Female Players, Is there such a thing?

There are unfortunately a significant number of women on dating sites who are clearly there only to boost their ego's.
Sadly, so many lack honesty or even openness in communication. I have no issue with people doing what they want in respect to dating etc... but surely it's not that difficult to just be open & honest about it. If you want a casual relationship etc... just say so rather than stuff people around and leading them on.
Obviously this applies equally to both genders, however, I have had 2 years of experiencing this with women who have over-inflated egos due to the amount of contact they receive [due to more men than women available] and as a result of this they believe it's ok to treat people like conveniences...

Is it Cheating ?
Posted:
7/7/2006 12:11:54 AM
Am I cheating?
You are most definitely NOT cheating, I am certain your dearly departed partner would not want to see you unhappy and not living life. Obviously he was extremely important to you as I am sure you were to him.
I believe he would be saddened to know that you have not moved on with your life.
I know that if I were in his place I would want my partner to find happiness.
I am definitely no expert so perhaps some counselling may assist you in dealing with these issues.
I wish you the best of luck & future happiness.
Keep Smiling :-)

i just don't wanna see them getting attached and then having things disolve.
Whilst that is a valid concern, I'd suggest putting that to the back of your mind or you will end up creating issues where none actually exist. You can't control the future, what will be will be :-)

How about:
After Dinner [i.e. have dinner separately]
1. Meet for Coffee & Cake at a Cafe/Restaurant
2. Take a dancing lesson together [obviously fitting in with dance classes - usually plenty available] - The order can be reversed to suit.
Under $100

*Shrug* i think almost all men on pof are players...least the ones ive communicated with...ive been "played" by several men on here....just like in "real life" cept a lil more high teck *shrug* whats a girl to do
Assuming almost all of us men are players is not going to do you any good, there are plenty of us "nice guys" here. Trust me when I tell you that you are not the only one to be played.
I have been burnt by two (2) women in the past 11.5 months, it doesn't however make me assume that all women are players.
I am now very cautious and somewhat guarded due to my experiences but I take each person on their merits. If I assume all women are players then I will lose every time because I haven't given each individual the opportunity I would want them to give me.
My two cents anyway.

how can you beleive what people post?
Posted:
6/29/2006 7:07:30 PM
I am new to the site and as I look through peoples profiles so many people seem perfect. but come on now who would not post the perfect profile. How do you know when someone is a good catch versus a good writer.
You can really only determine if they are a good catch by actually meeting & speaking with them, a profile will not enable you to do that.
As for posting the "perfect" profile, I don't see how that is actually possible, what I might see as being the "perfect profile" on me is not necessarily [or even likely] to be what someone else considers as "perfect".
I can assure you my profile is far from perfect however I am not going to put a profile up that reads like, "War & Peace". If people want to know me they will need to chat with me as a profile is nothing more than a series of textual imputs with no interaction.

I find being approached by a woman is fantastic, it's a very nice change from doing all the approaching and it shows that she has self confidence and knows what she wants.

Sports and women....a solution!
Posted:
6/28/2006 5:57:24 AM
It is a great idea. If for example, a boy/girl does not like a certain sport but the person they are with wants to watch the sport. Maybe the person who likes the sport can watch the sport as they perform certain oral activities on the person who does not enjoy the sport. That way the one who likes the sport, still gets to watch it and the one who does not like the sport is grinning from ear to ear. So, that is what I call compromise my friends.
This problem is now solved, NEXT!
I like your way of thinking Carrie, you sure you don't want to come to Perth, Western Australia, you'd be most welcome :-)

Exactly, If I had been on the receiving end of your e-mail I'd have been flattered and appreciative of your courtesy.
I wouldn't have read your e-mail and concluded, "Lets get married tomorrow, move in together & have a football team of kids" but then maybe that's just me LOL!

Now that takes the cake. eeeeeeewwwwwwww!!!
Surely this woman must have known she needed a shave, wax or perhaps she needed shearing.

NSA-No strings attached
Posted:
6/27/2006 7:05:13 PM
The only way that happens? Is if YOU LET IT HAPPEN. Don't play the "dumbified" female... you have just as much right in NSA as he does.. the only diff is, with most women, you say you're cool with NSA, but in reality you're so NOT. Then you start to expect stuff, and next you know? Here you are, confused about it. There is no confusion with NSA - which is why it is exactly that... if you want to be confused, hurt, or feeling rejection, get in a real relationship, then you may have a valid argument.
Well said [written :-) anyway].
No Strings Attached is a very simple concept until someone decides to throw expectations into it.

.....other option would have been appropriate......dear TINGLES71 am glad you have found "appropriate" punishment by using physical force...
Unfortunately, too many people overreact to this particular topic, anyone who uses smacking as a form of "educating" their children [and please realise that I have clearly & specifically outlined in detail my beliefs on smacking children] is deemed spawn of the devil.
Parenting is not black & white as the brigade of "group huggers" would have everyone believe. The delusion that everything can be solved by sitting little johhny down & speaking to him is frightening to say the least.
It would appear that you believe that everything can be solved by talking, I'm yet to come across a 3, 4 or 5 yr old that would understand & comprehend the significant ramifications & consequences of running onto the road with oncoming traffic.

