Hi Netab,
Must be something in that song. I think of jennifer when I hear it.
I hope that one day there will be an answer for us. I know that our babies are around and watching over us.

Awareness and Change
Posted:

I found the first stage so scary. It is tough looking into yourself and making the first move to heal.
As they say the first step is the hardest but once you have taken it, it gets easier.
3 years on and sometimes I think this is to hard to do. I find fear is my biggest block. But then a smile or a word from family or a friend and I know I have come this far and can go on for the better.
The memories still come back to haunt but they are getting less and less.
The best of luck on your road Tony. May all the twist and turns bring you to a wonderful place in your journey.

Do you take note of how somebody relates to their Children?
Posted:
3/21/2006 9:06:22 PM
I always take note of this sort of thing.
I got into a relationship and it was not good. He took things out of 2 of my kids and one of his. He used his kids to get what he wanted and had no respect for them.
He said that his son was jealous of him because we were together. The poor boy was 16. All he wanted was a family and dad who loved him.
When I left he even went to the point of saying he would give up his kids so I would stay. The worst part was he said this in front of his kids. I was discussed. I asked him how can you give up your kids. His reply was because I deserve happiness and they are in the way. He didn't get that it wasn't the kids (they were great and I loved them) it was him and the way he treated everyone.
I used to tell people I had 5 kids as this man was like a 2 year old.

Bereaved Parants

I know when my daughter died 23 years ago at 11 weeks from cot death it was the hardest thing I had to face.
People would say she has died, forget about her. Even when we went to see her and say goodbye we were put down for it.
My reply to this was "I am the one who found her and I need to say goodbye"
Then it was "well you can have more children." We could of had another 20 and none of them would ever replace Jennifer.
Still today it hurts at times. I find the hardest part is not knowing why she died. Doctors come up with all these different things.
I hold the thought that she was not meant for this world yet.
Like the others I tell people I have had 7 children. Jennifer is still talked about and included in the family. The younger children go to her grave even though they never knew her. Her photo takes pride of place along with her brothers and sisters.
Even the 2 babies I lost from miscarriage are still my children.

My special place is anywhere in the bush. Just listening to the wild life and enjoying the peace. Far better than here with all the noise of ballarat.
My special special place is also in my mind. A beautiful field with a waterfall and the greenist grass. So peaceful.

Hey Buff I wasn't getting you wrong. You made some great points.
I guess I am a bit harsh with people who do what he is doing to others. I don't see the point in dragging others down and making their lives negative and low. After having it done to me most of my life I can not see the point of it.
And I know what depression is like. Been there as well.
I just think we should find the positives in life (and yes I know that can be hard at times) and enjoy them for what they are.

Step Parents
Posted:
3/16/2006 2:35:05 PM
having been on both sides of this it is hard on both the kids and parents.
I was brought up to feel I was never part of the family. Being told you are not my child etc..
Then I got into a relationship and had two step children. My kids had a step dad. He took everything out on my kids and one of his. His daughter made it quite plain that I was not welcome and she did her best to destroy what her dad and I had. In a way she did just that. I soon left as I wasn't going to let my kids go through that or myself either.
Sometimes step parents can be the best for kids. It is all in way you work together.

Someone told me once you need the negatives to get more from the positives.
It is sad when people do what that guy is doing. They are missing out on so much of the good things in life.

Sometimes you do have to be cruel to be kind.
There are a lot of people out there who can't survive without some sort of drama in their life.
I know a few who live for all the drama and negative things. They make it their life's aim to live and love like that.
I lived with one and got sick of being dragged down to his negative world. There is so much to enjoy in life.
But it would be a boring world if we were all the same

new age ways to think
Posted:
3/15/2006 3:14:09 PM
As you say we all have problems or baggage as some call it.
I know myself I have come a long way in the last few years as in finding myself and getting out of the control thing from others.
I have tried suggestions from others and found some work for me and some don't. I pretty much do it my way and in my time which has helped so much.
In many ways I am lucky as I also have great support from some close people.
Do we ever really understand ourselves fully ?? Life is a journey full of lessons.
I don't think we should forget where we came from or who we are because it makes us, us.
I guess if we take what others say as the so called correct way to think we are being brainwashed. It is up to us to follow our gut feelings and do what we feel is right for us.
If these teachings etc work go for it and if not go with your feelings.
I have learnt to follow my gut feelings and sometimes it is hard but if I don't try I won't know.
You can find inner peace if it is what you want. Took me 40 odd years so it can happen.
For myself it is time to enjoy the life I have left and not waste a moment of it.

These are 2 of mine.
TOKEN
Token of our friendship
that will travel through time.
Special bond we share be
unbroken for eternal life.
Silent words shared with
mystical truths.
Heart beats as one with
binding souls.
7.7.04
VOID
Anger manifests itself deep in
the bowels of a tormented soul.
Fear strangling happiness from
it's sheer existence.
Pain swallowing the spark
ignited from childhood innocence.
Nothingness swarming to engulf
a pleading void.

Yes the good old school days.
Year 6 the boys telling me I was a great friend.
A quick kiss on the cheek.
Being whacked on the head with the lid of a desk.
Then high school and it all went down hill

The Worst Car Drivers You Have Encountered?
Posted:

I know what you mean about those tailgaters. I've had my p's for nearly 2 years and I am so sick of those idiots. Some seem to think because you are a P plater that they can try and bully you.
I usually just slow down a bit if they tail gate for to long.
When I have been pulled over for a breath test I do love the look on the police-persons face. They see the P plates and it is like oh here we have a young p plater and then when I wind my window down and they see I am not young. The look is priceless and it really makes my day. Then I get a " Blow in the bag please. Thank You and have a nice day"

Things You've Learned and Advice You'd Pass On Now That You're Over 40
Posted:

I've learnt never let the past get in your way. It can destroy your inner being.
What goes around comes around and man do I enjoy watching it come around.
Your children are the key to your heart, enjoy them and tell them you love them everyday.
If I could turn back time..........I wouldn't of learnt the lessons I have.
Enjoy life to the fullest it is to short to waste.
Life is a story book we each write our own page.

Married ladies that fool around
Posted:
2/15/2006 11:52:39 AM
If things are hard and if you are both agreeable you could try a open marriage. It keeps the marriage together in a form and lets you enjoy the fun side of it as well. This way is far better than cheating behind each others back. My hubby and I have a great marriage in all aspects but felt we needed something more so each of us have a friend/lover and it works for us. No strings, no pressure and we are all happy with the situation.
It is a big step to take so it has to be talked about and thought through by all parties. As they say life is to short so enjoy what you can from it.

Be honest with them about how you feel.
Make sure if they say they don't feel the same way you can handle that and remain friends otherwise you may ruin a great friendship.
Good luck.
