Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters!
Posted: 6/9/2009 1:28:46 PM
I have to laugh at this thread, I'm sorry for any ladies who feel they were taken advantage of but it's NOT just men who do this. Anyways, no there should be no laws, - that's just silly.

Posted: 6/6/2009 4:22:40 PM
Hi, thanks for the replies. I guess I shouldn't bother thinking about it, it's just well.. Look I guess I am different than most people. It would personally bother me to have insisted on something and then not followed through.

It wasn't this morning I was with her it was two nights ago, in other words yesterday morning.

I don't get dating, I just don't... so I avoid it.
Posted: 6/6/2009 3:41:50 PM
I haven't been seeing anyone in over a year, mostly because I've chosen to remove myself from the emotional upheaval I find myself in when I allow women into my life. Due to the recent weather and the fact that I have time off work I decided to place a straightforward ad on a personals site.

A woman wrote back and that night we met up, initially we were to go out alone but her friend became involved and I met her at her friends place. We both communcated being very pleased with eachother, being too late to go out for a drink alone we stayed at her friends place were more people came over to party.

I did something I don't normally do, I stayed up until 6am partying with them. When it came time to leave (she had to go back to her kids) I found myself nervous and confused. Her friend had blocked us from getting physical, but they both wanted me to come out to the beach with them tomorrow.

The woman I was out to meet was insisting that we see eachother today. She was very nervous and openly eager to see me again, if not all weekend. Smiling and obviously happy she told me she'd email me as soon as she woke up today. I haven't given her my number yet.

Well it turns out today that I am more nervous than I was meeting her or spending time with her friends. Maybe it's because I am still recovering from the other night but my hands are sweaty and I am nervous! I don't like this because everytime I have become like this it's already over. Just seems to be the way things are with me which is why I don't really want the emotional upheaval of dating.

Anyways to make a long story short, I emailed her a few hours ago. This email goes to her phone and she hasn't replied. So I decided I may aswell step it up and just give her a call. Her phone immediately goes to voicemail so it's off.

Maybe she had a late night or maybe she's busy today but it just seems so backwards from the way she was acting the other night. I don't get it? I keep telling myself to let it go and forget about her, I mean she's obviously not..? Well what I am trying to say is that she hasn't kept her word, she hasn't replied and her phone is off. That's not really condusive to being interested in someone is it?

Women, it's almost always the same story with me, that's why I don't date. I hate feeling like this. I don't even know why I am writing, I guess I just want to get this out even though maybe it's embarassing posting this openly on a public dating forum.

What did YOU do wrong in your last relationship?
Posted: 7/21/2008 1:55:39 PM
Relationship or Date? Cause if it's dating I don't think there's even forum space to cover my mistakes.

Visiting a shady message parlour to have my arm massaged! Stupid, I don't even know how to explain that one. I hurt my arm at work, it was a Saturday morning and seriously I just wanted my arm massaged. I don't know what I was thinking, I never let anyone touch me and I left in disbelief that those places have business liscenses. My next mistake was telling my girlfriend on the way to a company party. lol - I'm so stupid sometimes !

I'll just leave you with this one.

Ever date someone with BPD? (Borderline Personality Disorder)
Posted: 7/21/2008 11:31:27 AM
I don't really know much about BPD, I feel a lot of empathy for someone has this problem though. It seems like it would be a tremendous curse to live with and I don't think it's fair to lay blame. I'm sure no one asked for that condition, imagine how torturous that must be.

As far as Bipolar people, I think they just need the right medication coupled with counselling to repair the damage that that medical condition creates. A close family member married a guy who is Bipolar and I want to punch him out. He's a walking disaster, as much as I hate him right now, I think everything he is doing is a cry for help. He needs to be forced into treatment and I don't know how to do that.

I know with me it took a lot of good people to tell me to seek help, followed by hitting absolute bottom before I accepted any medication. I'm not perfect, but I am a whole lot better than I used to be.

I can see 6-7 minutes being the norm, however I don't think each guy has his own time. I've varied from 1 second (embarrassing!) to over 30 minutes. I think it all varies with different stress levels, how a guy ate that day, how much sleep he's had, how turned on his partner makes him, etc.

A place to lookup and/or report players, phonies, scams...
Posted: 7/21/2008 7:17:45 AM
I think these sites are just a bad idea period. I'm not sure of what the actual stats would be, but I think it would be safe to say that at least 60% of either sex has done something stupid in their past with someone they were dating. I also think it would be safe to say that probably 80% of people have had an issue with something someone did to them on a date.

In the end, it just opens a door to having your mistakes thrown in your face by a revengeful person. And Players, Cheats, Liars, Teases, etc.? Don't they usually get what's coming to them in the end?

