Palo Alto ~ Radiohead

In a city of the future,
It is difficult to concentrate.
Meet the boss, meet the wife,
Everybody's happy, everyone is made for life.

In a city of the future,
It is difficult to find a space.
I'm too busy to see you,
You're too busy to wait.

Well I'm ok, how are you?
Thanks for asking, thanks for asking.
Well I'm ok, how are you?
We hope that you are ok too.

Every one of those days, when the sky is californian blue.
A beautiful bombshell
I throw myself into my world
Today, I've been waiting for so long.

Well I'm ok, how are you?
Thanks for asking, thanks for asking.
Well I'm ok, how are you?
We hope that you are ok too.

7 or 8 weeks ago they were 3 and 8. It's nice to see them having a game that matters at the end of the season. Win they are in - lose they are out. If they lose then it simply means that Hamilton was the better team. I'd like to think the Bombers can prove otherwise. We'll see I guess.

(Fingers crossed!)

Five Feet High And Rising
(listening to this last night, a few different lyrics came to mind... sorry... *grin)

My mama always taught me that good things come from adversity if we put our faith in the Lord.
We couldn't see much good in the snow flurry when they were causing us to have to stay home,
But when the snow went down, we found that it had covered a load of rich black bottom dirt across our land. The following year we had the wettest spring we'd ever had.

I remember hearing:

How high's the snow, mama?
Two feet high and risin'
How high's the snow, papa?
Two feet high and risin'

We can make it to the road in a homemade toboggan
That's the only thing we got left that'll slide
It's already over all the shoulders and the knoggin',
Two feet high and risin'

How high's the snow, mama?
Three feet high and risin'
How high's the snow, papa?
Three feet high and risin'

Well, the hives are gone,
I've lost my bees
The chickens are sleepin'
In the willow trees
Cow's in snow up past her knees,
Three feet high and risin'

How high's the snow, mama?
Four feet high and risin'
How high's the snow, papa?
Four feet high and risin'

Hey, come look through the window pane,
The bus was comin', but it's stuck again
Looks like we'll be blessed with a little more pain,
4 feet high and risin'

How high's the snow, mama?
Five feet high and risin'
How high's the snow, papa?
Five feet high and risin'

Well, the rails are covered north of town
We gotta head for higher ground
We can't come back till the snow stops a comin' down,
Five feet high and risin'

Well, it's five feet high and risin'

the forgiveness part.....it's for the benefit of the one doing the forgiving....

I know. Believe me I know... just tryin' to get things stirred up around here. Kind of bored these days.

Ok. Seriously? This whole thing that happened to MP really actualy sickens me to be honest. As for the motives of her bringing it out into the open, my thoughts (IMHO) are that it will help her get past the final step of her rehabilitation - both with the incest and with her drug habit which probably (almost certainly) are pretty closely tied together.

Ah, but only if they ask for forgiveness. From what I recall anyway...

CFL Football 2009
Posted: 9/22/2009 9:48:50 PM
Just a bit tired of the negativity.
Here goes...

Romby Bryant and Arjei Franklin. Romby is the equivent of a one hit wonder in the CFL. One good year followed by ziltch. Terrence Edwards is still managing a good year despite the QB issues. So, I don't accept that it is the Qbs alone that is the reason that he is so bad this year. Plus his attitude in the locker room. He is known as quiet when the team is winning, but depressive and moapy all around when they are losing. It's pretty obvious his last game he did not want to be here.
Arjei ? Good speed but not so much the hands and his EQ for football is only so-so. We won out on this one. One of the new receivers is a huge raw Canadian kid, and the D lineman will help the pressure on the QB... a LOT.

Then trading the Canadian D linemen for a backup QB? Well, we need a better QB, and Canadian D linemen are a dime a dozen. The QB was highly rated by the Bombers 2-3 years ago when he was on the Al's negotiation list.

