What would you do?
Posted: 2/3/2008 12:57:27 PM
this kinda relationship is a ticking time bomb.

you can ask here to give up everything to be with you.
she might.

say she does.
what happens when the "newness" wears off, and you two are in the middle of a couple fight. dont you think she will quickly think, you just werent worth it, and she was a fool to take it this far?

cause eventually, no matter how in love you are, reality will set in.

Why do men make vomit-faces when you mention Oprah?
Posted: 2/3/2008 12:42:51 PM
doesnt like oprah?

who doesnt like oprah?

thats like hating kittens, or sunny days, or good meals.
shes like the least offensive kinda celebrity there is.
humble, generous, and intelligent.
plus, have you seen her act? brilliant.
her storys a tough one for sure, and seeing her beat the odds to become one of the most influential women ever, is just cool as hell.
hell, I am just proud to be able to see a intelligent black women get to where she is, and not have to comprimise too much along the way.
theres a few black women I've always had a great deal of respect for, maya angelou, nina simone, ella fitzgerald, and oprah. I like stories with people who have done amazing things through out thier life, and she's always stood out to me as one of the best.

wouldnt care - at all.
boob job? cool.
fixed teeth? - cool.
looking younger? - cool.

if these things make you happy, who am I to say you shouldnt do them?
I dont judge people on how they look, but who they are.
if I met a person like this, and they were a good person inside... whats bought and paid for wouldnt bother me one bit.

Christmas present for a 17 year old boy?
Posted: 12/16/2007 9:48:12 PM
when I was 17, things I would have wanted...

Music.
New skate deck (skateboard)
DVD player for my room (those are like $29 at fred myers, walmart, target, ect)

But -

for the love of god, do not get him clothing.
no matter how cool you think you are, how fashionable you think you are, how in touch with the "youth" you think you... you arent.
anything you pick for clothing, is a garaunteed failure.

I cant tell you how many christmas presents I've opend thinking "not even close".
then having these expensive corny clothes, that I had to hide for 6 months before giving away, or throwing away.

just dont.
dont.
its a disaster.

can any guys shed some light on this one?
Posted: 12/16/2007 9:36:23 PM
the only reason I can think of...

did he pay for these things?

if so, it doesnt really matter if there yours.
hes got a stubborn idea that "I payed for them, these are mine".

if its not that.
then my second guess would be, its a way to tie you to them.
so you always want your stuff back, but cant get him out of your life, cause you want them, and he wants you around.... to bother, or try to string along.

Dumbing yourself down
Posted: 12/16/2007 4:06:03 PM

do you find you have to dumb yourself down for those around you?

I wouldnt say thats completly correct in my case. I know I am rather smart at the things I have a interest in... art, science, photography, camera repair, computers, almost anything thats highly technical.
sometimes, when I get ideas, then someone wants to hear them, I find, I cannot say them in a way, that makes it easy for others to understand.
like a question I really hate, is when I get someone that knows nothing about cameras, or computers, asking me "whats the difference between a 10 megapixel camera?, and 6 megapixel camera", ..... well.... none really.
a 6 Mp and 10 Mp are the same camera really, just with resolution differences...
but try to explain resolution, or pixels... or why if all you print is pics smaller then 16 x 20, literally no digital camera bigger then 4 megs is necessary for you under any circumstance - ever.
then I might as well be talking to a cat.

ever see someone talk to thier cat?
my sister picks up her cat, and says "No!" to it, when it does something dumb.
that cat has no idea what your doing...

a bear might as well come up to you, pin you down and start growling.
you'd be scared for your life...
but that bear, might just be saying "hey man, me and my girl just had some cubs, wanna come see them, their right over there... yep, this is the best day of my life, oh hey, dont worry man, I am not gonna hurt you, I am just happy".
but all you hear is "RAARRRR".

thats how I feel when people ask me about things they have no idea of even how to understand them... I might as well be talking to my cat.

BUT.

I am no different.
take my friend ryan.
loves football.
talks to me all the time about it.
I have no idea what hes saying.... at all.
literally, no interest in the subject.
but he sits there telling me about these teams and players and how they do these great things, and how some play they just did was amazing...
and to me, it looks like "get the ball, run 10 feet, have 18 guys jump on you... do it over again, like 100 times over 5 hours...." call it a good day.
the entire thing seems to strange to me... yet he loves it.
theres just this complete and absolute seperation there between us, when football comes up.
I dont know anything about it... and have zero curiousity about the subject.
so everything he tells me, is pointless.
he knows that, but I dont think it matters to him.
I think he just wants to talk to someone about it, cause he loves it so much.

so when it comes to things like "whats better, raid zero, 1, 5,6 or 10", I could tell you in as much detail as you can stand.
but when it comes to who won todays games... I am a absolute idiot.

