Racygirl - I like woman that has her own opinions. It is much easier to talk with somebody like that and not with one that is shallow. You just live too far...

Hi Warmcat,
I will just add that those "Dating Police" people are losers and the only thing that they are able to do is just post nasty messages. Otherwise they are already long forgotten and nobody want to see them.
Just block and ignore them.

religion and war

Although I am not religious I totally disagree with this statement:
Religion and War are impossible to separate.
Just because some use religion for their purpose it still does not mean that they are “impossible to separate”. Some countries do not have constitution because they have trouble to separate religion from law, but this also does not mean that they are impossible to separate as most countries in the world did.

OK... To your points:
I am talking only about the US market:
1. History is repeating itself but not exactly. Last October it supposed to crash – yet it made all time highs…
2. That is right but as you see the markets are not falling even after that huge losses announced by Citibank, GM, CFC and others in US and Europe. I presume we will see 300-500 billion write-offs. The US dollar lost half of its value, still everybody are happy. Bush is throwing money from the sky just to pass this election year. So if the market should fell is should be now at S&P 1,000 if not lower, but its not! Therefore the surprises may come on the upside.
All what you say about people selling is true but why it is still so high? That means that "somebody" is accumulating at these prices. These are not individuals. They are already heavily in and just waiting to get out. China and Middle East countries are the buyers. Yuan value will slowly, slowly move down. They don't care what US wants. Their economy is already bigger and stronger than the US and if they need oil – they will go to Russia that will be very happy to sell them oil at 50% of its price so US will not be able to close their tap.
I am not looking for long term but I also do not see crash anytime soon. US exporting their inflation to whole the world and as they assets get cheaper there are many buyers. Some of them want to get rid of US dollars - China and India, Some want assets is US like the rich Middle East countries.
I just want to remind you that the last two crashes were in... 1929 and 1987. So don’t wait for crash - slow deterioration - yes, but not crash. BTW: 1991 and 2000 were slow ones but there was plenty of time than to get out.
US housing market will continue suffer as well as Ozi. That is a problem that was created by Bush-Greenspan money printing machine. Fortunately it is only 10% of US market.
And… Gold will probably shine for a while. Also, never put all your cash in any asset even if it sounds the best.
So as I said before – or it will go down to slightly lower lows and up, or it will move sideways and than up.
Will see and remember “Even in the worst times somebody is making a profit”…

server problem?
Posted:
2/16/2008 11:04:07 PM
The problem is probably that the photo size is too big. Some servers = computers accepting the mail files, are accepting files that are smaller than 1Mb. Check if your photos are finishing with .bmp and what is their size. The usual size of these files can be very big – from 3 to 12Mb and even more.
To reduce those sizes go to any photo editing program. Open a photo and save it as .jpg or .jpeg file. That should reduce the photo size from 3 to 20 times and the photo quality will be around 90% of the original.
The other idea is using WinRar or any other Zip program but that will not reduce the photo file by much and depends on the photo itself.
I hope it will help.

Regarding the "cesspools of breeding bacteria" - well life is dangerous anyway so another few bugs won’t kill me but on the other hand not doing any activity can kill.

I already posted in this thread quite a lot and you know my opinion. This is not personal and never was . It is just what I said before
... -hey there are 30 countries in the alliance - so please blame US and maybe UK and Howard but not Australia.
Also I never “join” other people opinions just for the sake of it. I learned that to be leader you have to do something and what the paganwinter said is correct.
You have very defined opinion as each of us has I presume, but complaining here will not achieve anything. To lead is for example: write letters to politicians, publish your views in newspaper organize groups of people that will agree with you and think how you can influence the public opinion POSITIVELY. That is "Doing something about it".
So don’t give examples like being suicide bomber because all that they do is getting the wrong kind of fame…
This site is dating site as I recall. So we can discuss some issues here, but don’t think that if some of us not agree with you all the way, we are getting personal. There are other sites dedicated to politics. Sound your voice there.

4. If I will start thread on stock market there will more controversy than on the Iraq problem and few people can take it too seriously like some did in the Iraq thread
5. Just a hint for you - The US will not go much lower, in the worse case maybe will break recent lows a bit and than move to new highs. In the best case - nothing rough for 2-5 weeks and than up. Don’t quote me on this one. I never said that...

You already know my opinion from my previous posts but - hey there are 30 countries in the alliance - so please blame US and maybe UK and Howard but not Australia.
Regarding refugees - that is a totally different story. The question will be what bordering countries will do with them and I hope that unlike Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon did in 1948, they will not make the same error again by make them be in camps along the borders in order to grow future terrorists.
It looks to me that you are trying too hard to blame every alliance country. That is wrong and will not change anything. There are political reasons that many small countries joined.