Simpson? What would you do with a guy who, granted is a GREAT football player, but takes offense to being swapped out and not playing the entire game because of his foot injury. Ok, he was one of the best LB's on the field, but take a rest when the coaches are trying to look out for your better interests... and the teams' better interest... to pull an egocentric self-centered move like that? (a healthy Simpson is better than a 80% Simpson - the coaches know that).
Then to be sulking and saying 'trade me', when he doesn't agree with being sat? What is that? Then being asked back into the fold and saying he'd rather sit? Why? Because he let his ego get in the way! Then making some pretty negative comments to the new players about the team? Apparently one of the palyers told Kelly to get him out of the room or he 'will take' care of him'. You don't need a poisoned attitude when the team is struggling. Not a team players' move there by Simpson - more of a hurt ego coming to the forefront. Sports teams need confidence with some ego (you have to think you are good), but again, to put yourself ahead of the team? I hope Simpson can see that some day.

The Bombers are still a better team than last years version. Thankfully the DB's are good this year, and the defense isn't too bad either. QB's could be better (understatement), but the same people who were B****ing about Glen are the same ones who are complaining about the QB's now. You can't have it both ways.
And, anyone who says Reinbold was a better coach (and person) than Kelly is on crack and can't recall how bad Reinbold was.

And the local 'news'papers. OMG ! They are just like the National Enquirer now. One of the columists was on Kelly after the first game and hasn't let up since. I don't by that paper anymore. I'd rather listen to Bob Irving on the radio - at least he is fair in his comments, good or bad!

And coaching doesn't make the player turn the ball over 8 times like they did in Sask., nor does it make Romby drop the ball and give away another one because he isn't hungry enough. Coaching is trying to solve the problem by requesting that the GM makes some player moves. Plus, the GM (or 'Player Personnel 'guy) has some responsibility with the players the Bombers get and currently have.

We are almost where we were last year at this point. If we are 3-7 (or 8) at this point next year, I'll jump on the bandwagon... if there is any room left.

There! Said it. Still a fan - always a fan.

Doer steps down as Manitoba premier

Too bad - he was so much better than Filmon.

Going to miss the old bugger...

Doer was rated as Canada's most popular premier in polls taken in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006

Hope the party gets someone good to lead them - the other two parties don't stand much of a chance with their current leaders.

I'll feel a bit more confident in the Bomber when they can get 300 years in the air though...

At least the DB's are way better than the ones from last year.

and If I were to die today
my life would be more than ok
for the time I spent with you
it's like a dream come true

and if this was the last goodbye
no more tears to dry
i would say it one more time
s'been more than fine

but how could i have known
and how could i have shown

so say what you will
before its too late
say what you will mmhmm
say what you will before it's too late
say what you will mmmhmm

and if you were to walk away
no you couldn't stay
just think of all the times we've had
all the good and not the bad

but how could i have known
and how could i have shown

so say what you will
before its too late
say what you will mmmhmm
say what you will before it's too late
say what you will mmmhmm

and all the time that i was holdin back
just trying to protect myself
well i want you to know
that i loved you more than that

so say what you will
before its too late
say what you will mmmhmm
say what you will before it's too late
say what you will mmmhmm
say what you will before it's too late
say what you will mmmhmm

if i were to die today,

X & Y
~Coldplay

Trying hard to speak and
Fighting with my weak hand
Driven to distraction
It's all part of the plan
When something is broken
and you try to fix it
Trying to repair it anyway you can

I dive in at the deep end
and she become my best friend
I want to love you but I don’t know if I can
I know something is broken
and I’m trying to fix it
Trying to repair it anyway I can

Oooohh, oooohh
Oooohh, oooohh

You and me are floating on a tidal wave… together
You and me are drifting into outer space
and singing

Oooohh, oooohh

You and me are floating on a tidal wave… together
You and me are drifting into outer space
You and me are floating on a tidal wave… together
You and me are drifting into outer space

