How to represent pics of long to short hair from chemo?
Posted: 7/12/2012 2:54:57 PM
Dont think it really matters; everyone has their preferences. some guys like it short - others like it long, post pictures that best represent what you look like at the moment.

Glad you beat cancer, and unlike some people in here, I dont see why NOT to mention it. Seems like something endearing and interesting. Could make a great opening for some awesome guy to message you about how cool it is that you beat cancer.

For the guys: Do girls message you first?
Posted: 7/10/2012 4:03:11 PM
the only girls that message me first are ones that want to comment about how big my ears are and how goofy I look and how much of a pathetic nerd I am. (Basically really negative bullshit)

I literally average 2-3 messages a year that are genuine interests.

Why Don’t Women Ask Men Out ?
Posted: 12/27/2010 1:49:06 PM

You should get to know some of those exotic dancers as human beings before you make any snap judgments. I've known a lot of them, and not a single one did it because she liked it. It was a paycheck, and a good one. There aren't a lot of options for someone whose morally upright parents throws them out for getting pregnant while still in high school. Then it becomes doing whatever you can to survive and take care of the baby, usually something very low paying, until you're old enough to work in a bar or club - those places don't require anything in the way of education. I've also known some who worked hard at it in the summers to pay their way through college. It's honest work - and it is work, and it's certainly safer than hustling on the streets.

DO people have no critical thinking anymore? the whole point I brought it up in the first place, was how one can criticize men for paying to see a woman strip and not the woman stripping.

Thanks for missing my point.

Why Don’t Women Ask Men Out ?
Posted: 12/27/2010 10:27:29 AM

Which leaves me gobsmacked that there are tons of women who are able to make a living as exotic dancers and strippers. To imagine that there are enough guys out there paying to see semi dressed and naked women just because it's "easy" doesn't say much for the male gender.

It doesn't say much about the female gender, because of all the women willing to strip for money. Works both ways, bro. Not that I have any problem with strippers, just saying that if you're going to say that about men, you can just as easily say it about the women.

To me, Sex is more of a psychological need. Technically, having friends isn't really a need. You could live in complete isolation, with no friends if you wanted. Wouldnt be healthy, either.

I think to say sex doesn't have some deep emotional impact on a person, even if it's just casual sex, is ignoring something. Humans are very sexual beings by nature. Some of us aren't, but lots of us are. People want to feel accepted, and on a very basic, almost instinctual level, being denied sex grates on a person's self esteem. Especially if it's something they really want.

It's more of a social thing, imo. People want sex because it's pleasurable, but I also think on a more subconscious level, people want sex because they want to feel sexually desirable, to feel good about themselves as much as physical pleasure. I think denying this as important is counter-intuitive, and if you can live just fine without sex, and feel great. That's cool. I'm pretty sure you're not that driven to sex. But if you don't care about sex, but are looking for a mate, why not just seek out a friend? After all, sex isn't important, so their gender shouldn't matter, right? But that's not what I see.

I see women looking for men for companionship, but that's something their other female friends could provide if they wanted it. The only thing a man could provide a woman relationship wise that another woman couldn't would be a penis/children; EG: sex

Is there a way to avoid saying this is so n so from pof?
Posted: 9/8/2010 11:38:58 AM
I play 2D fighting games competitively as a Hobby (don't laugh, it's quite awesome going to tournaments and meeting all kinds of interersting people.)

Anyways, the social norm in our community is to go by some sort of game handle that isn't your real name (like on the forums of PoF.)

Everyone in the fighting game community knows me as "Simple Kiss" They don't even call me my real name.

one of my best friends, Keyon, doesn't even call me John.

"LET ME TELL YOU NOW SIMPLEKISS! THAT CHARACTER IS CHEATING! YOU DONT TEST THE YELLOW FROG!"

It's gotten so part of me that I go to bars with my friends and I start telling women my name is SimpleKiss. And the thing is like all my friends are calling me that, and these women get so confused, but they accept it.

cuz a name is jus a name. To quote my friend: "I'mma tell you now Simplekiss," *crazy hand gestures.* "But that YELLOW FROG IS A CHEATING ASS CHARACTER!"

Healthy Male Habits
Posted: 7/30/2010 9:15:24 AM

So your guy is having sex with you twice a day, and looking at alot of porn and abusing himself every time you turn around? Sorry but does this guy have a job or any hobbies? Sounds like a bored person with an infantile need for instant gratification. He is a child, not a man.

Sounds like someone needs to grow up and stop judging other people's pretty harmless habits.

Does she ilke me?
Posted: 7/29/2010 10:18:41 AM

Why would you ask her out, then ask her out again, and not set a time and place for the date? It's like you just asked her out to see if she would say yes. You left her hanging for two days then picked a time kind of as an afterthought.

