How should I approach this?
Posted: 5/7/2011 12:02:56 PM
Shes insecure and jealous that you are confident, so to knock you down makes her feel good...
a good friend would ditch their bf and know where the loyalties lie.... i know i would > why would I want a friend who hurts me through words ? Id rather have none...

could 'baby P' have been saved..?
Posted: 6/15/2010 3:46:40 PM
Of course baby p could have been saved. Just because this person has a title of doctor instead of social worker should not save hhis grace. He/she had an equal part in duty to keeping that child safe and failed. He/ she should consider themselves lucky to be a shit GP instead of social worker........

that was a bit harsh really in the social workers defense.....
they now have to do extensive work placement in 6month blocks before they qualify.. not after they qualify ... its not just a sit at your uni and get the title.(maybe longer serving ones before when it was a diploma, a teacher could 'just become a social worker' now you have to do a degree in social work instead of diploma )
I agree that some arent in it for the caring..... although alot are, but hands are tied to desks instead of people.
In my experience, i believe its the paper work (that incidently has to be completed within 7days and those who saw the programme saw the 100+ sheets to fill out) that stops social workers doing the job they are supposed to and thats all because of the Victoria Climbie case where now you have to safeguard EVERYTHING just to cover your own arses in case it goes wrong....

Thank god I dont work for Surrey council...This is my job ! We work closely with social workers in our council and are not expected to do the stuff Surrey had to do. We do alot of the 'practical' work of social workers, we have to do assessments,we have dead lines to meet and Yes, we are short staffed, social workers under pressure etc and its frustrating when we cant get to a family immediately- but if we cant we call the social worker and they go if we have immediate concerns with police back up.
We do welfare checks over the weekends at social workers request- ie the boy who left care and wanted to 'run' . If we cant gain access, the police are asked to do a visit.
The programme, as intended , made the department look very bad- thats a bad council running. Not all can be tarred with the same brush.
I adore my job, im in awe of my own job and get tremendous job satisfaction. The families we meet and help, the kids that we help to safeguard and remove from harm, the child protection cases that are actually protected children,
i think there may be some heads rolling in Surrey and rightly so.

Ex-wife receives large lump sum nearly 30 years after divorce
Posted: 4/3/2010 3:32:00 PM
first thoughts....good for her !! I got naff all in a divorce settlement... dont even know how it works... and if he was loaded now, id still get naff all cos i wouldnt even bother !!
I did ask ex for a raise in maintence from £20 to £30 a week.. he said fook off :-S
second thoughts..in fairness to the bloke... he shouldnt expect to pay more years later unless her income was blighted by an affair. and thats why they split.... (which is also working on the era of male keeping female and family) thats also presuming of course that she could prove she'd stay with him for ever... which these days.. who can ?
so yeah , life can be shyte... deal with it, he left you, divorced, too shit if he wins the lottery in the mean time ? whats done is done... your not married /co habiting- should erase the settlement from the day you seperated....

Mum And Baby Parking
Posted: 3/25/2010 5:10:25 PM
you can actually be penalised in my sainsbury's !! It says if you dont have a young child you'll be fined £25..
I only park there at 6.30pm when they should be in bed anyway.. I do have a young child and a toddler car seat (minus child most of the time) if its raining, i do occasionally park there knowing my child is above a toddler... !! if anyone stopped me i'd say 'ohh my husbands gone on ahead , with child'. this is my oldest... do you have an age limit ?? ... When ever I DO have a toddler, the spaces are filled anyway with some people pretending.. so i think , if you cant win, go with the flow....
i think id think 'Hummph.. your only pregnant and glare at missing toddler though lol.. so that makes me as bad as rest of the decietfuls lol
my friend on several occasions has been challenged in mother n child spaces... she says 'but this is my mother and im her child' even though she 39.. and h er mums 70 !

Ideology of relationships
Posted: 3/25/2010 4:35:09 PM
as if a victorian would see this site.. it wasnt invented then so it doesnt matter.. their opinion doesnt count because its a what if not a what was...
times change.. so do morals and values as now is modern UK.
ideologies are also a progression.. it was an idea.. but put an ology on the end makes it sound like its important.
so what you asking ? when was it ok to ask for a husband butdecide for the female to have a partner instead ? .. ( to me no different )
or for the view to change from male to female...
ie... find a husband to have my family. To me, means we have to find a suitable male , worthy husband because its expected from history ,women sucumb to male .. or the woman thinking no hang on who is suitable for me.. to find the worthy male ? Cos guess what , i dont care who changed history but now I have as much right as a male to state what I want ?
I blame the suffrogets, they started it to allow woman to have a say !!!