I am like that in many subjects.
for everything I am very smart with, theres 100 others I am a total retard with.

Does it frustrate you?

not at all.
I am a exceptionally patient person.

Does it make you angry?

haha, not even close.
it always makes me laugh...

Is it something you've struggled with for a good portion of your life?

I dont think so.
I am different then you, and you are different then me.
I can garauntee... for every genius out there, theres someone that knows something they dont.

Your Ex
Posted: 12/16/2007 3:31:43 PM
no, cause it will do you no good.

all your doing, is transfering you anger and hate and bad feelings onto them.
this leads to a circle.
you piss them off, later they think its ok to dump all thier crappyness onto you, and ruin your day.

it always comes back to you.

its best to realize, its just over... so move on.
the past is done, so leave it as it is. doesnt matter what happend, its done.
just move on.

eventually, everything that felt so important, that moment you wanted to dump all your crap onto them...
will seem kinda "distant", like "why did I ever feel that way".
till some day, its just gone.
so let it go.

I dont think you really forgot how...

its more like, everyone kisses differently, and learning how to kiss that person right, is abit of a trial and error process.
luckily, that doesnt take much more then a minute or two, and is abit fun anyways.

I cant imagine that that would intimedate anyone, except the meekest of guys out there.

its only once you start getting into talking about body building, do guys start to get weirded out with girls doing it.
not many guys want a girl that looks like arnold schwartzenegger.
mainly, cause plainly put, guys want girls, to be girls.... and theres a very specific idea of whats considerd "girly".
very weird if you start to try and break it down....
but I dont want hijack your thread here, so I'll be quiet now.

girls with short legs and low rise jeans? hahaha... thats a good one. thats funny.

Spandex - ewwwwwwwwwww.
how is it possible for something so tight, to make a girl look so horrible?

I guess I would say fat girls that wear stuff they definatly shouldnt be wearing.
seriously, if your 250 pounds... dont wear skin tight jeans. or belly shirts...

and old ladies trying to look 15.
thats so sad.
when I was a little kid, I had a girlfriend whos mom, thought it was cool to borrow her daughters clothes.
it was embarassing to her.... and extrordinarily pathetic to the rest of us.
though we all sympathized with her, theres not a whole lot you can do about embarassing parents.

a personal favorite.

old dudes trying to dress half thier age, to hit on young girls.
thats always a good laugh.

Why do so many people hate Emo?
Posted: 10/3/2007 1:17:57 PM
emo isnt so bad, its just this preachy "you guys feel nothing - only we do" attitude that people who are "emo" constantly imply.

if I didnt feel something from the music I like, I wouldnt ever have botherd with it in the first place.

just cause you sing about being deep, and having a frozen heart, and things that are black and doesnt mean your any good to listen to.

I need music that makes me feel something.
from the moment tori amos hits that high in "precious things", to the crazy guitars of metallicas "ride the lightning". I have a million songs that make me feel something, anything from regret to wanting to snowboard down a mountain at mach 10.
even AFI's own "Love Like Winter", or "Miss Murder" are great songs.

its not the music people tend to hate, its the annoying fact that people who tend to think they are emo, always seem to want to imply no one in the world feels anything besides them.

to which the rest of the world just naturally rebels and wants to flip a big middle finger to the whole thing.

most of us, dont need some image, or form of music, to feel something.

do men prefer shy and quiet or open and forward
Posted: 7/5/2007 11:18:58 PM
your friends a dumbass.
hes trying to conform you to a idea, that girls should be meek, and let the guy be the "hunter gather" type.
that may have worked in the 1950's but its a much different world now.
a girl can be anything she wants and still find someone, under any condition.

so just be who you are, not who the world wanted you to be in 1950.
it'll go much easier for him, as he will know who you are from day one, not day 2000.
it will be easier for you too, as you dont have to worry about maintaining a facade.
just be who you are.
if one guys intimedated by you, then move to the next one.

Did I Make A Mistake In Saying No
Posted: 5/14/2007 9:16:59 PM
story for you.

when I was 22, I hitched across america for awhile. its was great fun.... and the stupidest thing I ever did. among the various nights sleeping in bus stations... and walking 20 miles not seeing a single car... or hearing coyotes all night tracking you...

there was the more obvious danger.
the people.

ever ride I took, was from someone who smiles, and seems friendly, and like someone I could have trusted.
now, 98% are good people, with good hearts, just lookin to help me out along the way.
you see a kid, in the middle of the desert hitchhiking, most likely, your gonna be on your best and want to give them a ride where ever they are going...
most people are like that.
good people, and if they can see you need help, they will.

but others.
others smile... and talk about crazy stuff... like how they hate black people...
or what they did to a little girl they picked up a few years back.

one trucker, in arizona, was talking like he wanted to rape me.
if my knife wasnt clear as day to see, on the strap of my backpack, I am pretty sure that would not have been a good day for me.

another old lady, pretty much threw me out of her car at about 20 miles per hour, cause I said I wouldnt come to her house, and paint her fence... after she gave me a 20 minute ride, she wanted 2 days work outta me.
when I said no, she pretty much opend the door, and pushed me out, barely slowing down to do that...

and those were people that smiled and seemed like people I could have trusted.

a smile means nothing.
a smile is the easiest deception there is, cause we are made to trust people who smile.

not to say every smile, holds something bad behind it... but some do.

