Bush-1650 Days in Office,325 Days Vacation
Posted: 8/12/2005 10:27:03 AM
"Folks, I lied to you, I screwed up deciding to invade Iraq, I'm sorry and I'll try and listen more and strut less.

Saddam Hussein was a terrorist. Someone provide info that he wasnt, which you cant. You may not think it was right, but it was the correct thing to do...much more important

I shouldn't have said Mission Accomplished when I knew it was far from over

Could have phrased this better. Capturing Saddam (we should have killed him, but the media was up our asses when we found him.) was part of it. Getting a government up and running is another. Will we be able to take out all insurgents...no. The nations of the freeworld will have to work together in order to take control of that type of situation.

I should have listened to my top generals when they said we'd need at least 250,000 troops to do Iraq properly

I dont see what good this would have done. Its not like insurgents carry big signs that say "HEY, I'M A SUICIDE BOMBER"

I will fire Karl Rove as I said I would if he was found to be INVOLVED with the Valerie Plame leak.

I agree

I will make sure my Defense Secretary personally signs each and every letter to the family members of those soldiers killed in Iraq.

Agreed

I will keep focused on solving the matters in the Middle East and forego matters like steroids in baseball and Terri Schiavo

Then people would have a problem that he's only concerned with foreign issues, and not domestic ones too. Although if you can gather the house and senate ON A WEEKEND to decide if someone who's been a vegatable for 10yrs should live or not, other issues should be able to move along just as quickly.

I will balance the budget and secure our borders. I'll get to the bottom of where all this money that is missing in Iraq.

During time of conflict, a balanced budget is damn near impossible. Hells yes secure our borders. About the missing money. We wont find out for another 20yrs

I'll see that****Cheney doesn't get one penny from his association with Haliburton since he's been VPOTUS. I'll make sure Ken Lay is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Chaney doesnt need it, greed is a terrible disease that will grab hold of anyone it can. Its part of who we are, and it has been for thousands of years. F*ck Ken Lay, he should have done everyone a favor, and hung himself with the other dude.

I'll go and salute the coffins that arrive regardless of what time of day. I'll hold a bimonthly news conference and honestly answer questions from the White House Press Corps.

Again this would be great, but its not feasible, ALL the time. No, keep the media out, our biggest problem is the media. We are at war, we are on a need to know basis. When the Commander In Chief decides we need to know something let him decide when and how to tell us.

I'll make sure we get to the bottom of all the facts surrounding 911. I will accept Rumsfeld's resignation because he fuked up in Iraq

Hence the 911 Commission...farce...fabrication... pile of donkey dung, its all the same. Once again maybe in 20 years we'll find out. As for Rumsfeld, I wouldnt.

I'll reprimand my VP for cursing on the floor of the US Senate. I'll think twice before sending Israel twice the money of the Federal education budget. I'll never allow any troops under my command to torture a POW. I'll make sure each and every citizen of this country is allowed protection under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I'll start initiatives that will develop alternataive energies so all the Middle East is good for is sand and camels.

I'll pat my VP on the back for cursing at some azzhole on the Senate floor. The money COULD help our education budget, but no one cares(teachers, students, parents...not all of them but most of them). Teachers want more money(understandable) students are there to kill time between weekends, and most parents let the TV take care of what our children know and learn. Torturing of POWs, these people are willing to blow themselves up to kill anyone...the only way you can torture them is to humiliate them. I guess it beats having head your chopped off with a dull machette. Every citizen should be protected, unless they declare Marshall Law. In which case we have some serious issues on our hands. Alternative fuels are a go. I would like to see hydrogen power as a standard myself.

Capital Punishment~ for or against?

eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, very nice.

If you steal, you lose a hand. If you kill, you die. If you rape, you lose your twig and berries.

If you commited a crime punishable by death, I am very much in favor of public hangings AND public stonings.

Man dies after 50 hours of video games.
Posted: 8/12/2005 5:40:59 AM

and recently some kid re-enacted a scene DIRECTLY from that game and killed 2 or 3 cops while in a police station.

Had the parents looked at the cover of this game and said "Hey, this has a MATURE rating on it. Maybe we should get little Johnny a game thats not so violent." Two or three cops would still be alive.

I enjoy games like this. But I am mature enough to know that I cant go out and run people down, or kill cops, or beat the crack out of the hookers around here. Kids cant make that decision, hence the M rating.

If scool-aged kids can get heroin, Im sure they'll find video games on the black market.

Question: do you really think the Bush administration is trying to keep peace?

Do you really think the US doesn't build up regimes like saddam, noriega and hitler just so they have an excuse to go to war and take over national economies while they make the defense corporations rich later?

