thank everyone for the replies, some weird ones too, like you look at your dog as a kid or an icon,no,its my dog.i happen to like to train dogs, everyone needs a hobby right?making money at your hobby, that would suck huh?anyways, dogs are mans best friend,im convinced of it,i can litterally just look at my dog,and pretty much command her with my eyes.and it had nothing to do with sitting down and training her.it just became a leader thing.and the whole dog/sex posts, laughable, yeah my dog sleeps on the bed,and yeah, once im settled down, she'll lay her head on my feet at the end of the bed.it all comes back to the pack mentality.she wants to be with the pack.my dog doesnt even like to eat alone.pack mentality.always been an intrest of mine.might need it someday

million, funny you mention that,i have a friend who thinks the dinosaurs farted there way out of existance,i think its silly but it doesnt change the fact that c02 is not bad for the earth.and once again, god i get sick of saying this and getting no answers, what do you think we can do to stop it?7 pages and not a single response to that question.everyone just freaking out,not using any common sense,i understand we need alternative fuels,i understand we should clean this place up,im all for the green movement.but it doesnt change the fact that we have no way to control climate.how in the world can anyone have an argument against that?

tell ya what pulse,if you really think things are amiss, you'd better cross your fingers and wish for the best, cause if you actually think there is anything we can do about it your nuts.so tell me your solution.what are we gonna do?wouldnt it be nice to throw a big pill into the center of a hurricane to make it die out?boy the ppl on the southern coast would pay billions for that pill.but theres no such thing, you cant stop a hurricane.and you cant stop global warming.natures wrath has pummeled us since our existence and its not going to stop because you recycle or drive a hybrid.nature is going to take its course regardless of what we do,billions of years of volcanos, world wide floods, plate tectonics shifting, the magnetic reversal of the poles, bombardment from comets and asteroids and you think a little surface nuisance like us can change the course of nature?seems a little arrogant and far from any common sense, you cannot contol nature, period.

does it matter, god i cant believe the people in here that actually think we have the power or resources to change or even sway climate change.for the love of god people, its nature,if the earth wants us gone, theres nothing we can do about it.everyone talking like if we dont do something it will be the end of civilization.give me a freakin break,ok?theres not a damn thing we can do about it,if we all stopped driving today, shut down all factories and pollution around the world, today,it would do nothing to stop climate change, its nature, global warming is a natural cycle,as is cooling, cant wait to read these forums when we do start cooling in the next decade,i guess that will be mankinds fault also.silly arguments from brainwashed people, thats all ive seen.

is global warming real?sure.manmade,i dont think so.is global cooling real?sure, manmade,i dont think so.are earthquakes real?geez,i guess some conspiracy ppl would say they're manmade.global warming is real, and all your science arguments dont sway the fact that i believe its just a natural cycle of the earth.and weve seen all kinds of weather related catastropies from the beginging of time.the argument isnt over, the north pole ice is melting, the south pole is growing in ice shelf size.explain that.the north pole used to be tropical a million years ago.maybe it wants to be tropical again.i dont know, you tell me.everyones overwhelmed by the cities and factories and highways and byways and trains and planes.but you need to understand that 1 volcano can triple all weve done to this atmosphere in 1 day.wanna worry about something, worry about the total reversal of the poles.thats scarier than a couple degrees.so i dont buy into it,mountain out of a molehill.besides, noone will talk because of callous hard line differances of opinion.i believe global warming is nature at work,i know we created the world we live in,but the world we live in knows who we are

