Libido after 50
Posted:

I had the strangest thought left over from a dream this morning when I woke up. It went like this:
"I stopped loving you when I realized your hard on had nothing at all to do with me." Any thoughts on this? I'm not even in a relationship right now....

You are absolutely right! Love is work. We love our children through thick and thin and we need to do the same for our partners. Easy to say - hard to do.

He Says Lose 30 lbs and He Will Give you an Engagement Ring.....Would Ya????

I say drop him like a hot potato - what if she loses the 30 pounds and then regains it? Ouch! I've learned that if you don't accept someone as they are it isn't love. If I meet a guy and I feel he needs "work" I know that I don't love them and will never love them. Been there done that.

I'm just cutting in here. The whole deal is - the powers that be just use the illegal alien thing (and so many other issues) to try to keep us divided and at each other's throats. THE REAL MONEY WASTERS are the ones at the top and big business. If we had just a teeeny tiny bit of the taxes we SHOULD be getting from corporate America we would never have to worry about benefits or food for ANYONE...EVER..."legal" or not...

Gotapulse,
I think you are on to something very basic here... Human nature. It seems a great number of people have ALWAYS needed to feel BETTER THAN someone else. For some, the illegal immigrant fills the bill, for others, its a woman on welfare, for others its an overweight person or someone of another race... it's really all the same issue... small mindedness. Take care.

No, you are not a ****. You are just unrealistic. I've been around a long time and the worst mistakes I've ever made have been in trying to change people. This has been the lesson of a lifetime. DON'T DO IT. An attitude of trying to "improve" or save someone is arrogant. Find something about yourself that you want to change instead - it will be more productive. If you care about this girl just let her go. She doesn't need a relationship where she always feels that you might love her more if she was just a little more perfect. It isn't kind or fair.

A Date In Maine???
Posted:
1/23/2007 6:26:14 PM
The truth is, ever since I moved here from California I keep wondering how Mainers ever get together to procreate. It's so isolated. How do they meet and where? I've been here 6 years and I still don't really know. I'm thinking that most couples must meet in high school. It also seems that when people here are divorced or widowed they marry someone they've known for years in their small circle. I guess that's only natural. The other thing is that most people from "away" come here as couples. This is a gorgeous place and the people are good but it is lonely for a single person.

SHIFUKU,
I love your hair! Especially the blue and lavendar... Great to see someone just being creative and relaxed. I'm working toward that goal now - getting back into painting and singing again!

Is my daughter a Dork?
Posted:
11/7/2006 7:24:41 PM
I don't think this is a negative thread. I can tell you really love your dorky daughter. I have the same kind of relationship with my daughter. She makes me laugh and dorky is good cause its funny...and (most of the time) on purpose. Some people have absolutely no sense of twisted humor... they are missing out. I can say my daughter gave me the biggest compliment the other day... She called from college and said, "Mom, I never laugh as much with anyone as I do with you." It doesn't get any better than that.
Enjoy!

I WANT MY EX TO LEAVE ME ALONE
Posted:
11/2/2006 7:44:09 PM
You don't really want your x to leave you alone. You want to find the magic key to get him to change. You cannot change him no matter how much you suffer. ONLY HE CAN DO THAT AND OBVIOUSLY HE DOESN'T WANT TO CHANGE. Unfortunately, your simply wanting something or someone with all your heart will not make it happen. GIVE UP. MOVE ON. Quit fooling yourself. Life really is too short. Don't waste your precious time.

Why are older women not into younger guys???
Posted:
10/10/2005 4:25:57 AM
Dear Bomber,
The reason older women are not into younger men is because they don't want someone to ask them if they are with their "son". Women are vain in case you hadn't noticed. I am anyway. I want to be the cute one in the relationship. I also don't want some young guy leaving me someday because I'm too old for him. Younger guys are pretty to look at but not a good choice for those reasons and because younger men have so much to learn. Truly. Not that you're not a good guy! I don't know you. I would suggest you date your own age for a while. Oooops forgot to say it matters "how much" younger, my x was 10 years my junior!

Are Latin men not in demand?
Posted:
10/2/2005 5:22:29 PM
I looooove Latin men! The worst thing about living in Maine (where I live now) is the lack of Latin people!!!! I am a California native and never realized how important Latin culture was for me until there wasn't any. Once I saw a Latin family in the store here and felt like running up and hugging them. They would've thought I was a freak so I didn't.

I don't respond to people with no photos - too annoymous feeling. I do want to know who I'm talking to. Of course I'm aware that the photo could always be fake ...