I believe this game is called chess. It seems that ANYONE who has any type of power wants to play too. Russia, China, North Korea, UK, Japan, India, Germany etc..

One of the issues involved here is that Bush, in a time of "war" no less, has taken more vacation than any other president in history. Is this the correct course of action in a time of crisis?

I think it would be safer to say that Bush has spent less time in the White House, then any other president in history. Not a bad idea considering the pentagon was hit by a 747, and who knows where that other plane wouldve gone.

Spanish Set to Become Official Language of Seven Denver Public Library Branches
Posted: 8/10/2005 11:30:20 AM
Thats a pile of poop, Im glad I dont live in Denver. Nothing wrong with speaking Spanish, in fact I took it in school...as a second language, but thats not cool. The official language in this country is English. You dont see everyone bending over to put up Japanese, Portugese, or Gaelic Librarys. If the Spanish speaking folk want a library with just Spanish material in it...fine, but raise the money themselves to build it.

No. I figure with all the ****ing going on around here, someones gonna have to stay back and PROTECT this land. Cause we all know its only a matter of time before this war boils over into this country as it has in the mid east. Cops are only gonna be able to do so much on their own. Its a joint effort. Some go there, some stay here, everyone else who complains hides. Bill of rights does state I have the right to militia, and soon we will probably have to make use of that.

God bless the second Amendment

Is America Dominating the World????
Posted: 8/8/2005 11:31:55 AM

13th Portal; have you noticed that being American on Current Events is not too popular? There are many, many people on here who know MUCH more about our country than we do.It's amazing that they're even privileged with information that was never divulged to us as Americans. Their sources of information are incredibly accurate, with classified information being posted daily, such as our involvement in the WTC bombings, our selling Hitler oil during WWII, and MANY, MANY other examples of our country trying to rule the world. Hon, we're just BAD GUYS, the original UGLY AMERICANS. However, you can take some small consolation in a couple of things; we're still the biggest, baddest, fastest, prettiest, hottest, slickest MOST PROUD people on the planet, and nothing they can do or say will make it go away. We've always been hated and feared, right from the start, and yet, they just can't stay away from our front door, can they? And if someone's hungry, why ol' Uncle Sam will fix you a sandwich, in exchange for your soul, or your oil, or your allegiance. We never JUST HELP anyone, we always have an agenda. Of course, you have to take into account the fact that this forum is dominated by frustrated males trying to get laid, and when it gets a little slow, they bristle, scrape the ground, and rattle their antlers. For a while, I found myself trapped up in the UBERnationalism mindset, and now, I really don't care who agrees or disagrees, it's all just rutting season for the politicos. Yup, always plenty of criticism, and NO ANSWERS, as always.

Well put. Bravo man.

gun control in the usa
Posted: 8/8/2005 11:03:55 AM
Believe it or not, I'm not singling you out. You just happen to have points to debate

imagine this, a home invasion occures in your house! he has a gun, you have a gun. You're asleep and he's now looking over you with his weapon. Who's going to win that one? you try to pull your gun from your night stand. He pulls the trigger. You're done! If you never went for your gun perhaps things could have turned for the better.

From a womans standpoint: I'd rather go for the gun and be shot point blank, then be held at gunpoint, tied up, raped, and then maybe get shot in the head.

From my standpoint: If your standing over me with a gun, in my house. One of us is going to die. I'm not gonna let someone just walk in and have at it in my castle. You can call me stupid, insane, or whetever, but Im not letting someone break into my house and ask them if they need a hand carrying anything.

First off, I'm not attacking. There are issues the two of us have agreed on, and there will be ones that we dont...this happens to be one of them.

90% can't and don't know how to do it.

People learn quickly when motivated, remember it only takes 8lbs of pressure to squash the human skull like a watermelon.

If let's say it were true then why don't armies save money and a charge a hill using the "fists way"?

All members of our military are trained to kill with their hands, but whats more feasible against someone who straps bombs to themselves? Firing from a distance, or running up to them to hit em with your fists. Obviously firing at them. When they get to close we here about on the news.

gun control in the usa

most people should not own a gun, most dont know how to use them

True, most people should not own guns, mainly the ones that get them illegally, in which case none of them should own guns. For us law abiding citizens, tougher gun laws only make it tougher for those that follow laws anyway. And, those that do follow the laws DO know how to use them. Gun Safety is a must.

most americans dont know their geography, most dont even know where iraq is on a map,

Actually, since thats all thats been on TV for the past years, I think its safe to say the entire world knows where Iraq is.

talk about ignorance, most americans think canadians live in igloos.