The media is to blame?
Posted: 5/2/2007 8:46:52 PM
the media isnt to blame.
the media is only a reflection of the things our society pays attention to.

but the media does not make us shallow, we ourself do that.
the media just helps encourage it.
but its no more different today, then it was 500 years ago.

take something as simple as the Mona Lisa, or the Statue of David.
these were considerd idealized forms of the human figure.... beautiful or something to aspire to. even back then, we had a great deal of emphisis on appearance, and such.

the internet, just magnifies our ability to be shallow and such.
now instead of meeting someone, getting to know them for 10-20 minutes in a bar/club/bus stop/library/store/blah blah blah... we just look at thier profile, and 2 seconds later say "nope, not even close".

but none of this is new...
its been around long before there was any sort of real "media" to try and cater to whatever our current society values.
we have a built in appreciation for beauty and such... and mix that with our egos, and you get even more complicated.

see, if your attractive, chances are, by your own ego, you have a feeling you deserve someone atleast fairly attractive too.

its a very strange issue, but nothing that hasnt been around for centuries before any form of current media.

Have you ever been 'in love' - what does it mean for you?
Posted: 1/27/2007 1:28:33 PM
love is different to different people.

to me, saying love is when you spend all your time with someone and cant be away from them, is exact what would drive me away from someone.

I am the kinda person that likes space, I need to be alone, doing my own thing sometimes.
I can't be around one person all the time, everyday, no matter how much I care for them, sometimes I just wanna do something else, without them.

so to me, that kinda description of love is stiffling and would honestly drive me away from someone, feeling they are too clingy and needy.
but to others, love is exactly that...
when you have to be around someone, and think of them all the time and all that.

I have been in love twice, and honestly, both times were very very different.

the first time, I loved being around her, and I guess she did too, cause we would spend days just hanging out and talking all day and night, laying on the bed, and listening to music, and joking around, writing things and just hanging out.
we really never went to movies or anything... just wasnt our thing.
we were more likely to walk 4-5 miles at 3 am, then go see a movie and dinner.
I had my own little life, skateboarding and my projects that I do with my art and photography and video, and all that... but almost all of that was seperate from her.
she really never asked me about my art, and such, and we talked so much, I never really thought about it. talking was our think...
laying around on her bed, for hours, telling stories and wasting time... thats how we "fell".
the rest came very naturally.
for 2 years we lasted like that... no fighting, no jealousy... being physical with her was cool... everything about that time was just "cool". life was mellow and calm.
I dont know when "love" became a thing with us... but it was definate.

the second time I fell in love, was a few girlfriends, and a few years later.

the next time, it was insane.
I mean, I have no real way to describe us...
she was insanely jealous of girls I knew.
I wanted to kick the teeth in of her friend pete every second I saw him, cause of his flirting.
she and I were constantly at each others throat... then the sex... hell... thats about what kept us together I think.
5 years... extreme highs, extreme lows... and the sex was the glue of us.
it was our intensity that made us attracted to each other...
we were both extremes of ourself.
she was incredibly jealous.
but her jealousy gave me a focus on her... kinda made me focus on her.
me wanting to kick her friends teeth through his head, gave her a twisted sense of how much she meant to me.
like I said, we were just crazy really.
but that workd for us.
the love was real, and her connection to me, was something I loved.
but like anything based on intensity... it can either explode, or just fizzle out...
and we just went nuclear.
we didnt just break up, we strapped a atom bomb to our back, hugged each other, and pushed the button and blew ourself across the planet.
how that was love... I can't really explain.
if you read this, and know what I mean... then you probably went through something like that too.

we never hated each other, we never called each other names, or anything bad...
we just had severe extremes.
romance was over the top. devotion was deadly. kissing took an hour. seperation was death. fights were monumental. love was all or nothing...

I guess thats what our love was... all or nothing.

what love will be for me next?
I have no idea...
but I doubt it will be like anything I experienced so far.

What did you do to YOUR HAIR!!!
Posted: 11/7/2006 2:23:18 PM
I had a girlfriend that did this.

