@ Random.........Precise and Concise.
So they have found "love" and want to share the news with us. I say, "good for them". We are going to condemn them for finding happiness? So what if it turns out to be temporary. A respite from lonliness, however temporary, certainly would seem like a welcome feeling for anyone. Also, who cares if it is lust at first site? That closeness with someone is also a welcomed feeling. They are adults or have we forgotten? Who are we to think we can crawl inside their heads and know if it is really love? While we are searching for the "real" thing, they are out doing the "real thing". I applaud them for taking a chance with their feelings and "going for it".
Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

pre-arranged marriages!

Make no BONES about the subject, pre-arranged marriages work. Cultures that have such unions have a lower divorce rate. Yes, I have researched the matter and the stats prove that to be true.

Very well put, my man. Maybe you can send some of those extra e-mails my way. I think the ladies see my pic and are too quick to judge me. If only they could look past the outside and see me for who I really am; wonderful, educated, witty, articulate, stable, mentally and physically fit............Ace, can you write an advertisement for me, I suck at this.

This is my opinion but I could be wrong.
One set of doors was the color of honey
One set of doors was pink and grey
Well I wonder which set is mine, said she
As she walked down the long hallway
Well I wonder which set of rooms are mine
For in these rooms she would live and die
Well it's better to have loved and lost
(Ah but it's better not to lose)
Than to never have loved at all
Never have loved, never have loved at all
Well it's better to have loved and lost
(Ah but it's better not to lose)
Than to always be alone
Always be alone
In your heart
I thought that there was more involved
Through all that time and all these
months
I stopped many times to question you
Well I told you that it was the right
thing to do
Well it's better to have loved and lost
(Ah but it's better not to lose)
Than to never have loved at all
Never have loved, never have loved at all
This is just my opinion, I could be wrong.
Yes it's better to have loved and lost
(Ah but it's better not to lose)
Than to always be alone
Always be alone
In your heart
But I knew that this was just for now
And the time would take its toll upon
us all
Well it would break our hearts
Tear it apart
But no one understood
The affairs of the heart
Well it's better to have loved and lost
Than to never have loved at all
Never have loved, never have loved at all
Well it'll break your heart, tear it apart
But no one understands
No one understands
The affairs of the heart

Take a look at my profile and tell me whats wrong with it
Posted:
8/13/2005 1:10:59 AM
Below is a sample of the most common response I receive from the ladies. I am in an honorable profession and work hard to serve my fellow mankind. Should I lie about my career when asked? I spent several years in college to learn my craft, which, allows me to earn a nice income. Please do not judge someone for the lack of a "great profile" as it is just a minute scope of what the person most likely is all about. Pictures, no pictures. Humor, no humor. Mention career, do not mention career. Make up your minds. So I work with dead people. Big Fuc*ing deal. It is a job, nothing more.
Please peruse my profile and offer advice as i am open to suggestions. For those who are going to slam me.....In advance, Fu*k off.
Gotta' say Stephen,
Your occupation creeps me out. I know somebodies got to do it... but not my man. I want to be with a artist, organic farmer, builder of solar homes...you embalm.
When my Mom died we decided not to embalm her. Cremation without draining her body fluids and filling her with formulin. I might be way off track with this, but still creepy choice of jobs in my opinion. Seeing dead people daily from such an anatomical viewpoint has to bend your brain to some degree. I'm around dead animals almost every day and I see dead dogs from time to time, so I understand a bent brain more then most.
It's a proven fact that men don't really put much thought into what a woman does for a living. But I can tell you, women care! Stephen, I'm sure your a fine fella', but...
I'v been mushroom huntin' without a Field Guide before. But this time I know what I'm looking for.

@ HG
Be prepared for the usual barrage of one liner's, analyzing you over the net, with their purchased over the wire, learn at their own pace, therepy license, that, you're depressed, give it time, you are young, be patiant. The real fact is, you have only put into eloquent content, what it seems that, most of us are feeling. There!! Now they can ridicule the two of us at once, inform us to get a life, and mention they now know why, "we are such losers". With such demands we place on one another, and expectations well beyond what any one human can reasonably deliver, it would make perfect sense to make polgymy NOT against the law. Just think, four husbands and or wifes, that we can pick and choose the qualities from each, to find that missing aspect of our life, we so desire. One for the "attraction", one for "sex", one for "intellect", one for "soulmates" Well, i am way rambling, really had nothing better to do at 4:30 in the morning. Oh, let me guess? I should try getting a life. Ok. I shall try. I tried. Didn't work.
HG- I hope you were not f**ked up when you wrote that.

