ll find it takes more
Than just your heat to keep me warm

Another woman on your pillow
A heart given to you in sorrow
In time you’ll find it takes more
Than just your heat to keep me warm

We start as friends and end up lovers
Over time we have discovered
Our love is easy, fun and free
If we only let our hearts beat
In tune with the sound of all that is
In time with the rhythm of you and me

Another trophy on your headboard
I bet this time you think you’ve scored
In time you’ll find it takes more
Than just your heat to keep me warm

Syd Barrett - Co - Founder of Pink Floyd dies

Syd will be missed although he was reclusive and wanted out of the spotlight

He was a pioneer of unprecidented caliber and his spirit will live on through the music of others that inspired them

Bell's Palsey
Posted: 7/10/2006 1:00:23 PM
Hey Melissa,
So sorry to hear about that. I was fortunate that it only lasted 5-6 weeks and I recovered fully.
I'm a strong supporter of natuopathic remedies so I believe that the Bella Donna really did help. Lots and lots of rest!!!!!!! I didn't wear an eyepatch during the day.... just manually assisted blinking and natural tears.

Good luck to you and try to relax

The ART on your walls... and WHY?
Posted: 7/7/2006 2:40:10 PM
I have 2 Steve Hanks prints... both are of his subject Ashley. He is one of my favorite artists and both of these paintings remind me of myself growing up near Santa Cruz.

I also have 2 Orca prints. Living in the NW I have developed a strong love of these creatures.

Go to any pow-wow here in the area and you are sure to find fry bread. There is a coffee shop in Burlington that occasionally will sell indian tacos. I make them every year for my family.

Howe formed another brief group GTR with Steve Hackett

Hey Toon,
I was fortunate enough to see GTR in SF on their one and only US tour! It was such a great experience. Howe came out and did a solo acoustic bit, then Hackett came and did his solo works. Howe came back on stage and the two did some incredible duets. Short intermission. The full band came on stage and did both old Yes and Genesis tunes before another short intermission, then came out and rocked with GTR tunes. An experience I will NEVER forget!

does a relationship need to have passion and compatibility to work?

Absolutely both are required if you are to have a lasting and meaningful relationship. Why would you want to be with someone you are not compatible with nor had any passionate feelings for.

Is it possible to ever date again having an STD? Will anyone ever accept it? :o(
Posted: 2/2/2006 1:27:28 PM

poppo06 ...dont worry so much...relax have a . ...i can think of worse senarios now days...you got std...if she really liked you..she would read up on it ...understand it an then talk to you bout it and work things out......if she doesnt...its total ignorance on her part. she will never fully understand unless she has it...but least she has an idea what shes up against.

This is very good advice... I started dating a man a little over a month ago, didn't tell him on the first date but on the second date when it was apparent that there was some SERIOUS chemistry there I told him... he read up on it and made an informed decision. Fortunately for me it was in my favor and things are going really well between us.
I have had more men accept this fact and recently only 1 who didn't want to take the chance. I have never spread this to anyone as I am very in tune with my body and know when it isn't safe.
Good luck to you and don't sweat it. Stress and worry will only cause your condition to worsen.

MAKING THAT CONNCETION....TO PURSUE OR NOT TO PURSUE??
Posted: 2/2/2006 1:15:12 PM
I agree 100% Laura.... the man that I met from another website lives over about an hour away but I make the effort to go see him. If the connection on that first meeting after hitting it off chatting and talking on the phone didn't happen, that would be different.

hugging after sex
Posted: 1/30/2006 11:35:44 AM

Anyone ever thought of brining a tall glass of ice water into the bedroom??

I keep a gallon of water by the bed at all times... just for such occasions!!

Hugging after sex is an essential part of the total experience. My man always holds me close as we bask in afterglow. Otherwise the connection we made during lovemaking would be broken all too soon.

How to tell someone you have herpes?
Posted: 1/17/2006 1:12:29 PM
You just tell them... it's that simple..
I've just recently met an incredible man and once we got to the point we knew chemistry was there and wanted to begin the steps toward a long term relationship I had to tell him.
He took it well... got on the internet and researched it, asked questions and made his decision. for me!
It doesn't always go that way and if the guy bolts than I know he was just in it for the sex and I am better off without him.
I have had it for 20+ years and have learned to control it through diet. To this day not one partner has contracted it. Just be cautious and above all... HONEST!

Posted: 1/17/2006 1:05:51 PM
I've hopped aboard the quitting train... today is my first day... last ciggy was at 9:30 last night... so far it's going ok. I first quit 20+ years ago and used****ail straws to ease the oral fixation. I'm looking forward to tasting food again!
I met an incredible man on another site and he doesn't smoke so I have that last bit of motivation that I need. He is also helping me stay motivated by taking me out hiking until I'm huffing and puffing so I don't want to smoke and it will help to keep the weight off.
Good luck to all of us!!!!

I would recommend against tea tree and opt for the vitamin E... it will help speed the healing and minimize the scar. You could also get some aloe vera and put it in the fridge. The cool gel really is soothing.

Have any of you put a whole Habanero pepper in your mouth, chewed it up and swallowed it? If you have, then I guess you know about "tunnel vision"!

I haven't done that with a Habanero but have done it with a cayene pepper from my garden. That was quite a rush.

Pregnancy and Morning Sickness
Posted: 12/5/2005 11:20:20 AM
Congrats Berry!!!!!!!!!! Happy news.

Candied ginger will help and is pleasant to chew unlike raw ginger. Try some ginger tea as well. Ginger Ale and soda crackers is good advice as well.

Also since you only started having morning sickness the day you found out it could be stress related. Breath! Everything is going to be just fine.

anaphlaxsis/severe & potentially deadly allergic reaction
Posted: 11/29/2005 3:50:35 PM
I'm with you vox...
Years ago I had strep throat, a condition I suffered alot during childhood so I knew the symptoms. I was too weak to make the drive to my regular doctor and went to one of those walk in clinics. I asked for amoxicillin (which works for me) and was told it was a childs medication and they wrote me a prescription for cephelexin. Well, within 12 hours of taking the meds my fever shot up to 103.6 and after another 12 hours the hives broke out all over my face and I was too weak to even sit up for a sip of water. At one time I thought I was dying! I figured it had to be the meds so I quit taking them. I sent my husband back to the doc on Monday and told him to bring amox... big dummy brought another strange med called eurythramiacin... 2 doses later the eyes go completely bloodshot and my throut closed up on me. I looked like the elephant man.
Well.. my brother finally drove me to my regular doctor ( a naturapathic physician) and he prescribed me the amox.(first antibiotic he had written in 30 years) since he knew I needed it... also gave me some herbal remedies to counteract the allergic reactions.
It took me 3 weeks to recover!!!!!! It was the scariest thing I have ever gone through.

I now have an ear infection and am on Amoxicillan for the first time in 10 years. It has to be a pretty severe illness for me to see a regular physician but this one was really cool and wrote the prescription I asked for.

mexican food
Posted: 11/22/2005 9:59:33 AM
OK ... so this went from a mexican food forum to "I love tamales".. what happened to the lonely enchilada? empenada? chile relleno?
For Christmas my children and I started a new family tradition a few years back when they voiced their distain for the "traditional" christmas fare. Every Christmas I'm in the kitchen making red (1 dish) and green (1 dish) enchiladas, spanish rice, frejoles, fresh salsa and of course, margaritas. The guest list increases every year as the word spreads.
Viva Mexico!