I hated it... I reaaaaaaally hated it.
I think, I just got use to her look, then one day, she looked drastically different.
it kinda changes you, and them.
theres a psychological aspect to it I think... something about change and such...

on the flip side, I really dig girls with short hair, but its gotta be cool.
if you got a round head, dont have short hair, cause then your head just looks like a bowling ball...

hairs a weird thing.
I like girls with short hair, but I dont like drastic quick changes either... so girlfriend one day with long hair, then next day with short... bad.
girlfriend with long hair, then shorter the next, the short next month... I get use to it.

quick drastic changes, dont like.

Could he have gotten her phone number?
Posted: 11/7/2006 2:11:49 PM
to me.... it doesnt matter how many signs you think she gave...
it could mean she was interested.
it could mean she was bored and happy to have a distraction.
it could mean she is just being friendly.

going by "signs" is a very vague thing to do...
its like telling the weather, you might be right, you might be wrong, but when your wrong... your not even close to the mark.

but theres on thing I am certain of...
giving her his my space address?

he chickend out.
a phone call requires him to get the guts to make the first move, to call.
but thinking he's gonna hound her with a email or something... something which requires no human contact, and no "get the guts to make the first move"...

he chicked out and took the wimpy way.

call the girl.
its not that hard... its actually quite fun talking for the first time.
in my book... he chickend out.

are you just plain old declaring that marriage is a dumb thing...
or wanna know why people are afraid to end a relationship... which I dont quite get how it relates to your begining of the post...

however, I'd take a stab at your last question for the hell of it.

I'd simply say, most people just plain old dont like being alone.
you can complicate the answer by saying things like. some people are afraid to be alone, or are too attached to particular people for various reasons, like sex, love, money, or security...

but in general, I would just say, most people simply dont like being alone...

I like when they have nothing on under jeans... and have something on under a skirt/dress.
gives me something to take off her... which is half the fun.

ugly boobs
Posted: 10/9/2006 5:09:02 PM
I find alot of these answer to boarder on the BS scale around a 9.5

yes, boobs sometimes can be hiddious...
dont believe me?
go look at national geographic... or your grandma naked.

some guys just dont care... cause they are just glad anyones naked with them.
other guys still have a standard, and if your not up to that... then it's really hard to look beyond some crazy boobs or something shallow like that.

I can remember a few years back, in florida I was dating a girl for a few weeks, and it finally came down to us having sex... she was getting naked, I got her shirt off... and I felt like a machine, that just had my plug pulled out of the wall.
after I saw her chest, it was a disaster... triangular boobs, that were flat, and pointing downward... normally one would use the words "bouncy, jiggly" and such to describe boobs... I'd use the word "floppy, and droopy" to describe hers.
they were like beagles ears... with tiny nipples on them.
it was disturbing, cause she was perfect with her clothes on, great figure, but alittle flat chested, but that doesn't normally bother me. I really dont care about the size of a girls boobs, as long as somethings there, I am happy.
but in this case, it was like she had been hanging cinder blocks from her boobs all her life to stretch them out or something... which is why she always looks flat chested...

uhhh god that night was a disaster.
I am sure I was the worst sex she ever had that night, cause I was not interested at all.
I just wanted to get up and go home after I saw her chest, it was horrible.
unfortunatly I was a dumbass at the time, and just plain old stopped calling her and she got sad about it, and I was too young to know what I was doing... sleeping with a girl, then never bother to call her again.
we hung out sometimes after, but things just never clicked again for us.
I just couldn't picture being with her.
when I see my girl naked, I wanna be turned on... not turned away.

there are bad boobs out there...
just like you might see a guy you thinks hot, then he pulls down his pants, and it looks like a mini hotdog, fell into some guys afro... and your struggling to see his balls, when you realize they are hanging down by his knees.
yeah, thats not hot right?
sure, alot here would give a BS answer, and say "well if I love him I wouldnt care".
but I have enough girls as friends, that tell me crazy stuff, that would suggest otherwise.

damn I wish I could erase some of this crap from my brain...

the board is yours.
if he does not give it back, then thats theft.

you bought a new board true, but that does not mean the old board then becomes his.
it then means, you own 2 motherboards.

if you need help figuring out, if you got scammed. I can help you very easily, assuming you have the PC there, working now.