Clocks
~Coldplay

Lights go out and I can't be saved
Tides that I tried to swim against
Put me down upon my knees
Oh I beg, I beg and plead
Singing come out of things unsaid
Shoot an apple off my head
And trouble that can't be named
Tigers waiting to be tamed
Singing you are...
You are...
Confusion that never stops
Closing walls and ticking clocks
Gonna come back and take you home
I could not stop but you now know
Singing come out upon my seas
Curse missed opportunities
Am I a part of the cure
Or am I part of the disease
Singing you are...
You are...
You are...
You are...
And nothing else compares...
Home, home
Where I wanted to go...

Thunderclap Newman - Something In The Air

Call out the instigators
Because there's something in the air
We've got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution's here, and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together now

Lock up the streets and houses
Because there's something in the air
We've got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution's here, and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together now

Hand out the arms and ammo
We're going to blast our way through here
We've got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution's here, and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together

Alive And Kicking
~Simple Minds

You turn me on, you lift me up
And like the sweetest cup I'd share with you
You lift me up, dont you ever stop, I'm here with you
Now its all or nothing
cause you say youll follow through
You follow me, and I, I, I follow you

What you gonna do when things go wrong?
What you gonna do when it all cracks up?
What you gonna do when the love burns down?
What you gonna do when the flames go up?
Who is gonna come and turn the tide?
What's it gonna take to make a dream survive?
Who's got the touch to calm the storm inside?
Who's gonna save you?
Alive and kicking
Stay until your love is, alive and kicking
Stay until your love is, until your love is, alive

Oh you lift me up to the crucial top, so I can see
Oh you lead me on, till the feelings come
And the lights that shine on
But if that dont mean nothing
Like if someday it should fall through
You'll take me home where the magics from
And I'll be with you

What you gonna do when things go wrong?
What you gonna do when it all cracks up?
What you gonna do when the love burns down?
What you gonna do when the flames go up?
Who is gonna come and turn the tide?
What's it gonna take to make a dream survive?
Who's got the touch to calm the storm inside?
Don't say goodbye
Don't say goodbye
In the final seconds whos gonna save you?

Oh, alive and kicking
Stay until your love is, love is, alive and kicking
Oh, alive and kicking
Stay until your love is, love is, alive and kicking

Time Of Your Life
~Green Day

Another turning point
A fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist
directs you where to go.
So make the best of this test
and don't ask why.
It's not a question
But a lesson learned in time.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

So take the photographs
and still frames in your mind.
Hang them on a shelf
In good health and good times
Tattoos and memories
and dead skin on trial.
For what it's worth,
it was worth all the while.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

It was a cheap shot - and the refs called it right. He didn't even get the puck yet, and malice was intended. IMHO.

As for predictions, I'll go out on a limb at this piont and say either Chicago, or Pittsburgh, or maybe even Detroit will win the cup.

Sweet Soul Sister
~The Cult

All the hip young things
Trying to make a scene
Living out forbidden dreams
Star spangled banner
Flutters in the sky
Time hustles those
Who wait to die

Come on little honey
Come on now, please
Come on little honey and dance with me

Sweet soul sister
Keep on pushing till the dawn, well...
Sweet soul sister
Forever dancing on and on

Ooh, she's a Dior girl
Twisting round the world
Midnight crush boogie scene
Firm fixed expression
Sensual, tender, smooth
Sexual panther, beautifully cool

Come on little honey
Come on now, please
Come on little honey and dance with me

Sweet soul sister
Keep on pushing till the dawn, well, well, well, well
Sweet soul sister
Forever dancing on and on, yeah

Hustle and strut through Paris at night
Hustle and strut
Hustle and strut through Paris at night
Hustle and strut
Say na na na
Say na na na, yeah

City of sin
Come and let me in
City of sin
Come and let me in, ow

Sweet soul sister
Keep on pushing till the dawn
Sweet soul sister
Forever dancing on and on

Desperately Wanting
~Better Than Ezra

Past the road to your house
That you never called home
Where they turned out the lights
Though they say you'll never know

I remember running through the wet grass
Falling a step behind
Both of us never tiring
Desperately Wanting

When they pumped out your guts
Filled you full of those pills
You were never quite right
Deserving all the chills
Say the worst is over
Kicked it over again
Then they ask what went wrong
When they turn you on again
Then they turn you on again.

