Gun Enthusiast - Should I worry?

The thing you need to rememer, OP, is that you can not define this guys personality based on one hobby that he has. Just like with anything else, there are different reasons that lead people to either embrace or reject firearms. I am one of those so-called gun nuts everyone is talking about. But, that does not mean that I am a militant, trigger-happy, future serial killer, lol. More than anything, I'm fascinated by the mechanics of all of the different types of firearms and a bit of a history buff, the exact same reasons I'm interested in muscle cars, old buildings and motorcycles. I wouldn't worry too much about this guy, hon. If all of the other signals you get from him look promising, give it a chance. And, IF when you feel completely comfortable, let him take you to a professional range with a litttle .22 You may be surprised how much fun you have, and end up joining our ranks. Good luck.

Talking about ex's and other guys on a date...

I agree with the others, here - but I think there could be more to be said. HOW are you talking about them. There is really no bigger turnoff than listening to a woman expound on all the reasons why the ex was a loser. It makes us think we are listening to a high school breakup. By the same token we don't want to feel like we are being compared to him . Either way it sounds like baggage and lets us know that no matter what we do there won't be room in your life for us until you move on. It's ok to still care about someone you have dated in the past Most of the women I have know in my life had some qualities that made them wonderful in my eyes and I'm not going to suddenly hate them just because things didn't work out. But throw yourself into what it is you are trying to create NOW! It comes right back to giving 100 percent. You can't do that if the old beau still has a piece of you.

"I just did about a year there"
Sounds like a prison term, lol. Just moved back here after 10 years and I would have to say it feels like that sometimes too.
But the people are great if they aren't cranked out of thier mind.
If any of the softer of the species wanna tag along I'll help ya man the grill Country

Tall=Intimidating?

Ok I hate to say this for fear of sounding like a jerk, but it can be akward. I dated a woman in VA who was 6'1". She was a gorgeous girl and we were friends for a long time before and after. But, since I am only 5'9" it did feel strange. i felt like Long Duc Dong on 16 candles with my "sexy american girlfriend". That being said it does not mean I wouldn't date a tall woman again. You just have to accept that it may feel a little strange at first or do like we did and use humor to put it in percpective. I used to have her stand a step below me so I could kiss her and send her sweet notes addresed to "Sasquatch" from "Opie". Male ego almost got in the way no matter how much I like to believe I like to fool myslef that I'm evolved beyond that lol. I just had to pick playful wrestling matches from time to time to prove i was still stronger than her so I could feel like the big strong protecter again - unfortunately she almost pinned me a few times lol. But that can be its own sort of benefit too I guess.
