February Stars Foo Fighters
Posted: 2/1/2013 8:53:58 PM
look up...the stars are amazing tonight.

I'm hanging on
here until I'm gone
I'm right where I belong
just hanging on
even though I watched you come and go
how was I to know
you'd steal the show?

one day I'll have enough to gamble
I'll wait to hear your final call
and bet it all
I'm hanging on
here until I'm gone
right where I belong
just hanging on

even though I pass this time alone
somewhere so unknown
it heals the soul
you ask for walls
I'll build them higher
we'll lie in the shadows of them all
I'd stand but they're much to tall
and I fall

february stars
floating in the dark
temporary scars
february stars

browning meat
Posted: 10/11/2012 11:41:02 AM
Funny I'm watching Ann Burrell now on Food network she's making a lamb stew.
She used a tougher cut of shoulder meat for long stew times, browning it first in a single layer(she did 2 batches)

The cut of meat and stewing time sounds like the key

What to do with green tomatoes?
Posted: 10/3/2012 10:04:14 AM
I've made the pickles in the past, they are great on cold sandwiches and the sauce is great too.

The jam and the cake sound like a great way to use the green tomatos.

What to do with green tomatoes?

Hi Moonchild51,

My MIL made a sauce of mayo, mustard and brown sugar and toppped the fried green tomatos with that sauce and browned it under the broiler just before serving.

You can always make pickled green tomatos w/ dill.
and I do recall Paula Deen made a FGT casserole, see foodnetwork for that recipe.

Summers End

Early morning without warning
Woke me with a scare
I had that dream again
That the sun was dead

Make me warm or take me home
Its so cold in here
Can't we meet somewhere
Is it winter there?
Is it winter there?
This winter

Meet me in the summertime
We can move the air
Sweet Virginia countryside
I will meet you there

Pearly lips and cherry wine
Moonshine in your hair
Just keep staring at the sun
Pray for summer's end

Come on over break my storm
Oceans over ahead
Come inside my friend
Give me night out there

Every moment we have stolen
All we have to share

No one wanted them
But you know I did
You know I did
This moment

Meet me in the summertime
We can move the air
Sweet Virginia countryside
I will meet you there

Loving lips and cherry wine
Moonshine in your hair
Just keep staring at the sun
Pray for summer's end

Meet me in the summertime
We can move the air
Sweet Virginia countryside
I will meet you there

Loving lips and cherry wine
Moonshine in your hair
Just keep staring at the sun
Pray for summer's end

Meet me in the summertime
Meet me in the summertime

Raspberry chicken, it's easy!

no, letting the crushed fruit drip between 3 layers of cheesecloth would be jelly.
according to the SureJell / Certo instructions. ;)

I follow the recipe for jam.
After crushing the berries and I have the required amount
I sieve the seeds out and proceed to the next step.
seedless raspberry jam!

How do you get confidence?
Posted: 8/2/2012 1:06:07 PM
Lots of really good advice in here for you. I hope that you will implement what you can and try even harder to use what you think you can't. Continue to search for other strategies too.

I'm not sure if someone mentioned it but a lot of 20 something girls are a little shallow, sometimes A LOT shallow. It's just the nature of that beast. Most will outgrow that in 5 to 7 seven years. So, hang in there, their maturity will change a lot. In the meantime, you've really got to get your head straight (this confidence/self esteem issue). So that when THEY are ready to take on ALL that being in a relationship with man in a wheelchair incurs YOU will be an emotionally healthy mate for them. If you don't do this work it I fear it will sabotage every future relationship you may have.

My daughter (22yo) had a relationship with a paraplegic (24yo), a wonderful young man, in many ways, a lot like you.

I think you really need to gauge a woman's interest level in you before you invest your wallet or emotions

I think if you did this your boxers won't bunch up so much.

How to ask about debt......??
Posted: 8/1/2012 11:22:30 AM
I can see from the some of the responses that the people who believe it is prudent to raise this question early on have had this issue in their previous marriages or relationships and for them I can empathize, it must have been devastating.

I feel fortunate that this has never happened to me or anyone that I know personally. So with my experience if I were on a 4 or 5 th date with someone and things were going well and he leans in and says “by the way” how much debt do you have? I will maintain my position that it is inappropriate and none of their business. You’re dating! not moving in, not getting married, not going into business together, you’re dating. I mean the OP has only seen this woman 4 times, how much fun is he to date?

<div class="quote">I am definitely not the type to rush the cart here
<div class="quote">

Yeah, you are.

And you’ve also shown us women you’re this guy too.

<div class="quote">I won't get on a soap box here, but I will point out an interesting fact. Women seem to be saying their financial position is not the mans business. But these same women demand a man have his own nice car, nice place, nice clothes in order to date him. Feels a bit hypacritical no??

MsMicki I love those too!
I see a lot of yummy things I would indulge in too in this thread.

Sometimes I buy that Marzettis Caramel sauce and Grannysmiths.
It doesnt have that chewy, gooey factor to it though.

Flying, without a second thought.
The places I'd go and the things I would see
from that vantage point.

Imagine the feel of the wind across my body.
The heat from the deserts and the frozen winds
from Antartica. I'd go everywhere my little wings would carry me.

I think we do need to teach people how to treat us.

If someone did not apologize and offer an explanation as to why they didnt call,
I would indicate, thru words or actions, that this is not something that is acceptable to me.

How to make easy peach Jam
Posted: 11/21/2011 4:13:18 PM
I use the Certo brand/freezer recipe too and I even cut waaay back on the
recomended amount of sugar. It turns out just a little thinner in consistency
but the sesonal fruit here is sooo delicious it doesn't need the extra sugar.

It's getting colder here and I love having the jams all winter long.