Meds - for bipolar and depression
Posted: 7/20/2008 7:13:31 PM

I'm no doctor, but Paxil and Wellbutrin are both anti-depressants, and what I learned was, that in a bipolar, anti-depressants tend to induce the manic side of bipolar depression. Perhaps your doctor is right?

Yes they do! That's why a "mood stabilizer" is required. If I take only an anti-depressant I can't sleep and then it's just downhill from there. I think I was told that Wellbutrin did the job of both but I don't remember, so don't take my word for it.

Meds - for bipolar and depression

I take a mild dose of Effexor in the morning countered by Zyprexa in teh evening. I wish I went on something different as I am now to scared to go through the hell of switching meds. Anyone have any thoughts on my combination? I tried Lithuim for a week but that just made me feel like an emotionless robot. It was creepy.

By the way, I am always hesitant to post this kind of info here but whatever, it's not a bad problem to have if you see your doctor regularly and you take your medication. I have a pretty normal life, it's just uneventful at times. lol

When to stop
Posted: 7/20/2008 12:53:21 PM

How did you manage to do that? (ie: Not Date)
I was born with an Learning Disability called NVLD, and in high school I spent most of my time trying to circumvent it. It took up a huge chunk of my time. Negotiating for things like extra time on tests and writing essays, gobbled up most of my personal life. No social life. In University it was the same thing.

All through high school I wanted to date but I just couldn't, due to self esteeme issues and such. Sure I found women attractive but I figured that why would they want to go out with someone like me, they were so beautiful and I was just fat 2o something.

You know something? I think it'll happen for you, you just have to find a way to let the right women know you are available. Datings not easy, but neither was your school life by the sounds of it and you've come a lot further that I have! Just try and stay positive, it's not always easy I know.

threesome etiquette

I don't want to read the whole thread but I'll throw my two cents in. I used to tease my (ex)girlfriend about having other women join us, she learned to retaliate by teasing me about bringing in another guy. The whole mww thing used to be very appealing, the wmm was and still is completely revolting! However now I almost think the whole thing is sick. Well, I think some relationships can endure the sharing of a third partner but I think most will fall apart.

I think it's usually best to keep that kind of activity between non-commiting partners. But hey, what do I know? Lately I keep fumbling the ball with just ONE partner. lol

Posted: 7/20/2008 10:15:21 AM
I don't get what the big deal is about being bald. It has never bothered me except when I hear women putting guys down for it. What's the big deal? A woman will complain she can't run her fingers through non-existant hair? I just don't get it, maybe I am just not as superfiscial (is that the right word) as most?

What's the best way to get pictures?
Posted: 7/19/2008 7:52:18 AM
I did a quick forum search but it didn't really turn up anything relavant. Holding the camera for those self-portraits doesn't always work. I'm just curious as to what every thinks is the best?

Going to a photographer? Some of you women look absolutely beuatiful, but I'd rather see the real you. A little less threatening that way.

Having a friend do it? LOL - For the most part my friends where more interested in getting themselves good pics.

The old self portrait? Well, the best thing about this is that I can spend all the time I want but I feel far too awkward to do something like that outside.

What did you find was the best approach? I need better pics.

Wax figure of Hitler glorification or a period in history that must be remembered?
Posted: 7/5/2008 1:07:10 PM
Hitler will always be demonized and he will always serve as a reminder to the absolute evil within mankind. And so be it. I personally don't think there is anything wrong with a wax figure of him as long as it is true to him. It should show him in true form just as a wax figure would of Stalin, Churchhill, Roosevelt, etc.

The Fable. We Need Many Migrant Workers.
Posted: 7/1/2008 8:15:02 PM
All manual labor is essentially the same,

You really have no idea how ignorant that statement is do you?

so there isn't any real difference if the work is an American HS grad, a Mexican adult, or a Chinese 5 year old. The less you can pay for the labor, the better off you are.

The guy that owns the company I work for is worth over a 1/4 Billion dollars. He's smart, he has several companies in the same industry and he dominates the market through sheer volume.

The company that I am working for is his "baby". It's the company he started out with (he had nothing when he began). This company is the only company that he has that is union, it's the only company he has where the guys make 1/3rd more than their counterparts in the other companies and guess what? We are more expensive per man hour but we do the job right, we do it on time and we make him MORE profit. So, you're theory of paying less makes you more is right out the window.

Aside from those facts all MANUAL labour is not the same. Any form of labouring will have it's specific skillsets, a good labourer is worth just as much as any skilled tradesman. Unfortunately it's all the unskilled bottom feeding migrant workers who are the same. We don't need more Migrant workers, we need RESPONSIBLE companies to employ and train the people they have.

