We're out there looking for non-emotionally dysfunctional men.
Okay, seriously...age does play a part in it, as well as where you're trying to meet people. Sure there's bound to be a treasure in every trash heap, but that doesn't mean keep looking in the same place 'til you find the magical lamp.

I'm not so much a club person...how about a live band? Actually, St. Augustine sounds about perfect. Tons of things to do there, and not so "far out" or too far away. Whatcha think? Someone else can come up with a date...just not the the weekend of June 9th or July 14th or it's a no-go for me.

ah...grasshoppa...I just changed to reflect that I'm involved a few days ago, so no, it wouldn't have been mine
Not to mention the fact that those are things I do with friends as well as my S.O.
Perhaps you should be a little more clear on your attempt to state why you might agree with him on some level. Also, pay attention to the original post, he was referring to photos. Thanks and have a GREAT day!

Well, and there's no judgement to make because of their honesty. However, to just assume because someone has something in the background of their photo means they're a gold digger is plain wrong. Looking at my pic, you'd assume I have a bad attitude. Eh...well, not a good example there, huh?

Why Judge Me!!!!
Posted:

They're just not worth the worry. Keep your chin up, stay confident. Men, women...doesn't matter. That's what's really attractive, staying true to yourself and being confident about it.

Just because you're leaving Florida doesn't mean you have to leave the Florida boards. I've enjoyed reading your posts, responding, even bantering a bit with you at times. Sounds like you're making the right decision...I hate it for your grandkids though. Tough situation.
Good luck to you, but don't go anywhere!

I am confident, secure, and independent....I've been with the opposite, it's not for me. I've been with the same, only to find an air of arrogance (the bad boy characteristic) in the mix. It's frustrating and disappointing more than anything else. Finding someone to be attached to doesn't consume my life BECAUSE I'm all of those things, but I'll also be the first to admit it would be awesome to find someone secure enough to deal with all that in order to share my life with.

I can't speak for every woman out there, I can only speak for myself. To hell with the bad boys...although I will say they do have one trait that goes a long way with me. Confidence. Why is a confident, secure, not so sensitive, independent male so hard to come by?

I smell over-analyzation, a bit of insecurity...maybe even some scorn?
You're holding what looks to be a fairly expensive camera in your pics...and you're outdoors. Does that give me the right to assume you're taking provocative pics without your neighbor-lady's knowledge?
As off the wall as that judgement is, so is yours.

TRYIN TO FIND YOUR SOUL-MATE IS HARD
Posted:
3/23/2006 10:14:48 PM
Yes, being a single parent is VERY difficult. I'm one myself.
If you're having those kinds of issues, frankly that means you're probably not ready, you still need to heal from previous relationships. There's nothing written in the stars that says you HAVE to be with someone. Date, have fun, if you're feeling lonely go out with some girlfriends. Give yourself the opportunity to heal and truly figure out what is right for you, then narrow down your choices. We get in these ruts feeling like we need someone in our lives and then make bad decisions. I've been there way too many times. Good luck to ya!

From past experience, it's the ones that are being judgemental that have something to hide....yet that's a little judgemental in itself.

true love
Posted:
3/14/2006 11:25:40 PM
Yes there is such thing as "true love", but I don't believe there is only one true love, only one soulmate out there for you. If there was only one out there, I'd have given up on finding anyone long ago...
My ex was my first real love. I know it was real because I don't regret him, don't regret our life together...and no matter how much he hurt me, I realize there was a lot of good for a long time.
Something I read a time ago was people come into our lives for a reason, for a season. Who's to say that isn't the case with love as well? Just because the feelings aren't the same now doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't true, it just means life has made other plans for you.

Single or with someone?
Posted:

It's human nature to want to be with someone, to have someone to share things with. Unfortunately, we all feel the pressure to HAVE to be with someone, therefore we so very often settle for someone who isn't quite right and we end up feeling lonelier than before we made the decision to settle.
I'd rather be single than put myself through that or give someone the false hope that they're the right one.

What does it take to get a great looking woman?
Posted:
1/10/2006 4:04:03 PM
True beauty comes from the inside, gravitates out. Get to know someone before you judge whether they're beautiful or not....some of the most impressive physical specimens alive have holes where hearts should be because physical attributes are what they've gotten by on, do you really want to be with that?

Touche. I'm a strong, very independent, secure woman who is just as happy single as I am with someone. You'd be surprised at the men that can't handle that.

Some of the most fun things to do are in some of the most obscure places. Find a small tavern or pub with a live band, or grab a couple friends and go shoot pool or throw darts. It's more the company that makes a good time than the place anyway.

I'm not saying this applies to you...but yeah, we want that, of course we want that. Unfortunately when we do get all that we get bored because whomever tends to be a door mat. That's why we sway toward the treat us like sh!t bad boy type...if you add a little spontenaity to the loving mix I think you'd have the perfect man. Only problem with that is it's hard to show that side of a person online.

EVERYONE...and I mean everyone, plays a game of some sort beginning and during, and a lot of times after a relationship. It might not be concious, but we all do it. We're all manipulative in some way, shape, or form. Publish that, it's as honest as ya get.

Hmmm...how many emails do I get? I have no idea. I reply to all but the moronic, perverse, and ignorant.
I did no research to tell you that I don't care....well, mostly because I don't care. I haven't given you a ration of anything yet, but if you'd like me to I can dish it out by the truckload.
Sounds as if you have a chip on your shoulder. Anyone who would post about the drawback of anything obviously has a problem with it...height, weight, divorce, yada yada yada.... I'm not the only one that is seeing this, perhaps it's time you took a reality pill. I'm thinking the reason you're not getting dates isn't because of your height, it's your insecurity.