so we change and shape our environment?thats the argument?yes ok,granted,we have domination over the earth,my question, are we in control of it?sadly,no.im glad everyones up on there science, with c02 and carbon footprints, but noone has even touched on a solution.what do we do?i say the answer is natural gas.there ya go.and thats just us,what are you gonna do about all these other countries still using the earth for a sewage tank?everyone here is talking science and not the actual world view.cap and trade?stupid idea, germanys largest energy company, left germany because of ''cap and trade''.makes me all warm inside when a major company leaves a country, leaving 10,000 people without a job, yeah, fuzzy feeling.guess where they moved?saudi arabia.oh thats such a nice country, cause women arent allowed to drive.lets give them more money.we will need to drill for more natural gas because i think its close to 65% of all homes in the US are heated by natural gas.is global warming real?sure.manmade,i dont think so.is global cooling real?sure, manmade,i dont think so.are earthquakes real?geez,i guess some conspiracy ppl would say they're manmade.global warming is real, and all your science arguments dont sway the fact that i believe its just a natural cycle of the earth.and weve seen all kinds of weather related catastropies from the beginging of time.the argument isnt over, the north pole ice is melting, the south pole is growing in ice shelf size.explain that.the north pole used to be tropical a million years ago.maybe it wants to be tropical again.i dont know, you tell me.everyones overwhelmed by the cities and factories and highways and byways and trains and planes.but you need to understand that 1 volcano can triple all weve done to this atmosphere in 1 day.wanna worry about something, worry about the total reversal of the poles.thats scarier than a couple degrees.so i dont buy into it,mountain out of a molehill.besides, noone will talk because of callous hard line differances of opinion.i believe global warming is nature at work,i know we created the world we live in,but the world we live in knows who we are

quiet john, what im asking is do you really think we can change this?i agree with everything youve said, but i dont think theres anything we can do except let the earth take care of itself.theres nothing we can do.i try to be green and recycle,im all for clean energy and i just get a big headache when i think of a carbon tax.wheres that pork going?its up to us,we the people to take care of this, not government.lets be greener, wheres the edisons and franklins of our time to come up with solutions?the government isnt gonna do this, they are going to tax us and take care of special interests.if you dont see corruption in both parties, your blind.you can say the dems are for the middle class and the reps are for the corporations, whatever, but either party, washington is a big greedy pocket that needs to be filled.and shoving this global warming thing down our throat in order to tax us more is frightening.wheres chinas regulations?how come noones regulating them?i saw a clip before the olympics where they where cleaning up the raw sewage they dump in the ocean, this stuff was almost like a flouresant green plastic substance, disgusted me.theres nothing we can do to change that.thats what they do,they dont care.you really think were the bad guys cause we have more cars?i dont think so.i like t boone pickens idea, costs under a grand to refit your vehicle to natural gas.cleaner fuel and we are the saudi arabia of natural gas.so why isnt anyone stepping forward?i praise t boone for at least speaking out.so the government is in bed with these rogue nations for oil,and chinas still dumping raw sewage into the ocean,so,my original question,do you really think we can do anything about it?nope, corruption has taken over, all we can do is what we do as individuals.with the population rising and the revolution of the modern age,we the people doesnt seem to stand for much anymore.we walk around to our jobs like zombies not observing, the worst part of your day is starbucks closed down.and millions of people indoctrinated into a society that relies on the government.i pay my taxes and i dont mind that money going to people down on thier luck, but the majority make it a career.back to subject,i think natural gas is the key,as long as the nutjobs let us drill for it,infrastructure would be a large bill(ie.changing the pumps and vehicles)if we decided to do that, our economy would skyrocket,we are going to find this ethanol thing be a big binge for nothing.i like the natural gas idea, but how do you stop all these countries dumping raw sewage into the ocean?just some ideas, and thanks for the rant, steve

this whole topic drives me nuts.how can we have the arrogance to believe that we can effect in any way this big blue green ball just floating around the sun?i watched a program on the super volcano of yellowstone national park, that has erupted 2.3 million years ago,1.2 million years ago,and 670 million years ago.each time that has erupted,it completely covered the planet in more carbon than we could dig from the coal mines in 1000 years.and we think we're a threat?120 years of industry and cars?all i can say is im not trying to change anyones mind, but this whole idea is just really silly to me.and im not being left or right, its called common sense.and if you look at the trend of yellow stone,it erupts every 600 to 900 million years, its been 670,it could happen any day,or a million years from now.if that goes off,man my carbon tax is going to skyrocket.all im saying is the earth is going to do what it does,we are not a threat,if it wants to it will shake us off like a surface nuisance.we should be working on clean energy,im all for it,lets do it all,but to think we are effcting it is pure arrogance.now,i understand that the farmers almanac is and always has just been a calculated guess, well theyve got lots of records, back to 1790.they analyze the records of past seasons and come up with a calculated guess.they say that the sunspot are receding and expect a decade of cooling.which has been the case actually since 98.all this rabblerousing and and al gore slide show scaring everybody is what i call nonsensical propaganda.for those who do believe,do you really think you can change this or control our climate?that machine hasnt been invented yet.tell the 200,000 in jakarta buried to death in a tsunami if they feel like a threat to the earth.we are at the mercy of the earth, and anyone who thinks we can change that is brainwashed.jeez,no smily shooting himself in the head.