Has the 'credit crunch' been started deliberately?
Posted: 2/14/2009 2:20:56 PM
It only came to our attention when Iceland bank went down who our ‘wonderful’ government had invested in… and most of our local councils invested in.. !!!
WHY ???
Pure greed…
They could have used that wasted money on NHS, cancer cures etc etc etc… instead they say ‘oops’ I know lets say sorry by bailing out our banks… that will look good.. only most public forget our government contributed to it all !!!! GRRRRRRRRRR
So thats the coverup... take away how it started.... divert the attention everyone / every countries fault but our own.
We dont have a choice but to sit back and watch unless we are fortunate enough to pass a back hander... apart from vote and every party has its down side .. what are we supposed to do.. start a revolution ??

Has the 'credit crunch' been started deliberately?
Posted: 2/14/2009 2:01:15 PM
how did the country get in this mess?
my dad says its those greedy american bastarads !!!
I personally do believe the greed of the stock market triggered it..... but then moral panic took over and its now having a knock on effect that MAY just have survived if the media had not bought it to public knowledge.... so yes... if a cover up ... which usually moral panics are... what they covering up ??? Hmmmm????

Most Miserable Day Of The Year
Posted: 2/14/2009 11:58:17 AM
Today is just another day... im happy, i have my family ..my health fingers crossed so far this yr.. along with their love... what else could i possibly need ?
Its valentines day oh yeah... but im single so has no significance... even if i wasnt it still wouldnt but i would sulk if i didnt get a bunch of flowers...and im sure scientist's/proffesors said 12th Jan was the worse day before ???
Ok.. so in a scientist's day.. every day will have an unlucky formula.. thank god i live in a normal world where i dont have to worry about formula.. i could never do maths at the best of times and like i said to my tutor who cares if x=y pie squared.. its hardly likely ill need it in the future :-) so finger up to scientists.. i dont give a shyte ..
it will soon be spring... did you know if you x3 by 7inch squared you get a daffodil ?? No i didnt either !!!

Absent fathers To Lose Passports & Driving Licences !!
Posted: 1/25/2009 3:04:13 PM
Ive actually had success with CSA was all sorted within 7 weeks, they now take payments straight from his payroll...
the only down side was wrong details in my account so the money was laying dormant for 3 mths.
but he did put up a fight and appeal each time so im suprised he didnt just quit his job to not pay.
Then again, revenge for him was sweet... damaging my car weekly for 10weeks most extra money went on repairs not to provide for his son , which was his aim....saddo !!
losing his passport or license to him would be a triumph , like someone else said.. no car, no job, so cant possibly pay !

Why Are Older People Thankfull They Will Not See The Future..
Posted: 1/12/2009 2:13:06 PM
i just think now as a nation we are too greedy.. we want more than yesterday an even more in ten yrs if not 50 yrs time .. sign of the times now eh ?
I sit and think 'yes, im thankful for what i have 'but think of what else i could have tommorrow if i pushed myself harder, not sure if that right or wrong.. if i saw the future it would be for my success, not for for settling for what is expected, ie married 2.4 children and ruby/silver/golden wedding anniversary that maybe 50 years ago people would have been happy to expect as the future, not ambition or drive to gain even more in todays society.
50 years ago modern society would be scary... a future of unknown... today its like woohoo the future,, bring it on !!!

