[ In regard to the party at the Stratford on the same nite, the manager at the Stratford said that was a Swingers party. Only couples can sign up and go to it. ]\ It is my understanding that the Strat party that night is hosted my a new dating site that was put together and not a swingers group? Honestly 2 parties on the same night in such close proximity seems silly and like a competition thus my choice to avoid drama and take a road trip to Springfield to spend some quality time with one of my best friends!

Wish I could have stayed longer but my sister wanted to go home because she was not feeling well and as I told ya my allergies had me feeling bad, the smoke did not help so I decided after dropping her off to just go home and crash! Ok Folks... I am asking for everyone to come out next Sunday, Aug. 23 from 1 pm to ??? to Skips Place Too 4401 S Broadway, St Louis, MO 63111 for a fund raiser to help the family of P.J. Simpson (my daughter in law, Deanna's father) who was badly burned in an accident. P. J. and his family live in Affton but he remains in the Intense Burn Unit at the University of KC Medical Center and may be there for some time and has a long road of recovery ahead... Let's rally together to show support and help this family out! There will be an auction, raffles, a 50/50 drawing and more... Please join us.. Sadly many women who stay in abusive situations fear that if they try to leave the abuser will find them and kill them. Just watch the news... that happens all the time. Many are so mentally beaten down that they either think they are so worthless that no one else would want them or that they even may be deserving of the abuse. I have a friend who has been in such a situation for many years and says she has no where else to go, even though many times I have offered a place to stay and help to get on her feet. I know one day my phone will ring with the news that either he killed her or visa versa. In my situation my spouse was never abusive before he became ill, with stage 4 cirrhosis of the livcr he developed swelling and inflammation of the brain due to toxin build up in his blood and would have hallucinations and violent outbursts which led to a confrontation with his family where he either be hospitalized or they take him because I could no longer live not knowing what might be next.. I know that sounds bad but he was still drinking which in addition to the illness only intensified the problem . I can't and won't tolerate abuse under any circumstance...

Having only been single again for such a short time you would think I really would not know what it is that I would like about being single but surprisingly the list is quite long... here are some of the top reasons I Love Being Single! 1. When I clean the house .. It Stays Clean! 2. The toilet seat stays DOWN! (bonus... no tinkle on the seat or around the potty) 3. I can come and go as I please without explaination or arguments! 4. The grocery list has become much smaller and much more affordable! 5. There are no wet towels, dirty socks or shorts on my bathroom or bedroom floor! 6. The cap stays on the toothpaste and shampoo! 7. My shower puff is not filled with hair and the body wash lasts a lot longer! 8. The soap is not left stuck in the bottom of the shower! 9. When I turn off a light, TV, appliance it stays off til I want it on! 10. I can sleep at night without hearing the TV blaring the radio blasting, bad guitar playing accompanied by lousy singing , the microwave beeping, fridge or doors being opened or closed! And..Last but not least and Best of all I can live without FEAR of being abused physically, mentally or emotionally!!!

A special Thanks to my beautiful co-hostesses Karen, Susie & Cathy for all the hard work they put into making this such a great event and to Jimmy and all his lovely girls who allowed up to have the party there and ran their behinds off taking such great care of us all!! I agree on the teeth and flabby belly ads when we log on.. GROSS! Perhaps you are right Denise... maybe they are trying to sell us the self improvement stuff? Plant the seed in our minds that if we have a six pack ab and a sparkling smile you might just find the partner of your dreams? Think about it... seeing those ads when we log on is no accident I am guessing?

Good questions Bay... I can't speak for everyone but I am thinking in response to your post ... [ Women .... The ones that post on their profile that their kids come first.. ] I suppose women feel compelled to make this statement because at some point in their life a man has made that an issue? My ex husband left us when my boys were 9, 4 and 2 and I was expecting twins.. his exact words were "I Love You but I am tired of being a Husband.. I am tired of being a Father.. I feel like a Sinking Ship and these Kids are like Anchors Around My Neck!" That was 25 yrs ago and he has seen our children maybe 5 times since then... I have had some relationships since but find that the men may come and go but those children will forever be a part of me... So obviously .. My kids have always and will always come FIRST!! [ I also dont get why women get p1ssy when a guy mentions his ex... it is part of his past and who he is right? ] I agree that your Ex may be part of your past and that everyone we have been involved with in our lives is in part responsible for who we are today but also feel we should have better things to discuss than our Ex's! Especially when all you are hearing is the negative about the ex or being compared to the ex! It gets old fast when it is a constant thing! My ex is an ex for a reason.. if someone I am with wishes to know that reason it will be discussed but that would most likely be the end of that.. no need to drone on about someone who is no longer part of my life when I can be focused on building something and learning about someone new!

