Would you date someone who is a shooter / hunter?
Posted: 8/28/2008 5:25:19 PM
i find that many who do this, do it for the thrill, and thrill only, the one such venture i went with 4 people in this regard, I didn't shoot or have a gun, i tagged along , but i witnessed some appalling behavior, like leaving some deers twitching still alive, with bullet wounds , I left after 1 hour of watching all this, reminded me of 14 year olds with air guns or with some guys who like to play army totally immature , something happened to these guys in life to make them think of this as a game, the higher the body count the better the score... total jerks ...... to some people this may be fine and legit to partake in this activity , but to many its a mentality tough guy thing to off or attempt to off animals as shooting targets, and it was not fun or funny to witness which i did... get a frikin Xbox or something,

Not Single/Not Looking
Posted: 8/13/2008 1:41:31 PM
they should pop up a option, called forums on profile instead of friends, hangout whatever, choosing this fantasy option( if something like this ever changes or existed on here) would delete all profile info and all pics accept one that would have a X through it lol , so no reading through complex long profiles etc, that have not looking etc, as sometimes ya don't even see it in there , I look at the profile body first etc, yeah if your married, in a relationship etc, then why have a profile, to tease potential viewers lol and i agree with SteveCollingwoodON why go to POF singles event with a partner, trust me, playing pool with someone who's taken already isn't funny lol my first game, at a POF event, paired with 2 women and both were there with their boyfriends which I didn't see at first, i said screw it, I hit on them anyway in a joking manner, but it still had me wondering why the hell they were there, like POF the dating site, the POF events have basically turned into a social outing

Question about married people and POF
Posted: 8/3/2008 9:43:33 AM
I am sorry but if u r married / in relationship why r u on a dateing site and dont give us all that crap about loving forums. there r millions or forums on all sorts of sites and if u want to chat there r millions of chat sites too. I am sorry but ALL married people should be banned from dateing/single sites and leave them for us genuine single people to try and get a new life.

I agree with that for most part, people married etc should use other means to stay in contact, of if they really do want the forums, then maybe a system can be set up, where only their username is remaining, but their profile is gone 100% ......I know if I become involved in a relationship, I'm off this page lol also to augment further, not single/not looking or married people, that go to POF single events also, isn't fair to those seeking dates, way too many frikin couples at them, is why I lost all interest in going to them after trying about 7 events .. also lately I've been seeing large increase in not single / not looking etc also on here .. they should use facebook and leave us daters to do our job, to find someone single lol

Grey Hound bus killing

yeah I'm not the kind to get nervous easy but this trip I was on was insane, people smoking also, 3 people had cans of beers going even , was a late night bus I was on in the states, 10 years ago, public transit in the daytime/night-time is a picnic compared to the greyhound bus I was on lol

Grey Hound bus killing
Posted: 7/31/2008 4:03:21 PM
well Nothing happened to me. Just saw some crap that wasn't normal 'public' behaviour. In the seat across the aisle from me was a guy in his 50's and a girl in her teens giving him a handjob under a jacket draped across his lap. Out of 50 or so people on the bus, about 15 looked 'normal', half looked fresh out of prison, and the remainder looked like migrant farm workers in transit. I was very nervous the entire trip

Grey Hound bus killing

Greyhound tends to attract the dregs of humanity. It took me just one 6 hour bus ride to figure that out, and decide that under no circumstances would I ever take Greyhound again.... Greyhound serves a purpose, but the 'general population, has no business on it - imo. Just kinda creepy in general...

Vinyl
Posted: 7/30/2008 6:03:56 PM
yeah I've been seeing people getting into vinyl , I have some also, forgetting the quality, a lot of people go through waves of nostalgia with old trends , in the late 50's to mid 60's there was a major revival with automatic foot pumped player pianos, they sold thousands at the time till they died off again in the 70's , even though they were considered obsolete by some 40 years by then, so this stuff comes and goes and is always fascinating , as well as the collector and preserving aspect of it, like many do with 33 rpm LP's now, and many also do with edison cylinders and 78 rpm shellac records and the machines to play them... , yup too cool lol

i was one of these such people till age 30 , due to severe LT illnesses that started at age 17 or so, missed out on it all, however I've come a long way baby since in all regards, I do not lack social skills at all now.. and they are now on par with everyone else now as I worked hard to overcome so much,, I see absolutely nothing wrong with it, many people like me, simply didn't get the chance early in those important years, even though I tried like hell at time just slipped through the cracks, laughinglibra says it best

Don't judge someone because of their past.... we read in these forums that people do not want to be judged by their past of partners, therefore we should not judge someone by their past of lack of partners either.

