Chickens coming home to roost{in the mortgage market}

OK Real Estate moguls. What would you do if you were cash heavy and needed a write off for a growing home based business (running out of an apt.). How long before its really safe to get in?

How come no one wants to get married
Posted: 11/10/2006 3:07:42 AM
I adore my happily married friends. They are so much more stable and productive than my unmarried friends. I truely enjoy their company. Seeing two people working for that type of commitment is an inspiration. I believe I read somewhere that happily married people actually live longer. I've also read that children of happily married people have the best chance of securing a happy marriage themselves. Marriage is the cornerstone of a secure society. Its just so depressing seeing the institution of marriage under attack. Why would anyone of us really want to be alone? I hope to find someone to grow older with. I hope you do too.....

California women: fact or myth?
Posted: 10/27/2006 12:14:03 PM
I have to admit...I've met some very down to earth girls from San Diego. I think there are good people everywhere. You just have to search them out. That being said, we do have a different situation in SoCal. I had a talk recently with a good friend of mine who seemed to have a lot of data on this subject. She was adamant that I should only date transplants like myself. The Women in SoCal also have to deal with the Men in SoCal. Just about all the men in SoCal are available- married or not! These guys have money, looks and attitude. No girl is too young in SoCal if she is thin with boobs. SoCal men are good at chatting girls up and dropping the bombs. Girls just get shell shocked and have to learn how to deal with the attention. There are 5 men to every girl and it doesn't take long to get that SoCAL attitude. Any girl with a BMI under 25 is going to get hit on, and hit on hard. It happens here like now where else! By the time a girl hits her mid 20's she has had to take on that SoCal persona. Its just part of the training. She is well trained. She knows what works and what doesn't. She knows how to get what she thinks she wants....Its pretty sad.....Most women who grow up here don't know any different! The Men don't either! By that 2nd or 3rd Vegas Wedding they just give up and go looking for sell out or a well trained sex buddy (like themselves).

No to put so much doom and gloom on the subject! Lets give these poor lost souls some hope- ha, ha....Lets make this "Date a Native" week! All you transplants make it your Civic duty to go out and date a SoCal Native. Give it your best shot, look past the silicon, the botox and the beamers- adopt a native. Anyone can do it for a week. Don't worry about the week, they'll be used to it....

SOCAL meet and greet!!!
Posted: 7/18/2006 10:31:37 PM
"The Orange Curtain", "The Jaded OC" - so true..- ha, ha...We don't have many clubs here in Irvine. Maybe the Spectrum or Tustin Market Place. Why not Laguna or Newport? Newport Coast is really nice. Best.

gold diggers in orange county/south california!! any good ones left??
Posted: 7/16/2006 11:16:55 PM
Yep, we have a whole lot a Gold Diggers here in SoCal. I'm kinda glad they put it on the table so early---helps me to get out of the way....Just take this as a fact of life if you are going to live here. It is very hard to live out here on less than 6 figures. The girls to guy ratio is one of the worst in the country. Not a bad place to live if you like the outdoors but don't come here to find a nice girl unless you are really willing to work for it.....Best of Luck...

re: Why so hostile in SoCal
Posted: 7/8/2006 9:26:15 AM
From what I have read -SoCal has a very high Male to Female ratio. It also has a very high number of "transition" residents. You can find some isolated communities here if you know where to look. It can be a very difficult place to date if you don't have a thick skin..There are good people everywhere if you have the patience to search them out....Good Luck..

I'm Not Attracted To Men My Age....
Posted: 5/14/2006 10:42:14 PM

Wow, what a read!

And I thought reality TV was good...I've never dated a younger woman. The other night I met a woman who just astounded me when she told me she was 55! We don't have a whole lot of women here in SoCal but what we do have is very good! I'm sometimes amazed at how youthful a person can be in their 50's. I know if takes a lot of work but I, for one, can sure appreciate it. I think a woman who really takes care of herself is absolutely ageless. I will have no wine before its time...ha, ha....

How long have you been doing online dating?
Posted: 5/3/2006 10:31:57 PM
About 5 years...

Meet up about once a year with someone. Still good friends with a few that are still here in Cal.

I think there are much better ways to hook up than online if you are looking for a date. On line friends tend to be a bit more cerebral and ' how can I put this nicely' - reserved. Not that many extroverts here...ha, ha.....

Over 45 and Single - Is it easier to get a 6 pack or get laid?
Posted: 4/21/2006 10:45:38 PM
I agree with that one...Here is SoCal you have to have a six pack just to get over the boarder- ha, ha....Keeping a six pack is way easier....

What is learned in relationships?
Posted: 4/21/2006 12:48:45 AM
A relationship is something you both have to work on. Just like a garden, you have to water and feed it. It needs sunlight, rain and a little fertilizer every now and then. Find someone who wants the same kind of garden you do and you will be OK..Don't go to bed angry and be as honest as you can. Try not to step on your mates buttons. You just might get lucky...

Scared to Commit, but don't want to be alone
Posted: 4/21/2006 12:32:02 AM
I can identify with this one...No one should be alone, but it is much worse to marry someone who makes you feel worse than alone...I have many friends who were so releaved to be alone after a failed marriage..I think dating is fine as long as you agree that you are dating. People have less and less in common in these times. Make sure you have enough agreement with someone before going to the alter...

Has anyone NEVER had a ONE NIGHT STAND?
Posted: 4/20/2006 9:11:50 AM
I've never had a one night stand. I've thought about it before but I'm just one of those people who likes to know someone a bit better before jumping in the sack. In fact, I've only had two sexual relationships in my life. Just a little inexperienced in that department.