I'm Canadian so I'm not sure that my thoughts will be welcome in this thread. However I'll try to tread lightly and just offer my views. I strongly believe in the system that we Canadians' have. We look after our own, I see it as a human responsibility that we have to one another. The American system... wow, that just seems so WRONG on so many levels! I hope it never gains hold here, no matter how hard private interests try.

I think 3D is over rated and even hard on your eyes. I've had a Passive 3D Projector setup (two projectors), LCD Shutter Glasses (the common type) and Anaglyph Glasses (Red and Blue), I didn't feel any of these set ups where worth the head ache and the cost. Do any of you have problems writing?
Posted: 6/29/2008 8:29:35 PM
I wonder if there is anyone else like me, most likely there is but I thought I would post to try and figure out why I do this.

When I type a post or when I write an e-mail more often than not I will start typing words as they come to my mind. Often times however I will completely miss typing a word and then I will miss it again when I proof read. The end result is something that makes me look rather unintelligent (which in itself is something that's up for debate ).

Even worse, there are times that I will edit a post or an e-mail and completely unknown to me I will jumble up the words so bad that it doesn't make sense. Do any of you do this? I find it very frustrating because I usually miss it on the proof read. Sometimes it's really bad!

Perhaps I just need to be sure that I am taking my time, but sometimes I wonder if this is some form of dyslexia? Anyone want to comment?

Atlantis/Lemuria Real?
Posted: 6/26/2008 6:46:39 PM
Wasn't Atlantis found? I forget the exact location and the name of the people, but I thought that there was remnants of a city found around a crater of an underwater volcano? If I am right, these people built a "Super City" right on top of a volcano without knowing it, the volcano erupted in a massive explosion and there was nothing left but a crater which filled with water. Wasn't this city (I know it existed) deemed to be "Atlantis"?

If the Ice Caps were to melt quickly and flood the ocean with fresh water, were all done. If too much fresh water hits the ocean at once, the oceans will stop transfering heat around the globe and we will quickly end up in a long, cold, deep freeze. Don't any of you watch the Discovery Channel?

Universe came from nothing
Posted: 6/24/2008 5:27:15 PM
The early hot, dense phase is itself referred to as "the Big Bang",[21] and is considered the "birth" of our universe.

Maybe it would help if we didn't think of it as a "Bang".

Temperatures were so high that the random motions of particles were at relativistic speeds, and particle-antiparticle pairs of all kinds were being continuously created and destroyed in collisions. At some point an unknown reaction called baryogenesis violated the conservation of baryon number, leading to a very small excess of quarks and leptons over antiquarks and anti-leptons—of the order of 1 part in 30 million. This resulted in the predominance of matter over antimatter in the present universe.[25]

This is where all the matter in the Universe came from (Theoretically).

...few minutes into the expansion, when the temperature was about a billion Kelvin..

That's hot!!!!

After about 379,000 years the electrons and nuclei combined into atoms (mostly hydrogen);....

379,000 years before atoms where created!

Quotes from:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Bang

It's fascinating if you can grasp the Theory. Personally I need to read it again, then re-read it, then re-read it... you get the idea.

Universe came from nothing
Posted: 6/22/2008 8:35:35 PM
I just think the universe is "timeless."

What I mean by this is that time does not matter to the universe, there was no beginning, there will be no end, just forever.

I like my theory, it's simple.

Almost a hundred years ago there were two popular theories: A Universe like the one you describe, or a Universe that started at a specific time (the Big Bang). All evidence points towards the Big Bang theory. There was a point when the Universe was "created" and there may be a point when the universe ends (although this will not be by contraction).

I think it would be naive to say that there is nothing out there, because there is so much out there. But, I think it's become clear that we're all we've got in our little corner of the universe. So, why are we wasting time and valuable fuel exploring places like Mars? I guess it's because it's there and because we can.

Everything in steps. When the first sea going rafts were built, did anyone try to cross an ocean? We have to learn how to traven in space. Secondly, Mars is a place that we can actually land people and colonize (potentially). It has the best atmosphere, temperature, gravity, distance to relative to us, etc. Studying Mars will result in a tremendous amount of knowledge.

Are we alone in space and time? I don't think so. I tend to think that life is abundant throughout the universe. Saying that, life in other places may have flowered into things beyond our wildest dreams, but I think it's out there. I like to think that the whole universe is "seeded" with life, it just needs the right conditions to sprout. Of course I could be wrong. ;)

Universe came from nothing

Yes exactly. I mean how speed and motion affect time, it is refered to as "Time Dilation". I only know that only because I've been reading up on it ever since I watched Discovery HD this weekend.

I've heard of Brian Greene's balloon representation as well. It's a great way of explaining things, however I had a thought on this today. What if space it self wasn't growing, instead what if all the matter in the universe was actually uniformly shrinking? The end effect is the same.

The feet are floating in the water due to the shoes. That's why it is feet and not hands or heads, etc.
