well i am closer to 5'11" than 5'10".... and my ex was 5'6". what he lacked on height he made up for in shortness. lol (ok bad OLD joke!) actually we were/are great friends, sometimes friends shouldnt marry, and now that i am single at 48.. this time i am looking for what i lust for. a TALLLLLL man!

smiles thank you , youre right, putting that huge GRRRRRRRRRR at the begining of my profile wasnt helping me at all! in my defence, it was new, posted in the last 48 hrs. but still... i moved it to the end ( sadly in the 'first date' section, but it seemed 'ok' there.) i tryed to learn to type like MOST people talk instead of how I TALK! ( i always talk with little 'sidebars', makes people crazy but its me!)ok i wasnt very sucessful, but i tryed! and hey, i even tryed to add some spaces ( i had a KB w/ a bad space bar and i think it made me 'space' lazy! i have had trouble 'spacing' ever since) anyways, thank you, take a gander again when you can and see if its a bit more suitable. ~blueapril~

true, people steal pics and post them as their own... but if you are serious abt meeting someone on here, you dont do that. and if you arent serious , and are just playing cybergames with others, the pic you post (or dont)is irrevelant. youre not worth anyones time, and hopefully that become obvious well before your unsuspecting 'victim' gets too attached to the lies. and i agree... once youre ready to meet... a picture is required.

good luck Jim... .. at least you wont be one of those guys that emails emails emails and never makes the next move! a game plan is a nice thing to have...toss out that number and offer to call,.... add in candidsecret's idea of asking abt a meet, and your odds improve even more. tho i have to agree your chosen screen name may be a tough 'sell'.

BALANCE! you hit that one right on the head. while i DO make it a bit easier for the 'shy' ones to take that next step by suggesting a call or whatever... if that doesnt do it, if at that point there is still no 'balance'.. no 'equaling out'... well what can i say but .... thats a very good point, friendlyface. but some people are honestly shy, and need a bit of a push sometimes! and what better way to 'push' the convo into gear than to just out and out ask...' are you interested in continuing?' sometimes that means i recomend the phone, IM or whatever...as opposed to waiting on him to suggest the same.., or assuming disinterest.

there seem to be alot of negative replys to this post, most which imply if a person doesnt write long detailed responses they arent interested. i find that to be untrue. some people simply do not take well to the exchange of emails. yet in person they are fine, well versed humans. why judge a book from its jacket story? if you arent willing to open the book, to ask the person how they honestly feel, and then to follow thru( be it to thank them and move on or smile and inquire abt the next step in getting to know them) then why even be on a dating site? does everyone online expect everyone else online to respond as they would? give people a chance, and ASK. to assume...well iam sure you know what that makes you.

i post pictures of myself because i am me. i dont feel the need to hide on or offline. (and yes i live in a small town. lifes too short to be scared.) and yes, i have responded to emails from both 'pic posters' and 'non-pic posters'. what you do is up to you. but i will admit without a picture posted, i do wonder if you are sincere or possibly have a wife or gf hiding someplace with that pic you didnt post.

why is it 'screwed up' to desire to date someone younger than yourself? or older? arent we all individuals who have different wants and desires? personally i date within the '10-10' rule. 10 yrs over or under... though i usually prefer the 'same age or older' group! and yes, i have 'broken' that 'rule' for some people... a few either side of the 'limits', but found for other reasons those relationships didnt survive.still i cant see why anyone would whine because people find you interesting and desirable. why say they are 'screwed up'?? isnt that attitude rather... SCREWED UP???? lol as for the question 'have you been tempted to lie abt your age?' NO... i will be 48 in less than a week, and have no reason to lie! i dont care if you think i look old or young or whatever... i love myself and my age and know that is worth much much more than anyone elses approval.

ok ok... i see why people are voting to stop this thread, however it is a common issue within the online dating arena. often you spend time thinking out what you wish to say, asking questions you hope will intice more indepth replys, only to get short responses. that makes you wonder if you are wasting your time , if the person has become jaded and simply isnt open to responding in a more casual and open way... or if its just who they are. how do you know? you dont. best you can do is ask... ' i find your emails short and uninspired... are you truely interested or shall i move on?' ... everyone is different, unique, just like everyone else! ask or you may never know.

smiles yeah , i have my shirt open... yes, it gets me attention, yes... you see more on any beach. why do i post that pic? because i like it. i happen to love me. and i am 46, so i figure i may as well enjoy showing off a bit now. lol why do i complain abt married men contacting me? i dont. i complain that they arent honest that they ARE married. i am a VERY open (hehehee.. yeahyeah) and honest person. i wont lie to you, i am worth more to myself than to do that. it has nothing to do w/ cleavage or any other physical thing.. it has to do w/ being true. my personal motto is "i am nothing if not honest". the men i have met here so far have for the most part been polite gentlemen, i have made a few good and interesting friends, and will see how things work out as time goes on. the 2 married men who had lied on profile, once they got to know me, admitted they had lied, and i believe were sorry they had done so. one changed his profile to read correctly that he IS in fact married.(we are still friends tho that is and willbe the extent of it). the other seems to have left pof. life is short indeed, be true to yourself and to others and have fun.

i do not eat jello.. i read long ago how the people that live near the jello plant wont eat it. that was enough for me.(they spoke of trucks of dead animals driving into town...ewwww) food is food,soup is great, but meat ( hide hooves and cartilige) shouldnt be fruit flavoured! lol course i dont eat at mcds, or any other 'fast' food place; i like foods i can identify;and i dont drink alcohol or sodas. maybe i am just weird.
