I'm here in Gardiner, buried under a snowbank.

Women who smoke are far more promiscuous.

So many buttons to avoid pushing in the pc world that so many would have us conform to... How can problems be solved or people be made aware of the realities of the world we live in if we seek to silence the opposition?

Hey, it's just that these days it is unPC to bash others for being of a different race, religion or sexual preference, so all that's left to bash are the smokers & drinkers. And a lot of people who don't smoke DO drink, so the smokers are fair game.

Whenever the state thinks they need money, what do they raise the taxes on ? Cigarettes, not liquor.

And its OK for the drinkers to stay inside that warm cozy bar or restaurant while the smokers have to go out in the cold.

And now they (the non-smokers) are trying to tarnish our reputations as well.

But don't let it get you down, Sisters. When someone is pointing a finger at you, three fingers are pointing back at themselves.

From one who has had a h*ll of a lot more smokes than intimate encounters.

How far is too far on a first date!!

Dear Lips

I sort of agree with what you say and I'm not judging you or others who feel the way you do, but for myself it would be MY opinion of myself if I did agree to a meeting just for sex. And it wouldn't be good.

Call me a prude, but even agreeing to meet someone who has expressed a desire such as immediate sex, especially when they say they want a long term relationship, is going too far.

In addition to feeling cheap, used & controlled if I did, I have my doubts about my being able to respect such a person, as well as myself.

But whatever works for you, enjoy.

Why are we looking for LTR?

I agree with El Mariachi in that my wants are not fixed in stone either.

When I first put up my profile nothing seemed to fit. I thought that "hanging out" meant meeting people to see if there was enough chemistry to try for more.

But from reading the forums (or fori if that is more correct) I get the idea that it means "friends with benefits", or just a little more committed than "intimate encounters".

I had a few days email adventure with a guy who seemed nice enough except that his expectation were sex from the git-go. I tried to expain that I would have to meet a person first before making that decision. Not trying to be rude or put him down, it just isn't my style.

I guess I would like to have a long term relationship but not necesarily get married again or even live with a guy. It would be nice for me to see him as much as we wanted to, including the sexual if we hit it off, but have a nice quiet place of my own to come home to.

So I did change my profile to LTR & hope that guys don't think I am trying to get a ring (except maybe on the telephone).
