Is how you pay as important as who pays?

But yeah, then they underwrite you such a big line so that you won't think twice about swiping. Also, for lesser financially secure people in the hopes that you'll transfer a balance, but it doesn't take too much brains to figure out that balance transfers are a bad deal.

Also, if you don't have a high limit, you can always pay off whatever you spend weekly, as online conveniences make that possible.

Consider places like CVS and 7/11 that are "tap and go" now for some credit cards similar to Mobil's Speedpass.

Consider sit down restaurants... paying with cash, 1/2 the time you won't have the proper change with the ultimate total with the appropriate tip you want to leave. Credit card you just put whatever you want to leave on the line and add it up. With cash, its more time until you can leave for them to come back with change.

Then, you might think the server might try to use their swipers... cc companies don't leave you liable for fraudulent charges.

But with cash, you can never get your money back if its stolen some way and its a lot harder to get back money due to check fraud.

I have to say I know of a few friends that had consistently use debit cards and since their banks post high to low, that has caused them to get like 4-5 OD fees in a one single day.

I remain OD free, I make money from my credit card through rewards, and have never paid a fee because I let everything pile on the credit card and then I only have to worry once a month about having enough money in checking.

Now, what would turn me off and I think is really worse than using a credit card is actually going to ATMs at a bank and/or network that you don't belong to and paying $1.50 to $3.00 to take out cash.

Then, you might raise the question of checks... that is bad too. You pay like $.20-$.25 a check and then you get everyone behind you angry for the long time it takes to process a check.

The thing is go take a look at how Visa and Mastercard (V and MA) has done in the stock market. Now, look at Cardtronics (CATM), which runs cash withdrawal ATMs in convenience stores. It definitely tells you cash and check are going out and credit cards and debit cards are going in.

So, if you think what they are doing may think they are financially unsecure, at least question them before you judge. You can't judge financially literacy from just seeing someone use a credit card or a debit card for that matter.

I use a credit card to get money back to defray these high gasoline prices.

I disagree with anyone who says use a debit card. You have a high risk of overdrawing your checking account and once the fee hits your account with a debit card, and it does it without warning, you can't reverse it. At least with credit cards you can set warnings for that you have like 8 or so days or how many you would want until your bill is due so if it escapes your mind at the time you get the statement, you can always have another chance before you're charged late fees.

Also, keep in mind you don't earn any rewards with debit cards or any other form of payment (which is definitely slower at the register especially for small ticket items under $25 where you don't even have to sign anymore).

Yeah, some banks have debit cards with rewards too btw, and they are like at best only 1/2 as good as the credit cards.

Reason I say, don't judge anyone based on how they pay.... there are plenty of people who use cards responsibly in that it is easier to track what you spend and better rewards.

I could care less how big or small a girl's boobs are. Instead, I look for a good personality in girls.

Why are women so hung up on a mans height?

I wouldn't make any relationship related decisions according to height.

Shirtless or not!?
Posted: 4/7/2007 9:30:37 PM
I think going shirtless is fine. There's many people who just want to go shirtless for comfort or convenience. For convenience, let's say a shirts vs skins game is always a good way to tell one team from the other. For comfort, its a good way to relieve stress. Its just like taking your shoes off to me.