Motherboard Help
Posted: 9/21/2006 3:01:23 PM
1. What causes a motherboard to not work anymore?

the most common ways are 1 of 2 ways.

corrupting the bios, which for 98% of people isnt even a option. so thats not likely.
or, something caused a short.

a short can be done from almost anything, especially in a dusty enviroment, the worst is when dust gets down near the choke coils of the ram, or near the mosfets of the power regulators (PWM) but dust near the capacitors by the CPU socket can do just as much damage.
its important to atleast every few years clean out a computer.
one lady brought me a computer a few years ago, that didnt work.
I opend it up, and it was a inch and half of dust at the bottom of the case, and it was caked on, with a yellow goo... cause she was a smoker.... and the PSU was clogged in every concievable inch, with cat hair.

that PC very literally could have killed this person, from bursting into flames, while she slept or something.
cat hair is the worst, cause it gets in every inch of a PC, and once its in the PSU, its a big fire hazard, cause its putting a very flamable thing, on a very hot object...

very important, especially for smokers, and cat owners.
clean your PC sometimes.
just power it down, take a vacuum cleaner and suck out what you can, then take a can of air and blow out the rest, especially from the PSU.

a short can also happen from a bad PSU.
a cheap crappy PSU, can take out a motherboard, if theres a power surge...

unfortunatly I can think of a dozen more ways to kill a PSU, that aren't all to hard to have happen.... (but the list is boring and technical...)

2. If you replace a motherboard do you also have to replace the processor?

assuming the processor is from the same socket type, the no.
like if your board was a socket 478 Intel Pentium 4, and you replaced it with a Socket 478 board, then no.
but if for some reason, he switched your board from one socket, to another, then yes.
like say if you went from socket 478, to a AMD Socket 462, then yes you would need a new CPU for that board.
there are about a dozen types of sockets to have come out in the last 10 years.

heres how someone can take advantage of you, if they know you know nothing about your PC.

say you have a nice dual core AMD64 X2.... and the repair guy has a cheap single core 3000.
well, if you know nothing about your PC, and he knows this, he might be tempted to switch out your processor, for his...
you get a crappy working PC back, and he gets a $300 upgrade, and whatever you paid him for the "work".
there are many ways someone can take advantage of someone, if they dont know whats inside thier PC, swapping good parts out, for bad ones is the most common.

3. If I paid for the new motherboard, should I have got the old one back?

YES. ABSOLUTLY.
this is the most common way to stop someone from trying to switch out your good hardware, for thier junk hardware.

if this person switched out boards and CPU's for you, find out what he put in it, and find out what your PC originally had in it.
if you need help with that, I can help you very easily.
that is of course, if you think something shady happend...
if you trust the guy and all that, then dont worry about it.

4. Is it possible to tell if a comp is gonna crash by the comp just going slow? because thats the reason he said he can tell it is going to crash.

noooo.... thats like predicting the weather.
sometimes your right, sometimes your wrong, and it's always just your best guess.

a computer always gets slower from software only.
hardware, never wears out, never gets slower.
a 1 ghz CPU will be 1 GHz from the day you get it, till the day it stops working.
hardware, never wears out.

slowing down of a PC, is always software related.
anything software related, can be fixed.

5. What can I do to stop it from crashing or is it possible to prevent it at all?

hahah.... well, thats kinda impossible.

its hard to describe how complex windows really is... but I'll try.

windows, is a simple program, that every piece of hardware, that came out 10 years before it, and for the next 10 years after it... will have to be compatible with, so it's like trying to predict the future... while trying to make ancient hardware compatible... everything single product, from the cheapest no name 56k modem, right up to the top of the line X1950 videocard of today... all have to be compatible with windows.
that is a monumental task to ask of any single program.
on top of that, you have to also be compatible with millions of programs... that people write, people who are not connected to microsoft in any possible way most of the time, from hardware drivers... to little spyware programs, everything has to be compatible with it, software and hardware wise.
on top of all this... you have tons of ways to screw up, spy and hack that software, and theres always someone looking to do just that.
snoop on you while you type in your bank password, while your in seattle, and they are in brazil... or read everything you write in a email... or send you spyware, when you accept a picture, or try to pirate something... to the simple fact that the goverment knows every single thing you do, and see on the internet, by tracking you... (there is no such thing as privacy on the internet, the internet is considerd a public domain)
the complexity of what windows really is, is monumental.

it's like if someone built a building with 5 million doors in it, and gave you one key, to open every single door in that building...
thats whats expected of windows.
to be that one key, that does everything....

while it does exceptionally well, we are still human and make mistakes.
programming errors, security leaks, bad drivers. conflicting programs...
its always gonna be a issue.
crashes are just a unvoidable fact.
all that can really be done, is try to minimize the possibility.

in that sense, avoiding pirating sites, porn sites (the most common, and aggressive ways of getting spyware/viruses) to simple common knowlege, like keep your security up to date, with windows, and some forms of spyware and virus protection, and even more basic knowlege, like dont accept a picture download from someone you dont know, or dont open a email from someone you dont know.
cause not everything downloaded to your computer... needs you to know about it.
theres dozens of ways to comprise a computers security.

ok I gotta end this... I forgot what I was saying.

