New thread deletion voting option
Posted: 11/10/2009 4:52:34 PM
Everybody who uses this feature watch very carefully how you vote. If you vote be sure you know it is right. Yes there are a zillion like minded threads here and another zillion like minded replies posted too.

If you are going to vote be sure it is for the right reason or the Mods will ban you from voting even if what you are voting off as over posted and over replied is right to vote off.

Try the Search Button before you vote if in doubt.

Ya Ask A Guy/Girl Sections need the voting feature badly and further decrease the post limit to ten. There is a zillion redundant posts/replies in both of those sections.

Will people really get a clue before they post this dribble please!!

This program was running under the Bush Administration long before the Obama Administration was even thought about. Ya your hero George Bush himself helped get this going. FYI it is not in every state either. It was set up by a Grant that Congress itself passed.

Get off the Bash Obama Bandwagon and come up for air or better yet stop drinking the Koolaide.

Their About Us page:
https://www.safelinkwireless.com/EnrollmentPublic/about_us.aspx

OMG they are only getting a little Trac Phone. OMG that will just not do will it if some poor family cannot have it so in an emergency their children's school can contact them.

Where do the people who protest things like this come from? Better yet how do they even live each day.

Moderator threads
Posted: 10/30/2009 12:42:45 PM
@ *Cowboy* Oh I knew and know they were and are Moderated and I was just voting my honest opinion on the threads that came up. That is all.

Some people view things one way and some the other then you have those who are obviously dead center.

I voted by reading the threads and expressing my own view point which I thought was the reason why people are allowed to vote whether their own vote actually might be the deciding factor or not.

I know this is not a Democracy here by far but is it fair to take only one select group of members opinions or would it be more fair to allow all opinions to matter in this Mod Thread issue?

Either way the powers that be will do as they will regardless what members say but I do feel it is nice that we the membership be allowed to express ourselves either by voting or openly posting with out fears of banning or any such penalties that might be used as a form of control.

Thank you for your honest response *Cowboy*.

You currently have no posting sanctions other than your ability to vote off threads being disabled, for voting to delete a perfectly valid thread in the Technology Forum.

So how long is it disabled for if I might ask.

Probably I hit the Delete Button sir because I felt it had already been posted before in this vastness of the millions of undying threads and postings already posted here by some other member.

If you had just asked me politely to look further at the issue then I would have.

As alot of us members know and obviously you do too there are millions of posts and threads that are posted repeatedly over and over that are still in place.

Thank you for your response.

Ya I have "No Voting Option" when I view "Mod Threads" at all. I used to though.

Some how the limits or penalties must have been upped alot more than posted on the info thread.

Anyway for a Moderator to find out what the limits have been boosted to now?

Us Mushrooms would like to know.

Is antivirus neccessay with firewall?
Posted: 10/19/2009 3:09:43 AM
The only problem I hate with Windows Security anything is that these products call home all too often and nobody really or truly knows what info they are sending home from your comp.

Obviously it is all deeply encrypted so you have to be a rocket scientist to decipher it and IMHO that is just not a good thing.

The only things I have that can call home out of my system are my Anti Virus and web browser (FireFox) for obvious reasons and everything else is blocked.

What I do on my computer is my business and not the business of Mickey Mouse Software or Slick Willy Gates.

and to the poster who commented about having more than one antiviral program. You cannot install two on the same PC they conflict with each other and can cause major problems such as continual rebooting. Remove one before installing another.

Beg to differ on that one as I have a client's computer I manage, that due to his continual porn addiction I installed Comodo Firewall that has a built in Anti Virus and AVG Free 8.5 Anti Virus too and there are no conflicts with in his computer at all.

It runs smooth with no errors, conflicts, rebooting, scripting errors or any issues that would cause any failure.

Yes as a general rule though it is not wise to install some Firewall/AV's side by side due to conflicts and if you are not familiar with "How Too" do this then do not attempt it at all.

I run:

1 Hardware Firewall(modem, router, hub all in one).

1 Software Firewall(Sygate Personal Firewall Pro).

1 Antivirus Scanner(AVG Free8.5) If you are really paranoid check out Comodo Firewalll and it's dual layer features,it's freeware.

1 Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Scanner.

Firefox web browser that is fully tweaked for all of my surfing needs.

Everything I DL gets scanned upon completion of the DL and all rouge web page scripts get filtered by the web browser tools.

Take back the internet and enjoy it as it should be.

What would you do??? Insomnia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted: 10/11/2009 2:21:12 AM
What has worked for me in this case is to cut out all caffeine, all sugars, salt, fatty foods and spicy foods and go walking every day when you can. It is called eating healthy.

I do not drink soda at all anymore but caffeine free koolaids and Gatorade, the latter about 24 oz a day. I do not do Alcohol nor any illegal drugs either. 9 yrs Clean and Sober.

Yes drastic but it works and it especially works well if you are on any kind of psychotropic medications for other illnesses.

Nice side benefit is gradual weight loss too.

as a nation, that everything revolves around capitalism and greed.

This sums up the OP's presentation in a nut shell on this entire issue. It is sad but true.

Are the U.S. public schools really that bad?
Posted: 10/8/2009 7:55:24 AM
With the ongoing issues of Hip Hop Music,Gangster Rap,moms and dads no longer truly nurturing their kids and the ever failing of the Traditional Family Structure it is even amazing that school kids can even write their names legibly these days.