I remember running through the wet grass
Falling a step behind
Both of us never tiring
Desperately Wanting

Kick them right in the face
Make them wish they weren't born
And if they bring up your name
Well they'll say you won the war.
Baby burst in the world
Never given a chance
Then they ask what went wrong
When you never had it right
No, you never had it right

I remember running through the wet grass
Falling a step behind
Both of us never tiring
Desperately Wanting

Oh, the letters have dropped off
Though they say you got them all
I finally figured out some things you'll never know.
Take back your life and let me inside
We'll find the door if you care to anymore.

I remember running through the wet grass
Falling a step behind
Both of us never tiring
Desperately Wanting.
I remember running through the wet grass
Falling a step behind
Both of us never tiring
Desperately Wanting ...

Turn And Walk Away
The Babys

You still believe you love him
I still believe I'm right
You're lost and I can't find you
You're somewhere in the night
We've got nothing left to talk about
This time it's goodbye
But you can't hurt me anymore
I've no more chance to cry
Walk away
Gonna build our plans to start again
Walk away
We're gonna turn our backs on love
And walk away
Captivated by you
I'm reaching for your love
Living in your shadow
But that was not enough
You don't seem to care about
The reasons that I give
We'll go fall in love again
Survivors always live
Walk away
Gonna build our plans to start again
Walk away
We're gonna turn our backs on love
And walk away
I love you
I love you still
I am broken by your words
But I love you still
Walk away
Gonna build our plans to start again
Walk away
We're gonna turn our backs on love again
Walk away
Turn around
Turn and walk away
We're gonna turn our backs on love
Walk away
Turn around
Turn and walk away
We're gonna turn our backs on love
Walk away
Turn around
Turn and walk away
We're gonna turn our backs on love

Music to wake up to

Listening to some old Aerosmith (again)!

No More No More
~Aerosmith

Blood stains the ivorys
Of my daddys babygrand
I aint' seen no daylight
Since we started this band
No More, No More
No More, No More

Store bought clothes
fallin' appart at the seams
Tea leaf readin' gypsies
Fortune tellin' my dreams

No More, No More
No More, No More

Holiday inns, lock the door with a chain
You love it and you hate it
But to me they're all the same

No More, No More
No More, No More

Baby I'm a dreamer
Found my horse and carriage

Stalemate jailbate
Ladies can't refuse
You love 'em then you leave 'em
With your sold out reviews

No More, No More
No More, No More

Sweet talkin' barroom, ladies disease
Slippin' with her lips
Slidin' down your knees

No More, No More
No More, No More

Baby I'm a screamer
Found my horse and carriage
Baby, I'm a dreamer
Found my horse and carriage

Ladies hold the aces
And their lovers call it passion
The men call it pleasure
But to me it's old fashioned

Times they're a changin
Nothin' ever stands still
If I don't stop changin
I'll be writin' out my will

It's the same old story
Never get a second chance
For a dance to the top of the hill

Baby I'm a dreamer
Found my horse and carriage

Manitoba flood to be 2nd worst in 100 years

Rumor has it that the Americans just opened up the tap on Devils Lake diversion full bore - if not for that we'd all be O.K.

^^^^^ LMFAO (two up)

Used to be that the gene pool would end when this sort of thing occured - and from how this sounds (the mother) it might not have been a bad thing in this case.

At least the grandkid knows that if anything happens to him in a fight, grandma will be standing there with the vial.