You dont?!?!?!? When did you guys learn to use materials not made of frozen water to build houses? Have you moved to wooden frames yet? (Walks away dumbfounded and shaking head)

state of alabama has a 80% of people there dont know how to read properly,

So, whats the percentage of Canadians that dont know how to speak proper English.
More properly , 80% of the people in the state of Alabama dont know how to read properly.

for example, state of alabama has a 80% of people there dont know how to read properly, so what does that say. inconclusion get rid of your guns!

What does this have to do with the price of apples on Tuesday?
Cant read, so get rid of your guns. I know two plus two is supposed to equal four, but with this line I keep coming up with three. I dont see the correlation here.

since when was the last time steven seagal broke into your house

Have you seen this guys kung fu? He doesnt need a stinking gun to break into your house, if he wants in, you let him in, and if your lucky he'll just take what he wants and leave.

how about two fists? would drop the death toll for sure.

I can snap someones neck just as fast as I can pull a trigger, jamming someones nose up their brain with your palm can kill before a bullet lodged in a brain can, a closed fist to the temple can kill also.

My point behind all of these is; if people want to kill someone, they will. whether its with fists, a knife, a gun, or a shoelace.

Real medicines are extreme toxins <---If this isnt an oxymoron, I dont know what is.

I'm fully aware of carnot efficiencies and I contend that the third law of thermodynamics says fossil fuels are relatively efficient in engines. Show evidence to the contrary. I'm waiting.

I contend if it gets to be -460 degrees, Im not gonna worry about if fossil fuels will run efficiently in an engine. Cause the metal to metal contact wouldnt allow the crankshaft to spin in its bearings anyway. Why? Cause it would be frozen. I also dont think they make crankcase heaters that could withstand such temps. So your precious petroleum would be frozen also. Did I mention we'd all be frozen?

Hydrogen is more efficient, and less dangerous, the only exhaust you get is water.

I don't know why everyone is so sensitive of what someone says about them, I know I get called a bi8tch, about three times a week during rush hour traffic......and when I get called that word, I just shake my head and say "yeah, I know"....

none of my black friends call each other n*gger, EVER.

If someone called me a cr*cker, I'd laugh, but redneck: it's a term of endearment! LOL

So why cant the black dude laugh at being called a nig*er, like you laugh at being called a cracker.

I've seen more black people call other people nig*er, then us with them. Ive been called it by a black person. Just like I've been called cracker, redneck, hick, whitey, and gringo loco.

This political correctness crap has gone too far. People need to remove the stick from their ass, and move on.

I get a kick out of the black comedians that make an entire routine from hammerin on "da white folk." Thats funny shit. The shitty part is you'll never see some pale ass doin the same thing, it would be just as funny, but not politically correct. So therefore it doesnt happen.

I have learned that if you write a book full of stuff that people want to believe it will be assumed true and passed off as fact regardless of the truth. You simply want to these items to be true.

Just as people have written on how bad this stuff is, people that want to believe it, will.

We want these items to be true, just as bad as you want them to be false.

The only difference is we have provided an abundance of information, that can be followed up on.And the non believers just say "No, it doesnt work that way."

Especially the heartbeat part. LOL

The invasion of Iran by Iraq took place in 1981. Lordy, go back to Fox

I think the point rwhprism is trying to make is that this took place during Carters presidency. So whether we're talking september 1980 or 1981 is irrelevant. Reagan wasnt there.

NO support for invading an uninvolved, secular nation.

And Osama and Saddam were natural enemies - one was a brutal secular authoritarian, the other a zealous Islamic terrorist. Both bad

Please explain to me how an uninvolved secular nation can be run by a brutal secular authoritarian. And, if the brutal secular authoritarian that RUNS the uninolved secular nation is bad, wouldnt you be contradicting yourself?

Gotta find a new catch phrase too. Go watch Fox and go back to Fox is...well, kind of lame

Back in 09/01, there was overwhelming support for this, and dont tell me there wasnt. Once again people tend to forget, because they let their emotions override their concious decision making.

How bout you listening? are you are sit on the sidelines and complain kind of guy or do you take action?

I'm disappointed with the Iraq outcome as we all are but I'm one of the 75% of Americans that supported this action before we saw the outcome. I think it's spineless to then turn against him and blame him when I was for it as most of us were. He was taking action and that's what we wanted.