Are looks really that important?
Posted: 7/20/2008 6:26:11 PM
being that people are visual creatures by nature lol yeah it all adds up a bit in the equation, for me I don't emphasize or go on looks alone,I go on many things, personality, happiness, lifestyle, with looks being maybe 10% of what I look at or for in a person

Looks aren't that important, you just got to have the right mojo

High school friends who never made anything of themselves
Posted: 7/17/2008 1:22:51 PM
yet i still can't find a woman on here because I'm considered low end lol, I gotta be the complete opposite of many on here , and in many ways I'm glad I didn't go to university, seems to churn out a lot of shallow people that end up divorcing after their materialistic ways ruin them , least I have a personality , content , happy ,I just go with the flow, I have everything I want on 1300 bucks a month.. couldn't be happier , i don't worry about travelling, cars, big ass houses, or debt which I have zero of , most of the low end people I know, HS or no more than that , are still happy, colorful, content people that volunteer or always try to help others even less off than even they are.... you don't need a high education to be successful and happy, and many that don't are not lazy, just doesn't happen to everyone, if the OP has friends who are lazy etc, then maybe mommy/daddy should kick them out on their ass , instead of buying them cars, paying into a useless not wanted education, or better yet, yank their kid and let a less fortunate who really wants to go to university go who otherwise would never have the chance

High school friends who never made anything of themselves
Posted: 7/17/2008 10:44:29 AM
just because someone is not as rich as others or educated doesn't mean they fall into the laziness, immaturity or stupidity category , a lot of people fall through cracks in life, I did, I became severely ill at age 17 during HS and was still ill into my early 30's , yes I'm low end financially but doesn't mean I'm a dullard, I have a high IQ , and I do what I can and I'm happy , also not everyone can afford high cost of formal education... lots of low income families in this world, where university is all but a fantasy.. I still know a few from my HS years , and they haven't rejected me on income or education at all..... If you have a old friend from HS and he fails financially, then I guess some would rather say, he's garbage as a person, i want nothing to do with him even though we were best of friends etc , and that is truly sad, so much for friends then .....money is truly the great divider , it's got nothing to do with laziness, lots of people work their asses off for min wage , me included lol

I've made some good friends, still searching for the one though!!!! ( It's coming soon , I hope lol)

single for too long??
Posted: 7/14/2008 9:20:01 AM
I've been single for quite awhile also, however it was due to a long term illness that seemed to create a total deal breaker mentality , even though I was still trying to date, ( still am)
However the experience of being single for some time and ill for some time, has taught me quite a lot about myself , and when I do find someone, I plan to cherish them forever as life is too short,

Drinking and driving
Posted: 7/8/2008 3:58:34 PM
yeah rjb6767, your right, my dad always mentions he's never been tested since he got his license in the 50's lol, however he's a professional driver so he's all good ( drives 200 KMS a day sometimes as a driver) , but there are many older people who can't or don't have the mobility to do shoulder checks, etc, my 86 year old neighbour is a terrible driver but he passed the written test again, but that's all on paper, they should really test them in the car
my grandmother at age 91 gave up driving after getting confused and ending up the wrong way on the freeway, thinking she was in Montreal , when she was driving in a totally different city. , so yeah it's very scary out there, lol

Are there any men looking for true love for a lifetime?
Posted: 7/8/2008 2:54:47 PM
yeah, that's my big question lol, where do I find them , because I can't find them here, 170 now I've written to, only 2 I've seen in person , starting to think after 7 months here that 90% of people on here are reluctant to date or see people for real, but I'm putting the lack of my luck on my lower than normal income lol, figuring after 8 years of hard online dating, with zilch to show for it, shows it's not working lol least not for me, however like the original topic states, Yes I am looking for longterm forever , as for being alone, I've been single forever practically, never had love yet

Why do people try and live off of minimum wage?
Posted: 7/8/2008 1:18:56 PM
Well said BrandiW, ""So no, not everyone has opportunity to better themselves, and you should be a little less condescending to those minimum wage earners. They make the economy run a little more smoothly than you're giving them credit for... after all, how can a business make money if there aren't "peons" to do all the hard work so that someone else can reap the benefits?""

