Very long hair on a woman is very femine and sexy, but few women have long hair

I dunno. I just like my hair long. I'm past that "certain age" when women are dutifully supposed to cut their hair because it is no longer attractive to have it long. I disagree. I've had it long and I've had it short and I prefer it long. Short, wavy hair can be a total pain. In the summer I wear it up to be cool. In the winter I wear it down more. I french braid it when I want it out of the way...or pony tail...or bun...or french roll...there's just so many ways to wear it and many of them are lovely and elegant and I think well suited to a mature woman.
I love it that we are in a time of the world where people are not so concerned about the conventional wisdom and do what feels right for them. And I don't just mean hair.

Sexy voices.......... what type turns you on?

My...uh..."gentleman friend" is a radio guy. He does a morning drive show and also is the play-by-play guy for the local sports broadcasts. He has the most fabulous voice, not one of those awful vampire radio voices, but a lovely, well-modulated normal speaking voice. What makes his voice so fabulous though is his control over the inflection. He can get just the exact, subtle shade of meaning into what he says that just makes me want to howl at the moon. He also sings Barry White to me which is very hot. I love voices and mouths. His mouth is also very sexy. Life is good.

Women lose their looks? I'm 56. I've earned every bit of it. But I think I'm an attractive 56. So,

Ear tonguing...why do men think women like it?

I HATED it. Then my lover started doing it to me just to see the goosebumps raise all over my body...he thought it was cute and funny, I guess. Long story short...after a while I started liking it. It's still kind of gross and repulsive, but it makes me tingle. Go figure.

Girls smell like happy :)

I love the way people smell. I like sandalwood fragrances too. Almost all the ones I choose have a sandalwood bottom.
My favorite right now is not a perfume at all, but a bronzer. It's called "Bronze Bondage" by Designer Skin. It is the most amazing smell...and it wears close to the body so you can only smell it when you are close to me. It makes the smell much more intimate. I also like Angel by Thierry Muegler. It's one of those scents that you either hate or love. It's an old one, but good.
I love men to smell natural though. I like their plain old man scent. Some men just smell really, really good. I don't like fragrance on men unless it's very, very light and subtle.

Babylonia...
Thank you so much for your kind response. My deepest apologies for not getting back to it sooner. Ten months...must be some kind of record! I remember being touched by it at the time and am still touched by it today. I was in a very dark and closed in place then. Struggling to make sense.
You are right about rejection. It hurts our sense of the loveable person we envision ourselves to be...how could someone NOT want that!
Life does go on. There is a wonderful man in my life. Not a permanent relationship, but an amazingly good transitional one.
Again, thanks for the kind words!

The big O while sleeping

I have them regularly. I would be so loud and move around so much I'd wake my husband up and he'd get mad (play mad) at me for having sex without him. He'd ask me what I was dreaming about and then well...you know.
It doesn't seem to have anything to do with sexual frustration or a lack of sex for me though. It's just something I do.

I have three dogs and a cat...and they all have the complete run of the house. I love them and take care of them and they return the favor. I just assume that people will love them. It IS surely a case of "love me, love my dog hair!" Because with three shedders, it's everywhere.

Can an affair strenghten a marriage
Posted:

I guess I just feel that once you begin to look outside the marriage to solve problems in the marriage, there is no longer a marriage there. Marriage is about intimacy and trust...and it is exclusive. In my experience, marriage changes from year to year. I was married for 26 years to a wonderful man. The marriage we had in year 10 was much different than the marriage in year one which was different than the marriage we had the last year of his life. Fidelity provides the arena in which you work out the transitions and changes in your life together. When one person goes outside that arena, the likelyhood of a change is reduced, I believe.