And, if you see each other regularly in class, there's no reason for any of this to be arranged by text.

Unfortunately I agree with this post. I dont think text messages are proper ettiquite when managing potential dates.

usually hers, because as an above poster said, if you ask her to go back to your place, you're basically saying "Want to come home with me and let me screw your brains out?"

It's much more subtle to offer to drop her off if she doesn't have a ride. It's a great, non-threatening invitation that could be something more, with no pressure on her. Because when you get to her place, the ball is completely in her court. No pressure, no expectations.

And the moral of the story is........ don't date a 23 year old guy unless you want him to act like a...um...23 year old guy!

Could you be any more insulting and general in your response? What a load of nonsense. A male is a male, regardless whether he's 23, or 33. If a man will act like that in his twenties, he will do it well on into his adult life. Or rather, is quite capable of it.

Men are of no exception at any age. That'd be like me saying "Don't date a 20 year old woman and not expect to be dating a vapid whore."

I've actually been grinded up against by strange women in clubs before. A little too eagerly. It was rather uncomfortable for me getting a hard on, by a female I don't know, aggressively dry humping me in public.

that's just me, though.

Oh man, well I've been there (aroused on the dance floor) as I'm sure many men have. But when your slow dancing and the woman tells you "nice**** your busted. I would love too see this stand up to a criminal charge. Get serious man! How could that ever go over? That sounds about as logical as someone being incriminated for eating too much in a food court. Some things just can't be helped. Quit worrying so much guys and enjoy your lives

Don't mean to sound like a douche. But women don't get pegged for sexual harassment from dumb shit. I've seen it happen too many times to friends who I was *with* when supposed harassment was happening. No they didn't get arrested or anything but all it takes is a female to just say some stuff, and the next thing you know you're talking to the police about how you didn't touch that chick.

While ghostdog is kind of being a douche, I kind of agree with him in a sense.

If I get on the dance floor and dance with a hard-on, I'm lookin at sexual harassment charges.

IMO, I think it's kind of a **** thing to do intentionally try to provoke a sexual response without recipriocating. Sure you're a woman, equal rights, all that shit. I still think a woman would have to be a grimey individual to engage at least knowingly, in such behavior.

That being said, No, I can't agree to this sentiment. Like I said above, getting on the dance floor with an erection is grounds for sexual harassment, plain and simple. Women got it a lot better than they think they do.

Can online dating really work for younger people?
Posted: 4/14/2010 8:05:28 AM
Love isn't something that is at a conveniance to you, btw. I've known many couples in their 50s now, that got married at 19. I've known a couple people who are divorced now after a year of marriage, and got married at 30.

So I don't think that "Young people really shouldn't be looking for THE ONE." is good advice - or at least, misleading.

Posted: 4/8/2010 11:12:31 AM

well if you are admitting to being a whore - then why the reticence?

and I would never label a man a whore. that is reserved for women.

for males its called being a man.

I am still concerned however that he's probably already forgotten about you. You put the breaks on a guy and then 2.5 weeks later he's supposed to be sitting around pining for you?

But do not come crying on here because you've been placed firmly in the dreaded "whorezone"

Perhaps if you want to be his whore, then go for it.

Dear Sir,

You are a fool, and you embaress my gender. Please don't ever post on the forums again, especially if you're going to spew garbage like this.

Can online dating really work for younger people?
Posted: 4/8/2010 10:49:12 AM
internet dating hasn't worked for me at all. I'm just here for the entertaining forums.

that's not to say I'm still not open to receiving mail, ladies...

I don't know how to put this nicely without stepping on someone's toes. At 22, the Internet should be your LAST resort to meet someone. Seriously.

At 22 you should have a huge pool of friends, be going out, doing things, finishing school, etc... meaning that you should have much more access to members of the opposite sex than someone in their 30's and 40's.

People in their 30's and 40's usually only have a hand full of friends - this is because our careers and lives really don't allow for as much free time as we had back "in the day" when we were tearing up the clubs on Friday and Saturday nights. Add kids to the mix and our "free time" is reduced even more. This time restraint also affects our ability to get out and do the things we did when we were younger.

At 22 you don't have a career... you might have a job... you might be at the door step of a career - but it's not the same as when you're 30+ with 10, 15, 20 years invested toward retirement with an assload of more responsibility.

Most of the early 20 somethings I have met or spoken to from a dating site have been whackjobs. Most of the 20 somethings I know in "the real world" have absolutely no need for the Internet to date.

There are a lot of assumptions here. I can't speak for the 20 somethings you know, but personally... It's really hard to find women my age.

