What was so great about Elvis Presley
Posted: 2/9/2009 4:12:28 PM
I think he was very good for his time! but I think his time has past, and all this impersonating that never seems to end, is only cheapening his memory and making him into a joke! ...it's not honoring him in any way! The guy who managed the Beatles Brian Epstein, once said the main reason their popularity lasted so long, was because he purposely kept them out of the public eye, and there must be something to that because it's happening now to Celeine Dion, as she overexposes herself tremendously.

favourite paintings

My favorite type of art is Abstract, Strangely enough though, most of the painters I admire are not anyone most people would have heard of, they are still struggling artists ....Josiane Childers is one of my favorites that comes to mind!

Who gets to say what is fine art?
Posted: 2/4/2009 6:20:35 PM
I have been to countless shows with Art like that, the last one being only a few weeks ago, featured work was an exhibit of Lumber, 2 x4's with common Nails driven half way into them! and what really puzzles me is, if you look at the Resumes and Bio's of these artists, they are a mile long containing not just gallery showings, but museums and the same tour venue as someone like Picasso! I have been an artist for most of my life, and I still can't figure out how some artists can sell that Junk! ...And whats even more puzzling is, ....who buys it and puts it in their house!

Becoming a Musician
Posted: 12/13/2008 12:29:34 PM
Theres no doubt about it, it's a rough business! I think one of the worst things about the music business is not ever being able to control where you or your band is headed, it's always up to sombody else's decisions! all you can do is get in line and take a number. You should certainly follow your passion as long as success seems possible, but keep an alternative career back there just in case! I have several friends who make a ton of money by day, and still get their kicks on weekends being in bar bands.

Guitar, losing my skills!!
Posted: 4/11/2008 9:39:06 AM
I had not picked up a guitar in maybe 20 years, and just the other day at a mall I walked into a Musicians Superstore, we have them here in Florida, more guitars than I knew existed, a lot has happened in 20 years, at the time there were maybe 5 top brands, FENDER mostly, now it's 100's!!! Anyway I was surprised how much suddenly came back to me in that few seconds, the salesman even recognized the CREME song. I think as long as you get that renewed interest you can get as good as you ever were, maybe even better. until the other day, I was thinking about getting a new motorcycle, but after a friend was almost killed recently, a New Ibenez is looking way Smarter.

Is being creative really a good thing ?!
Posted: 4/2/2008 1:58:44 PM
I remember when I was young, everyone I knew was obsessed with being IN, or COOL or whatever you want to call it. This included the way you dressed, they way you acted, or even your thinking! it was an endless list, But as you got older these things did not seem important anymore, Unfortunatly adults these days seem to be more interested in living just like their children then trying to be adults! What I mean by this is, you are likely to run into a lot of people out there who are very much concerned with conforming or doing whats IN, more than thinking outside the box. But I think you should stick to your ways, because very few of those Conformers seem very happy.

What is the difference between Having Sex and Making Love
Posted: 3/8/2008 2:05:53 PM
Personally I don't see how anyone these days could know the difference between either of them! all everyone seems to be concerned with is, are her breasts big enough! or are they Real! ..If it's not that, it's about Penis Size! It's like everyone is trying to qualify for a part in a porno movie! What I'm trying to say is, I don't think most people even understand what just enjoying sex is about anymore.

single men in their 30s living alone with a dog
Posted: 3/1/2008 3:06:15 PM
OP, Calling men losers is practically a worn out expression with some women these days. I remember a night last year when I met a few male friends of mine at a local club, we were having our drinks and talking between ourselves for about an hour, it was a week night and the club was kind of slow, and we had not even noticed a group of maybe 6 women sitting at the back of the room, They suddenly got up and were walking out when two of them approached us and asked if we were GAY! my friend said No! why do you ask? ..she then went on to say that all of us had sat there for over an hour and never approached any of them to talk or ask them to dance!
at that point one of them said "guys like us are Losers anyway!! and then they left. We asked their waiter if they were drunk, and he said no way they were all drinking bottled water. So as you can see that stuff happens all the time! I wouldn't worry too much about the opinions of two people.

How important is money?
Posted: 2/29/2008 1:36:18 PM
"It just as easy for a woman to fall in love with a rich man as it is a poor one...so why not go for the more financial secure man?" What troubles me most about the real life version of that old saying is, ...if that is true! there is obviously very little concern for who that financially secure man is! because if you venture down to south Florida you will see some of the most despicable examples of single men, unbelievably obese, Foul Smelling, Teeth missing, Older than your Grandfather, some of them with Oxygen canisters, but all with Money of course! and each one of them has an endless supply of young beautiful girls hanging all over them! who just happen not to notice any of those things! ....This is what concerns me!