Why cant a nice guy get a break!!!!!
Posted:
8/20/2005 10:01:03 AM
Why can't a nice guy get a break? Because you choose with your eyes and uhhh....ummm....ahhhh...hmmmmm....well....dick. There are thousands of nice girls out there, but most of you seem to want to chase the same ones.
I am an older woman, not obese, but not slim. I have looked at hundreds of profiles where the man seemed to be looking for a person like me. He says he wants all these lovely psychological and emotional qualities in the essay and then he may not fill out any other characteristic in the "my match" category but you can bet your sweet life he will say, "slender, atheltic and toned and average build. I won't make contact with a man like that; no sense courting rejection. A woman of vast affection and wisdom may not be encased in a perfect size 6. As long as the six is your first cut, you will be missing a lot of beautiful women and competing will lots of other men for a woman who may or may not deserve a nice guy.
Just my two cents, ymmv.

Dating a country man
Posted:
8/20/2005 7:20:59 AM
I live in a small farming community, so I'm more likely to meet a country man now than I was when I lived in San Diego! I like the down-to-earth quality of people who work so close to the land.
My dad farmed part of my childhood and worked for Caterpillar for part of my childhood so I've lived in both the city and the country. Both have their charms.

Would a man in his 40s marry a woman in her 50s?
Posted:

I would date a younger man, but he would have to make the first move. As to whether a younger man would date me, I don't know. But I would sure be willing to find out!
I'm pretty vivacious and it seems to me that some of the men my age are just really OLD and worn out! Some of them aren't. I think it has more to do with the person than the age. I haven't quite figured out how I got to be this old so quickly!

Young Widows/Widowers
Posted:
8/20/2005 7:03:50 AM
I have been widowed for eight months. My husband and I talked a lot about how my life would be after he was gone. He wanted me to date and have companionship and love in my life. He told me he didn't want me to "sit on a shelf." He was sick for a very long time so I had already gone through many of the stages of grief before he died. I know it was surprising to some of the people in my family (particularly his family) when I showed an interest in dating so quickly, about 5 months, after he died.
I have had a couple of dates, not anybody really special, but I'm looking! I am 55, and I think that's still pretty young.
One of the things that has helped me a good bit was something I read by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross. She said, "If it was a part of your life, it will be a part of your grieving. The more important it was to your life, the more important it will be in your grieving." My husband and I had a very close relationship. It was very important and I miss it. So it makes sense that I am looking for companionship. I don't expect a new person to be like my dear husband. I don't even want it. Every person is unique and I hope to find someone good but different. Actually, right now I don't even really care to find ONE person. I just want to have fun. Whether that's with one person or a number of folks, I'm still not sure.

Not exactly. But I regularly have orgasmic dreams. From time to time my husband would awaken me saying, "You've done it without me again!"

Check your spelling. I noticed a couple of misspelled words. The pictures are great, but the text is pretty sparse. You're a cutie pie. If I were still living in Tuscaloosa, I could consider stalking you.

what do you just love about the opposite sex that is not sexual

This is the sweetest thread! I have read every word and it makes me feel all warm and happy.
I love men...I love everything about them...
I love that they want to protect us even when we don't need it.
I love the way they smell.
I love the way they open up to women in ways they never open up to their buddies.
I love that they like to take care of us.
I love it that they will get up and investigate that noise in the yard at 3 in the morning.
I love to take care of him when he's sick...and what a baby he becomes! And I love that too.
Men...gotta love 'em.
Oh, by the way...how do you get an icon on your posts?

What is it that we fear?????????

Kuddle...don't fear death. In October, my mother died holding my hand. I orchestrated the order that allowed her to die peacefully. In December, my husband died in my arms. I ovingly cared for him on his long road to death. Instead you should fear not living fully while you are alive. Embrace life and when it comes, embrace death.
What I fear is that there will never be another man lying between my...well, I just fear there will never be another man. Another one who knows that special little whimper...knows the significance of the tiny sigh or the sliding of my tongue across my lips... Whew...I'd better quit this. I fear that I will only live half the life I have left. And that would be a shame.