The pain of watching a hopeless guy, that wont stop talking to a girl ignoring him...
Posted: 9/3/2006 5:29:56 PM
wow, thats some snobby replies here...

first off... it's a story.
theres no "point", either you like hearing it, or you don't.
its there to laugh at. maybe relate to. maybe just to go "damn I am glad thats not me".

for the other person.

I am very observant.
I notice people and whats around me. telling a story about what I see... is no different then when you and your friends hang out and gossip, which you do. why? cause every single person on this planet, talks about someone else, at some time. cause we are all observant... not just me.
so dont try to make it seem like I have no life and I am spying, if this was happening 3 feet away from you, you'd try hard to not laugh too.
why your so serious about it, is beyond me...

this is a off topic post... meaning not really about dating... which is why its here.
theres no grand lesson here... its not a self help topic, its not a advice column, its not a bad poem... it's just something I saw...

to the one person that actually has a sense of humour and didnt try to find the meaning of life in my post... thanks.

The pain of watching a hopeless guy, that wont stop talking to a girl ignoring him...
Posted: 9/3/2006 3:12:14 PM
I dont know what to say about this guy.

I am sitting waiting for the bus, and across from me, theres a strange looking girl, listening to some music from a CD player, shes sitting down, looking out the window of the bus stop. its raining hard out, so we all had to be in there.
beside her, is this obviously uncomfortable guy, awkward looking guy, big head, skinny arms, a couple zits, looked like he cuts his hair with a vacuum cleaner... clean dressed, but dressed like a 5th grader going in for school portraits. you remember those days? where your mom would dress you up, in your least worn clothes, that you wish you could have burned, but couldnt cause they were some lame gift, like from your grandma on christmas, so you kinda had to keep them... and your mom sends you to school looking like a demented version of donald trump from kmart...
well, thats what he reminded me of.
obviously, the guy wasnt too good with the girls... but he was making the most fatal error I ever seen a guy do, and it was almost painfully sad to watch... like I wanted to go outside, and start pointing things out to him like "look she just turned up her music" "you notice how she just says "uh huh" after everything you say, and stares away from you? thats not a good sign".
like every bad signal she could have given, she was...

looking outside, away from him, giving him short answers to all his attempts at starting a conversation. getting fidgety with her hands waiting for the bus to show, turning up her music to ignore him further...
like, she had the total billboard neon sign above her head saying "NOT INTERESTED", followed up by a whole choir of people singing "another one bites the dust".

I just sat there, and I was seriously embarassed for the guy, cause I am sure once in like 5th grade I was probably like that too... but this was so bad to watch, cause he wasn't picking up on any of this... and just kept talking.

after about ten minutes of this... the bus was late, and I guess she just broke down, and was gonna try to be nice, cause she finally answerd him on something.

he said something about, himself wanting to get a CD player, with MP3 playback...

she replied about he should just get a Ipod, and such.

actually I am getting ahead of myself, let me bring up one part of something he said, cause it related directly to this next part.
a few minutes before this, he said something about turning 32 in a few weeks... to which she just replied "Uh Huh".

well now, this Ipod comment.
shes talking just alittle bit... and he cuts her off.... almost the worst thing he could have done right then right? if shes gonna break down, and talk... let her.
for whatever reason, she was giving him 1/10th of a chance at getting her to talk... and he cuts her off, not just lightly... but totally, the middle of the sentance.
if he just let her finish her sentance, he might have had a slight chance... he might have got a conversation going with her... but not only did he do this... he took his chance, doused it in gasoline, and threw a match on it, coverd it with grenades and dynamite, and blew it up into a million pieces with what he cut her off with...

something like "yeah, maybe when I turn 32, I'll get my mom to get me a Ipod"

now, granted, thats very open to interpretation.
it could mean, he's close with her.
it could mean, she likes giving gifts...

or it could mean, he's 32, living with his mom, living off his mom...

yeah, I might be wrong, but thats what it sounded like to me.
this girl, must have thought the same thing, cause if she was ignoring him a few minutes ago, she was giving him the total artic chill cold shoulder now.

it was so bad, I just pulled my hat down in front of my eyes, and stared at my shoes, cause I just couldnt watch it anymore.