just writing to apoligize, for kind of a''blue''statement i made, and got kicked off,and thats to you simm.my apology.and my question is,what is the true common sense way to solve this energy thing?i mean when is somebody going to really do something?both candidates talk a good game, but c mon, what are we gonna do?i like the idea of natural gas cars as well as hydrogen cars.you want war to stop and get us out of the middle east, thats fine,so do i.but when we cant even vote on drilling?we need to do something people, everyones thinking about health care and the deficit.this election is going to be based on energy.the american people want to do everything they can,not only to conserve, but to create.and we can do it,but im sorry to say,oil will be our future until we create alternatives, and im with mcain, utilize solar, wind, oil, coal to oil, drilling, anything we can do to get this monkey off our back.and quit sending all our really smart scientists across seas because of taxes.we need them.obamas tax strategy is a freakin nightmare.id like to ask obama a simple question. how can you say.quote,''we need to end the age of oil in the united states'',end quote.uhhhhh, hmmmmm, what am i missing here?geez i dont know, why dont we just make your yogert cup out of hemp, mmmmkep?it'll be nice and fresh when you get it,yeah.so tahanks for letting me rant, its just my opinion, have a good one.......maybe

lets face it,obama has no chance,he told the people of the united states of america, that its stupid to lean on your religion and guns,do you think the americans that actually live and work here agree with that?he will not win.i thought at the beginning, hes the man,and he f ed up.theres no way he even has a chance,as much as everyone hates bush, and im not a bush fan,but our enemies are terrified of bush, and i like that.if you think our we can make friends with our enemies, your crazy.the women are slaves in those countries and they wont change that.they have a 17th century ideology, and you can call me crazy, but hey,its true.debate me on that one all day, your going to lose.we need to be our own country and quit knocking each other down, party stances mean nothing to me,lets strip this congress and put the power back into the hands of the people, thats the only thing we can do to rid this corrupt government, let us the people take over.its getting ridiculous.we the people are being taken over.and i suppose we can just lay down and let them.anyone out there have any balls?am i alone in seeing this?hey guys,i dont mean to be a doomsdayer, but it is us against them,republican/democrat,whatever,as a people we should be able to solve our problems, but beuracracy is stalling us all, just an opinion.

On Obama's So-Called
Posted:

i personally am an atheist, and i dont agree with her religious bullcrap, but i can say i have a bad gut feeling about obama.i dont put any religion behind it,hes not the antichrist, please, give me a break, but i can say that i am uncomfortable with his social plans for this country.hes an ''entitlement'' candidate.i do not like that at all.i believe in self reliance and self preservation,i dont need govmt programs to help those who arent WILLING to help themselves.those with handicaps, yes, those who need a boost to get back on their feet, yes, but those who refuse to get off their asses and do something, well, starve for all i care, your of no use to me or the rest of the country, call me callous if youd like but thats how i feel.and as far as the ''world government'' thing goes,i dont think theyres any stopping it no matter whos pres, but it still doesnt change the fact that there are people in the world that hate us,and i think that makes a lot of us hate us.after hearing obamas speech, just cements the fact that he thinks we are the problem and europe is the cure to our evils, but then again,i have no clue what hes even saying with having the patriotic mind i have.the only reason i will vote republican,is because i believe the government is way out of hand, and the republicans will only take us there slower,we're all on a train to a breakdown,id just rather be at the back of the train.