Arrrrgh, DOMESTIC DISCIPLINE....what the hell does that mean? It is CRIMINAL to use physical force to intimidate another human being and that should apply to children.
It is a legal defence to assault for the purposes described previously and is NOT criminal.
It exists because it is ludicrous that parents be prevented from appropriately punishing a child for their behaviour and whilst I don't believe that smacking children is the answer to the majority of issues, it definitely has a place and is the most effective and appropriate method under certain circumstances.
Anyone who seriously believes that sitting little johhny [5 yr old] down and telling him not to run on the road is an appropriate way of preventing a recurrence is sadly mistaken and deluding themselves. Children do not have the understanding adults do, but they do however associate very quickly their behaviour [eg. running out onto a road] and the consequences [appropriate smack].
I have generally found that other methods of punishment are more appropriate for the majority of instances and on the very rare occasions I have had to smack my children no other option would have been appropriate. Additionally, on those very rare occasions I have always felt awful afterwards, however their safety is much more important than my "feelings" or those of anyone else who are deluded into believing that everything can be explained to a child & that they will understand it and not repeat it.

But remember one thing
We had a decided advantage for much of the game
11 playing 10 is a huge advantage
Yet we did not put the game away as we should have
I think that given we were playing without Harry Kewell the Italians had a HUGE advantage for the ENTIRE game. Furthermore, just because we didn't happen to "put the game away" prior to what should have been extra time matters not. You need to remember that the Italians sure as hell didn't put the game away, the referee handed it to them on a silver platter. Even had the Italians been playing with 11 instead of 10 they would not have faired any better.
After the blunders made by so many referees during this world cup, dont be suprised if video referees are used very shortly in soccer
Video refereeing should have been introduced a long time ago, the refereeing I have witnessed has been nothing short of disgraceful. The Italian player should never have been given a red card.

I never message males first!
Seems to be typical of women's attitudes these days, expecting men to be the ones to put themselves on the line for rejection.
I don't have any problem iniating contact with women either online or in person, I just find this attitude in women to be somewhat disappointing.

Sheesh if someone is prepared to habitually lie about small things like that, what else will they lie about & do they ever tell the truth.

OK so that was f****** PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT!!! i can not believe the freaking ref at the end...and the italians winnning because of that!!!
Agreed, I have watched every game that Australia has played in this world cup & we have been literally kicked from pillar to post in each game... by the refereeing. I am absolutely furious. It's one thing to lose fairly but to be robbed by pathetic refereeing is just unacceptable.
It was bad enough that Harry Kewell was on crutches & unable to play but to have our aspirations crushed so unfairly just... well sucks to say the least.
Throughout this world cup I have had to wonder what has to happen to Mark Viduka before he will be given a free kick [Croatia Match - should have been a penalty!], I mean I thought we were playing soccer not rugby, obviously someone forgot to tell that to both the Croatians and to the referee of that match.
Australia were convincingly beating the Italians with around 60% of the possession and the ball predominantly being at our striking end, we were going to win that match, of that I have no doubt.
It seems that whenever Australia is playing all an opposition has to do is trip over their own feet & voila free kick/penalty awarded, yet Australian players [Viduka is prime example] can be rugby tackled, held etc... and nothing happens.
BTW Red Riding Hood, I like your profile - you have the most incredible eyes :-)

Firstly, I look to see that the person has a photo, hell if I can display my ugly mug then I want to see theirs :-)
Honesty is something I look for in a persons profile [yes, I understand that you can only gauge so much from a person's profile] along with descriptive information on what they like doing, enjoy, hobbies etc... [Yes, my profile definitely needs work... just too lazy at moment to fix it LOL].
Clear & concise communication skills are always handy especially when describing what one does & doesn't want.
A sense of humour is essential [you only need look at my photo to see why I rely on humour... no Brad Pitt here I'm afraid].
I think the more descriptive the better; with a dash of humour, a pinch of clarity and a whole heap of honesty.
A photo with the person actually smiling as opposed to frowning is always good LOL!

An adult gets charged with a criminal offence for assault, what is the difference when you smack a child?
The difference is that it is legally acceptable to smack a child, there is a legal defence to Assault in those circumstances called "Domestic Discipline".
There are times where a child deserves & gets a smack & other times that they shouldn't. Obviously the punishment [read "smack"] must be proprotionate to the age of the child, it would hardly be acceptable to smack a 2 yr old child the same as you would a 10 yr old child.
I was smacked plenty as a child and have turned out ok [at least in my opinion & that of my friends]. My children rarely ever get smacked but if a time comes that it is appropriate to do so they will get smacked.
This delusional propaganda generated by the media that you will be arrested etc... for smacking your children is false.
I tend to look for alternative punishment options rather than smacking, however, for example lets say my 5 yr old decides to run onto the road.... SMACK!!!

Most likely because it's South Australia... The most boring place on earth, unless you want to go to church, there's one on every street corner.
However, your profile says you are a drug user. I suspect that is the major problem.

its harder for an attractive woman to find real love
Posted:

I avoid a woman that thinks she's "all that". Not worth it for me. Prefer a lady that's real and that's not based on looks.
Women who think & act like they are "all that" are a real turn off to me & I wont waste my time or effort on them.
Looks are important to me, some may say that I am perhaps "shallow" [which seems to be a common catch phrase used at the moment - not necessarily towards me :-)]. There has to be attraction but at the same time if the woman is stunningly beautiful but has the IQ of a house brick, can't hold a decent conversation and/or the personality of a slug then it doesn't matter how good she looks I wouldn't be with her.
Now, choosing someone based solely on looks alone, that's shallow [at least in my opinion].

I wanted to get an opinion... thats all...and if it makes guys think twice about e-mailing me...their loss just like his.
Exactly... I thought that's what these forums were for, perhaps I was mistaken.
Furthermore, any guy who would think twice about contacting you [in my humble opinion] has rocks in their head. I'd happily back my statement up by contacting you but I live in Australia and you, well you're on the other side of the planet
Keep Smiling :-)
Paul