What kind of a man says this???
Posted: 3/30/2010 9:28:35 AM

Ok, so me and this man I've been seeing for a little while go downtown last night for a cup of coffee... it was rainy... dark (7ish)... We were in my car..Once we get to Denman, and I exit the vehicle, my raincoat is open and I guess my IT WAS COLD... so of course a certain part of my anatomy was protruding...through my top...

He turns and does a double, a triple, and a quadruple take at my chest and exclaims, "I can see your nipples!!"

This went on for about half a mortifying block... I kept telling him (as I pulled my inner jacket together)...' no you can't... omg.. stop...' He thought this was hilarious.

Is he developmentally challenged in any way?

No, he has a different sense of humor than you do. Sounds to me like he was teasing you and trying to be a little flirty.

Oh well. No he's not developmentally challenged. I think it's kind of insulting that you'd suggest that anyone with a different personality than what you want is considered being dysfunctional in some way.

If you don't like that kind of teasing, especially so early. Okay, fine. But it hardly means the guy had some sort of mental problem.

How to find out penis size
Posted: 3/30/2010 9:24:43 AM
Uhhh....

Tell her to stick her hand down his pants and find out if she's so concerned. The simplest solution is usually the best one.

Also, if she doesn't want to fool around, why is she so concerned about his penis? not until marriage? sounds kind of contradictory to me. If you really had that kind of mentality, don't think penis size would matter to you much either way... If you *really* believed in nonsense like not fooling around until you're married, etc.

Your dating theme song?
Posted: 3/3/2010 12:41:40 PM
My latest favorite song is called Snuff by Slipknot... ("Bury all your secrets in my skin / Come away with innocence and leave me with my sins...")... gawd I love that song...

But yeah, I suppose it's not really a dating theme song. I guess Every day is exactly the same by Nine Inch Nail would best describe my (dating) life now and for the last few years...

I believe I can see the future
Because I repeat the same routine
I think I used to have a purpose
Then again, that might have been a dream

I think I used to have a voice
Now I never make a sound
I just do what I’ve been told
I really don’t want them to come around
Oh, no.

I can feel their eyes are watching
In case I lose myself again
Sometimes I think I’m happy here
Sometimes, yeah, I still pretend
I can’t remember how this got started
But I can tell you exactly how it will end.

I’m writing on a little piece of paper
I’m hoping someday you might find
Well, I’ll hide it behind something
They won’t look behind

I am still inside here
A little bit comes bleeding through
I wish this could have been any other way
But I just don’t know, I don’t know,
What else I can do…

Every day is exactly the same
Every day is exactly the same
There is no love here and there is no pain
Every day is exactly the same
...

I'd have to add to that, another slipknot song that describes my dating experiences:

"Vermilion" - Slipknot, probably one of my favorite songs of theirs.

Also another depressing song that describes basically my (whole) and love life:

Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day

Oh and

"Bitter Sweet Symphony" - Ther Verve

What is your name?
Posted: 2/25/2010 1:58:11 PM
A name is nothing more than a personal Identification Tag.

It really doesn't matter if someone calls me "Gangster Kitten" or "John" the outcome and conversation will most likely be the same.

my name being John is about as significant as the label of "rock" to a stony, hard, elmental object that came from the ground.

if you put that much stock into the significance of your name, where do you get your personal Identity from? I sure as hell don't define myself as a person as "John" there are millions of Johns. But none of them are me.

In conclusion, "Who cares"

All anybody needs to know is my first name and they can find out tons of information about me-- full name, address, phone, website with bio and four years of blogs. So online I give a shortened version, which is a nickname I don't like at all but if I didn't give any name that would seem weird. I'm forced into a lie right off the bat all for something that, really, is inconsequential.

If someone really cared enough, they could find out your IP address and get all that information anyways. Better stop using the internet, IMO.

YOu cannot control how you feel about someone. This is nothing bad, these are your feelings. Feelings aren't wrong or good either way. I'd say that trying to supress these feelings will only make things worse. Accept how you feel, and things will get better from there.

Is this a Hate Crime ?
Posted: 1/11/2010 8:28:30 AM
I don't believe in hate crimes. You prosecute a person based on the merits of the crime and what was done.

If I hate my ex-girlfriend's lover because he stole my girlfriend, and decide to kill him, would I be charged with a hate crime? No, it'd probably be labeled a crime of passion. But I did hate the guy I killed. Hate crime is a "white guilt" thing to give prosecutors an excuse to lay down some extra punishment for crimes that are racist or discriminatory in nature.