Bah I said enough and do not really want to get started on this issue.

One last word: Where are the parents in all of this?

coloradostarlight I'm presenting the article not presenting an ultimatum so no need to be so rude and crab nasty. That is really not why we have adult discussions is it now.

Did you read the entire article? I too was cut myself as a baby and I have had no problems at all either as another poster stated.

"It keeps you running" by the Doobie Brothers and other classic rock songs by them.

This is what we listened to alot of when doing weight work outs in high school.

How male circumcision hurts women
Posted: 10/7/2009 3:59:01 PM
This is an interesting article I found while surfing some blogs:

Genital cutting on infant boys is luckily losing its legitimacy, but there are still those out there with misconceptions about the effects of this traumatic procedure. Not only is it taking away something that nature intended men to have, terrifying to a new human who is wrenched away from mommy to have his most sensitive area hacked off, and a clear violation of human rights (these things should be a choice, not an ego-driven "I want him to look disfigured like me" idealism), but it hurts women in later life as well.

I have already written about the negative consequences of circumcision on boys. The decision taken from them, the nerves destroyed, and the pseudo-science and ancient social paradigms that we insist on propagating. The practice only gained popularity when the craze of Masturbation Hysteria drove doctors in the early 20th century to prescribe the procedure as a sort of anti-sex salvation.

Source and More:
http://www.helium.com/items/477183-how-male-circumcision-hurts-women

It goes into some detail too about sexual intimacy and other things.

Columbia Mo. Roots and Blues Festival
Posted: 9/26/2009 3:34:23 PM
One rocking great time!! A friend of mine and I hooked up at the Flat Branch Concert for Chump Change at 11:45 first then toodled on down for Heather Miles at 7th and Locust and then headed over to Peace Park for Jr Brown at 3pm. My friend and I were front stage center for all three venues.

Even with the semi heavy rain at the Jr Brown Concert it was a great time and non stop music. That was probably one of the best three concert runs in one day I have been to in a very long time. I just hope the venues are that well planned out next year if this festival is to happen once again.

If you missed it you missed a good time. It was well worth the cost of the tickets to see one free and to headliners plus alot of great food in one day.

I could have stayed longer but 6 hours out concert going was enough for me.

guys who like girls with tummies
Posted: 9/26/2009 2:47:57 AM
Actually the BMI Scale has been adjusted over the years to reflect society's view points instead of actually representing the real issue.

It is more about a popularity contest than actual figures per say.

There have always been big men and women through out time. It is just now alot of people are so self centered and self serving that they think they are "The Bomb" and only deserve "The Bombette" or visa versa.

As one of my ex's said and I agree with 100% that big girls need lovin too so while all of you boys out there only want those skinny girls the real men are getting alot of lovin from those big girls you toss aside.

Do men like it when women contact them first?
Posted: 9/24/2009 2:13:54 AM
I do not mind at all but when they do contact me or we are in constant contact at least keep the contact going on their own initiative.

Most guys do not like having to keep the contact going all of the time.

I guess women do not realize that guys are on the go alot just like they are too.

Listen handicapped... disabled there is no such thing as either in the beauty of the truth.. you seriously haven't met the gal who will not only champion your love but be grateful to have met someone who knows how to see beyond the exterior of the body to embrace the aura of the human mind. Just keep on being real .. keep on feeling, keep on being you and you will feel the one as she will when you meet, guaranteed.. besides you are very handsome, athletic, smart .. and shy .. very redeeming qualities of great men.

Knee-Dee thank you for being one of those kind of women who can restore my faith in women as a whole.

Wow starfish342 once again you have helped to prove my main point that some women are about as shallow as a mud puddle in the middle of a dank and skanky back alley of the local bar scene on skid row.

Don't you realize that blind people see with their senses and not with their eyes? Their senses are far more acute because they have to adapt to their sightless surroundings. They see by the use of their finger tips and by their senses of smell and hearing.

Oh and really you are not all that and certainly not even close to a package of crackers either.

Exactly the situations I have been in and even on here. Women I contact at first are all hot and heavy then get cold after about 2 - 3 weeks of communicating.

this is why guys want older women
Posted: 9/9/2009 4:31:20 PM
Actually isntafraid older women do make better lovers and are alot more appreciative in the long run with alot of things in a relationship of that type where as the younger women often times do not know yet what they really want and cannot make up their minds what they want.

There is nothing wrong with a older more mature woman with a younger guy at all IMHO.

I disable everything in Winblows that is not absolutely needed and I get alot better performance out of the operating system as a whole.

Learning how to properly use Msconfig and Regedit is a must.

Third party anti virus, firewall and web browser is the biggest ticket.

daffie FYI if your man or any man uses Conditioner on his beard and Mustache it comes out in time super soft and ladies do not get chaffed as much if any. It is all in how the man takes care of his facial hair.

The same with hair in the lower regions to be it men or women.

To the question I would have to answer honestly no none of us really are but we have suffered a loss and we want to fill that void so the pain is not so painful.

I think we are all guilty of doing this. The hurt drives us to seek consolement with another ASAP because we do not want to feel the pain.

Just my two cents that in this "love recession" are not worth much.

Well it should anyway but we all know how selfish and self centered people can be these days.
