Relationships and Women, hey guys what do you think?
Posted:

I’ve been divorced 29 yrs. At first I was too hurt and untrusting, then I came to a place that I dealt with my anger and pain and moved on. I lived my life day by day not looking for a fix most days. But occasionally I did look for someone to hold and feel close too but I easily walked away most of the time because I knew that was all it was because I truly never invested anything but my time and it didn’t last long because of my own actions. Just as there were times I would have like to have had more time to see if there could have been more but the other person was only doing what I had done before, passing time with there own immediate needs.
I have said for many years likes, wants and needs are 3 different things and that most never learn the difference in the 3 for more reasons than one, but usually the reasons are nothing but excuses when all is said and done. We as individuals all live in our own individual world until we come to a point in our life that we declare to ourselves being an individual alone is not enough whether it’s for the right reason or not. Or whether we pick the right person to come along on our adventure of so called road to happiness of the moment whether we see it long term or not.
For my own self I’ve always felt and said “If you are around because I need you, you are being used and I don’t know about others but I hate like h*ll being used. Therefore, if you are around because I want you, then your friendship and you are important enough and valued more that what you own, have or don’t have and those are of no importance to me or our relationship or a reason to want or not want to grow old with you.
Even with all the above said, in my life I’ve looked for mutual truth, honesty, respect and honor on the same level I gave and even with meeting some wonderful men over the years it’s still eluded me for us both to have been on the same plateau at the same point in time when we met for it to have happen. Hence, I still seek and can only hope I live long enough to feel the joy of being loved, honored and respected in the same level that I would give in return.
In my world life and relationships are about taking responsibility not handing out blame to others because of my own short comings and that is a two way street for anyone involved in my world …. Guess that’s why I’ve been single so long huh …….
But i must say this thread was an interesting read... thanks all

it depends on what you are looking for ... if you are just looking for a good time with no commitment then there is no problem ... but if you are truly looking for more that leads to commitment and marriage then you better listen and not walk but run .... other wise you are wasting your time and energy ... people tend to hear what they want to hear and women tend to think they can change a mans mind or be different that the previous woman was ... get real ladies and forget the fairy tales ...

Help with finding the right audio/sound driver
Posted:
6/12/2008 8:47:57 PM
drivers are not a problem really and i'm glad you found what you needed... besides with plug and play devices today they will usually tell you it found a new device when you reboot....
if you need to update a driver or check one here is the simple way...
Right click my computer on your desktop> click Properties > click Hardware tab>click Device manager>look down the list for what ever device you are looking for and click the + sign( if there is a yellow question mark or a red X beside it you for sure have a problem and it needs one)> double click that device and a new window will open>click the driver tab> click update driver>a wizard will open and you can let it look for it automatically or you can click the other option of picking it from a list or if you have a CD you can point it to it( the wizard will walk you thru the steps) > if it doesn’t find a new or better driver it will say so…)
also on the details tab at the top it will tell you about the device......

Cannot Upload JPEG Pictures
Posted:
6/12/2008 1:21:49 PM
Just a little FYI
JPEG/JPG is an acronym for Joint Photographic Experts Group. The same thing just different filename extension (file format). Traditional DOS only allowed 3-digit extensions hence JPG and Windows still uses it to determine the file mimetype hence the use of JPG instead of JPEG. But JPEG is useable in other formats such as UNIX, Linux and etc.
Therefore here per Ticket it is JPG extentions that are acceptable for images not JPEG.