I think its safe to say 75% of the world supported this action, Ive said it in other posts and I'll say it again. The problem is that people go with their emotions, and when they realize its going to be a tough situation, they turn yellow and blame everyone else

What have YOU done to eleviate the issues confronting the world? Or do you only sit on the sidelines like the "passionateman" who critics the US while only whining about wanting to do some woman in his profile? Now there's solid commitment to principles if I've ever seen them.

LOL! Nothin like back seat drivers.

Jesus H Christ. Enough with the G.D. terrorist crap. All you bush haters AND Bush lovers, go find a f**king thread that covers that shit....theres a thousand of them. Pick one for Christ sake.

This thread is here to discuss theories on what to do about world overpopulation. Not the Arabs. This is a hypothetical thread, its a nice change of pace from the usual poop flung across this board.

OFT(On F**king Topic) Space exploration. There are rumors that Jupiter could be an inhabitable planet along with one of its moons Europa. With the dawn of solar sails, we will be able to move through the universe faster than ever. What we will find will be amazing to say the least.

some suggestions 1 = nuke and level all the bad countries
2 = starvation and problems in africa and other 3rd world countries, cut off the supplies and let nature take its course
3 = usa and everyone pull out of iraq and middle east and see what happens
4- cut off the worlds oil supply, and only the strong will survive
5 = send all the immigrants out of the countries back to where they came from

1. I may say lets nuke this and that, but we all know how bad of an idea this really is. If we nuke, they nuke, which leads all of us to nuke. Which leads anyone who survives to not want to live anyway. Nuclear Winter is not an option.

2. This wont accomplish much in the way of population control. It would help but not to the point where the rest of the population could spread out and actually be able to breathe again.

3. The same thing that happens now, suicide bombers, and people complaining. doesnt do much for population control.

4. Oil supplies. F**k oil supplies. We survived for thousands of years without oil, eventually we will do it again. Its not an endless supply, and it will dry up sooner than later.

5. If their illegal, boot em back. If they here working and pulling their weight, and not their pud, allow them to do so.

So what do I suggest? Nothing. When Mother Nature wants her planet back, she will take it. It already looks like she's in the process of doing so now. The best way we can help is to lay off trying to cure everything. M.N. uses Diseases such as cancer, and AIDS to control how many of us stick around at once. We try to stop that, and she resorts to natural disasters. Mother Nature will take care of the population problem, whether we want her to or not.

Demanding countries to stop murder, torture and genocide is good...we agree on this point. And we'll probably agree on many more...except the Mary Jane issue.
Demanding they can cannabis is ludicrous.

I'm asking chronic tom about the ability for one country's citizens to export a legal product into another country where it is illegal.

If countries like the one I live in want deem doobage bad, then they should monitor all the imports we get and bust the people in this country for having them shipped to this country. Its not up to Canada(in this instance) to keep track of every other countries laws. Common laws of huminity is one thing. The smoking of ganja, though, is not a common law of humanity. Which you did say was not a trigger issue anyway.

Unfortunately there are members of our government(yes I am aware my gov is not perfect. Somethings I support, other things I dont) that are all too lazy to go about it the import way. That would require way too much work on their part, so the easy way out is pressure the Canadians to make the bust. Thats not cool.

It's certainly an intoxicant which should not be used while driving or working.

Good call, just as the legal beagal alcohol should not be used while driving or working either.

As far as taking power anywhere....I will. But, because people are afraid of reality, change for the better not for the billionaires wallet, and the truth, I'm sure I will be assinated and will be held up as one of the greatest men in history, and my face carved into Mt Rushmore. Remember in ten years I AM eligible for presidency. PatsFAN for president in 2016

"If the words "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" don't include the right to experiment with your own consciousness, then the Declaration of Independence isn't worth the hemp it was written on. "

why shouldn't anyone be allowed set up shop in Amsterdam or Madagascar and sell heroin, coke or kiddie porn?

Where is the thought process in comparing KIDDIE PORN to smoking a spliff. I'm also willing to wager that the majority of people on here that do partake in puffing a jib, have never broken into someones house or stolen money from their family to support their supposed habit. I've seen many people hooked on coke and heroin, ITS NOT A PRETTY SIGHT. They lie, steal, and cheat people to get their fix for a day. They have no money cause it went up their nose, no family anymore cause they cant be trusted(thats pretty sad when you cant even get your own famly's trust and support anymore). And, if they do have a marriage, it goes to shambles cause they CANT deal with it anymore either.

Certain things in moderation is fine...even the doctors say 1 beer a day is good for you. Breathing the air like we do is worse than smoking a spliff a day. Remember this everytime you talk on a cell phone or a cordlees phone... in 20 years your gonna have a brain tumor from the radiation a phone can generate. Better make those illegal too.