California bans trans fats
Posted:

jesus, all this talk makes me want to just rely on my garden and my gun,i wouldnt know or be bothered by the whole trans fat thing,i dont eat any of that food, but i also dont believe the government should have anything to do with banning them, why havent they banned cigarettes?simple, taxes,if they could tax the hell out of the fatty oil, youd never hear a peep from them.the idea i heard about giving tax breaks to those who dont use it is a much better idea, but banning it is just ridiculous.myself,i'll stick to my homegrown potatos and venison on the grill

its an interesting question with many facets.well, lets start with socialism.the government owns the banks, the stores, the media, the property, the schools, the tv stations, the hospitals and the minds of the people, because they have no choice.capitalism is freedom to do what your own self worth believes you can do,you have an idea,go for it man, become rich.which do you choose?

hey nxt dr girl,,i love my dog but i make quite the distinction between my my dog and my human relationships, what you described sounds more like and obsession than a normal guy that like having a dog and likes his dog,c mon.i have to say that i dated a ''cat woman'' for a few months and it was almost to the point of ridiculousnessi think anyone that is single with more than 3 cats should have homeland security called on them, its not rightthe place smelled awful, then one day, after driving 3 hrs to buffalo to see her,i tried telling her a joke, and she got all pissed at the joke,i got up and left,if i drive here and cant have fun and joke around with you whats the sesnse, she didnt get my sarcasm, the joke was what does peta really stand for?she said if its tasteless i dont wanna hear it,im a member of pita,i said oh really?didnt seem like it last week when you scarfed down the chicken cordon bleu i made for us last week, needless to say i havent seem her since, moral of the story, some ppl are just wackos,

Do you think some people are meant to be alone?
Posted:
3/2/2008 10:43:57 AM
noones meant to be alone, its a choice,as is everything in life.think i was meant to be a musician?no,it was an interest i had and i pursued it.i think being alone has many benifits, for example,if i had gotton married at 20 and had kids,my whole life would be consumed by taking care of the family, and most likely being stressed out most of the time, not to mention if the marriage didnt work out.........holy freakin stress.i tend to look at being alone a way to get a perspective on your life and what your going to do with it.being with someone out of insecurities and false hopes is a losing game.im glad that in my mid thirties i can now step back and take a good look at myself and what i really want, not trapped in an unhappy marrige that consumes your whole train of thought.so with that,i say its silly to get married to young, and at this point in my life,i believe im almost to the precepice of being ready to settle down, but like i say,i will not enter a relationship that i believe will not work,or cause unsettlement in my life, everythings going good,no need to throw a monkey wrench into it

Do we really want to be happy?
Posted:
3/2/2008 9:14:21 AM
seems to me its a conservative way of thinking, only you can make you happy, not anyone else,i know this isnt a political thread but,i think the thought of expecting a handout from government or other sources is a self depricating spiral into poverty, depression and crime.i think pulling yourself up by the bootstraps, getting out there and making it on your own, make you a stronger more leveled person, and the type of person people want to be around.sitting around pumping out kids just to get an extra hundred dollars from welfare is dispicable to me.but there are ppl out there like that that i dont care to associate with.but op,yes we can all be ourselves and i am proud of myself and that shows in a persons personality.those of the self pity type are simply lazy.i bust my ass to put food on their table,no respect for them,im sorry, jmho

funny thing happened to me the other night.my bass player john and i went to applebees for a couple of drinks and some munchies after practice.well while waiting for our food,i overheard two women talking, and one said,he lives alone with a dog, what a loser.so i thought, is that a stereotypical thought in womens mind that thats a bad thing?ive lived alone with a dog for 8 years .and ive dated through those yrs trying to find someone compatible, but my question is,why is there a stereotype on men that choose to live alone.a man that lives alone, does his own laundry, dishes, cooking ,cleaning, shopping, working, paying all the bills, mowing the lawn and on and on.you would think a guy like this would be a catch, why do women frown on it?

tell ya what, shut all buisiness down and see how you fare.can you grow and hunt all your food if you have too?can you live without electricity?ive done both.why are we all becoming nanny states?i dont get it,republicans and demacrats alike, both are leading us down the wrong path, one just faster than the other.and no matter who gets in this year, its going to be a dibocle.has nothing to do with the war either, our economy is dying because of borrowing.the war actually makes money, its china and singapore and dubei that were so far in debt with, that every american home owes them more than 400,000 dollars.and im not blaming dems or reps,im blaming we the people for putting up with it.