I think some part of me knows, I was that guy once, and I know it was bad... we all were once like this guy.
but still, it's painful to watch, cause it's embarassing and you know at some point you did that too, so you can kinda relate.

when the bus came, she made it a point to get on last... and sat at the other end of the bus.

him, he sat across from me, staring out the window, looking over at her.
he still thought he had a chance, like she was playing hard to get.
atleast, from how he looked at her, I think he thought that.
I aint no mind reader, but it aint hard to tell, when a guy still thinks he's got a shot...
cause the shot down look, is much different.

uh my god, I hope I never see that guy again.
he's probably bugging her somewhere right now, cause they probably work together or something....

why didnt´jazz die?
Posted: 9/3/2006 2:10:22 PM
Jazz by its very nature isnt meant to be a main stream form of music. its not something you can put in the cookie cutter, and have 2 million record sales from it in a week...
you want cookie cutter, go with it, obviously jazz isnt in you.

yeah, jazz is something thats either in your, or it isn't.
and if its not in you today, it never will be, and you will never understand why someone would like it.

why? cause jazz is a very personal form of music, based on a feeling, a soul, a emotion of that person playing it. its a vibe you gotta get, and if you dont get it, you cant really understand it.

like all art, its open to interpretation.
like do you look at the painting "whistlers mother", and felt something that just made you think "whoa..." or did you just glance and think "whats the big deal, its just a old lady?"

Art and Jazz are very similar in that aspect.
either you hear some form of jazz, and you just get it...
or you think "whats the big deal".

and whether not a single person on your contenent got that feeling from some jazz musician... I garauntee you... somewhere, someone will hear that, and just be moved. something in them responds to it, cause it speaks to you and makes you feel something.

that is why it never dies, and why its never gonna be a mainstream form of music.
by its very nature, jazz is meant to be a very personal form of music.
jazz is based alot on the feeling and emotion of the person playing it, which is why alot of the best jazz musicians ever... never actually write music.
they play it as they feel it.

GUYS: Why the fascination with auto racing???
Posted: 9/3/2006 1:53:43 PM
guys like speed.

guys like the possibility of something crashing and blowing up, and being there to see it.

that alone, makes it something some guys would like.
especially if your prone to driving trucks from the mid 1980's... with 4 foot tall tires on them, and gun racks in back.

And The Most Hideous Song Of This Decade Goes To Black Eye Peas for My Humps
Posted: 9/3/2006 1:20:54 PM
you know, everyonce in awhile I see this thread revived and it always surprises me that anyone actually agrees with me...

but the story continues... like a bad episode of friday the 13th, shes back.

oh my god, this new song... makes me wish jason was here in his hockey mask and everything to shove a pencil through my ears or something to make me feel less pain then I already did from the horror of the BEP song "my Humps".

no, this new song, isn't as horrible... its just really realllllllly dumb.

its the kinda dumb, where after you hear it, and see the video... you look up to the sky and say to god... "ok god, lemme have it, bring on the 4 horsemen, cause this surely must be the 7th sign of the apocalypse... I dont see how things could get any worse, so bring it on".

its called "london bridge".

now, first off, I want to say, I dont hate this girl or anything, I really dont... I have nothing against her, I just think she makes the absolute worst music on the planet.... and I would rather be deaf then hear another song from her...

so what this time?

well, it's just this ridiculous idea... of taking a event from history, and turning it into a cheap sexual innuendo.

it starts out like this...

Oh shit (oh shit)
Oh shit (oh shit)
Oh shit (oh shit)

Are you ready for this?
Oh shit (oh shit)
Ohhhhh
It’s me, Fergie
The Pimp!
Paulo!

ok, I get it... you know who you are... but pimp? really? is that what you want to call yourself now? pimp? really? are you sure? I mean... you know what a pimp is right?

ok, I can ignore the retarded intro... but the next part....

V.I.P., ‘cause you know I gotta shine.
I’m Fergie Ferg, and me love you long time

now, granted, you got stuck with a bad name, and your making the best of it... ferg... but Fergie Ferg? no... not having it. no one named bob, is calling themself bobby bob. no one named tom is calling themself tommy tom... know why?
it sounds stupid.
we know the name, really, we get it... but come on, one name... please.
dont give yourself some hideous nickname, hoping people catch on, and start calling you that.

its annoying in the same way.. when you get a step dad or something, and he's like "you can call me dad"... it doesnt work, it doesnt fit.

but the last part... "me love you long time?"

what? hold on a second... werent you a pimp a second ago? now your a asian hooker?

(vague reference to a 1980's movie, I think called platoon... where this line comes from... it went something like this....

how much?

10 dallwa... me sucky sucky... me give ooo everyting ooo wan...

everything?

everyting...

me sucky sucky, me love you long time")

ok, so if your still following me here... first she's a pimp... now shes making references to herself as a asian hooker... ok, so shes exceptionally good at degrading herself, but wait a second...

how can someone be a pimp, and ho at the same time?
kinda like the "what is the sound of one hand clapping" thing isnt it?

ok, forget it, next...