I was one of those such people, no opportunity at that critical time in life ( age 17 to 30 ) due to a longterm, chronic fatigue illness, and other issues, that was my full time job, I've since beaten it, however with hard work and guts, I work what I can, I make little, but at least I'm debt free, have a stable place to live, and have food, anyone who condescends anyone for living like this is truly shallow, also if gov and businesses weren't so damn cheap, and exploit min wage workers like me, we'd be a lot better off as a society, don't tell me that Walmart etc cant afford to pay better....

as a footnote, I seem to be stymied for love of a girl cause of low income, I thought POF would have tons of poorer women on it being free and all, but I cant find them , if you don't make equal or more money than someone on here, you don't have a chance with them, they value money more than the person, trust me, I've written over 165 of them lol) and yes I can support myself, I don't want someones money ,I want companionship and love and to be accepted for what I am, a decent honest person

Sincerely Tony!!! and girls, don't be so damn picky on money lol it isn't everything

I agree one the Sunday shopping ban, it would be so nice if people could actually have that day for family etc, just like they did in the 50's 60's etc, was always so nice, back in the day,
however, don't hold your breath for a sunday shopping ban, the big businesses practically own the government when even precious Christmas is at threat of having stores open even on that day,

Posted: 7/4/2008 6:03:09 PM
K, I've been on POF for a awhile to know how it works, however tonight, it looks like a ghost town, not one person from age 18 to 45 seeking anything within 75 miles is online tonight,
( i checked with a wider than normal age than I usually do) a first time I've even seen this, usually on my matches, you see a row of profiles with online now or IM User, that row of profiles hasn't moved in over 3 hours now Usually every few mins you see them log on and site has constant activity, as it shifts the newly logged on profiles, left to right, not tonight, hasn't moved in 3 hours now.... is it me or my mind lol?
anyone else notice this ?

Random Tim Hortons Question....
Posted: 7/2/2008 12:54:04 PM
this poor woman over a lousy 2 dollar tip from tim hortons that got her fired, my god lovely place, looks like getting tips there isn't a good idea lol

Dubbed the "stolen toonie" case, it centred around Charlene Walsh, who was working at a Toronto Tim Hortons in June 1999.

Walsh was fired and charged with theft after management accused her of taking $2.

Random Tim Hortons Question....
Posted: 6/28/2008 10:19:19 AM
if the owners of tim hortons wouldn't abuse their workers, ( i've known a few women to work there) and is it not a nice place to work with very high employee turnover, and too many micro managers, then until that happens, expect the service and food to be shit lol , I'm sure there's the odd good one, but it's a very bleak place to work, my good friend julie was in tears and crying after only 3 weeks there, she quit and will never go in one again as a customer also if they want better employees, they should pay them more

hananny, I just went through that also lol paid the lousy 30 bucks for a month, cause there were 5 really good looking profiles I never saw on POF, so I took a gamble, imagine to my horror when I found out they also have to pay to respond, so I complained in a chain of emails to the support/help whatever, what was worse, they had nasty filters whenever you tried to give a non paying member your email addy that hindered trying to communicate with the ones i wrote, i finally got through , by using words like
At dot com etc lol

Posted: 6/26/2008 3:20:54 PM
works both ways for women and men, I'd have no problem with it, some people fumble a long time before they find someone, but doesn't make them losers, or physically inept at F**cking / kissing etc that stuff all comes quick, some people are shy and it just takes longer is all, but they come around in time. least they don't have a ex, unwanted kids, or baggage, lol I know, I was very late also due to a long illness which I've since beaten, and I'm doing very well dating...

I call these guys rent a cops, and the few I've met, you can just tell that these guys are total ***hole jerks , just looking for any excuse to be a power tripper, ( we actually have a college near where I live here training these guys so i see a lot of them ) and the mentality of some of them is not good , saw one get verbally abusive in a mcdonalds parking lot at some kids , etc, yelling as if he was a cop, telling them to GTFO etc, lol kid's just laughed at him anyway,

screw the math, get a 50 cc scooter or get a super efficient car, sounds like both ways are bad I'd take the Canadian way however and shove that 13.50 into the tank lol

guys that listen to heavy metal: are they dateable?
Posted: 6/25/2008 5:24:14 PM
I sure hope so, I'm one of them( heavy metal dude ) lol but yeah, seems we are far and few between though on Plentyoffish , also just because someone likes a type of music, doesn't mean they'll inflict someone with it , and I do like many other types also