Dumped online
Posted:
8/7/2005 7:35:00 PM
"Dumped" him. Balls out. Maybe you were not rude, but, the structure of your sentences kinda' indicate you were not polite about the situation. It seems (I could be wrong) that most of us, here, at POF, have had hurt in our past relationships. We are looking for someone, that we can gel with, that will make sure history will not repeat. Did anyone really have to encourage you to be kind? Not only does "what goes around come around" ,but, it happens according to the ten fold rule. Train your mind to ALWAYS be kind no matter what. Shogi Effendi would have told you to, "take counsel in private lest you make a mountain out of a mole hill".
Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Let your supervisor handle the situation. Stay clear, lest you make a mountain out of a molehill. So she is an inadaquate employee. Is that really your business? Do you own the company? Time is vain and fleeting, she will soon be gone, and you will have stayed out of the backbiting. At that point, you will have no reason to apologise, nor feel guilty, for any actions on your part.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I have had several people tell me my profession is so wierd, they suggested, I omit it from my profile, if I ever expect to receive responses. I personally think I am in an honorable profession, and I am not only a master of my craft, I thank, God, for the opportunity to serve my fellow mankind, in the manner I serve.

How soon before you think you should meet someone from POF?
Posted:
7/28/2005 2:36:06 AM
After reading the posts, I have to agree with Mercutio. I joined to meet face to face, to date. What is the big deal just meeting and being done with that part, which, to me is the most difficult aspect of finding someone. A true POF story. Blind date. I was told she had the face of an angel, 5'5", 140#. Picked her up, she was well-groomed, but not really my type of angelic, was 5'5", but closer to 220#, not really my body type. Honestly, we had a great time at the Bob Dylan concert, she treated me as if I was the only man in the areana, danced with me all night, I in turn treated her as if she was the only female in the stadium. I felt even though she misled me, I still owed the attributes of a gentleman. I chose not to see her again, but, I would have hated to invest several weeks of either of our time to come to the same conclusion. On the other hand, what if it would have worked? Think of the time lost NOT being together. I am rambling. I apologise. Blame it on Mercutio, he stole my words.

Would you date a man who lost everything?
Posted:
7/26/2005 7:08:39 PM
This is a changeful life, material things come and go. i would live in a cardboard box with the person I loved. Being a mortician, I can tell you I have never seen anyone leave this world with a house, car, boat, ect.........Besides, if he had stuff to lose, then obviously he had the spirit and wisdom to attain things. If so, he will rebound, gain new goodies. Personally, I would rather have true love and hot passionate physical relations, then, to have a nice house with no love. Of course, this is coming from someone who has been poor most of his life. By the way, I have only been on this site for a little while, but, I want to tell everyone I have met a lady (not in person, yet) that I am starting to think I like. By that I mean, I am starting to appreciate the personality behind her words. we write on a somewhat regular basis, have talked on the phone a few times, and, have talked very intimately with each other. I just found out she is what I would call "WELL TO DO" financially. I am now a bit afraid, because, I never thought about coming on this site and "looking" for material gain. The other side of the "would you date someone starting over" coin, is, would you date someone who has a healthy bank account? I just am attracted to this woman for who she seems to be, not her bank account. Does this rambling make sense? Probably not.

I am not caving to the notion, that, some people are meant to be alone. I have the remedy. I am securing one of those mail order brides. Hey, Spoiled, why don't you order a mail order groom, and, maybe we can get a good rate on the shipping if they are delivered together. Forget it!! Just our luck, they will fall in love on the way over and we will be alone regardless. That would be my(our) luck, huh?(smile)

i have met one in person, and, one on the phone. i am finding most of the date sites to be a bunch of bullsh..i have a lot to offer and can not entice even one person to respond? Whatever!! I have also noticed that the same people over and over are the ones on line, which, indicates they are game playing or they would have found someone by now. Anyhow, if, by chance, someone out there wants to meet a good man, I am still "searching"