Gosh still almost 2 weeks away and sign up is already at 49! This is gonna be a great party! I am thinking we may exceed a hundred folks there! I am guessing the promise of skimpy clothing (or lack of clothing) is responsible in part for the great success in getting folks to sign up? I have even gotten a couple messages asking if I was going to wear the black dress shown in my profile photo ... It is actually my swimsuit and a wrap and since this is a beach attire party... ya never know... I may just show up in that outfit!

[Life isn't all about romance, it is also about the relationships you build and how you nourish them through your life.] I agree with this comment, everyone you meet is not going to become a love interest or even a friend but I believe in treating others as I would like to be treated and as such make every effort to be friendly to every person I meet whether at a party, online or elsewhere. Sadly this is not how everyone else may feel and at times we encounter those who seemingy snub us or are even at times perhaps downright rude but those are the people we would not really want around us anyway! Personally I believe there are no strangers .... just friends I have not yet met!

Awesome Party! You girls always do such an incredible job at organizing these shindigs! The band was great and the service was really good, I never had to wait more than a few minutes for service and the gals behind the bar were very nice! I had a wonderful time last night! I wish my news this morning was better but sadly my Aunt passed away this morning. I was able to be there with her for a final goodbye and think I am gonna just go crawl back under the covers and have a good cry now..

Wish I had good news or a good reason to party tonight but unfortunately my week has been just the opposite but the result is the same... I need some laughter, some time with friends and a couple of drinks to mellow! My sis (Lyndalu) is in the hospital with Kidney failure and an infection, she had been moved from the ICU at Barnes and is doing a little better now but actually stopped breathing during a surgical procedure and had to be revived and if that were not enough my aunt has been admitted to St. Anthony's, she has terminal cancer and we have been told she may have only days left... Please keep them in your prayers! See Ya'll Tonight! I am soooooo ready for some fun!

Great Party & Awesome Band! I had a great time!! I do wish they had a little more help though as the band only played one slow song and I was at the bar waiting through the whole dang song and several other ones as well. Hopefully next time they will believe that we POF members will show up when we say we will and be prepared!

I know you are NOT Catholic if you don't know that being born on All Saint's Day means I was born November 1 (the day after All Soul's Day = Halloween) but being born of the day of Saint's should get me "Sainthood" right? No Kat the kissing booth was not bad at all, especially with Kim there doing all the work for me! I actually enjoyed it so much that even after the booth I snatched a few more smooches (sorry forgot to charge for those kisses)!! Working the booth with Truman was a blast! What a sweetheart! And Sheila... Those Chocolate Covered Strawberries were INCREDIBLE! Of course leaving them right under my nose was cruel... it was very difficult to take just one for myself with 2 plates sitting in front of me! Thank Goodness Joy & Matt relieved of us from our kissing duties shortly after you put those there or they would have been gone! YUMMY!!

Thanks Again to Kat and those who helped make this another AWESOME Party! I just got home ... had a GREAT time (always do when I hang with you all) and the kissing booth was not nearly as scary as I feared, it was actually a lot of fun! I brought a couple of friends that I work with and think they are "hooked" and will most likely come with me to the next gathering... There was such a great crowd and looked like everyone was having a good time ... I can't wait to see the pictures!

Branson is always fun and so much to do there. One of my best friends lives not too far from Branson (just outside Springfield, Mo.) so I have a place to stay and quite a few 3 day weekends scheduled this Summer so let me know when and where! Camping or a float trip sounds like fun! Huzzah Valley is a nice place to camp/float. As much as I would love to go on a cruise or away for a week that is just not in the cards for me right now but a weekend not too far from home would be fun. Maybe even a Branson weekend? Another place I have heard about that sounds cool but would be more a girls weekend thing probably is a bed & breakfast called "Chocolate Affair" in Highland, Il.

Dang! I am gonna miss this one since I will be out of town that weekend visiting my friend in Rodgersville (we are actually going to the party in Springfield at Midnight Rodeo) but I do hope you all have a great time! I have been to 5 o'clock Somewhere and it is not too bad, the band was good and the crowd was decent but gotta say I would not recomment the Pleasant View Motel, you would do best to try the Super 8 where at least they clean and change the sheets!

I have been to a few of the St. Louis area gatherings and always had a great time so I am looking forward to attending the gathering at Midnight Rodeo on the 30th! I have a good friend who lives not far from Springfield who is single but rarely gets out and about and although I have told her about POF many times she has been too chicken to actually join but I am hoping by bringing her to the gathering she will meet some nice singles from the area and decide to actually get around to posting a profile of her own! Oh Great! Talk about a day late and a dollar short! This list is about 10 yrs too late! Where was it before I was stupid enough to ignore all the red flags and take that fateful walk down the aisle!? Seriously though many of these are really things that are true and so many of us ignore the warning signs because we mistake lust for love! This is why you should really take your time and get to know someone very well before becoming too involved with them! They say Love is Blind ~ but Marriage is a Real Eye Opener!