Yes, we probably moved “a bit” from the main subject. Surely the Allies are not responsible directly for all the deaths but US and the Allies opened a Pandora box that should be opened 30 years ago and not now. So we cannot just ignore the deaths and say “well now it’s their problem”.
Your brother is a soldier and not a politician, which gave the orders. He is doing his job and that is it. I don’t have anything against him or other soldiers that are unfortunately 24 hours in terrible danger. What I was talking about are the politicians that knew very well why they were starting this war. Excuses like “weapons of mass destructions”, Alkaida and other great ideas that later on were proven as lies.
So your brother and all Australian soldiers doing what they suppose to do but that has nothing to do with “our lifestyle”, or patriotism, because it would not change anyway, when the reasons to start this war were untrue.

Stanley,
I will not post anymore too about this subject to you, but really I do not have anything personally against you and my comments here are just comments on the subject and not a personal attack.
1. If other country attacks Australia – we are defending ourself and the one that started that war has no justification.
2. As you notice I know something about this subject too and also from my family and I think you are still totally wrong about WWII.
3. Well I heard that excuse why they did not bombarded the concentration camps. It is better to destroy the infrastructure of the camp and to kill 10,000 innocent people in the camp that is burning efficiently 6,000-20,000 daily than let it does the job. This excuse is just hypocrisy and I am not blaming you for it. I read that excuse in books.
4. Most of the weapons that were supplied to Russia were supplied unfortunately in 1945.
So Stanley again – don’t take it personally – I can be wrong too.

I mostly agree with your last post but we cannot ignore who started the problem that we have 1 million death. The war should be started in the 70's when Saddam was already doing his killings. But at that time it wasn’t convenient to US. So suddenly after 9/11 is it the right time? Now its 1 million and as you said that is starting to look like internal civil war that will probably divide Iraq to 4 different countries and in my opinion the real war between the fraction has not started yet.
Just please don’t confuse this war in Iraq with us able to live our lifestyle. The Taliban was doing all the terrible things in the 90’s long after the war with Russia was over and US did nothing all the time it wasn’t their problem. (Really what resources Afghanistan has? Nothing to made money from…)
That reminds me - hey - what about Cuba – they have sugar = Ethanol?

The lesser of 2 Hitlers was Stalin, he was much more af a monstor than Hitler ever was but he was also less of a threat and an ally against the Germans when all looked hopeless. The US gave Russia weapons to fight the Germans but ended up in a Cold war with the Russians! Like I said it just doesn't end!
Hey - US gave weapons to Russia – WHEN? - at the very end of the war, in 1945! Why did not do that in 1940 or 1942?
Because it was so convenient to let Hitler fight with Stalin and kill each other. And who really cares about Jews or Gypsies?
One thing I do agree with you - Stalin and Hitler were both tyrants but that is totally different story.

Sorry Stanley, I did not miss the MORAL word.
The problem is that your comparison of Hitler to Saddam is wrong. Saddam in the whole 40 years of his regime killed 5,000 Iraqis what is by my standard 5,000 too much BUT don’t compare him to Hitler that by the time that Mr Chamberlain negotiated the non aggressin treaty with him in 1938 killed already tens of thousands in just 5 years. This is A very poor comparison. Maybe better compare Saddam to Pol-Pot that US did NOTHING to stop him and later on gave silly excuses that he is hiding in the mountains and is hard to find… while journalists found him quite easily for interviews… The same is happening now with Osama that is “hiding” and is “hard to find”. In other words - keep people in fear and do what you want. That is old trick still works perfectly today. And don’t confuse this with Bush the puppet – its all Mr Cheney politics.
Haven’t you notice that while people are afraid they always tend to vote for the “right” side and not the “left”?
US went to Vietnam because of McCarty fanaticism of “Communists want to kill the capitalist world” and Mr McNamara ideas that he himself admitted in his book that they were terrible error. That story of “cold war” lasted until 1991. So now there is nobody to fight and no reason to produce weapons and poor Lockheed, General Dynamics and other defence companies will go out of business.
I served in the army and been in war. Don’t ever tell me about – justified war. There are no justified wars – money and politics but especially someone’s ILL ego sending people to die.
WWII could be easily averted if people like Chamberlain would NOT think that it will be great idea for Hitler to fight the Communists in Russia and than will see… He could stop that devil long before Hitler became so powerful. Have you checked how many Russian died in WWII ? from the 72 million? and when the great Americans came to help and how many of them die in Europe? Well re-check that and also notice why they came to “help”. The reason was that they wanted influence in Europe and were afraid that Russia will “acquire” all Germany and France.
So where is the “patriotism and what were the real values here?
Would you be happy to let Hitler kill Jews in Germany and do nothing!
Hmmm – that is exactly what the west did all the time that Hitler kill them in Germany – NOTHING !! The west get upset only when Stalin did treaty with Hitler and even, through all the war years they did not bombarded the concentrations camps even that they knew what was going on there.

