I think I am finally going to make it to a POF party! I am bringing the "girl-gang" with me! Looks like a few more men in the 40-50 age bracket need to sign up! C'mon guys!

I would have to agree with the above I get almost zero response to email and even less to the IM on POF. I add favorites and usually try to email them, attempt IM connection and get almost zero response there as well. I do respond to all emails and IM requests unless they are odd or profane. In return, the read, read & deleted is about the only response I get from emails I initiate. This is proving to be a more difficult way to meet a person than I ever anticipated.

Good to know I am not alone on that one! I feel like I wasted peak "meet someone new" time over the holidays. Bad judgement on my part I guess. I am new to internet meeting/dating and was not really sure what the reasonable/normal time frames are.

Was the other person out of town? Or were they in town and you talked for 3 months before meeting them? If they were out of town or a long distance I can see it. Otherwise if they are in town or within 30 miles I say talk a bit and meet already

Talking on the phone is the "next progression" that is true but for it to be progression there has to progress! The next step is to meet in person. I don't even mind paying because it will save me time talking on the phone. I too am here to meet people. Rule them in or rule them out (just like they will do with me)! I have been talking to one person throughout the entire holiday season from Thanksgiving to New Years! That is a lot of phone talking! I have offered to meet spur of the moment and offered long range times to meet still no meeting set. After that long of a period of time you start to wonder...is he married to somebody that works nights? Why won't he meet me?.....he keeps calling. Don't get me wrong a warm conversation is great...however you have to see me in person and I have to see you in person to know if there is any spark. Kind of reminds of the line in the movie "Elizabethtown" were they finally meet after being on the phone all night and both look at each other speechless and say "we peaked on the phone". Seriously, if you are serious about dating a 15 minute cup of coffee on the way to or from someplace else isn't too much to ask. Happy New Year! Good luck to all.
