If you are a father and your son is interested in a girl, what would you do? Will you help your son win the girl's heart?
The father likes the girl a lot, ( not romantically) and the fathers noticed that the girl is interested in his son too...

Yes,I need to find out whose bikes are these first... I asked one of the few females at work the other day, she doesn't know... I am pretty sure it belong to a male, I know all the females at work very well, only a few of us.
I'll have to ask a male then...

I have always wanted to get a ride on a motorcycle since I was little... I never had a chance to ride on one, and I know I won't be able to drive it myself successfully the first few times.
I have noticed that there are 3 motorcycles parking outside our building at work, they must belong to three of my coworkers. How do I get a chance to ride on them without sounding strange? I am very professional at work, I don't want the males I work with read something else or mistake my intention. Will they understand all I want is a ride on the motorcycle to feel the speed and wind?? If I ask for a ride, what shall I say?
I won't touch the drivers, I will sit still.
Thank you.

Thank you linuxprogrammer! I like linux btw!
I don't think there is any policy about intra office dating since they have always been "all males" in the office, LOL.
I in fact believe office romance is a big no-no, however, I will be happy just talk to that young engineer!

I just want to know what his name is, LOL. It is very basic, but I might need to know more than that!
I travel for work, I believe he does too. That is why I have never seen this gentleman before...
For some reason he was surprised to see me too, we were freezed for couple seconds when we saw each other on the hall way. Not many young engineers at our place, you know...

How about an old man? Will an old man help out? A old man that is married at work.
I work with almost all males, I want to know about one of them, who else can I ask? They are all males in that department!

OP, I am a virgin too and I am 23. I am a virgin from holding hands, kissing, touching to sex.
I undersatnd your concern, I think if he loves you truly, he will be happy to have you!
If he cares about sex only then he must be the wrong guy. Think carefully beofr eyou give yourself to him. I won't sleep with a man until he marries me. Always be cautious, OP.

They are nice people but laugh at themselves are a lil bit too harsh and pointless.
Being a female engineer, I feel that it has been my pleausre to work with those intellectual gentlemen at work, Ilearn new things everyday from them! Overall they are VERY professional expect for that laughing at themselves part is a lil bit wierd.

I can't do that...I don't really know them well to determine what they have said is true.
And again it is not funny to laugh at people being fat or not smart, right?

I noticed that Americans like to laugh at themselve. It is a good thing that you guys always maintain a sense of humor and be able to laugh at oneselves.
For me it has been difficult to react when a American man starts to laugh at himself...such as laughing himself be physically unattractive, not smart...etc. I don't want to repeat what they have said since it is harsh.
So let's say my coworker, an old gentelman starts laughing at himself "being stupid/fat" again, how should I act?
1. Laugh?
2 No response, ignoring?
3. Agree with them?
4. Disagree with them seriously?
It is difficult and I don't know how to react... I personally don't think it is funny to laugh oneself saying such a harsh thing.
Thanks,

Depends on if the guy knows he is very attractive or not. some good looking men are very stuck up and immature, some of them are very nice, it just depends on who he really is.
Before we know who he really is, we assume he is stuck up!! LOL

Patting another man's shoulder
Posted:

What do you think it implies? I'd love for you to express openly in this forum how you percieve this gesture to be intended.
Do you believe that you are the motivation behind this male interaction?
In your mind is it all about you? What do you think this gesture could mean?
I am asking is that how guys are greeting? Coz we women don't do stuff like that. Sheesh, easy man!

It appears to me men usually ignore the man who is patting him, keep talking to me. To me, I think he shouldn't ignore the other man if they knew each other, right?
Or it supposed to be like that...that's how men do?

I have noticed this action taking place often among males in this country:
When a gentleman is having a conversation with me, another gentleman ( they know each other) who is passing by will pat the gentleman 's ( the one that is talking to me)shoulder with a smile or even shake the gentleman's shoulder couple times.
What does that imply? Is that a way of men saying hi to each other? Or means something else?

When you see a woman you like, what do you do?
Posted:
6/28/2008 3:29:56 PM
In all honesty, as a woman, I am not doing any better than the men that have responded.
I would never, ever approach a man first if I think he looks cool. Secondly, looks don't mean much what matters is his heart, how do I know if he is a "good" man? No ways!
It is wrong to think that way, but often, a good looking man makes me wonder if he is a player...a bad looking man makes me wonder if he is a mad person...natural human feelings and I am shy!
Plus, no one likes to be rejected, doesn't matter how I look like what kind of person I am, it is still possible I will be rejected. Rejection is one of the greatest pain in life!
Like most of the men here, I will ignore and move on if I see someone I might like!

How do you know they are intimitated? I don't believe a man will say that, it might be you are full of yourself!
On the other hand, the successful women seek successful, I doubt many successful would like to date less successful men.

I am wondering if you have any tips for the employee 401 K investment?
As a young professional, what works best for me? ( how do I allocate 401K)
P.S. I am able to invest 20% the most, company matches 6%.