^^^ Dark Stanley,
Well, so do you think that this war is REALLY for bringing "democracy" to Iraq and it’s justified to by the way kill up to now, 1 million people...
What is has to do with "patriotism" and "values to fight for them...
WOW - Bush - Chaney propaganda machine is working very well...
And - What about OIL control and business. Hmmm ?
Ask yourself what US had to do in Vietnam too... and Mr Kissinger receiving Nobel Price for Peace while today there are diplomatic relations between "North" Vietnam and US...
"The truth about war is that people die" - and the really worse thing is that this death is without purpose. 50 years later nobody even knows what is was about...

Actually Mark, Howard did discourage it. He cut 3 billon dollars to universities when he started his first term. As a direct result of this, many gifted students left to learn overseas and stayed there. Than in 2000 he was very vocal when he gave = returned 1.5 billon back to the universities. Unfortunately it was too late and too little.

New Zeeland does not have the resources in the ground and the work force that Australia has. Their economical situation did improve a lot but in comparison to Australia they are far behind. Their economy could not receive the same benefits as Australia. Geographically close still does not mean that both economies can be compared.

Say what you like about John Howard and Peter Costello but at least they made sure that those people who wanted a job had a job.
I don’t know if you read my previous message but the job creation was not by any means the work of Howard and Costello. Australia is influenced by external sources and the job creation was direct result of world biggest economies printing money in order to create employment:
Europe in the late 90's,
Dramatic collapse of the US stock market in 2000-2002
Huge printing of money by the US Federal Reserve that swept the world
Artificial keeping US interest rates at very low levels to propel their economy by taking the food and oil out of their CPI.
That caused credit boom all over the world and gave boost to all world economies and especially Europe and East Asian.
The end result of it is current collapse in the credit markets all over the world, losses of billions by banks, collapse of the US real estate, huge deficit in the US and sooner or later a recession.
The jobs created here is NOT the work of previous government but a direct result of growing US deficit, the strength of East Asian economies after 1997 collapse and China and India in particular.

Banks and their fee's

What you say is unfortunately wrong. Compare the balance sheets from 10 years ago and now...
Bank fees could be slashed by at least 70%. In recession times they hire less people for the same amout of work, introduce efficiency and do not inflate salaries of CEO, CFO and other high ranking executives. Look how nicely Westpac bank with efficient management went from loss of billions to profits within 4 years in the 90's, while other banks were still loosing money.
The fees increases are covering not your salaries but mostly derivatives losses and inflated managements costs. All other stuff salaries are only small percentage of the other expenses.

After we landed, we were so drunk that she did not recognized her own husband... and I got punched on my face.

Regarding what should be done - I have seen over the last 11.5 years raising interest rates, huge cuts to universities and education, huge fees increases to uni students and raising inflation. Students leaving to learn overseas and not returning back. Just go to the supermarket and see how much milk, meat or butter cost 11.5 years ago and now. The prices raised much more than any salaries.
So is our economic situation so great that after this rate increase or the next one we should blame Labour for all the faults?
Gee, you people forgetting fast all the Abbot & Costello years and going to blame Labour?
Not to mention that the so called "great economic growth and low interests rates" over Howard times were NOT the result of proper economic management but A result of world and especially US collapse of rates after 9/11 and the great growth of Chinees and Asian economies over last 4 years.
The only thing that Costello did is throw money from helicopters as Bush did few days ago in the US. That is the silliest thing that they ever did and that is just showing how desperate they are fixing holes and not fixing and seeing the great picture.
So instead of complaining about Labour and Unions let Labour do the job, give them 3 years and also check the macro economical arena and not only Australian economy that is only 1.5% of global economy. And as such it is influenced nearly 100% by EXTERNAL sources.

Foreplay...pffft...just as annoying as the support act they traipse out to fill in time before the band you actually wanted to see comes on.
Wow, what an interesting comparison...

Has anyone been brave enough to meet someone with no pic at all?

That reminds me that church billboard:
"Stying in bed screaming, Oh God! Does not constitute going to church"

"so a self employed criminal would be better than someone unemployed? " actually better I presume
Also some make the money working all day while other making the same amount working only 10 min a day. Both ways are legal. Hmmm

It was there but I did not have time for it I presume...

Good thinking Hilly! It is time to talk about serious things... Yes, it was... some time ago... hmmm... I just remember now... sometime around 2007
I must say - definitely improve with age. I presume it is because we are not so rushing to only satisfy ourself but also thinking about our partners. The for play and the five play are not something I used to do when I was 20 but now I do.

I would suggest checking what "Three" has on offer. Their prices are the cheapest, but also check their coverage area. Telstra is the dearest and their support is the worst.

I can understand what you said about yourself because I used to work very long hours and sometime around the clock for few days. It caused problems with my relationship. So the only thing was to stop this.
In general regarding “is this fair” – it is not BUT it is also not fair for the other side. Put yourself in your partner shoes and think how would you like life like this? So I presume even that there is a chance that by not meeting a person because of his profession they can miss the person of their dreams, but when the dream will be over the problems will suface and will cause deterioration in the relationship.

Gee,
You see, I will charge him…
but really as I said in my starting message:
“it made me laugh although it is not so funny at all. I actually realized how good it is that this person did it.”
