Profession?
Posted: 8/9/2005 1:07:33 AM

Much more impressive, I think, would be somebody who said they devote all their time to multiple intriguing hobbies and were constantly trying new things.

That's where *i* would wish to be, no doubt about it

I don't advertise what i do. Like now, i should be doing something, but i can't remember what. Who cares. But i ask if people i meet online does have a job, and if i have known them for some time i think it smells kinda fishy if they don't tell me anything work related at all.. Might be a secret agent.. or even a terrorist.. way out of my leauge.. I just get the creepy feeling they hide something.

It's (one of) the oldest trick in the book, and i think most men discover it early in life. Sure it works to get attention.

But i'm not interested, that's why i ignored her in the first place, so what's in it for me?

one question. high speed isp usualy have limit 10-20gig per month.
so, if they will offer you 100mb speed how they will deal with traffic issue?

I took a little check. 100mb fiber today would cost SEK 595.- /month. You have a 300GB quota, but they don't count 'telephony, broadband movies or pc-tv'.

Right now, Bredbandsbolaget is offering bi-directional 10MB connections for SEK 330.- /month without limits on the download.

How much you pay for stuff like that in the US anyway?

Hm.. I don't know about Hong Kong, but Japan seem cheap. And my neighbours in Sweden have nice prices also. 1GIG for $219, why not? I would not be to surprised.

By INQUIRER staff: Monday 22 December 2003, 08:40

WHILE SWEDES might feel they are lucky getting 100Mbit/s broadband connections for SEK 895, that's ludicrously expensive compared to Japan.
A colleague from a Japanese magazine says that NTT East has offered 100Mbps bi-directional service at ¥5880 (around £30) a month including VAT since April this year.
And NTT West has an even more impressive offering, selling a similar service for ¥5670.

The moral here is, that yes it can work, but it is still hella hard being far away from someone you care deeply for. It takes dedication.

I agree.. But forever is a looong time to be in a long distance relationship. If i could not see the end of it, i don't think i could handle it. One has to move..

Still using Opera. It won't open play all videos it encounters though, and I have to hit refresh constantly when I'm using the forums. That's the only complaints I have about it.

Opera can auto update. Right click and activate the refresh.. every 30 minutes down to 5 sec. Havent had any problems with video yet.

Pappy, no need for the cap to understand that Engeland can go all the way this time.

It's way to early to discuss the final really, but i just had the same thought as you on this one, i'm surprised that so few believe in England 2006. Might be some great odds here..
I hear romours they will have more tickets for sale in December, but not many...

But let's see who will be there first. So far only Germany and Argentina are qualified of the 'big guns'. No disrespect for Japan, Iran, Korea or Saudi Arabia. I just don't see any of them as a realistic winner.

Guy with one nut on a bike. Thrilling..

When Lance Armstrong started this years Tour de France with the 19 km prologue Frometine -
Noirmoutier-en-I’lle he did it as the greatest cyclist through all times.

Not only has he won the tour incredible six times in a row.

He has become a superstar in the whole world and scattered the sport to new markets like China and India. Lance Armstrong have made a whole generation of cyclists to loosers.

-I'd rather have the title 'the man who survived cancer' than winning the worlds hardest cyclerace, he said in a Norwegian magazine.

And he told about that day. October 2, 1996. The day he went to his doctor home in Texas with a testicle the size of a orange, and got the message that he had cancer and his chances were less than 40%.

- I was a world class athlete with a big house and a brand new porsche, a fortune in the bank.I left my house as a human being and came back as someone else.

- Of course i should have felt something were wrong. But cyclists live in a world of denial.
Because when you sit there on the bike day after day, for 6 or 7 hours in all kind of weather and foundation you learn how to deny pain. You have to do that to finish the race, he says.

So he did like he did on his bike, he denied all pain and logic, and fought his way back.

NOBODY could imagine that he, only 9 years later should fight for his seventh victory in the classic Tour de France. NOBODY.

And he did what neither Michael Jordan or Muhammad Ali did. He retired when he was on the top. Everybody, the whole world knew it was his last tour, he was already in the historybooks, and he gave the best of the best a fair chance to beat him and earn their place in the same books of records.

3390 km and 21 stages. Guy with one nut on a bike.

To me he is Lance Armstrong, the man who survived cancer.