they have changed some of the security settings in SP2 and in other IE patches lately due to security breaches with the settings......
go to tools> internet options> security tab> internet> custom levels> and you will find that the allow scripts-initiated without size and position restraints is disabled and there is 1 other think it's allow scripting of IE web brower controls is disabled also....these allow the code for each site to control the way your browers open and height and width parameters and in IE 7 to my understanding even when they code it to over-ride these settings it doesn't apply even then......that's my guess.....lol.....next.....
OH well i just googled it and go here maybe this is the real answer......LOL

what OS do you have?
if it's XP you can do this password recovery
1. boot in safe mode (hitting F8 as BIOS info goes to black)..then there will be an icon for Administrator on the Welcome screen. (if not hit CTL-ALT-DEL twice and enter the name Administrator and leave the password blank)
2. then click Start, and then click Run.
3. in the Open box type: control userpasswords2
4. click the account that you forgot the password for then click Reset Password
5. type a new password then click OK.
or for 98/ME go here

go to Control Panel ->Administrative Tools -> Computer Management.
select Disk Management
select the drive you just inserted and right-click
from the context menu that appears, select the option to change the drive letter.
in the "Change Drive Letter" dialog, select an available letter for the drive...from now on, every time you insert the USB drive, Windows will assign the same drive letter you specified

the trick is to ask the right questions after you ask what's their problem so you can find the real problem and not waste anyones time....you can't just go on what they usually say (on average) you need to ask a few questions and listen to their answers ....besides you usually can tell if someone has some technical knowledge, clueless or just repeating something someone told them......

unfortunately some level 1 support do follow scripts ...reason being if they get lots of calls they hire people to answer the phones #1 and some or in some cases most are not knowledgeable and that's all they know how to do anything.....that is frustrating.....when that happens sometimes if you can keep your cool and ask to be escalated to the next level it might save you some time...not always but sometimes....also sometimes you can call and just ask for level 2 and bypass level 1..it just depends on the company and their policies

well i rarely use TS since i'm usually it....LOL
but it really depends on what your problem is, what the technical level of the person is you talk to and what level of support you are using.....
one thing to remember the 1st person you talk to is not the only one there generally....they are generally level 1 if you call support and if you are not getting any help you can always ask to escalate up a level until you can get some answers usually

it really depends on what aspect you want to learn about it and how involved you want to get ....... you might try going here and having a look around to decide...lots of stuff is free to read and an informative site.....
http://www.informit.com/search/search.asp
if that doesn't work just do a search for web design on the site or on google...also look at jobs posted for web designers to see what languages and skills they are looking for.......

pages freezing up
Posted:
7/11/2006 12:14:54 PM
if you don't have genuine copy of Windows you can only use auto updates..manual will not work......MS set it up that way.......
also FYI
Many repair shops will install a handy (but illegal) "in-house" copy of Windows XP to repair their customer's computer systems and the WGA 'detects' these cloned Win XP installations as 'pirated' or illegitimate, .
Most of these computer repair places do this out of convenience because (1) it is easier than asking the customers for their own copy and (2) If they did ask the customers for their original XP Install CD; they are responsible if it gets lost or damaged at the shop.
Unless it's a coporate license you are only allowed 1 install on 1 pc per CD....and if the corporation didn't use the correct installation process & ID key per the license agreement then it would show up as pirated also

RE28 my stepdad has cable and he always turns his pc off when he is not using it. Everytime he would turn it on it would boot up mostly then like you stated it would die and reboot after a few minutes. I know his settings well .....the problem was his firewall and the cable modem all i had him to do is unplug his modem and let the pc boot up completely then plug in the modem and not a reboot problem since. The problem was the cable has a continious connection and you're bring up a firewall that is being hit before it can authenicate the modem 1st, therfore it shut down the connection......as for running slow if you've cleaned it all out then it does sound like a memory problem reason being most games are memory hogs......

it guess i never get why people whine and moan about it all really....either you like it and use it or find something else that you do like and use....
the one thing that everyone always leaves out is the most popular no matter what it is, is going to get hacked and have a crap load of problems...reason being you go after what gets you the most hits plain and simple....besides how many average email/web surfers do you know that can handle Unix/Linux.....think about it......
whether we like it or not the corporate world is using it and will be for sometime except for engineers basically......so the bottom line is, if you support it you have to play in it....and nope doesn''t mean you have to like it but hey that''s just how it is and will continue to be.....

you can also set the links to open up the documents in a new window, that way you can close the window or minimize it and the original document is still present also......
after you bookmark, then you will go to set your links if you will look on the right side of the window when setting the link you can tell it how to open the link for each link you set.