All my girls get down on the floor,
Back to back, drop it down real low.
I’m such a lady, but I’m dancing like a ho,

AAAAAhhh... one of the worst bits of rap ever... no.... just no.... your not a rapper.
come on now, dont try to be the "rapper girl", seriously madonna tried it... it was pathetic to see a yuppie white girl rapping then... its actually worse with you doing it now....
no, no... just dont.

just because you take words like "floor" and mispronounce them as "flow" doesnt mean it automatically rhymes with the word "low".
when I heard that part, I really just cringed, cause I could tell this song was gonna be really reallllllllly bad from there on in... and good ol' ferg delivers.

I suppose you want to hear about the line "I’m such a lady, but I’m dancing like a ho", cause you know... you just know I am itching to say something about it... but no.... let me get back to you on that one... cause this next part, is where the song goes from bad, to just "WTF are you thinking" land.

How come everytime you come around,
My London, London bridge, wanna go down like,
London, London, London, wanna go down like,
London, London, London, we goin’ down like…

you know, I am glad I am from america... cause if I was english, I think this part would actually offend me personally.
shes taking a childrens nursery rhyme, and one of the oldest landmarks on this planet...

the london bridge which has about a 1000 year history, for which the childerns nursery rhyme is based on, cause the bridge itself was built and destroyed many times over the centuries, from the first wood one, to the one now, that bridge has been destroyed many times over, by viking invaders, to great fires of 1100 and 1600 AD... and various other smaller fires over the centuries.
yet, the british have constantly rebuilt and maintained the bridge... and I think there would be some level of pride in that fact... that its over 1000 years old, and survived for so long with the people of englands determination to make it so...

and to have it turned into a cheap innuendo about some girl wanting to drop her pants everytime some guy comes around....

damn, what she gonna sing about next? I wanna swallow you like 9-11?

damn, whatever... ugh... glad I am not from england...

but lets get back to that sentance.

I’m such a lady, but I’m dancing like a ho

seriously, how?
how does she not see how many conflicting ideas she has in one song?
first shes a pimp? next she's a ho? now a ladyyyyyyyyy?

typically, a lady is a person of elegance, and class.
in the context of "being a lady" is a old term used for centuries to describe educated, well mannerd, mild temperd, stylish, upper class women that stood out from other women.
how such a term could be used today, I really dont know, since theres no severe division of class in society anymore, no royalty really.
rich people, are just people with alot of money now.
the idea of a "lady" in this context, doesn't really apply to todays society as we are now.

ok, so maybe I take the idea too literally, and think of how it would be used if I were say writing a book, in which I had to be accurate with my references.
so throwing accuracy aside...

lets just assume a "lady" means "class" "sophisicated" and things of this manner...

ya cant be a pimp... a ho... and a lady at the same time.
the closest you can come, is like a brothel Madame...
I think, haha...

its a sentance so damn stupid, that the complexity of arguements against such a idea, are overwhelming for many reasons... i can go on all day about it, cause its so vast in its ridiculousness, that my mind becomes boggled with the various ways this just sounds too damn dumb to believe it was actually said outloud.

on top of this... in video, she's acting like a skank, with a attitude... like a snob.
I swear I am gonna have a brain melt down, where my brain climbs out of ears and says "ok thats it, I am out of here", cause my eyes love the horror of watching such a disaster of a song get played... but my brain wants to kick my ass at the same time.

Grey goose got your girl feeling loose.
Now I’m wishin’ that I didn’t wear these shoes. (I hate heels)
It’s like everytime I get up on the dew,
Paparazzi put my business in the news.

ok, your an alcohic... ya must be, to think up crap this dumb... so I can forgive the idiocy up to this point...

but can I say one thing ferg?

since your always going up on stage... drunk... then peeing all over yourself... while your publicity agents put out a public press release, saying it's.... sweat....

I dont know whats worse... that you might be the nastiest girl on the planet, with a gross deformity where you can sweat only in your crotch... and it looks like pee...
or that your a drunk, that pees on herself on stage...

personally, I'd just admit it.. that I was a drunk and pee'd on myself.
its slightly less gross, then large amounts of sweat... only in your crotch... cause thats just a can of worms I dont even want to figure out.

(wanna see what I am talking about, go here http://www.bestweekever.tv/2005/08/01/adventures-in-trendsetting-fergies-uh-oh/ )

"ok god, lemme have it, bring on the 4 horsemen, cause this surely must be the 7th sign of the apocalypse... I dont see how things could get any worse, so bring it on".

I think your being petty.

the guys been doing that farm for what, 40-50 years?
you been there what, 2 years?

as far as I am concerned, the guys earned his pay.
leave him alone, he's probably been doing that since before you or I was born.
he's earned his time to relax abit.
afterall... if he was in perfect health like when he was 20-30 years old, and could do everything like he use to, you probably wouldnt be there with a job.
your more or less there to do, what he cant do anymore.

leave the guy alone.
be glad you have a job you like.