The shame of the unmarried mum
Posted: 1/9/2009 3:28:32 PM
you dont have to be married for it NOT to even be an accident. Does that put them in the same category ?
What if a guy sleeps with a girl , they arent married but want a child , years later the relationship doesnt work out ? Fathers doing not the mothers ? He bails out at first sign of not coping with commitment and a family to support...
Are they still the stigmatised unmarried single mother ? (yes , unfortunately they are ! )
To me, people see unmarried single mums as 'oo ill get a council house, ill claim benefits if i have a child'.
Im an un married single mother. I never married my childs father (THANK FOOK) . I dont claim benefits, I have a morgage and work full time, father doesnt contribute, yet im still an 'unmarried single mother' in the eyes of the stereotyping jo public...
Really pisses me off to be categorised to be honest !!

trimming your waist size
Posted: 12/1/2008 2:57:43 PM
are we talking muffin tops then ??
I decided tonight .. im me... take it or leave it.. im happy as i am... as for the health risk... My town is ranked 5 out of the country for binge drinking... Hmmmm.... i dont binge drink... but geologically im more at risk for drinking and harming my health than obese.. ???
fook it.. might get knocked over by a bus tomo.. if your happy, thats what life is about not whether your considered 'obese' cos the size of your waist !
Gluttony... greed...illness... tablets.... some people just cant be perfect to conform to the government guidelines... god forbid
If we were all so perfect we wouldnt need these gidelines would we... but i certainly dont take them to heart about whether im healthy or not.. me happy is healthy and not worrying whether i fit into the expected norm... if in doubt do yoga or belly dancing

Bad Neighbours - Who would you slap an ASBO on and WHY?
Posted: 11/24/2008 3:46:50 PM
cos slapping an asbo on them does what exactly ?? It doesnt solve the problem... just gives a label . MY neighbours are from hell, Id love them to get an asbo, but it wouldnt achieve anything,, it just moves the problem somewhere else if they are evicted..
After my extensive career so far involving the police and youth justice and whatever... that solves bog all.. my next solution unfortunately for them is get a bloody gun !!!! so I change my career... i cant justify asbo's anymore , or the what works policy cos its a joke !!! It said to be 'what works matters ie asbo's.. now it's nothing works so quit while your ahead '
better still emigrate... at least the pays better :)

Stop using sex as a weapon?
Posted: 11/4/2008 2:45:12 PM
the only way I'd use sex as a weapon would be ... oh i cant say actually, id get the wrong kind of emails... Hmmm....
Online dating has been and always will be free prostitution.... maybe get 1% (lets make that 4% for forum users purposes )that are genuine and actually want a conversation... if your lucky may even want to get to know you... good god forbid actually try a relationship ?
mostly its married men.. fancy a shag... single men wanting no commitment... fancy a shag... or those who say 'hi'' what you doing tonight... fancy a shag ??? !!!
and thats sex used as a weapon ?? nahhh sex used in desperation !

Shock Report: 80% of online dating profiles are falsified
Posted: 10/29/2008 3:21:32 PM
Maybe, but highly unlikely. How often has any of us had a picture taken by a stranger in the street?
a few yrs ago a wallet of photos had been handed in at where i worked... so not being nosy i had a look and my daughter was in 3 !!! She had been in a club day parade so i suppose it was expected , but the chances of me seeing her in a strangers pic must be a zillion to 1 or something ? Hence i took them out
as for this thread, i just randomly scrolled and really have no idea what your all taking about cos i dont think its about the title ??

Cancer

i personally think everyone has a 'hidden' cancer of some sort... some are lucky enough to never know and be oblivious, others are diagnosed early and are unlucky to find out... but possibly be cured.
'cancer' is just a word,. it (to me ) is like 'flu'; means deal with it, you have found out you have it, so let it stop your life or pretend you never found out... ??
In June i was diagnosed with a rare cancer, I can pretend I dont know or deal with it.
For now, i go to appointments ,have treatment and in my mind think i dont have it... I just deal with it....either way, it gets you or it doesnt.. Id prefer to think I dont have it and live as i was. At least Im not wallowing in self pity and wasting the time through negative thoughts and trauma.
Each person acts differently... but thats how i react.
B ut .. in reply tothe op... i think cancer now is more common , more acceptable , therefore more publishised , so more people are not afraid of saying.. 'yes actually , i have it too ' which would imply a more common outbreak of cancer....

Would you help a lost child?

I must say when a lone policeman arrived for my 'lost'children i was suprised... but then i heard him cancel the female patrol because i was female and had my daughter also.. so yes... I quite understand that too afx it is easier for a female than a male.. which is also quite sad... a male should be treated no differently to a female.. but sadly they are.. even police.
unfortunately tara.. thats how society see it... no male would be sent alone to a female/child situation... just to cover their own backs on how society can turn these days.. and it is totally wrong...
