Have 2 agree with joy, it's his own issues he can't deal with. He sees himself in your situation and probably knows he can't trust himself and turns it around, thus becoming a control issue because he's affraid of his own insecurities, you go girl and enjoy the ladies night out, we all deserve an outing.

Don't sweat the small stuff is a great read, everything is small, people in general create their own illusions by living in the past. If people can't take a step over the invisible line they will allways be at the starting point in life with no place or future to go forward.