I'd say that a vast majority of violent crimes stem from some kind of hatred. So I think it's redundant to have "hate crime." If some dude shoots up 20 people, I'd certainly hope you wouldn't have to use "hate crime" to ask for life in prison or death penalty (though I do not agree with the death penalty but I digress.)

Good thing I don't equate a "bad girl" to one that likes to have sex. So I'd say there are plenty of them. My definition of "bad girl" is someone who likes to stab people to death for fun.

Or step on babies..

Or talk at the movie theatre while the movie is playing. God, I'd don't give a **** if you think Wesley Snipes is such a hotty. Shut the f*ck up so I can hear what's going on.

Are Viruses Alive?
Posted: 12/4/2009 11:45:13 AM

You can't just say that a virus never evolves if 4 billion years later, it's still a virus, and not a donkey.

For the same reason this thread came about with disagreement's on a definition of 'life' and 'alive', I disagree on your use of 'evolution', you see 4 billion years ago, a donkey was something like a virus, infact something a lot simpler. Again, you have also missed the point of what was being said, to go from something that resembles a virus, to a donkey, takes more than simple mutations...
Shortly after extinction events, the variation in life 'explodes', random mutations wouldn't account for this, maybe it has something to do with being 'random'?...So are you more evolved (albeit micro-evolved) than a black African? or do you just have a different gene mutations?

Macro Evolution is when an organism changes into something radically different (over a long period of time.) This is more theoretical, and while Macro-Evolution is pretty accepted, it's never been outright observed.

Even YOU accept this but still argue the toss...maybe it's because you're American and half my age.

Hey guys, I make bullshit claims to support other claims without any real examples or justification to my claims.

The thing I was addressing in your post that was bullshit was your dumbass claim that "viruses don't evolve."

Let's add Red Herring to your laundry list of bad logic. The rest of your post, I really don't even know what you're trying to argue for (or against.)

Man the Armchair psychologists really come out of the woodworks in these threads.

I'd say you don't have a problem, that's just how you are. Also, being normal is nothing more than perception. Remember that.

Greed... is good? I definitely think so.

Taking care of yourself and persuing things that make you happy is okay.

It's when you become obssessed with having everything that is greed. Greed is "I want it, it's mine!" mentalities. Greedy Businessmen collapsed the economy because they weren't satisfied with one ferarri, they wanted 3, they wanted more. Profit margins need 2 b mOAR! MOAR MOAR! 256 Million dollars ISNT ENUF 4 MEH I WANT MOAR!

- That is greed, and no, it is not good. The Roman Empire was collapsed because of greed and gluttony. Corruption is blamed, but all corruption is, is the ultimate appeal to greed when you think about it.

Why is violence for self defence acceptable by law since you can just run away instead?

Well if someone is trying to choke me to death, do I have a legal right to reach for a gun and shoot them in the gut?

I don't know why the scratch my back and bite my lip. But I like it. I like it alot.

After reading some of these responses.... Ahem. Excuse me, I need to go relieve myself.

PS: It's when they start scratching your scrotum and biting your glans that has me worried.

Are Viruses Alive?
Posted: 11/23/2009 11:12:57 AM
Funny how you think everyone is a moron...looked in the mirror lately.

1 mutated virus = a virus
100 mutations of a virus = a virus

followed by 4 billion years of mutations

let me guess...yep still a virus.

let me guess again...you're American.

There are two types of evolution.

Macro Evolution and Micro Evolution.

Macro Evolution is when an organism changes into something radically different (over a long period of time.) This is more theoretical, and while Macro-Evolution is pretty accepted, it's never been outright observed.

Micro Evolution is small changes brought about by mutations. If a mutation allows for a virus to effectively fight off or counter an organism's immune system, then yes that is evolution.

Also, if a virus can only be spread by contact, but mutates and becomes airborne (something that's quite possible for a virus to do.) Then that is also evolution.

You can't just say that a virus never evolves if 4 billion years later, it's still a virus, and not a donkey.

Cockroaches have been around for a millions of years with no macro changes.

Hi. I'm American. And I'm almost half your age too.

Where can you run if he is standing three feet in front of you and pointing a revolver your face?

This thread is stupid. Op makes a laundry list of assumptions that don't always apply.

Not to mention that running away doesn't solve anything. If someone is robbing your house, running out of your house isn't going to fix the issue. That's how it is for most things in life.

Running away isn't always the best answer, sometimes it's not even an answer at all. Sometimes, running away will only get you shot in the back.

Taking a stand is the appropriate response sometimes. No, that doesn't necessarily mean shooting a burglar in the face with your grandfather's hunting rifle. But it could. The reason why self defense is legal, well... because, people should have the right to defend themselves. If you don't understand that, then I don't know what to say man.