Reading your partner's emails...how serious an offence?
Posted: 2/15/2008 12:04:42 PM
I had been seeing a woman a few years back, who managed to guess the password I was using, and she started logging on to my homepage from her house or her job! she was reading my mail for months as near as I can figure, I only caught on to it because I was receiving emails from my father about a very private business deal, and she accidentally said something about it one night! ...My advice to everyone, is guard your password and maybe change it often!

Is it okay for a woman to hit a man?
Posted: 2/5/2008 4:42:24 PM
If you watch TV or Movies, you will see tons of shows depicting WOMEN Slapping, Kicking men in the groin, hitting them with deadly objects! ... and very little of it has to do with self Defense! ... It's usually in retalitation for some domestic situation she feels is justifyable. This says a great deal about the beliefs of our society these days.

Tit for tat or Mean spirited?
Posted: 1/24/2008 12:08:00 PM
I think if you were wise you would certainly give him his things! but more important if you had or have feelings for this man you should ask to meet up and talk over what may be going on! Usually when men leave a woman suddenly and without any personal contact it is one of two things they are very Angry! like he may believe you cheated on him! Or he may have met someone else and he, may be feeling very Guilty. None the less you should try and find out!

where have the old fashioned values gone
Posted: 1/13/2008 4:29:41 PM
I'm not sure old fashioned values ever existed, My father used to sell Vacuum Cleaners door to door back in the 1950's, and he used to tell me how at the weekly meeting, all the salesmen and my father were laughing about how many of the housewives were offering sex in return for the new vacuums. .......And this was in the 1950's.

Too Many Options = Unhappiness?
Posted: 1/13/2008 4:01:30 PM
I notice when I go to a Nightclub on a busy Friday night and there are loads of good looking people out there, everyone just seem to be dazed and looking around, as if they don't know who they want to talk to, and yet on quieter nights the same people seem to be much more focused and will talk with anyone! ...My friend calls it the BUFFET SYNDROME, where there is all kinds of food in front of you, but you can't decide what you really want!

Is Intelligence A Curse In Relationships?
Posted: 1/12/2008 2:55:11 PM
Looking at the original date of this post, I knew it had to be pretty ancient!
for 23 pages to spring up overnight someone would have to have to been telling where GOLD WAS BURIED!

Anyhow back to the original question from the OP, I think you are right, Intelligence can be a big problem in relationships, but I think there are reasons why! It really depends a lot on the people involved, if one of them is more intelligent and is admired by the other party for that reason, then it may be a good thing, but unfortunately many couples don't share that mutual admiration for each others talents, especially if one of them uses it as a constant weapon against the other one. I do know what you are saying though there are not to many women or men jumping into bed with people for their minds!!

do we attract a certain type
Posted: 1/10/2008 3:52:16 PM
People are attracted First By (Appearance) and secondly by (Body Language) those are the strongest initial attractors. Whether we know it or not, we all have a desired Type we prefer, You can tell people till your blue in the face what you want, and what your looking for, but your appearance and Body Language will dictate who comes after you! and unfortunately sometimes these can be wierd people.

Are you looking for a partner or a novelty act
Posted: 1/1/2008 5:24:14 PM
There are a lot of disfunctional people out there, and they are almost always interested in something unuasual in a mate, such as Drugs, Long Hair, Tatoos, piercings, band members, Bartenders, Bouncers, Uniforms. The sad part of it is, that it's hard to find people out there that are not crazy in love with these images! It seems in this world Normal is Boring.

THE WALL AROUND MY HEART!!!!!!!!
Posted: 12/31/2007 11:53:04 AM
I have a lot of friends who are in you same boat you are in (The Wall problem) but I also find that they are all people who go way overboard way too soon in every relationship they get into! I think you have to be responsible for your own emotions in any relationship! These people always seem to become insanely dependant emotion wise, on the G/F or B/f (which incidently makes you even more disinteresting to that person) I guess what I'm saying here is look at each relationship for what it really is, not what you want it to be! ...you can always tell when the other person is not as interested in you, as you are in them! You may not want to see it! ...but it's there!
so next time around take it slow, keep your eyes open, and you will not need your wall.

expectations
Posted: 12/27/2007 2:31:38 PM
Relationships are extremly difficult these days, I'm not sure if "expectations" even play a part in relationships any longer! I live down in Ft. Lauderdale FL, I was part of a social group that had at least 800 members, all of them dated each other at some point, and I don't think any of them lasted past three weeks. and if you listened to some of the reasons they were unbelievably petty! ... It seems people are no longer willing to put up with any flaws in the other person.
