Just me or does this forum have a lot of selfish people
Posted: 7/14/2005 8:53:30 AM
If you could READ you'd see I was checking this site out for a friend. I think I'll be telling her to try another single site or forget them altogether. You "single parent" replies are ridiculous if not in some cases obscene. I'm sure glad I don't need to find a mate among you! I feel SO sorry for your children.

What a crock.

Where have I heard THAT line before?

Anyway Joan, have you stopped to think that maybe the reason some of us are single parents is because our spouses had affairs? It's great that your're married still but lighten up already!!! And why are you still here anyway if you've made your assessment for your "friend" that it wouldn't be worth "her" time?

I think that married people who "check out" these sites have something going on anyway. In that case you will probably be a single parent soon anyway!

Single moms. Can they have any fun?
Posted: 7/12/2005 10:15:49 PM
Single moms can have fun. Its called living life and I for one would be more than happy dating a woman with kids----she knows what being a parent is about.

Just because you have kids does not mean you have absolutely no time to be an adult.

Now all you single moms feel free to send me email!

Getting Stood Up . . . At OUR Age?
Posted: 7/11/2005 11:56:41 PM
First things first Rap....had it been me I wouldn't have been standing you up in the first place. I saw your pictures and read your profile. I would never have stood you up. I would probably have busted my rear to get there EARLY lol.........

Don't let it get to you too much. It's his loss---let someone who will appreciate your company reap the benefits of your attention.

Has anyone been brave enough to meet someone with no pic at all?
Posted: 7/7/2005 11:13:28 PM
I will give most anyone a chance. I've met people without pics posted before. But be honest with yourselves----if there is little to no attraction then developing something is going to be difficult.

I do not exclude people without pics posted though. That is kind of like throwing away a chance at something wonderful....

However if you are not attracted to a person you are going to look elsewhere. Everyone has different tastes.

Don't make me feel any worse than I do at the moment.....I have soooooooo got to make up for this with my daughter.

I don't see her but on the weekends and lately I have found myself as you said taking care of what needed to be done so much lately that I forget she is only four and well.....I just really have to get back to having fun with her instead of pulling my hair out trying to do a milion things at once

Why is it when a guy likes thick girls, its a fetish, but not when he likes skinny girls?
Posted: 7/7/2005 9:19:54 AM
Just go out and date who you like to date! The only two people that really have to be concerned about it are the two who are dating. I wouldn't date someone I wasn't interested in. Big or small have a ball!!!

Pictures are kind of important. You wouldn't buy a diamond without looking at it first would you? Or a car? The analogy is the same.

In my experience meeting someone with no pics posted usually result in me doing this when I get back home....

I was stood up not too long ago. I was meeting her at the restaurant we were supposed to have lunch together at (she is someone local that I met---not off the net). I have given this woman multiple chances and she has blown them just about every time. Then she calls me up days later when she does this stuff all apologetic and stuff (this happened, that happened).

There is always a reason why she is unavailable and hardly ever time to see me. She goes on how much she likes me and doesnt want to drag me into her personal problems. I don't buy it anymore. I am telling her that she either wants to see me (and does) or she doesnt want to (and won't) I have been MORE than patient with her (I have known her for almost a year now). I have not rushed anything with this girl in spite of how much I like her (although the level of attraction has slipped WAY down due to this).

She is 33. I would expect this from a teenager not someone with school age kids.

By the way I haven't been pining away after her. I stopped calling months ago. She calls and says she wants to go out so sometimes we do. It's more like a friends thing anymore. I have given up on her as a dating prospect. Still no excuse to stand me up. She has a cell phone and so do I. She could have called at least.

My college girlfriend back in '90 told me she was sleeping with someone else. That killed me just about---I really loved her and was heavily considering popping the question with her when she told me that...

Thank God I didn't though.....Ive learned a lot since then. But it was massively heart wrenching at the time.

First loves.........gotta love em!

I'm definitely not all talk. If I click with someone on here I would definitely go out with them. Even if it took a few hours to get to where I had to go. So if I ask anyone out on here she should consider it a serious and genuine attempt to get a date with her.

All suggestions/comments are welcome. If there is something in there that is out of place let me know!

ANYTHING out of the ordinary in the sex department concerning lack thereof is usually the leading indicator. If she is banging someone else or he is banging someone else then he/she feels a little weird about having sex with YOU because they feel like they are "cheating" on the new guy/gal if that makes any sense...

I think they just want me to be happy first and foremost so I really don't think it would make much of a difference to them----not anymore at least. I know it doesn't matter to me one iota.

Would your family / friends think you're crazy for meeting and even dating someone you met off the internet or are they mature enough to feel it doesn't matter?

I think my parents would think it a little but I don't care. My sister would have no problem with it, and neither would my friends. At one point even I would have thought it was a little odd but not anymore. Its now how you meet its who you meet right?

what do you look for
Posted: 6/27/2005 7:43:34 AM
If you have no attraction to a person then there is no chance of any relationship. Period.

And that doesn't make a person bad for feeling that way----its just the way it is. For me I look for a lot more than looks but looks do play a part in securing the initial attraction.

Hehe Ok I am going to take the initiative and just see what develops.....

I am going to ask someone out from here that I find interesting sometime in the next two weeks. Couldn't hurt to see what the answer is!!!!!
If she thinks I am some nut for asking her out then so be it. It will make interesting post material regardless!

I have met people from the internet who had pics and who did not have pics up. The ones who did not have pics up tended to lie about what they looked like.

There is nothing shallow about feeling a need to have some kind of physical attraction to someone. It's hard to date someone you're not attracted to. It doesn't mean youre just after one thing.

I have met four people off the internet---2 had pics and 2 did not. And like a lot of you I prefer to at least know what the person looks like. But it doesn't exclude me from considering people without pictures. I just prefer to see who it is I am meeting up with before the actual meeting.

And by the way----none of the meetings progressed to second dates------bad vibes sprouted up!

How busy is too busy?
Posted: 6/25/2005 10:49:20 PM
I have always believed that if someone is interested in seeing you then they will go out of their way if need be to get together with you.

This "I can't im just too busy" thing is usually an indicator of an uninterested person.

The clincher is when they don't even so much as call you on the phone if you have exchanged numbers. If I like someone I will call just to hear their voice sometimes.

LOL I love that last one ("I have no game.....") that is one worth remembering!!!!!!

I guess the fear of rejection is an issue here. Been down that road a few times. And as far as smart ass comments I was referring to in case anyone was going to end up posting replies that were more hurtful than helpful----thats all.

I have interests so thats not a problem. I am just really awkward when it comes to talking to new people---especially when its women that I am attracted to.

OK here is my situation and I know I can't be the only one to ever have gone through this.

I have been single for quite some time now. I see a lot of women in my day to day life whom I do not know but would love to date. Everytime that I see one that I am attracted to and would like to get to know I just can't seem to make the approach and talk to them. Maybe its because I don't know quite what to say to strike up a conversation with them and see if they would like to maybe spend some time together getting to know one another. I am at a total loss since all I seem able to do is just "window shop".

I can't figure out why I seem unable to so much as approach a woman I am interested in. As a result I spend a lot of my time wishing things were different in this department.

Any ideas how I can break out of this apparent curse that has been laid upon me? I don't think I am unattractive I just wish I could figure out where to start!!! When you haven't been dating in a while like I have it starts to seem a bit confusing!

And please dont be a smartass with your replies. I wouldn't be that way with any of YOUR posts.

Mark
